Season 2 Episode 8: Pups Save The Deer! Everest And Marshall's Special Spark!

February 7th, 2030

Ben whistled as he helped Alex clean off the top of his electrician van, which was covered in snow. In fact, save for his motorcycle and Ryder's ATV, all of the Paw Patrol's vehicles were covered in the white frozen water. "Mine's cleared!" Skye yipped as she hopped off of her snow pile that she had made to clean the roof of her helicopter.

"Mine too!" Chase barked as he ran over to Skye, and grinned as he saw her.

The two pups started to play with each other as Ben walked over to Marshall's fire truck, and started to clean it off. "Thanks Ben!" Marshall gratefully said as he walked out of his fire truck pup house before ending up trapped under a pile of snow that Rubble pushed off.

The twins saw this and ran over to help the dalmatian out, uncovering him from the pile of white frost. "Thanks, you two!" Marshall chuckled to Tuck and Ella.

"No problem!" Tuck exclaimed.

"Anything to help a friend!" Ella answered.

The pups began to build a snowman, and Ben grinned as he watched them. "Do you wanna build a snowman?" Ben asked Ryder in a singsong voice.

The seventeen year old laughed as he shoveled snow out of the garage exit. "I swear, a lot of the time, I'm the more mature one of the group." Ryder teased Ben.

"Oh!? Ryder, I'm hurt. How am I not mature?" Ben joked.

"Well, you wear the Mighty Morphin Green Ranger suit." Ryder snickered.

"Yeah, and you didn't turn your Red Ranger suit into a rescue armor." Ben argued.

His friend shrugged, before Ben went off to get some branches to help with the snowman the pups were building. They had just finished the second snowball and Rocky was about to launch the head when Ryder called them. "PAW Patrol, to the Lookout!" Ryder's voice called out.

"Ryder's calling!" The pups all yelled.

"Just as we were about to finish the snowman…" Alex whimpered as they started to run up to the Lookout lobby.

Rocky released the spring on his snowball launcher, causing Marshall to get stuck inside and tumble into the Lookout elevator, enveloping the elevator floor in snow and causing it to resemble a mini snow globe. "It looks beautiful!" Tuck giggled.

"Like being in a snow globe!" Ella added.

The pups laughed as Ben got a portable high powered hair dryer and used it to melt the snow covering the canines so the mechanical arms at the halfway point could dress them properly. When the elevator reached the control room, everyone lined up in front of Ryder. "PAW Patrol, ready for action, Ryder, sir!" Chase reported.

"Thanks for racing up in the cold, pups. We've got an emergency on Adventure Bay. Some deer were trying to cross the frozen bay to get food, but the ice is too slick and they can't get their footing, leaving them stranded out on the ice. Cap'n Turbot tried to help, but he got stuck too. We have to get them all on land before they get too cold, hungry and tired." Ryder explained, giving them a rundown of the situation.

"That's awful!" Marshall exclaimed.

"It is. But the ice is so slick that I want to minimize the risk of vehicle crashes. That's why for this mission I'll need the following pups. Zuma, I need you to use your hovercraft and buoy to tow back one of the deer." Ryder continued, giving Zuma his assignment.

"Let's dive in!" Zuma cheered.

"I need another vehicle that can handle all that ice, and I know just the pup." Ryder chuckled, swiping on his pup pad and selecting their mountain pup's icon.

"EVEREST!" Everyone yelled happily as her pup tag's symbol appeared on the screen before a face view of Everest showed up.

"Everest, I need you and Jake to use your snowcat and patrol sled to help rescue some stranded deer. We'll meet the two of you out on the bay." Ryder instructed.

"We're on it! Ice or snow, I'm ready to go!" The husky and her owner promised, before Everest yelled out her catchphrase.

"The rest of you will stay behind and be on standby in case we need you. Marshall, we may need you to look over the deer and warm them up or treat their injuries. PAW Patrol is on a roll!" The seventeen year old declared as he took the fire pole to the garage, while Zuma took the slide down to his hovercraft.

