Season 2 Episode 19: Ben In Adventure City! Special Agent PAW Patrol Peach!

March 3rd, 2030

Adventure City, California

Ben and Alex had been at the Adventure City Lookout, where they had been doing observation work on the election and doing discreet surveillance on Mayor Humdinger, who was currently running for mayor in the city. They had gotten themselves lost while trying to get around the city, and now Ben's phone was out of battery. "Dammit. We're lost, my phone is out of power, and it's going to get dark soon." Ben groaned.

"Well, it sounds like you could use some help, stranger!" A voice piped up.

Alex growled and got on his paws, ready to fight if needed. Ben spun around and saw that a small dachshund was sitting at his feet. He relaxed at the sight of this dog. "Don't startle me like that. But yes, I do need some help. Alex and I have gotten lost in this city. We're currently staying at the SPD headquarters in town." Ben told the dachshund.

"Well lucky for you, I know this city like the back of my paw! Hi. My name is Liberty. You work with SPD!? Wow, that's awesome! Those guys are like police throughout the whole universe right?" Liberty asked.

Ben nodded his head yes. "Well, we work with SPD. They're allowing us to house our gear and stay at their base. I made a deal with their commander. In actuality, me and Alex are members of the Paw Patrol." Ben explained.

At this, Liberty squealed. "OH! MY! GOSH! You guys are in the Paw Patrol!? You're my heroes! And you guys got superpowers too! You're a full fledged Ranger team!" Liberty gushed.

Alex puffed his chest out in pride. "Wow, people are talking about us outside of Adventure Bay!?" Alex gasped.

"Yeah! Wolf dude, don't you know that there's a ton of merchandise!? That stuff sells like crazy!" Liberty answered. Liberty started to lead them through the sidewalks. "I'll get you to that tower of yours in no time! So what are two blokes like you doing in Adventure City? Aren't ya busy doing rescues in Adventure Bay?" Liberty wondered.

"Well, between you and me… it has something to do with the upcoming election." Ben whispered.

Liberty nodded her head. "Ohh, I getcha! I think I know who you've got your eye on. It's that top hat wearing, no-good ding dong, eh?" Liberty asked, making sure not to drop any names.

"If by that you mean the former official from Foggy Bottom, yes. When I heard he was running for office here in Adventure City, I knew that I had to investigate. We have… history with him." Ben replied.

"Yeah, I've seen him around. He's a real smooth talker, I'll tell ya that. But from what I heard about from Foggy Bottom, he ain't exactly the best with money. You would think that would dissuade people from voting for him, and encourage more people to run against him, but I've heard that people have been dropping out of the election!" Liberty revealed.

"Dropping out of the election? For what reasons?" Alex wondered.

Liberty did the best impression of a shrug that she could. "Beats me. I think he's bribing them or something." Liberty responded.

"We have to get to the bottom of this!" Ben swore.

"I'd like to get to the bottom of that barrel as well, fellas! This is my home, and I wanna protect it! We all have to take pride in our city." Liberty agreed.

Ben was touched by this remark from Liberty. As they continued to walk, Ben decided to ask her a question. "Liberty, what's your life like? Do you have a family, an owner?" Ben inquired.

Liberty perked her head up. "Well, aren't you a curious dude? I used to have an owner and parents! My mom was named Hope, and my dad was named Freedom! We lived with Mister Mason, who was a propane salesman at the Megalomart. He specialized in propane and propane accessories! Then there was an accident. Some idiot was dragging one of the tanks across the floor by the handle when it blew up. We lived in the ruins of the store for a while, then my parents and I got taken by the pound people. Freedom and Hope were really protective of me, and they bit one of the pound people. That… made them get put down… I stuck with them until the end, and then I made my escape from that place after they passed. But they told me to never stop believing in the good of everyone. To be kind and to support this city even in the darkest of times!" Liberty explained. She sniffled a little at the memories. "Gosh, and now you got me tearing up. Heh. You sure do know how to treat a woman, Benny." Liberty joked, a few tears dropping down her face.

Alex ran up and hugged her. "That's so sad! No one should have to go through that!" Alex whimpered.

"I know, little wolf, but that's just how life is sometimes! It's not fair, but it's not unfair either! It just… is that way, ya know?" Liberty remarked.

