Lando and the gang were making their way back to HeadQuarters to restock and figure out what to do with Eren. Mikasa let go of Eren since they figured out he was alive, it seemed unhealthy to be this attached.
They all got there and there were soldiers waiting for them. Not good.
"You are to hand over Eren Jaeger." The one in charge said.
Lando knew this was going to happen; he wasn't going to fight for Eren; he was too unstable he could turn into a Tian and eat him.
Mikasa and Armin shuffled Eren away to protect him while the rest of them went away as well as getting slapped with a confidentiality order.
When they got there someone in charge yelled about prepping up and remaining on standby.
Lando walked over to the table where everyone was but he seated as far away from anyone as possible, he grabbed his journal to finish his drawing of when they were at the resupply depot, everyone shooting the Titans.
Yimir and Christa walked over to everyone asking what happened, Conny told them about what happened keeping the Eren Titan part out of there.
"...And that's how we got a hold of some gas and got out of Trost." Conny finished.
"You went through all of that?" Christa asked. "I'm sorry, we kept volunteering to help resupply you guys, but…."
"We'd even managed to secure some gas, too." Yimir said.
After hearing that Lando was pissed, he didn't have to go through all of this if they had let them resupply them. He could be all nice and cozy right now relaxing by a tree.
"D-Does that mean everyone who isn't here is…?" Christa said.
"Yeah…" Conny said.
"Even Mikasa?" Yimir asked.
Conny didn't know what to say so he decided to get help from someone else.
"Ask Lando he was in the rear guard with her." Conny said.
Now Christa and Yimirs attention was now on him, he hated that.
"Lando is Miaksa alive?" Christa asked.
"Yes she is alive for now at least a gag order was placed. We can't say anything, any other questions?" Lando said.
"The news is going to spread across mankind like wildfire. Assuming mankind lasts long enough, anyway." Jean says.
"Why didn't you retreat with the rearguard?" Yimir asked.
"Mikasa went awol and I went to make sure she didn't do anything stupid, but when Erens is involved you can't control her." Lando said.
"That's why you guys were over with us." Jean says.
"I should've just retreated would've saved me a whole lot of trouble." Lando says.
"I am damn glad you didn't" Conny said. "Don't think we would've survived without you or Mikasa."
"How many Titan kills did you get?" Yimir asked.
"18." Lando replied.
Now everyone there was staring at Lando with a gasp.
"How did you even kill 18?" Conny said.
"I move around quickly, as well as my spinning attack is what i like to call it." Lando said.
"I wish I knew how to do that everytime I try I almost die. It probably helps that you are already a master of the ODM gear." Jean says.
"All that matters is that you guys are ok." Christa said.
Lando didn't trust Christa, no one is that nice and caring, she had to have something she wanted to hide or she was planning something.
Lando was curious about Eren and his Titan changing so as the group talked he snuck away to go see what was going on with Eren and all of them.
He waited for everyone to be distracted and all that. He used his ODM gear to make his way over to where he heard a commotion. Lando saw Mikasa swords drawn and Armin by Eren.
Lando got ontop a building sitting down with his legs dangling watching what was going on.
"This would make for a nice drawing" Lando thought he had a habit of making jokes during really stressful times.
"Cadets Jaeger, Ackerman, and Arlert! What you have committed is an act of treason! Whether you live or die depends on you! Should you try anything funny or attempt to move from where you are, we'll blast you to bits immediately and without hesitation! This is a direct question! What are you really?! Human?! Or Titan?! The commander yelled.
Lando was also curious he didn't understand any of it the whole changing into a Titan depending on Eren's answer here he would save them if he found them useful to humanity and it was nice having a Tian to owe you a favor, maybe even his dad would be happy if he saved him and used him to kill the Titans he was a scout captain after all.
" I-I don't understand the question, Sir!' Eren yelled.
"That was probably the worst answer you could come up with besides Titan" Lando thought.
"Playing innocent, huh?! Just try that again, monster! We'll blast you into pieces in the blink of an eye before you can reveal your true form!" The leader yelled.
"True form?" Eren says.
"Scores of people witness the moment that you appeared from the body of a Titan! We've allowed an unknown being–you– to infiltrate Wall Rose! Even if you are a member of the Cadets as sanctioned by the king, it is well within reason to eliminate any risk as quickly as possible! Of this, I feel certain! The armored Titan that took down Wall Maria could appear at any moment now! As we speak, the very survival of humanity is at stake! Understand?! We can't afford to waste any further manpower or time on you! I will bombard you with high explosives if I have to" The leader yelled pointing at them.
Mikasa was looking around before she looked up at the buildings and saw a familiar face sitting there watching, she deadpanned at Lando.
