Magic/Written word

It had been a week since Remus received the first letter from his godson. During that week he had been getting himself together again the best he could. He got some new clothes and groomed properly for the first time in years, even made sure not to drink the entire time despite being tempted. The werewolf told his godson he wanted to meet after he got somethings together after all.

Remus's lost pup was understanding put his foot down at it not taking more than a week. Lupin was glad for that. Now he stood in the same shack as a week ago with a letter in his hands. The letter was a portkey scheduled to activate at a certain time. Remus looked at his old watch, a gift from better days, and saw it was almost time. He took a steading breath to calm himself right before a pulling feeling grabbed him by the navel.

The shack was quiet and empty in the wake of the magical transport.

Gringotts Private Meeting Room- 1987 December 14th

Damian was waiting in a well furnished meeting room at Gringotts sitting in a leather chair. He was able to arrange the use of the room due to his position as Goblin Friend after sending a message to Ragnuk. The young wizard thought it best to use a location other than the manor to err on the side of caution. He looked at the clock and saw it was time for his guest to arrive.

Soon after a man in newer looking clothes and possessing a strong smell of the woods appeared in the room. It took him a moment to gather himself and stand up straight after his arrival. After he gained his barring he took stock of the room he found himself in. It didn't take long for him to spot Damian.

"Har-Damian, it's so good to see you after so long" Remus said with slightly wet eyes.

"It's good to see you as well godfather" Damian said in a level greeting voice "please, take a seat."

The young lord gestured to a chair behind the man after he spoke. Remus sat in the pointed out seat before relaxing a bit. It was quite for a while until the werewolf broke the silence.

"Damian, where have you been all these years? I searched all over for you but I never got even a whisper of your location. I tried even Dumbledore again a few years ago, even though he refused to tell me the first time" he said to the boy, looking all the more haggard despite his attempts to appear otherwise.

When Damian asked his elves to find the man he also tasked them with finding out what he had been up to. The young lord wanted to make sure he wasn't going to attract a certain headmaster's attention by contacting him. So he was pleasantly surprised to find that the two men were not seeing eye to eye. Over the week of letters it became known why.

Damian was only doing these precautions now just in case Dumbledor had put some kind of tracker or other charm on the man. So Damian went through with his plan before telling Remus anything more, or anything really without protections in place.

"Remus, I ask that before we truly talk you take a Gringotts magical purification ritual. I want to ensure that nothing is effecting you beyond the norm" Damian said with weight in his voice "don't worry about the cost, I'll handle it."

Remus was expecting all lot of different things in this meeting, but this wasn't one of them. He was shocked for a moment and took a bit to find his voice.

"Why?" he asked trying to hide a slight hurt look he had.

"Because I had to take one to get rid of several harmful things done to me by a… mutual acquaintance" Damian said after thinking over what to say for a minute.

At that all the hurt Remus felt was replaced by anger, not at Damian but at a meddling old man. He could tell who he meant by 'mutual acquaintance', all the other options were a none factor since they would never do such a thing.

Now he understood why he was being asked this. If Damian had damaging things on his person from Dumbledor despite only meeting him a handful of times as an infant, who knows what Remus could have after living in the same castle for seven years and fighting in a war together. Not to mention that he had actively gone against him when it came to Damian. It would be shocking if he didn't have something wrong.

"Ok pup, I'll do it" Remus said to his godson after a minute.

After that the werewolf was led by a goblin Damian called to go to the ritual chamber. The young lord waited in silence with nothing but his thoughts after that.

It was three hours later when Remus came back looking better then when he'd left, as though he'd finally slept well for the first time in years. He was wearing the same clothes on his own insistence, but they looked somehow better on his frame now. It took Damian a moment to realize why, the man was not slumped over himself for the first time since he'd seen him.

When the older man looked at his godson in the eye it surprised Damian again. His eyes looked clearer and brighter, as though a fog had been cleared. It was only noticeable by comparison, but it was a clear difference. Remus sat down in his former chair and handed a piece of parchment to the wizard across from him.

"Are you sure?" Damian asked him, looking for confirmation.

"You deserve to know, plus I'm to emotional to talk about the nitty-gritty of it all" Remus said with a small look of rage in his now clearer eyes. Thankfully it was directed at the paper not the boy.

