Episode 17: Pups And The Trouble In The Jungle! Hola, PAW Patrol Emerald!

October 22nd, 2029

Earlier that week, Ryder and the pups had saved a monkey that was recuperating at Katie's animal hospital, and now she was back in the jungle. Currently, Ryder and Ben were fishing at the Flounder. "Still nary a nibble from those finicky fish, eh, fellas?" Captain Turbot asked.

"Nothing's biting except the bugs, Captain Turbot." Rocky replied, scratching his ear.

"Hey Ryder, how's that friend of yours doing? His name was Carlos, wasn't it?" Ben remarked.

"Yup! Carlos lives in the jungle with Mandy and Mateo. He does archeological research there. He mentioned a temple that he was doing work on." Ryder answered.

Suddenly, his pup pad started ringing, causing Ryder to set down his fishing pole and take the call. "Well, speak of the devil. That's him, isn't it?" Ben mused.

"Carlos! Hey, what's going on over in the jungle?" Ryder enthusiastically asked.

"A giant monkey statue, that's what!" Carlos exclaimed, turning his camera to show a massive stone sculpture of a monkey.

Captain Turbot's eyes widened as he leaned in to see the statue. "My, that's a marvelously massive monolith!" The sailor appreciatively said.

"It's a big statue, all right. If you ask me, I think it looks like a monkey wearing a crown of some sort." Ben noticed.

Captain Turbot nodded his head in agreement. "Precisely, young Benjamin! Legend has it that a lost tribe of monkeys has been waiting for their rightful ruler to someday return so they can crown their Capuchin queen!" The sailor responded.

"That's cool and all, but I'm going to need the PAW Patrol's help getting this artifact to the museum." Carlos chuckled.

"I thought you were a marine biologist, Captain Turbot?" Ben asked.

Turbot scratched the back of his head and laughed.

"I'm also a bit of a mythology buff!" The seaman admitted.

"We're on our way. No statue is too big, no pup is too small!" Ryder exclaimed.

"No Mandy! Get down from there!" Carlos scolded his monkey friend. She then took off and climbed up on the rooftop of a temple. Both of them chased after a crown of some sort, before Carlos's phone dropped.

"Carlos!?" Ben asked.

"Let's go. PAW Patrol, to the PAW Patroller!" Ryder announced, summoning the pups.

Rocky pulled a boot out of the water before they all went to the Patroller. Marshall as usual got the pups in a pile with his clumsy antics, this time getting a boot on his tail. "Um… shake your booty?" Marshall giggled, and Ben couldn't help but crack up.

"Marshall, you little rascal. You're so hilarious!" Ben laughed. The mechanical arms extended out of the Patroller's side walls and outfitted the pups, before they all went to the briefing room. Ben got in the driving seat and hit the gas. "Pedal to the metal!" Ben roared as their eighteen wheeler took off.

"PAW Patrol, ready for action, Ryder, sir!" Chase announced as they took their seats.

"Thanks, pups! We've got to rumble to the jungle to save Carlos. He got trapped in a pit while chasing after Mandy. Chase, we'll need you and your nose to sniff him out. Marshall, Ben, you've been given EMT training, so we'll need you to make sure Carlos is okay. The EMT and Spy gear we were building for you two isn't ready yet, so we have to make do with what we have." Ryder explained to the pups.

"Chase is on the case!" The German shepherd yelled.

"I'm ready for a ruff ruff rescue!" Marshall affirmed.

All of a sudden, the pup pad started ringing. "Oh come on, please tell me Adventure Bay doesn't need rescuing…" Ben groaned.

"It's Carlos…?" Ryder gasped. Ryder pressed the pup pad to take the call.

Ben's heart melted when the most adorable potcake with the biggest ears he had ever seen popped up on screen. Alex, the wolf cub, started laughing.

"¡Buenos días! My name is Tracker. I have reached the PAW Patrol, ¿verdad?" The potcake asked.

"¡Verdad! I mean, yes, it is!" Ryder answered.

"Hola." Ben greeted.

"Your friend Carlos needs your help! He's fallen into a... dark hole." Tracker announced, whimpering out the last part.

"We know, and we're on our way, little guy." Ryder promised.

"Okay, turn left when you see a big, scratchy palm tree, then go down to the stinky bush and turn right." Tracker told them.

"Thanks Tracker! We can see your location from the cell phone." Ryder replied.

