Season 3 Episode 8: CATS AND DOGS UNITE! PAW PATROL MOVIE PART FIVE!

Chase groaned as he was dumped into a kennel and thrown into the back of Butch's van, driven to some colorful building. The kennel was cramped and rather small, with no holes for him to look out of. The only thing he could see out of was the kennel door, so he had little to no idea of where he was. "You can't do this to me! I'm a member of the PAW Patrol!" Chase yelled desperately in an attempt to get out of this mess.

"Not anymore! Now you're just the sad little puppy who failed both of his adventure city rescues. Don't worry, you won't be alone! You'll have time to make some new feline friends, and your old puppy pals will be joining you soon enough!" Butch cackled as he tossed Chase's kennel in a room that was painted to look like a jungle.

"GOOD LUCK TRYING TO SOLVE THE CASE WITH A CLOGGED UP NOSE AND CONSTANT SNEEZING!" Ruben laughed maniacally, taunting Chase before slamming the door and leaving him in the room.

The German Shepherd's eyes widened in horror as the scent of cats hit his nostrils, causing him to sneeze. Great, his allergies were acting up. Now he was going to be coughing and sniffling and achooing for who knows how long. Chase could hear movement outside of his kennel and see shapes darting in front of his kennel door. "Hey, a dog! I haven't seen a dog in over two whole months!" A young male voice exclaimed.

"I hope he's nice. It'd be awful to be stuck in here with a mean mutt. Remember our last canine client, Hubcap? Real nasty piece of work." A female voice commented.

"He looks really scared… I'm going to get his cage opened up." A second female voice chimed in.

A black cat crawled in front of Chase's kennel door and some of her fur wafted inside his cage, causing him to sneeze. "S-stop! ACHOO! A-allergies…" Chase coughed out.

The black cat stopped for a second. "Oh no! Our new friend is allergic to us!? What are we going to do, Shade!?" The male voice asked.

The black cat, Shade, thought about it, and then resumed fidgeting with Chase's kennel door. "I- ACHOO! Said stop!" Chase sneezed.

"Look, pup, if you stay in that kennel, you're not going to get any food or water, and you'll be getting whiffs full of cat hair soon enough. I have a solution for your allergy problem, it won't completely alleviate your sneezing but it'll make it manageable. This place used to be an obedience school, and before then it used to be an orphanage. Rory, Leo, and I have searched this room dozens of times to try and escape. We found a lot of stuff." Shade pointed out before the kennel door swung open, and Chase sneezed again.

Chase slowly walked up to the entrance of his kennel, and saw a room filled with kitten jungle gyms, a cupboard, and a cabinet. Chase sniffled. "How are you cats going to treat my allergies!?" The pup wondered.

"Rory, the cabinet." Shade instructed.

The white British shorthair cat leapt up onto the cupboard and used her claws to pry the doors open from the top. "Bottom shelf, there's a box. Open it up and put on one of the masks that's inside. Humans used it to block out allergens and viruses from getting in their nostrils. It should reduce the amount of sneezing our fur causes you." Shade told Chase.

Hesitating, he opened the box and put on the mask. He felt less… sneezy after that. "Now that you're out of that cage, we can introduce ourselves properly! Hi! I'm Rory, The black tuxedo cat over there is Shade, and the tabby is Leo!" Rory greeted Chase.

"Uh… thanks. What are you three doing here?" Chase wondered.

"We figured out the truth behind what's been happening in the city. Well, more so Rory and Shade. I'm kind of smart, but those two girls are really smart." Leo answered.

"Then why are you in maximum security? What's been happening in the city that made that guy lock you up?" Chase questioned.

"Those two guys in suits, Butch and Ruben, have some sort of plot to destroy Adventure City. They're using Mayor Humdinger to keep people busy while they charge up some sort of doomsday device." Shade explained.

"That's horrible!" Chase gasped.

All of a sudden, the other henchman, Ruben, opened the door, and set down five new kennels before leaving. "HEY! LET US OUT!" Marshall's voice shouted.

"Oh no!" Chase gasped, running up to the new kennel and seeing Marshall trapped inside.

"CHASE! You followed us and now you're going to free us from these cages?!" Marshall exclaimed, starting to smile and wag his tail.

"I wish… I got captured like you did…" Chase lamented.