He nodded to the man and looked at the results.

Damian read over everything twice, just to be sure. He was a little surprised that the block couldn't be removed. He looked at Remus after that.

"They told me that I've had the block for too long to remove with their methods. However they said that your family has rituals that could, if you'd be kind enough to offer of course" Remus said at his godson's questioning look trying not to be presumptuous about the help.

"Of course I'll get rid of it for you, I want you at your best after all" Damian told him with a small smile.

The older man seemed to sag in relief, not from the assured help but seeing his pup smile for the first time in years.

"Thank you" was all he could say "though I do wonder why lycanthropy isn't listed, even if it can't be healed."

"I know why" Damian told him in response to his query.

Remus was surprised and quickly asked for an explanation.

"It's because the condition isn't a kind of curse or magical ailment" the young wizard explained.

"Then what is it, and how do you know?" he asked with curiosity.

"I know because the Greymore family was around when the first werewolf came about. I did research in preparation for meeting you just in case. The werewolf condition is actually a form of race change. Long ago there were a race of magical wolves known as Grandwolves. They had the ability to turn into a human form" Damian started to explain to the man.

"They then occasionally had children with humans, thus was born the original werewolves. However the ancient werewolves could control their wolf form and could control the transformation at will. They were also far stronger possessing a true wolf form, to look like a mundane wolf, a hybrid wolf-man form that is different than modern werewolves, and their human form. They also couldn't turn others into werewolves, they could only reproduce through normal means" he went on.

"What changed?" Remus asked in a voice that betrayed his slight desperation for the truth.

"A group of human magicals wanted a fighting force and kidnaped all the werewolves. They were a small community so it wasn't had, what had been was killing the Grandwolves to do so. Now the Grandwolves are considered extinct or at least endangered. The werewolves were then experimented on to become a kind of slave fighting force. Removing their sense of reason while transformed was a part of the attempt. Another made them incapable of normal reproduction and made it so they had to turn others. This was to turn enemies into more solders" the young lord started to answer.

"Eventually though on a full moon they escaped and killed all the ones responsible. During they battle that resulted all the research was destroyed. Many of the werewolves then went to the Greymore family as they were, and still are, allies to the Grandwolves and thus them as well. They were hoping for a cure but no Greymore has been able to undo what had been done to this day. The knowledge the family has comes from first person accounts of the survivors, and thus the history has been preserved" he went on.

"The Grandwolves no longer have children with humans since, somehow, the offspring become modern werewolves not the original. Now werewolves are the way they are due to this tragedy. When a werewolf bites a human they actually have their genes change, that's why it can't be cured. After all you can't cure being a veela or a goblin" Damian finished.

Remus sat there stunned for a while. He was shocked to find out the real history of werewolves, as well as to find out that there is no cure.

"So there's no cure what so ever" he said more than asked to the room.

"Not exactly" the young lord said to him.

That got the werewolf's attention.

"There is the idea that instead of turning you back to a human, instead there could be a way to turn you into an original werewolf. This would make you no different to a veela in how they transform. However the method to do so hasn't been found" Damian told him.

Remus sat thinking for a moment.

"So I could more or less gain full control in such a situation?" he asked.

"Yes, that's what I'm saying. They method just hasn't been devised yet, but research has been done by my ancestors. When you move in your more than welcome to look at it all" Damian said.

"Yes when I mov- wait! What do you mean move in!?" Remus shouted once he processed what his godson said.

Damian smiled at the man brightly.

"You didn't think I was going to leave a vagabond, did you? No your moving in with me. Besides I should have some kind of adult supervision besides elves right?" he asked with a cheeky smirk.

"…what do you mean by that? In fact let's get back to my first question, where have you been? Sorry for getting distracted there" the man asked his wayward pup.

Thus began Damian telling him what had been happening the past few years. When it came time to explain how and why he left the Dursleys he came up with a slightly believable lie. He said that because of his injuries his magic healed him overtime and the horcrux helped as well to insure it's own survival. This gave him some scattered memories of Voldemort in the prosses and gave him some knowledge on the magical world, as well as increasing his maturity a bit. He then left the house and went to Diagon Alley.