"Why is she looking at me, doesn't she have bigger priorities right now?" Lando thought.
"Indeed, their defiance is obvious. It's unlikely we'll get any beneficial information on them. As you said, this is a waste of manpower." A silver haired girl said.
"Sir! Now is our best chance!" Someone yelled.
"We should destroy him while he's still in human form!" Another yelled.
Mikasa was still deadpaning at Lando." She thinks I'm going to help her, doesn't she?" Lando thought while sighing.
"My specialty… is severing flesh," Mikasa said, bringing out her blades " I'll gladly demonstrate it if need be. If anyone wants to experience my technique…..then please, by all means, step this way." Mikasa said.
Lando used his ODM gear and flew over to where the three of them were.
"Mikasa, that was possibly the dumbest thing I have ever seen a human do, are you trying to kill everyone here? Why would you threaten them when they have a cannon pointed at you?! A cannon!" Lando yelled.
"Who are you?!" The leader yelled.
Lando ignored him " I've seen street rats with better decision making skills than you."
"Lando…?" Eren said.
"Yeah, yeah it's me," Lando says.
"Lando!" Armin says with a smile.
"Don't get your hopes up, they still got a cannon pointed at us. I don't think I can get anyone out of this situation, even myself."
A soldier leaned over and said to the commander there " Mikasa Ackerman and Lando they both were assigned to escort duty with us elite soldiers. Her prowess is equal to that of a hundred ordinary soldiers. And Lando is quite possibly the future of Humanity; his skills are almost on par with Levi's at a very young age as well. Losing them would be a great setback for humanity."
"Hey, Mikasa! Armin! Lando! What is all of this?!" Eren asked.
Lando thought Eren was just playing stupid or something. How does one not remember turning into a Titan? But it was Eren and he is stupid.
"Mikasa!" Armin said. "Attacking people won't help! There's nowhere to run inside this cramped wall!"
" I don't care who it is. I won't let anyone kill Eren. That's all that matters" Mikasa said.
"You are going to fight off a cannon ball flying at us?" Lando questioned.
Mikasa turned her head looking at him.
"Can you stop a cannon ball? That ability would be useful currently." Lando said.
Mikasa ignored his sarcasm.
"Let's talk this out!" Armin yelled. "None of them understand the situation! That's why fear is spreading among them!"
Lando looked at Eren who was having a flashback or that's what it looked like.
"I'm Human!" Eren yelled.
Lando knew that wasn't going to work so he prepared his plan to not get killed and let Mikasa take on the cannon ball, he was going to grab Armin and get them out of there. Mikasa wouldn't let Eren go so Armin it was. Also, Armin wasn't annoying, Lando enjoyed quiet.
"I see… Don't take this personally." The leader said raising his hand "This is just how it has to be… Because no one can prove…. That they aren't a monster." He said, raising his hand.
"Welp it was fun while it lasted, time to go," Lando said, running over to Armin as the cannon fired, Lando grabbed Armin and was about to leave when he turned his head to see where the cannon ball was. But then Eren changed into a Titan blocking it.
All Lando saw was steam but he wasn't dead so it was ok at least. Lando looked around and he was in a ribcage of a Titan, not a fun place to be.
"I-I remember hearing the cannon go off…" Armin says, "After that came a tremendous sound, shock, and heat! And now we're in a giant skeleton-" Armin says.
"Eren protected us," Miksa said, interrupting him.
"He better have he owed me big time," Lando says.
"That's all we need to understand for now," Mikasa said.
Mikasa had a point. How does she sound so reasonable sometimes and a lunatic other times?
Lando saw a shadow running through the smoke.
"Hey?! You guys ok?!" Eren yelled.
"Eren! What is this?!" Amrin asked.
"I don't know!" Eren yelled.
"Great," Lando said.
"But it's already started to vaporize just like a Titan's corpse! Let's get away from it!" Eren yelled.
He didn't need to tell Lando twice but then he realized that how was he supposed to escape? They would surely kill him.
"Can't tell if they're watching or if they're in a daze….The Garrison Regiment isn't showing any signs of activity for now…But I'm sure they'll start attacking again soon enough. I doubt there's any chance of reasoning with them now, after seeing this. But there is one thing I remember now. The basement."
"He has gone insane, what does a basement have to do with this?" Lando thought.
"The basement of my house," Eren said. "My dad said it'd all make sense if i go there! He is also the reason this had happened to me…"
"Maybe Kenny wasn't so bad…" Lando mumbled.
"If I go to the basement, I might figure out what the Titans are too!" Eren said.