"Hurry! ¡Deprisa, por favor! Please!" Tracker suddenly said, before running off. Ben hit the gas pedal even harder as they headed to Tracker's location.

"Almost there…" Ryder sighed in relief.

The pups had their heads stuck out the window. "I think I smell that stinky bush Tracker talked about!" Rubble chuckled.

They suddenly passed a potcake that was being chased by a snake. "That looks like Tracker!" Chase cried out.

"AND A REALLY BIG SNAKE!" Marshall yelled. Alex stuck his head out the window and let out an ear-piercing snarl, which made the snake glance at the PAW Patroller before slithering off in fear.

"¡Gracias! That was a close one!" Tracker exclaimed.

"Thanks Alex! Now let's get Carlos out of the pit. PAW Patrol, roll to the rescue!" Ben told everyone. The two humans dismounted in their ATV and motorcycle, Alex riding in the basket of Ben's vehicle. Chase and Marshall took their pupmobiles to the pit.

"Your amigo is down there, in the... dark." Tracker whimpered.

It was bright enough out that they could see Carlos without the need for night vision. "Am I glad to see you, Chase." Carlos gratefully said.

Chase barked out his winch and tossed it down to Carlos, before having the winch retract and get Carlos out of the pit. While Ben and Marshall examined Carlos for injuries, Alex giggled as he saw Tracker. "DUMBO!" Alex giggled, flopping on his belly and flailing his legs in the air.

"Hey! I am NOT dumb!" Tracker argued.

Something in Ben's head clicked. "No, no. He's not calling you dumb, Tracker, there's a character in this movie called Dumbo that you remind him of. Dumbo had very big ears." Ben explained.

"Oh. Um… gracias , I guess?" Tracker hesitantly said.

Then Carlos was given the a-okay by Ben and Marshall. "Just a small scrape to your knee, nothing that a bandage won't solve." Ben assured.

Tracker ran up to Carlos and leapt into his arms. "Wow, you must be Tracker!" Carlos exclaimed.

"¡Sí! I am! And I'm so happy you're okay." Tracker answered, before giving Carlos several licks.

"He's adorable, brave, and he's got skill. Ryder?" Ben chuckled. Ryder nodded his head in agreement.

Back at the PAW Patroller, Ben made a badge, and walked out with it behind his back. "In honor of being such a brave pup, and helping Carlos, I present to you, the newest member of the PAW Patrol... Tracker, PAW Patrol Emerald!" Ryder announced.

Everyone clapped and cheered as the potcake walked out of the PAW Patroller. "You look pawsome!" Rubble complimented.

"My very own PAW Patrol pup tag and pup pack? This is amazing!" Tracker happily said.

"Hope you like the special gear Rocky and I picked out for you. We installed a multi tool, and cables for you to sling around the jungle with." Ben proudly told the pup.

"Muchas gracias, PAW Patrol!" Tracker shouted in delight. He barked out his multitool and cables after Rocky showed him how to do it, finding great enjoyment in being able to launch himself from tree to tree.

"Too bad you don't have a Mandy finder in your pup pack, Tracker. She's out in the jungle somewhere with that golden crown." Carlos sighed.

Tracker flapped his ears as he narrowed his eyes in concentration. "¡Un momento! I hear... a banana being peeled, and... the 'ting-ting' of something metal banging against a tree trunk." Tracker responded.

"That's gotta be Mandy!" Carlos said.

"Wow, how can you hear so well, Tracker?" Rubble asked in amazement.

"I'm all ears!" Tracker joked, earning laughter from everyone.

"So, let's use Tracker's super-hearing to track down Mandy, and get that crown back. Where are the sounds coming from?" Ryder mused.

Tracker turned in a direction and pointed his paw. "That way!" Tracker proclaimed.

"All right. Skye, fly your copter in that direction and see if you can spot Mandy from up high. When we find her, Tracker can use his cables to get up to her and take back the crown. If she falls, Chase can catch her with his net." Ryder instructed.

"You got it, Ryder, sir!" Chase reported.

"Let's take to the skies!" Skye yipped, before getting in her copter.

Tracker's ears perked up as he heard Mandy moving, and leapt into the air to start swinging with his cables. "Those cables are swingin!" Carlos commented as he leapt into Ryder's ATV.

Ben got on his motorcycle. "Pups, the rest of you stick with the PAW Patroller and await further instructions." Ben told Rubble, Marshall, Zuma, Rocky, and Alex. He then revved up his bike and took off.