Ben looked up to see that they were standing right outside the Adventure City Lookout Tower. "Well, you're at your stop. Guess this is where I leave you." Liberty sighed as she started to trod off into the streets.

"Are you kidding? No way! You're one of the strongest and smartest pups I've ever met. And you got connections! Come on in with me. I want to thank you for helping guide us back to our base." Ben told her, scooping her into his arms so she wouldn't be able to refuse.

"O-oh my! Why, thank you!" Liberty squeaked in surprise.

Liberty and Alex shared a bunch of liver sausages together as Ben watched them. The two certainly had chemistry, and Liberty was a brave girl. She could be their eyes and ears in the city. "Say, Liberty. You could stay with us here in the tower for a few days if you want! And you could help us dig up dirt on Mayor Humdinger and help us out." Ben suggested.

"Really!? That'd be awesome! Beats the bench that I sleep on with a newspaper blanket! I'm in!" Liberty exclaimed. Alex howled in delight, and Liberty joined him in the howl. The two went to sleep together as Ben made a new entry in his diary.

It was the middle of the day when the group got back to the Adventure City Lookout. Almost two weeks of surveillance and monitoring Mayor Humdinger, and they still hadn't figured out how he was managing to convince his opponents in the mayoral election to drop out. He certainly wasn't murdering them or threatening them with anything. Ben had interviewed some of them and they hadn't been able to give him any concrete answers. In addition, he had begun work on several vehicles for the Paw Patrol in case they would need to perform rescues here in the city.. It was unlikely, as Adventure City had an excellent police force and fire department, but it always came in handy to be prepared for anything.

Ben was writing down about his confusion regarding this problem when he got a call from Marshall. Answering, he saw Marshall in front of Chase, Skye, and Zuma. All three of those pups were lying down on the ground and looking miserable. "Marshall, what's happened!?" Ben asked.

"Our team is coming down with a cold! Tuck and Ella seem to be immune, so they're with Wild and are out on a rescue to get the pigs back to their pen at Farmer Yumi and Al's, but we're going to be out of commission for a few days. Sorry Ben, but we need you and Alex back here in Adventure Bay!" Marshall explained.

"Darn it. Okay Marshall, we'll be there soon." Ben promised as the call ended.

"You're leaving? But we haven't figured out how Mayor Humdinger is making his opponents quit yet!" Liberty protested.

Ben sighed as he patted Liberty on the head. "You know how you said that protecting your home was important? Well, Adventure Bay is home for me and Alex, and the town needs us right now. Several of the other Paw Patrol members are sick." Ben told her.

"Okay…" Liberty huffed.

"Liberty. While I'm gone... I need someone to keep a watchful eye over this city. Someone with connections. Someone like... you." Ben then said. Liberty's eyes widened as she craned her head upwards to look at Ben. The eighteen year old bent down on his knees and pulled a collar out of his pocket.

"As the highest ranked operative of the PAW Patrol currently residing in Adventure City, it is well within my power to deputize people and induct them into the team for a temporary period of time, with lower power than my own. Liberty, this is a great responsibility that I will bestow on you. Are you ready to take on this role?" Ben asked.

"Absolutely, sir! I'll do my darndest to protect this city, you know that. Especially if it means helping the Paw Patrol!" Liberty proudly said, giving Ben a puppy salute.

"Then I am proud to christen you as an honorary member of the group: Paw Patrol Peach." Ben announced, wrapping a peach colored pup tag with the symbol of a skyscraper on it.

"You will report to me and me alone. Ryder does not know about the operation going on here, and he won't know until Humdinger makes his move. There may not even be another operation here if he loses the election. Paw Patrol Peach, your assignment is to monitor the election and report back on a daily basis. When the winner is revealed, you will call me as soon as possible. If the winner is Humdinger, then you will call the entire team. Do you understand this assignment, Liberty?" Ben questioned.

"One hundred percent. I won't let you down, Benny!" Liberty promised.

"We'll be hearing from you soon, Liberty. See you!" Ben waved her goodbye as he hopped on his motorcycle and Alex got in his electrician van. The two drove off into the streets as they started to head back home to Adventure Bay.