"Why didn't he just tell you what it was instead of saying it's in the basement, could've saved us a lot of trouble that way." Lando said.
"Damn it!" Eren said, pounding his fist into the Titan or well his Titan." I don't know! Why did he keep it a secret!? Thousands of scouts have died trying to get that information! It's the only hope humanity has! And he just kept it tucked away in our basement all this time?! What the hell was he thinking?!"
"Uh, Eren we might just be hit by another cannon ball so could this wait?" Lando said. " Maybe a plan or something?"
"Then I'll go over the wall and make for the basement," Eren said.
"Can you really do it?" Armin asked.
"I don't know how I'm doing it either. But I know I can do it." Eren said. "It's just like how I can't really explain how I'm moving my arm. Just now my mind unconsciously focused on stopping the cannon ball. That's why it decayed; it only had the capabilities and endurance for that. Next time, I'm gonna be an even stronger one. I'm gonna be a 15 meter high one that could slaughter other Titans, like before!"
Erens nose started bleeding.
"Eren, that's cool and all but how are all of us going to survive this?" Lando asked.
" I have two ideas in mind," Eren said.
"You guys can get through this alive if you stop trying to protect me. I've already caused enough trouble as it is, so I'm going to go it alone from here on out." Eren said
"Eren, I'm coming with you," Mikasa said.
"Of course she is," Lando said. "Armin you gonna go with him too?
Eren and Mikasa talked for a little while but Lando ignored them waiting for Armin's response.
"I said I had two ideas. Armin, I leave the decision to you." Eren said.
"Huh?" Armin said.
"Even I know how unrealistic this plan is. The best option would be to use this Titan ability, in a systematic way under the military's direction. I know this sounds crazy, but if you think you can convince the Garrison Regiment I'm not a threat, I'll trust you and go with that option. That's my second idea. If you don't think you can do it, I'll go with the other idea as a last resort. Decide in fifteen seconds. Can you do it or not? I'll respect your opinion whichever it is." Eren says.
"Eren…" Armin said. "Why are you entrusting such an important decision to me?" he asked.
"Even when things get ugly you always make the right call, y'know," Eren says." I figure that's worth relying on."
Armin started asking about how and stuff Lando was irritated at this point.
"We are out of time, Armin, decide," Lando says.
"I will persuade them without fail," Armin says. "I'll need you to act as nonaggressive as possible,"Armin says, running towards everyone.
Lando shot a hook from his ODM gear into a wall ready to get out of there as fast as possible.
"You've finally revealed your true form monster!" Lando heard someone yell.
"He is not an enemy of humanity!" Armin yelled."We're willing to disclose everything we've learned!"
"Begging for your lives won't help you!" The commander yelled. " He has revealed his true form for all to see! What more is there to say?! If you insist he's not our enemy then show me proof! If you can't, then we'll simply eliminate the threat he poses!"
Lando was waiting for the cannon fire so he could get out of there quickly.
"There's no need for proof!" Armin yelled. "In fact, this isn't about what we perceive him to be!"
"What?!" The commander yelled.
"I hear that countless people saw him! In which case, they surely saw him fighting Titans as well! And they must've seen the Titans swarming around him too! In other words, the Titans saw him as prey! Just like they see us! That's an irrefutable fact, however hard you look at it!" Armin yelled.
Lando had to admit he was doing a good job.
"Don't be taken in by their clever ruses!" The commander yelled.
Never mind, Armin was doing a terrible job.
"Their behavior has always been beyond our understanding! It's entirely possible they'd take on human form and use human language to deceive us all! We can't let them have their way anymore!" The commander yelled.
"Maybe the commander is a Titan and he was trying to pass off blame to Eren, after all, they are beyond our understanding," Lando thought.
" As a soldier, I have long sworn to give my heart! For the restoration of humankind! Nothing would make me happier than to die for that cause! If we combine his Titan ability with our remaining manpower, we can retake this city! For humanity's glory, in what little time I have to live, I will continue to advocate his strategic value!" Armin yelled.
Lando waited for what happened next ready to get out of there, he even planned on grabbing Eren and turning him in so he could survive. But then Lando heard a new voice he couldn't see because of the fog.
"I've only just arrived, but I've been filled in on the situation." The new voice said. "You're in charge of reinforcement now."
The smoke cleared and he saw what seemed to be a commander so that means that the other guy who was about to kill them wasn't the commander.
"Something tells me we ought to hear these people out, you see….." The new commander said.
"Armin did it, maybe he isn't so useless. Just don't let him around Titans or he will get eaten." Lando thought.
I'm sorry for not uploading a chapter yesterday. I was replaying Spider-Man and lost track of time.