After about a solid forty-five minutes of chasing Mandy, Tracker announced they were getting really close. "Skye, Tracker says that we're really close. Can you spot Mandy from up there?" Ryder radioed.

Skye used her goggles to zoom in, scanning the treetops before responding. "Suspect sighted! Third palm tree on your left!" Skye replied.

Tracker used his cables to launch himself up to the treetop, before snatching the crown with his mouth. "¡Entiendo! I got it!" Tracker grunted as he lowered himself back to the ground.

Mandy came to join them and sat on a rock. "Thanks for getting the crown back, PAW Patrol. Sorry, Mandy, but this isn't ours. It belongs to a lost tribe of monkeys waiting for their queen." Carlos told the monkey girl.

Ben noted that it was beginning to get dark. "Probably too dangerous to drive around out here in the dark… we can settle down for the evening here." Ben suggested.

Ryder nodded his head and called the Patroller with his pup pad. "Hello!" Rubble greeted.

"Hi Ryder!" Rocky barked.

"Hey Ben!" Marshall enthusiastically chimed in.

"Hi Wyder!" Zuma squeaked.

"BENNN!" Alex howled.

"Hi pups! You stay with the PAW Patroller. We'll be camping out here for the night." Ryder revealed.

All of the canines voiced their approval. "A jungle campout sounds like fun!" Rubble cheered.

Tracker whined and tucked his tail between his legs. "Not to me. I'm afraid of the dark. Me pone nervioso… it makes me nervous." Tracker whimpered.

"Really? We think you're super brave!" Chase exclaimed.

"Gracias, but I hear so much with my big ears, I start to think it's something spooky." Tracker explained.

"Don't worry, Tracker. We'll keep you company, and we'll build a campfire to give off some light. Plus, if any monsters do come along, I'll punch their lights out!" Ben reassured the potcake.

Tracker's eyes widened. "You'd punch a monster in the face?!" Tracker exclaimed, both awed and impressed.

"I already did once on Jake's mountain! Farmer Yumi taught me martial arts when I was younger." Ben chuckled.

As they sat around the campfire that evening, Ben retold the story of him, Rubble, and Everest investigating the rumored sightings of the Adventure Bay Snow Monster. When the young man was finished with his tale of mystery, suspense, and heroism, Tracker clapped his paws together in applause. "¡Asombroso! That's amazing, Benjamin!" Tracker cried out.

Ben let out a laugh before yawning. "Storytelling takes a lot out of me. I'm headed to bed… night everyone!" Ben wearily said, before curling up in his sleeping bag.

A few hours later, Tracker woke up everyone after he heard something. At first, everyone thought it was nothing important, before rustling in the leaves and trees were heard. "I heard that!" Chase nervously yipped. Ben leapt to his feet as he heard the crashing movements, the exhaustion leaving his body as adrenaline began to flow in his veins. Ben saw a blur jump into their campsite and snatch the crown from Carlos's grip.

"The crown's been taken!" Ben yelled. He pulled his high powered flashlight out of his tool belt and turned it on, shining it in the direction of the movement. He saw multiple monkeys tossing the crown around.

"We got multiple robbers… monkeys. And they're getting away!" Ben cried out as the monkeys ran into the night.

"Let's go after them! I'll track em with my nose!" Chase growled, catching their scent and sniffing them out.

"Skye, see if you can spot them in the air." Ryder ordered. Skye nodded and got in her helicopter, flying up above the canopy to search for them. Tracker followed with his cables, Ryder and Carlos in Ryder's ATV, and Ben on his motorcycle.

Soon, Skye spotted them with the magnification feature on her goggles. "I found the monkeys, you guys! They're headed for the temple!" Skye shouted. Ryder pressed his pup pad to call the patroller.

"Pups! Meet us at the temple ruins. We've got to recover that ancient crown… again." Ryder instructed.

Alex, Rubble, Zuma, Rocky, and Marshall yawned and got up. "We're on our way!" They all yelled. "Bring the battery powered walkies, Alex." Ben called out.

They arrived at the temple close to sunrise.

"The monkeys went in here with the crown. It'll take all of us to find it." Ryder mused.

"It won't be easy. This temple is full of secret passageways and underground tunnels…" Carlos sighed.

"More dark places? ¡Oi, oi, oi...!" Tracker nervously said.