He went with this lie to cover up his past life and explain why he might know certain things and act more grown up. The rest of the story was the truth and it resulted in a very angry werewolf.

"That motherfucking, old wiseman looking, twinkly eyed bastard!" Remus shouted as he paced across the room "Tell me he can't find you again, please!"

"He can't find me, more accurately he can't find 'Harry Potter'. My name change made it so he would actually think I'm dead. My magical signature is different enough from that and my claiming my lordships that any blood he might have for trackers from me is useless. Plus the name 'Harry Potter' has been crossed out in the book of names, meaning his dead. In a way Harry Potter is dead since I no longer am him, the name change is that powerful" Damian told his godfather.

Remus sat down and let out a long breath.

"That's good, very good" he said "I'm definitely moving in with you."

"No shit" was all the young wizard said to that.

They talked some more before Damian opened the floo to the manor and they took off.

Three Days Later.

Damian was making his way to the library in the early morning. He was going to meet Remus, since he was found there more often then not. The young man laughed a bit remembering his godfather's reaction to seeing the place. He had to close the poor man's mouth for him he was so in awe.

The young lord walked to the sitting area in the library where Remus was reading. He sat down on the chair across from the man and cleared his throat. Remus put the book down and looked at his pup.

"Good morning, what's up pup?" the man asked.

"Good morning Uncle Moony" Damian said to the man using the name he'd taken to calling him "I was wondering if you could tell me a bit about my parents?"

Damian was asking this now as, despite them not being his original parents he does want to know about them. Plus he also has the memories of little Harry begging for information on his parents.

"Well, the first thing I can tell you is all three of them loved you very much" Remus said.

"Wait, three? I know Sirius Black is my blood adoptive father so is that why?" the boy asked genuinely curios.

"Haha, I forgot you wouldn't know. No the three of them, Lily, James, and Sirius, were all in a relationship together. Only Lily and James were legally married though. It was because they didn't want to much focus from the purebloods, after all two pureblood heirs marrying a muggle-born would cause them to get a lot of negative attention" the marauder told him.

"Originally Sirius loved James only and was jealous of Lily. Your father James was oblivious though and went after your mother. It wasn't until those two started dating that James started to notice Sirius was acting strange. He talked with your mother and that resulted in her calling him an idiot. She then talked to Sirius and they agreed to both date him. After that the two of them fell in love to and it became a proper three way relationship" Remus finished explaining.

"So no wonder Sir- I mean dad I guess, went after the rat after that night" Damian said aloud in understanding.

They had already talked about that night a bit and Remus shared that he knew Peter was the secret keeper. He also explained why he wasn't the secret keeper, it wasn't that he was under suspicion. It was because he was sent on dangerous missions all the time abroad and was in a position of too great risk to be viable.

"Yes he was quite pissed I can imagine. He didn't live with you at the hollow to help sell the ruse and because he was sent on missions for the order at the time same as me. Your parents made sure to keep it from even Dumbledore just in case. Only very few know the truth" the werewolf said.

After that they spent a while talking about Damian's parents and Remus' own time at Hogwarts. It was during this time that Remus let slip the fact he dated a certain Slytherin.

"You dated my mom's friend!" the boy was shocked not expecting his uncle Moony to have dated Severus Snape.

"Yes, yes I did. He and your mother saw each other as siblings and after repairing their relationship in seventh year after a large fight they were closer then ever. However during the time it took for them to make up Severus had already been approached by Death Eaters for recruitment. At that point he knew he couldn't refuse without consequence and came up with a plan after they reconnected" Remus goes to explain.

"He knew both your fathers were planning to be aurors and since they helped repair the relationship and apologized, he decided he could spy on the Death Eaters. He would then give your fathers information to help. It was around then we started dating. Dumbledore used him years later as a spy and it was quite ironic" he finished.

The young lord was stunned at how different things are then the canon. However since the major players in the events of the books are still unaware of such information he calmed. It meant canon wasn't entirely thrown out the window yet.

They talked even more for hours laughing and in Remus' case sometimes crying. It was a time Damian enjoyed immensely.