Shade, Rory, and Leo quickly got to work on freeing Marshall, Skye, Rocky, Rubble, and Zuma from their cages. As they undid the kennel doors, Chase told the other five main PAW Patrol members about the discovery of the felines regarding Butch and Ruben's plan to destroy Adventure City. "That's not cool at all, dude!" Zuma yelped.

"Yeah! We gotta stop them!" Rubble growled.

"But how? We're trapped in this animal jail, and we don't have our pup tags to contact Ben and Ryder or lead them here!" Skye pointed out.

While the cats freed most of the pups, Rocky managed to use his pup pack to unscrew the door on his own kennel from the inside, which impressed Shade. "How did you manage to not lose your backpacks?" Leo wondered.

"Chase left his with Ben and Ryder at the hospital when he went off on his own, but we kept ours on when we went to find him. Only way to get these off without using heavy duty tools is with our voices. And since we got tranquilized, they couldn't have us use our voices to get 'em off. I think they're in a time crunch to get out of the city." Rocky explained.

"Then that means their doomsday device is going to go off soon if they want to be out of the city soon. Which means we gotta get out of here and warn people! It's a good thing we have a great hero to help lead us out of here!" Rory mused, before giving Chase a grin.

"I'm... not sure that I'm a hero. Not here in Adventure City. I've made so many mistakes here... I forgot to put my parachute away, I nearly died with that whole train thing, and I got captured." Chase sighed.

"Just a few moments, that's all it takes." Shade announced.

"Takes to what?" Marshall asked.

"To be a hero. Everyone thinks it's a full-time job!" Rory answered.

"Huh?" Skye murmured in confusion.

"What do you mean, dude?" Zuma questioned.

"Wake up a hero. Eat your food a hero. Drink your milk a hero! They think that you're always being a hero!" Leo snorted.

"That's ridiculous! It doesn't work like that!" Rocky scoffed.

"Yeah! You can't be a hero when eating breakfast!" Rubble added.

"Exactly! My theory surmises that over a lifetime, there are only a select few moments that really matter. Moments when you're offered a choice. To make a sacrifice, conquer a flaw, save a friend… or inspire hope in someone! In these moments, everything else falls away." Shade agreed.

Chase felt a surge of confidence, of hope and resolution. He's scared, yes. But with both his family and these new feline friends by his side, he can accomplish anything. "That's right. And right now, I'm choosing to be a hero! Pups! Cats! If we work together, we can free everyone who's been taken by Butch and Reuben, escape this prison they've put us in, and save Adventure City! ACHOO!" Chase exclaimed, before sneezing.

"YEAH!" The other five pups and three cats in the room cheered.

"Rocky, Shade! Put your heads together and crack open that security code!" Chase suggested.

"Screwdriver!" Rocky yelled out as his pup pack produced the tool arm. With some switching of the screwdriver head, they were able to open up the keypad panel and determine which of the buttons were in the unlock sequence.

"Now, when this door opens from this side, we're going to have to be ready to take down any people that come and try to stop us." Shade revealed.

"I got a box to throw with my shovel!" Rubble offered.

"I've got my water cannons!" Marshall pointed out.

"And I'm ready to pounce!" Rory added.

"Pups, if we can't knock the guard out or get him to run off, we're going to have to fight him." Chase solemnly said.

All the pups nodded in understanding. Ben and Ryder had told them only to bite when lives were in danger, and this was one of those times. Shade and Rocky input the sequence for the door lock, and it beeped before swinging open. Creeping out of the room, they saw a man standing in the middle of the hallway. "ARF! CANNONS!" Marshall shouted, hosing down the guard with his water blasters.

Rubble used his shovel like a catapult and hurled the box of masks at him, hitting him in the head pretty hard. Leo and Shade leapt onto his legs and started scratching at him like crazy. Yelping in surprise and pain, the guard shook off the cats before running off, dropping a credit card-like object as he fled the scene.

Rory grabbed the keycard with one of her front paws and leapt onto the card scanner, slashing the card through the scanning section and opening the door. Dogs started to trail out of the room, with one English Sheepdog running out and being recognized by Rory. "Barney!" Rory squealed, giving him a sisterly like lick of affection.