"Better get started. Let's split into two search parties to cover more ground. Ryder, take this walkie talkie. If our phones die, we'll be able to communicate with them." Ben instructed.

Tracker nervously walked backwards. "I hear something…" The potcake muttered anxiously, before a creak was heard. Ben turned around to see Carlos, Ryder, Tracker, Rubble, Marshall, and Skye get whisked to a different part of the temple by a rotating section of the wall. Tracker must have stepped on a pressure plate!

Ben's blood ran cold as he realized the danger they were in. The eighteen year old grabbed a large stick from the floor of the temple and began to swing it across the ground. Glancing back at the remaining members of the group, he counted Mandy, Chase, Rocky, Zuma, and Alex. "All right! Everyone, single file formation behind me! NOW! I don't want to set off any more traps!" Ben commanded.

The pups and monkey immediately understood the severity of the situation and lined up behind him. "This is the way." Ben decided as they started heading down a dark corridor. Using his flashlight to illuminate the hall. To his surprise, he saw that there was nothing but a stone wall in front of them.

"Dead end, dude!" Zuma pointed out. "Or maybe they want us to think it's a dead end!" Rocky suggested.

"My thoughts exactly, Rocky." Ben replied as he began to use his stick to canvas the floor in front of him, until he felt a subtle height difference between the section they were standing on and the section in front of them. Pressing down on the stick for the section in front of them, the floor slid down to reveal a slide. "Knew there was a secret passage!" Ben smirked confidently as he got on the slide and slid down. The rest of the pups followed suit.

With Ben's cautiousness and single file method, they were able to avoid activating a tripwire. Eventually they came across a group of monkeys, who activated a trap with a giant coconut. "RUN!" Ben screamed as the giant coconut rolled towards them, threatening to flatten them.

Alex saw a section to the side which would keep them out of the way of the coconut. "There! The alcove!" The wolf cub howled as he dove in there. Ben and the rest leapt out of the way of the coconut just before it smashed into a wall and left a puddle of milk on the ground.

"Everyone okay?" Ben asked, panting. "Better than okay! I love coconut!" Zuma giggled, slurping up some of the milk.

"How'd you know to look for an alcove anyways, Alex?" Rocky asked. "Video games! They always have an alcove to hide in when you're being chased by a giant rolling thingy!" Alex answered. Everyone laughed at that. Mandy shrieked, causing the group to go over to her.

Over there, they found a room with a throne and several stone statues. "Pups, look up there! This must be the throne room of the lost monkey tribe Cap'n Turbot told us about. The legend he spoke of is true… those monkeys really are waiting for their leader to return!" Ben gasped.

One of the monkeys placed the crown on a pressure plate, causing the door to slam behind the group and make the ceiling shake. A stone structure began to rise out of the ground.

"Oh no… another booby trap! We need backup!" Ben exclaimed. His phone wasn't getting any reception, so Ben pulled the walkie talkie out from his belt. "Ryder, Carlos, we're stuck in an underground chamber and we need backup ASAP!" Ben yelled into the walkie.

"Got it, Ben. We'll get you out of there!" Ryder promised. The ceiling around them began to fall.

Fifteen or so minutes later, a side door in the room opened up. Tracker, Ryder, Carlos, Skye, Marshall, and Rubble walked in. All of a sudden, the ceiling's tremors stopped. Ben looked back to see Mandy wearing the crown and holding a golden banana.

"No freaking way… the monkey queen was Mandy this entire time?" Ben gasped.

The pups started to howl, before they all started to head out. While they walked out of the temple, Ben silently suggested to Ryder that they give the spare vehicle in the PAW Patroller to Tracker, which Ryder approved of.

"It's time for us to head back to Adventure Bay, but before we go, Tracker, we'd like to give you a gift to say gracias . Ready, Rocky?" Ryder called out when they were packing up.

The back of the paw patroller opened up to reveal a Jeep, which Rocky drove out to the rest of the group.

"A JEEP!? Just for me?!" Tracker squealed in glee.

"¡Si!" Everyone else answered in unison.

"I'm all ears, and now I'm all gears! ¡Muchas gracias, amigos! " Tracker exclaimed as he hopped into his jeep. Ryder, Ben, and the pups got in the PAW Patroller to go back home.

You didn't think I would leave the most precious bean in the Paw Patrol out, did you? Tracker is the most adorable pup in the group, and I had to bring him in during the first season!