Greymore Manor- 1988 February 15th

The lord of the house was finishing a letter in an office room in the manor. He wrote in an elegant scrawl that took him days to perfect. He knew he needed good writing in order to have the recipient read it. He was writing to on Potions Master Severus Snape.

Damian had talked to his uncle Moony after Yule about what he had heard about Snape and how he was. Remus was sad at what his old lover had become and told the boy he guessed that Severus was most likely grieving and depressed. Eventually Damian came up with this idea, give Severus a pen pale.

It was decided that Damian would be the one to do so since Severus would recognize Remus' penmanship. Damian also happened to be quite good at potions, in part due to taking chemistry in his past life's high school years and the instruction given from Greymore texts and Remus. This would allow him to come across as a peer in potion making, though they decided he would only sign his initials.

The two agreed not to tell Severus about who Damian really was or his new name. They decided they couldn't risk Dumbledore finding out so easily. It was already a risk to send the letter in the first place. In order to not be tracked an elf would deliver them covertly.

Damian finished the letter and then handed it to one of the elves under Seeksie. He turned around in his chair and stretched.

"I hope this works" he said aloud.

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry

Severus Snape was grading papers in his office housed in the castle dungeon when he heard a pop. It came from in front of him but they seemed to have popped away before he could look up. When he looked he saw an envelope on the coffee table of the office.

Severus was cautious as he went to the letter. He ran a few spells to check for negative magics and when he found none his caution turned to curiosity. He picked it up, shrugged and opened the envelope.

As he suspected it was a letter and it read thus:

Dear Severus Snape, Potions Master 2nd Class,

I write to you requesting to begin a correspondence with you. You are known as one of the premier Potions Masters in Great Britain, and I would love to talk more on your chosen subject. I myself am an avid brewer and know a great many recipes from my family tomes. It would be a guanine pleasure to discuss the knowledge with an expert. I cannot revile my name as of yet however, certain persons of interest would not like my talking with you. I hope and look forward to future discussions.

In order to respond simply leave an envelope with my name and call for Seeksie. Once the letter is out of view from all eyes he will collect it and give it to me. I apologize for any hassle this brings.

From, A hopeful future colleague,

DTG

The potions master was surprised by the contents, he was honestly expecting one of the free death eaters to have left the letter. It was a breath of fresh air to the man to have a friendly letter delivered, especially one involving his chosen subject. He also could tell that the one who wrote the letter knew who he was as an academic, not a professor.

The title the letter referred to him by is a real title. A wizard or witch can gain masteries after their time at Hogwarts as a form of further education. They are separated in ascending order Third Class, Second Class, and finally First Class. Severus fond that they were easiest compared to Mundane college degrees. Third Class being equivalent to a Bachelor's degree, a Second Class equaling a Masters, and a First Class equating to a PHD.

The potions master was intrigued by the message and, after thinking about it, decided he had nothing to lose. So he sat down and wrote a response and then followed the letters instructions. As soon as he turned away from his penned letter a pop was heard and then another. When he looked back his letter was gone.

"Well this could be interesting, though anything that doesn't involve playing my part to the twinkly eyed git sounds lovely anymore" Severus said aloud with a sigh to his empty office.

Greymore Manor- 1988 July 31st

It was the first birthday Damian was having since reincarnating and he was spending it relaxing with his godfather. They had read together in the library and even gone out to a show with illusions on. The day ended with them eating a large meal in the dining room with a chocolate cake for desert. Remus had also given Damian a hand carved stag statue as a gift.

Remus had picked up wood carving as a hobby sometime after they performed a purification ritual to remove his last block. It helped him gain control over his new power by doing it with magic instead of by hand. Damian appreciated the homemade gift.

It was now nearing midnight and Remus was waiting outside the ritual chamber. The young lord had found a ritual that permanently changed ones appearance but had some requirements. One, they had to be a Metamorphmagus. Two, they had to perform it on their birthday in order for their new form to grow with them properly. Three, they could not perform the ritual after they turn 21. And Four, they could not change their form beyond certain limitations.

The limitations were simple, no changing your height beyond a foot in either way, and no gaining or losing more than seven pounds. The ritual involved a triangle surrounded by a circle to be drawn on the ground. On each point a magical ingredient was placed. At the top was placed a heart from a boggart, in the bottom left was a mandrake leaf, and in the bottom right was placed a phoenix ash. The heart was to represent changing forms, the leaf was for stability and the ash was for new beginnings.