"Nice work, kittens! Thanks for freeing us. Gimme the keycard and I'll let all the other dogs loose!" Barney exclaimed.

Rory nodded as she placed the keycard on the floor for her canine companion. "Shade, Leo, Rory, come on! Can you take us to the Lookout?" Skye asked.

"Sure thing! We might not be as well versed in city stuff as that Dachshund, but we've visited that tower dozens of times. They give us spare parts they don't have any use for. Follow me!" Shade answered, guiding her feline friends and the PAW Patrol out of the building.

When they got into the clean city air, Chase tore off the breathing mask. Now that he was outside, his cat allergies would barely bother him.

As they got to the entrance of the Adventure City Lookout tower, they saw five people in tactical armor rushing out of the building with high power blasters. Behind them were Alex, Tuck, Ella, Wild, and Liberty. However, when they saw Chase, Marshall, Skye, Rocky, Rubble, and Zuma, they skidded to a halt. "PUPS!" Ryder's voice cried out as he tore off his helmet and got on his knees, spreading his arms.

"DAD!" The cockapoo, dalmatian, and German Shepherd all yelled in delight.

"RYDER!" Rocky, Rubble, and Zuma cheered.

Chase, Marshall, and Skye leapt into his arms while Rocky, Zuma, and Rubble tackled him in the stomach, causing Ryder to get knocked onto the floor and laugh as he snuggled the pups that had freed themselves. "I have so many questions…" The blue clad man said, removing his helmet to show that it was Jack.

"Darn, so you're telling me that all that begging the commander to let us go on this retrieval effort was for nothing?" The girl in pink gear groaned, taking off her helmet to reveal herself as Miko.

"How did you all manage to escape?" The yellow wearing one wondered, removing his gear and unmasking himself as Raf.

"We had some help from some new friends." Chase chuckled, looking back at Shade, Rory, and Leo, who were getting along pretty well with Wild.

"Well, I'm glad you all are okay. I was so worried, and Ryder was so angry and torn up that he removed himself from the hospital, and organized this whole rescue mission for you all." Ben sighed, relieved that they were all okay.

"There's no time for chit chat! We gotta tell you about what we found out!" Marshall reminded them.

Rubble and Zuma's stomachs growled at that moment. "Getting kidnapped got me all hungry…" Rubble giggled sheepishly.

"Shade, why don't you tell Ben and Ryder what you found out while we go and get some food in our bellies?" Skye suggested.

"Sure, let's get inside the Lookout. It looks like it's about to storm." Ryder answered, and they all headed inside.

As the pups chowed down on their well earned meal, the cats told the two human leaders of the PAW Patrol what they had discovered. "...and they apparently have some sort of doomsday weapon for the city in store!" Shade finished.

"That is very concerning. Do you have any idea what this doomsday device is?" Ben inquired.

The news showed Humdinger's newest speech. "Now, I know I've made some mistakes in the past couple of days. The firework festival? A fiasco. The Humdinger Hyperloop? A catastrophe. I'm extremely sorry for the danger I've put you in, but I want to try and make up for that. To add to the tourism of this wonderful city, I've created a brand new attraction: HUMDINGER HEIGHTS! I took the tallest skyscraper in Adventure City and stuck a brand-new tower on top, turning it into the tallest building in the world!" Henry exclaimed, with an aerial shot showing the purple tower. Ben whistled at that.

"He may not be the kindest man in the world, but he certainly has a good sense of style." Ben commented.

"I know, I know. You're all expecting this to go wrong. Well, this tower will not go wrong. It's extremely secure in terms of structure and building material, meant to withstand even the strongest of natural winds and storms! I set this record for you, Adventure City, because I truly want to make this place magical. My office, at the top, will always look down on you wonderful people, and it will shine throughout the evening, as a beacon of hope! I want you to look up to me and see that any man or woman can make a difference! Like my good friend Genevieve Goodway, who's currently managing affairs in Adventure Bay." Humdinger spoke.

Black storm clouds began to cover the sun, and Ben felt an ominous feeling from them. The interview was cut off by a call on the Paw Patrol hotline. Answering it, they saw the caller was a black woman with glasses, and she looked very distressed. "Hello, you've reached the Rescue Force Delta hotline. What's your emergency?" Ryder asked.