"Well, since we're all here together, and Zuma isn't a big fan of the show, how about we watch some more of Batman The Animated Series?" Ben suggested.

"YEAH!" Chase, Skye, Marshall, Rocky, Rubble, Alex, Tuck, and Ella exclaimed. Ben got the show set up on the control room monitor and walked over to the periscope to keep an eye on the situation.

Zuma and Ryder rode out onto the ice, where they were joined by Everest and Jake. Jake was riding in the back of Everest's snowcat. "So Ryder dude, what's the plan?" Jake asked.

"Zuma and I will help the doe while you and Everest take care of the buck, Jake. We'll need to approach them slowly in order to not startle them." Ryder replied as he drove his ATV snowmobile across the ice.

"You got it, dude!" Jake answered.

"Sure thing, Ryder!" Everest arfed.

The group circled around the two deer, slowing down and coming to a halt before glancing at the two deer. "They look so tiwed…" Zuma murmured sadly.

"And hungry. Good thing I brought some food for them. I'll keep her busy with some carrots while you slip the buoy under her." Ryder remarked as he pulled out some of the orange vegetables from his coat pocket.

"Gweat idea!" Zuma barked. The spiky haired teen held the carrots out, coaxing the doe to stand up. "Ruff ruff, buoy!" The chocolate Labrador whispered, his hovercraft's front opening up and deploying a buoy that landed underneath the doe's feet.

"Woof woof, sled!" Everest growled, making her snowcat's back compartment open up and eject its sled. "Now we just have to get him on the sled." Ryder mused. Jake puffed up his chest in pride, knowing that this was his time to shine.

"And that's why I'm here, Evvie! Time for my works-every-time deer call." Jake confidently said, before clearing his throat and making a deer call. However, the call didn't manage to lure the buck. "Hm, maybe a baby deer call would work better." Jake thought out loud, using a higher pitched call. Using that, the buck was drawn into the sled.

"Yes! Good work you two!" Ryder complimented.

"Yeah! Gimme some paw, Jake!" Everest crowed, high fiving Jake with her paw.

As they split up, with Ryder going to get Captain Turbot, Ryder heard a high pitched whinny. Looking at the source of the noise, Ryder gasped as he saw a deer fawn on the island. "Marshall, can you come with your fire truck? You and Everest are needed to help get a baby fawn off of the island." Ryder radioed the Lookout.

The communication came across to the tower and Ben sighed in relief since the episode had just concluded. "We can watch another episode later, Marshall. For now, go and help the group." Ben told the dalmatian.

"Got it Ben!" Marshall shouted before taking the slide to his fire truck. As he rode out onto the ice, Everest and Jake drove up beside him. "Hi Marshall!" Everest chuckled.

Marshall blushed as he looked at Everest. Ever since he had met the husky, he had felt special feelings for her. The only one that he had confided in about those feelings was Chase.

Chase told him that he had a bit of a crush on Everest, knowing first hand what those feelings were due to his own personal crush on Skye. Every time that he had seen Everest, Marshall had worked up his courage to ask her to do something with him. And now, at this moment, he was feeling more confident than ever. "Hey Everest! I was thinking! After we help this deer out, how about we go get some pup treats together?" Marshall suggested

Everest smiled and nodded her head as they got up to the outcropping of Rock Island. "I'd love to, Marshall!" Everest cheered. Jake was the first one off of the snowcat, and Marshall hopped out of his fire truck onto the island. As Everest went to unbuckle her seat belt, a loud cracking and shifting noise was heard directly underneath the vehicles. "Uh oh…" Everest whimpered as the ice beneath her snowcat broke, causing her and the snowcat to fall into the icy waters.

"EVEREST!" Jake, Marshall, and Ben yelled. Ben was watching from the Lookout tower periscope. Without a second thought, Marshall tossed his firefighting hat off of his head and dove into the frigid ocean after the husky.

"OH MY GOD! Marshall just dove into the water after Everest!" Ben panicked.