The circle had a litany of runes drawn to make it, and the whole thing was drawn in a chalk made from dragon bone. It was completely ready.

The young lord had decided to go through with this ritual to help him when he would go to Hogwarts in a few years' time. He knew that he couldn't change his form with just his ability as that could be undone with select spells. No he had to change his base form to remain hidden. He also wanted a new appearance for himself. He was not Harry after all, not anymore, but he was not who he was in his past life. His name reflected this desire and so he wanted his appearance to match.

He stepped in to the ritual circle bereft of clothing and began to chant. As he chanted the circle started to glow and he kept in his mind what he wanted for his new appearance. Soon, after the chanting died off, the glow faded away. The three materials had vanished and Damian felt extremely tired. He walked out of the circle and put on a robe he had left in the room before making his way to the door.

Outside the Ritual Room

Remus was waiting for his godson to complete his ritual outside the room. He didn't originally want his pup to go through with the ritual but after he explained his reasons Remus couldn't find fault with it. He still waited for him though in case of an emergency. It had been half an hour before the door opened.

The boy that emerged from the door looked nothing like the boy Remus had seen go in. The boy stood a little taller than average for his age and seemed to have a more lean muscular frame. It was his face that was the most different however. He now possessed white, almost silver hair, shining violet eyes, and aristocratic features.

Damian had explained his choices beforehand to Remus but it still shocked the man. He had chosen the color of his hair as that was the notornis hair color of the Grim family and the eye color since it was the color given to the Le Fay line. This would make it easier to claim those families in the future. No Greymore traits were chosen due to the family not having a distinct physical trait in their appearance.

Damian almost stumbled out of the room and after Remus got over his shock he went and helped his pup stand. They didn't exchange any words as Remus helped him up to his room and put him in bed. As Remus was closing the door to leave he looked at his snoring godson, who had passed out as soon as his head had hit the pillow.

"Happy Birthday pup" he said as he closed the door.

Diagon Ally- 1991 June 7th

It had been a few years since Damian had moved to Greymore manor. In that time the young lord had learned a lot about magic, far surpassing the Hogwarts curriculum. He was still planning to go however when he turns 13. This was to be in center of the events he knew to be coming as well as the fact that no one would take him seriously without an Hogwarts education in Britain.

In the years that have passed Damian had grown closer to his godfather as well as Severus through letters. By now a noticeable impact had been made by those letters to Snape. The national potions graduates have increased in the past years due to Damian convincing the potions master to actually teach instead of just putting the instructions on the board. This gave Severus a good amount of clout, enough to give him some leeway with Dumbledor at least. This was due to how important potions masters are.

You need a potions NEWT in order to be an auror as well as to be a certified healer. So due to Severus actually teaching and being good at it, this gave Britain more auror and healer candite's, something desperately needed after the war. Now if Dumbledor were to fire him or get him to stop he would receive too much negative feedback to make it worth it. Now Severus can be more himself without worry.

Remus had gone deeply into training the past years, both magically and mentally. After Damian reveled the contents of the prophecy, or at least what Voldemort would believe the contents to be, he had thrown himself at self-improvement. He would not let his pup be taken again. This training resulted in him growing stronger as well as, through meditation, gaining some semblance of control over his wolf side. It helped that he was more willing to accept it as a part of him after the magically induced shame was removed and he learned the truth of werewolves.

When it came to Damian's second father (something that still gets him sometimes), the godson/godfather duo had to sadly agree to wait on his freedom. As of right now there was no way to get him free without reveling cards they're not willing to play yet, and in Damian's case he also doesn't want to get rid of his immediate advantage yet. After his first year it will no longer matter but before he needs all the help he can get.

It's not just that though, they can't cause Sirius to escape without alerting Dumbledor. If he has been in there for this long and then suddenly decides to escape there would have to be a reason after all. So in the end Remus and Damian made the decision to wait on freeing him until they could do so legally, which they have a plan for.