"What's the emergency!? The mesoscale convective system is causing exponential thermal lift and catastrophic downbursts at over 190 knots!" Her voice shrieked over the hotline.

Rocky spat out the water from his bowl onto the glass window and ran over as Shade uttered an expletive. "SHADE! If you're going to stay here, then you need to watch your language! I'm not going to let you teach my pups vulgar words like that! What about this situation warrants that sort of wording!?" Ryder scolded the tuxedo cat.

"Yeah, speak English, science lady!" Ben yelled.

"It's an extremely powerful storm, one that could potentially create a hurricane!" Rubble explained.

"But how is this possible?! Storms like that don't just form out of nowhere!" Rocky mused.

"Hold up, you understood her, Rubble!? How?!" Ryder gasped.

"Enough chit chat! Butch and Ruben, Mayor Humdinger's henchmen, stole the Cloud Catcher's controls and destroyed them. The Cloud Catcher was a device designed to capture clouds and bring them back to the university for study, and Mayor Humdinger suggested the idea of using it as a weather control device. The university and I agreed, and we began to use the cloud catcher to keep the skies clear of all cumuli. Butch and Ruben took the controls from me, and now the device has absorbed far too much! It's releasing everything it had in it as a massive storm that's estimated to be stronger than some of the strongest tornadoes in the past century!" The scientist continued.

"That's not good at all…!" Rubble gasped.

"It gets worse. We used a nuclear power source for the Cloud Catcher, and it was never meant to be left on this long. The fuel cell will reach a critical temperature soon, go into nuclear meltdown, and detonate within a few hours! If the flooding and extreme gale force winds don't destroy Adventure City, then that explosion certainly will!" The scientist urgently announced.

"See? Told you. Doomsday device." Rory grumbled, upset that Shade's worst fears had been confirmed.

"There's not enough time to evacuate everyone! Does that mean this is the end?!" Liberty shouted in horror.

"No! I refuse to let that happen! No machine is going to blow up Adventure City while Rescue Force Delta still breathes! WE DECIDE THE END OF THE STORY!" Ben shouted in determination.

"RESCUE FORCE ASSEMBLE!" Ryder declared.

Chase, Marshall, Skye, Rocky, Zuma, Rubble, Alex, Tuck, Ella, and Wild all ran to their dressing holes, while Liberty sighed. "Great. Have fun without me, you guys." Liberty sadly said, lowering her head.

Ben stopped her from leaving. "You know, Liberty, I've been thinking. You've been doing crowd control and working with us on our previous rescues for a few days now. And even before that, you were helping Ben keep an eye on Mayor Humdinger. That makes you an honorary member of the Rescue Force, doesn't it?" Ryder told her.

"I suppose you could say that. Your words, not mine." Liberty replied dejectedly.

"The only thing that's stopping you from being a full fledged member is the lack of a faster ride." Ryder chuckled.

"I know, I know, my ride's a rusty old wagon with a wonky wheel that goes 'eee-ooo-eee-ooo-eee-ooo.' You don't have to rub it in." Liberty groaned.

Ben grinned as he pulled a pup tag out of his pocket. He'd been waiting to give this to Liberty ever since they had arrived in Adventure City. Jack smiled as he pressed a button, causing a motorcycle that he had worked on with Ben to come out of the ground. Ben knelt down and showed her the tag, which had a peach colored background against a skyscraper. "Rescue Force Delta Peach. You have shown great fortitude and willingness to give aid to others. We have yet to create a pup pack for you, but this is a great crisis, and we need as many paws that are willing to help that we can find. Should you choose to accept, you will pilot the City Streaker Motorcycle and use it for the greater good. You will be required to put your life on the line to save others. Do you accept this offer, even though you fully know the risks of being a member of this team?" Ben solemnly said.

"Okay, Liberty, play it cool, play it cool. Ahhh! This is amazing! This is the greatest thing I've ever seen in my life! I've never been so happy! It's like my whole life has been building toward this moment! All my dreams have come true! It's so amazing! YES! OF COURSE I'LL BE A MEMBER OF RESCUE FORCE DELTA!" Liberty squealed happily.

Ben put the pup tag on her, and the collar glowed as it outfitted her in rescue gear. The motorcycle fired up and launched her down the Adventure City Lookout ramp, with Ben and Ryder following close behind her.