Marshall swam down a few feet deep to see Everest struggling with undoing her seat belt. With a nod, Marshall shivered as he helped undo the clasp and the two pups swam up to the surface. Both gasped for air when they hit the surface, the frozen waters starting to set in through their fur. They were out of reach for Ryder and Jake. Skye jumped up and saw the periscope, then she started to paw at Ben's leg. "Ben, give me the shard! NOW!" Skye demanded.

The eighteen year old stopped in his tracks. "What do you mean, give you the shard!?" Ben asked in confusion.

"Don't play dumb with me! Marshall yammered all about how you tossed him the shard that you use in your little transforming thingy to armor up, and how he used it to save you from that pack of wolves! Zuma's hovercraft isn't very good on the ice, he might end up overshooting them when he needs to give them a buoy! Marshall and Everest can only stay afloat for so long, and my jetpack is still missing some parts that won't be here for another day or two! LET ME SAVE THEM!" Skye yelled at Ben.

Ben was taken aback by Skye's decisiveness and determination. Nodding in understanding, he opened up his morpher and leaned forward, grabbing a pup tag with Skye's emblem and pressing a button to open it up. "SPD and I made new pup tags yesterday that were designed to contain these meteor shards." Ben explained as he placed his meteor shard into the pup tag's compartment, the orange cosmic energy from the meteor being pulled into the tubes before Ben closed the pup tag's compartment up.

Fastening the pup tag around Skye, the cockapoo gasped as she felt her Mighty Pup costume materialize around her. "The Tempestuous Gale, Mighty Pup Pink! This mighty puppy's going for a spin!" Skye shouted as her wind rider wings sprouted to life, a whirlwind forming beneath her as she took into the air. Flying faster than she had ever before, even faster than when she had flown the rest of the group to the Lookout when it was heading into space, Skye quickly reached the two pups that were flailing in the ocean to stay afloat and lifted them up by catching them in her whirlwind. "Zuma, you take care of the deer. Ryder and Jake will have to assess their injuries without Marshall. He needs medical attention and warmth, stat!" Skye yelled to her little brother, who was shocked at seeing her in her Mighty Pup costume.

"Marshall! Everest!" Rocky cried out as Skye flew them into the lookout.

The two pups were looking VERY dizzy due to being flown by Skye's whirlwind and spinning around like crazy. Setting them down and ejecting the mighty meteor shard from her pup tag, Skye tossed the meteor piece back to Ben as Alex, Rocky, and Chase came up from the Lookout Lobby with blankets, covering the two drenched pups in the blankets while Ben checked their temperature. "Ninety-eight, that's hypothermia levels." Ben worriedly said as the temperature scans came back.

"What's hypothermia?" Alex asked.

"The pound people taught us that hypothermia means someone is really, really cold!" Tuck yelped.

"We gotta warm em up!" Ella agreed as she and her twin brother dove underneath the blanket and pressed up against the husky and dalmatian.

"Of course, sharing body heat will help them warm up! Everyone, cuddle pile!" Ben exclaimed.

The other pups present piled up on top of Marshall and Everest, warming them up. "T-T-thanks…" Marshall shivered, still cold from his frozen dip.

"I-I don't think I've ever b-b-been this c-c-cold in my l-l-life! T-thanks for saving me, M-Marshall…" Everest stammered, her teeth clattering together.

"A-anytime, Ev…" Marshall sighed. Ryder, Jake and Zuma radioed back that they had managed to get the baby deer back to shore, and had called Katie to take a look at the deer for injuries, while Zuma would retrieve the Snowcat with his submarine.

"Marshall, you did a very brave thing diving in to save Everest. I'm very proud of you." Ryder told their spotted EMT pup.

"H-happy to help." Marshall weakly chuckled. Ben bent down and patted Skye on the head.

"You did a good job today taking charge in the crisis, Skye. I think you'd be a good tertiary leader." Ben told the cockapoo as he stroked her fur.