Once Damian publicly claims the Grim lordship he can demand a trial for Sirius without arising suspicion. This is due to the fact that the Black family is descended, and considered a vassal of, the Grim family. Requesting a trial for a vassal that has not received one would be a logical thing to most of the magical world. Until then their hands are tied though.

Now Damian is walking down Diagon Ally to Eeylops Owl Emporium. He choose to go there to pick up Hedwig if he can. Damian had done some thinking on the series in which his current world is reminiscent off. He figured that the bond between Hedwig and Harry in canon was the closest thing to a familiar bond that they had. So what if he established one with her in this world? He definitely wanted to find out.

He walked with a steady gait dressed in black and silver dress robes while using his Metamorphmagus ability to make himself taller and older looking. He changed his hair to blond and eyes a shade of grey. He looked nothing like himself in essence. He used this appearance, and a few others, to leave the house over the years.

Damian then walked into the loud owl shop and soon felt the pull he had only felt once before, when he found Frost some years ago. He followed the pull and sure enough it lead him to a beautiful snowy owl. He quickly looked around, and seeing no one around to hear him spoke up.

^Hello beautiful avian^ Damian spoke in his families magical tongue.

The owl perked up and watched the human closely, more than she was already doing that is.

^You speak the language of beasts?^ she asked with a curios tilt of her head.

^Yes, I do^ the wizard replied.

^This is fortuitous then, I already was feeling the draw of a bond to you. Now I'm ever more willing to follow the feeling^ she hooted in slight excitement.

After that they talked for a little bit and agreed to have the bond established after Damian bought her.

He walked up to the owner and pointed at the bird.

"I'd like that one please" he said in a respectful voice.

"You sure" the owner said with a bit of hope in his voice "she has scared off anyone else, pecking and hooted at them till they went away."

The owl in question hooted a bit angerly at that. Damian was able to hear the translation though.

^Damn right I did! None of them were worthy to be my master! Such a stupid human thinking just anyone would be acceptable!^ she had said.

Damian could only laugh a bit having discovered his to be familiar was a bit vain already.

"Yes I'm sure" he said with a smile to the shopkeeper.

The man shrugged and got the supplies as well as her cage ready. Damian soon was leaving the shop after paying 17 galleons.

"I'm going to name you Hedwig" he was uncreative and figured if it wasn't broke don't fix it.

^A suitable name^ the now name Hedwig hooted in response.

Once going to an alcove he put his finger on Hedwig's head and pushed some of his magic into her. A small glow signaled the bond had been established afterwards. Nothing in particle changed expect for a feeling of being closer between them.

Damian left the alcove and made to walk to a portkey station when he felt it. A second pull that day. He was passing the Magical Menagerie, something he hadn't done yet having arrived by floo. He stopped curios and looked at Hedwig. She gave him a gesture that due to the bond he could properly interpret as 'Go on'. He then walked into the loud and smelly shop.

Damian waved to the woman at the register and made his way to the back of the store. He passed dozens of animals before he reached the very back where a small cage was. He looked at it and found the pull was leading him to it. Damian then spied a little plaque on the cage telling the species. 'Crup- unknown sub-species. Warning! Unfriendly!' it read.

Damian went closer after placing Hedwig's cage on the ground for now. He spied into the cage and saw a sight that shocked him.

^Fuck!^ he exclaimed in his magical tongue due to shock.

The reason for his outburst was simple: the creature was no Crup. Instead it was a Grandwolf pup! Damian was able to tell due to reaching the species from his family tomes on beasts. The Grandwolves were incredibly important to the Greymores after all. However the species was believed extinct, or endangered to the Greymores.

'No wonder they couldn't label the cage correctly! And of course it not going to be friendly! The poor thing is a baby and is most likely scared to death!' the young lord thought to himself.

After looking around and seeing the storekeeper not paying him any mind he talked quietly to the pup.

^Hello little buddy^ he said in a soft voice.

The little pup perked up and slowly walked to the front of the cage. When he did Damian got a better look at the pup and saw his pitch black fur denoting what one of the six main elements the pup's attuned to. Grandwolves have an element of magic they are attuned to since birth and their fur color tells what one. White or silver for light, black for darkness/shadow, red for fire, blue for water, tan brown for earth, and deep green for air.

^Are you a Greymore?^ the pup asked ^Mama told me about them. She said they can speak even though their human.^

^Yes buddy, I am. Would you like to get out of here?^ Damian asked the baby wolf.

^Yes! Yes I would! Mama was right, you are nice humans!^ he said with joy.

^Where is Mama?^ Damian asked and immediately regrated it.

The pup whimpered before it spoke.

^The mean humans killed her and Papa when they took me, then other humans with sticks came and got me from where they kept me. The ones who killed Mama and Papa got taken away and I got taken hear^ he explained in a sad tone.

This told Damian enough to piece together what happened.

'Most likely he was taken by some poachers and then the DMLE came and arrested them, giving the pup to here in search of a home after' he thought to himself.

After comforting the pup he went to the register with the cage and told the woman he wanted to buy the pup.

"Really! Wow! I've never seen him act so docile for anyone before. Ok I'll ring you right up, just promise to give the little guy a good home you hear!" she said with a joking yet stern tone.

Damian nodded and checked out soon after paying for the pup, a collier and a leash. Once he left the shop with both Hedwig's and the pup's cage he went to another alcove. He put the cages down and opened up the pup's before putting the collier and leash on.

He patted his head and spoke as he pushed some magic into him.

"I'll call you Fenrir. Take the name back little guy!" the young lord said as he named the wolf while the bond finalized.

Fenrir barked in happiness that made both Damian and Hedwig coo. They soon made their way to the portkey station and headed home.

Greymore Manor- July 31st 1993

It was Damian's 13th birthday, the day he gets his Hogwarts letter. After he came home with his two new familiars about two years ago Remus and Frost were shocked. They soon adapted however having lived with Damian long enough to be used to unexpected things. Remus still remembers how bad he flipped out when he found out he had completed all seven years of Hogwarts curriculum in about a year! Regardless they were used to the insane with him.

Now they were witnessing another moment of craziness. Damian had found a few years ago a familiar ritual that would increase the bond and strength of the familiars connected to the one performing the ritual. The reason he hadn't done it until now was the one doing it had to have had their third magical maturity already before they could. Now that he has turned thirteen, reaching his third maturity, he has decided to perform the ritual immediately.

Which leads to now with Damian, Remus, and the three familiars outside at high noon in front of a ritual circle drawn in dirt.

Damian had grown into his looks over the years, having a steady diet and plenty of exercise helped a lot. He now stood at 5'8, about four inches taller than average, and weighed about 135 pounds of lean muscle. He a head of slightly spiky white hair that was long on top and shorter on the sides, a pair of shinning violet eyes, and sharp, aristocratic features.

Remus had changed over the years as well due to having proper care. He now stood at 6'3 with a healthy amount of packed muscle. His hair was healthier looking and his skin no longer looked so pale as to mistake him for a vampire. Overall the years had been kind to him unlike in the story Damian once read.

Frost had grown, as well as Fenrir, over the years as well. Fenrir now was the size of German Shepperd and Frost was about one and three-fourths feet long. Hedwig had remained the same more or less.

Damian was just about ready to perform the ritual. What this ritual did was very useful. First it made all the performers familiars stronger and could evolve them to a more powerful magical species if the wizard/witch is strong enough. Second it grants telepathic communication between the bonded. Third it tied the lifespans of the familiars to the master, allowing them to a age normally impossible in exchange for if the master dies they die but not vice versa. Finally fourth they familiars gain the ability to change how big they are for ease of transport and can change back into their previous form if they have evolved.

Damian had explained all of this to Remus and was currently reconfirming such to the man again.

"…so that's why it's so useful" the young man finished.

"I know and I'm sorry I'm worrying so much. I guess you going to Hogwarts soon has got me frazzled" Remus said apologetically.

"I know and I don't blame you, I'm nervous to. For many reasons" he told his godfather in an understanding voice.

One of the many reasons he was nervous being the potential, if not likely outcome, of meeting one or more of his soulmates once he goes to Hogwarts.

He steeled himself once he saw the time had come and walked into the ritual circle, thankful he could at least keep his clothes on. His familiars joined him soon after.

They stood in the center of a circle with a seven pointed star drawn in it with various runes along the circle. At each point of the star was a different magical substance. In one was a bowl of Damian's blood, three litters to be exact. After that came a bouquet of seven heliotrope flowers, for their meaning of eternal love and devotion. Next were the third, fourth and fifth sacrifices, the heart of a Nemean Lion a kind of lion named after the legend of Heracles, the feathers of a Great Eagle a magical kind of large eagle, and a tusk from a Jade Elephant a kind of large green extra tough elephant. All the animals symbolizing loyalty being the reason for their inclusion. The sixth ingredient was three fallen branches from a birch tree due to their meaning of new beginnings. Finally seventh was a unique potion that was brewed using rare materials that Damian had to brew himself taking thirteen days.

With everything in place the young wizard began chanting and continued to do so for nine minutes. After he was done he opened his eyes, having closed them when a glow started blinding him. He smiled and then passed out where he stood.

A few Hours Later

Damian had woken up all of five minutes ago and still couldn't speak. Why? Well the sight of his familiars new appearances and species where to blame. All three were in his bedroom with him when he woke and he was astonished at the sight of them.

First was Frost, he had evolved into a more advanced version of his original kind of serpent. He now measured three feet in length and six inches in girth. He also now possessed a icicle like horn on his head with white scales added around his head as well. He was now what Damian identified as a Dark King Ice Viper. One of the new abilities that Frost would now have access to is the option to spit his venom like some kinds of snakes and due to the venom's properties it would be like getting sprayed with liquid nitrogen.

Next was Fenrir who had turned into a Alpha Grandwolf. Normally in order to do so he would have had to defeat an Alpha himself or complete some kind of trial. Now he possessed two colors to his fur, black and silver. When a Grandwolf becomes an alpha they gain another color, and thus elemental alignment, that most fits them. They say the strongest are ones with opposing alignments, which Fenrir is now. He was also slightly bigger, about 1.25 times as big.

Finally, and most impressively, was Hedwig. She had turned into a White Phoenix. The White Phoenix is a sub-species of Phoenix that is white and silver instead of red and is aligned with ice instead of fire. They have freezing days instead of burning days as well. They will become a solid statue of ice and then break apart leaving a chick version of themselves after word instead of burning to ash and rising out of them. They are extremely rare and one hasn't been seen since the Silver age of magic, which was in the time before Christ.

Damian was just sitting there shocked when Remus came in and saw his godson's gob smacked face.

"Haha, now you know how I feel!" Remus laughed at his pup.

That snapped the young man out of it and he gave a light glare at his godfather.

"Yeah, I get it. Revenge for shocking so much all these years?" Damian responded.

"Yup! It was Stewards idea!" the man told him.

'Damn elf!' the young lord thought with a smile.

"By the way the letter came while you were out, here you go" Remus told him.

Damian took the letter from his godfather and read it after checking for anything nefarious. Having found nothing more than a small compulsion charm that he swiftly removed he opened it. The letter read exactly like he expected from the books and movies, just with the name 'Damian Greymore' instead of 'Harry Potter' on it.

"It's finally time" he said with a slightly nervous smile to Remus.

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry- July 31st 1993

Albus Dumbledor was not having a good day. He was having a fine day, a good one even! All until he went to check, for the heck of it he was sure his plan was going fine, that Harry Potter had had his letter delivered. So he went to the book of names to check were there should have been Harry Potter's name highlighted in silver to show a letter had been sent but not responded to yet.

Instead he found the brats name crossed out! That could only mean one thing (as far as the old coot was aware)! Harry Potter was dead. He then went running back to his office and went to a hidden compartment that had a series of magical instruments that tracked Harry using his blood. He hid them so no one could catch him using the highly illegal devises.

However this also made him forget about them after a few years, as they say out of sight out of mind. So he was now checking them for the first time I years. They all showed no activity. The man paled at the realization. All his planning was for nothing!

He went to the floo intent on going to the Dursleys in order to get the full picture. He never knew to things though.

First the fact that there is one other thing that can cross out a name in the book of names, a magical name change ritual. Second that there was a name a few pages after were Harry Potter was crossed out that had a name change from silver to gold, meaning an acceptance of the letter. The now glowing name read 'Damian Greymore'.
