Season 3 Episode 19: RESCUE FORCE AND THE TWIST IN TIME PART THREE

"We don't know for sure that Rubble is gone. We have a time machine." Gizmo pointed out.
"We have to go back one day in the past and save him." Ben ordered.
Gizmo nodded as he started charging up the time machine, and they were enveloped in a flash of light as they were teleported to the site of the battle.
March 2nd, 1881
The group appeared on the beach of Adventure Bay, witnessing cannonfire being exchanged between two pirate ships. "How are we supposed to get out there!? We don't have a boat!" Gizmo pointed out.
"Pups, it's time to get mighty!" Ben commanded.
"IT'S MORPHIN TIME!" Skye, Rocky, Marshall, and Zuma all yelled out together, pressing a paw to their pup tags.
Gizmo watched in confusion as armor surrounded the four Paw Patrol pups. "What in the world!?" Gizmo gasped.
"...What, your Paw Patrol doesn't have cool superpowers?" Skye asked.
The black Lab shook his head in response. "No. But I might as well have them." He replied, activating his helmet and shoes. His visor dropped over his eyes as his purple force field flashed around him momentarily. "Let's do this!" He cheered.
Rocky formed a boat with his green energy constructs and gestured for the rest of them to hop on. Skye hopped on, and with her whirlwind, they started to fly across the ocean surface, heading to the two battling ships. Coming up from behind one of them, they could see Rubble standing at the bow of the ship. An alert flashed in Gizmo's vizor, warning him that a cannonball was headed right towards Rubble! "That cannonball is going to hit him!" Gizmo cried out. Quickly reacting, Zuma fired off a blast of water that knocked the cannonball out of the air.
Rubble looked down at where the stream of water had come from and squealed as he saw his friends in their Mighty Pup forms, save Gizmo who didn't have one. "GUYS! YOU CAME!" Rubble shouted happily.
"Of course we came, we wouldn't just leave you behind in the past!" Ben told him.
"Help me and my crew out, these pirates plan on attacking Adventure Bay and pillaging the town! We can't let them do that!" Rubble yelled. The black stubble on his chin had grown quite considerably, apparently aided by some black dye. With her whirlwind rider powers, Skye lifted their boat onto Rubble's ship, and they regrouped with their beloved bulldog. "Yarr, I have a plan, me mateys! Skye, blow those cannonballs back with your whirlwind! Marshall, blast them with your fire! Rocky, Zuma, play defense and block their shots! Ben, you help Mike and my crew out with fighting the ones that have gotten on the ship!" Rubble commanded.
Gizmo looked at the enemy ship. "Guess that leaves me to sink the enemy ship, then." He said.
"Wait, sink the ship?!" Ben exclaimed, whipping his head around to see Gizmo.
But Gizmo had vanished. Ben could have sworn he was right there, but he had to refocus his attention on the task at hand, unable to look into the matter further. The ship's mast caught on fire from Marshall's attacks as Rocky generated a force field to intercept the cannon fire. Skye flew in and redirected shots at the ship, damaging it. The ship began to sink as it sailed away, raising a white flag in surrender as it started to dip into the water at an exponential rate.
Gizmo suddenly appeared in the midst of them, surprising everyone. "Where did you come from? How did you sink their ship, Gizmo?! And they won't capsize in the middle of the ocean, right?" Ben asked.
"Nah, they'll make it back to a port in time, I think. As for how, it was quite simple. I just snuck over behind the ship using my hover boots and metamaterial cloaker, carved a hole in the side, swam down, and used my shield sphere to cut out a two meter wide hole in the bottom." Gizmo explained.
As Skye, Zuma, Marshall, and Rocky canceled their Mighty Pup forms, Rubble tackled Ben and gave him a ton of licks. "Rubble, I'm so happy you're okay!" Ben sobbed, starting to cry.
"DADDYYYY!" Rubble squealed.
"RUBBLE!" Ben sniffled, hugging the bulldog tightly as he was assaulted with affectionate slurps.
"I knew you would come and get me!" Rubble happily said.
The pirates on Rubble's ship started to look at them suspiciously. "Fellow pirates, ye have served me well! I'm afraid it is time for me to return to the great big dog pasture in the sky, though. I hereby disband this crew! Go lead normal lives!" Rubble commanded, and nodded to Gizmo, who activated his time machine and took himself, Ben, and the rest of the pups back to the present.
The first mate stood looking at the spot where their captain had been. "Blackfur…" He muttered in disbelief.
"Is he… ded?" One of his crewmates asked him.
"Oy do believe he is. Wot do yew say, Mike?" Another questioned.
The first mate turned to his company. "You heard the dying words of our cap'n. Settle down and lead normal lives. Let's serve his memory proudly and help his beloved hometown of Adventure Bay." The first mate decreed. They turned the ship towards the small, new town and started their way to their new home.
May 25th, 2030
Ryder, Chase, Everest, and Tracker breathed a sigh of relief as moments later, Ben, Gizmo, Marshall, Zuma, Skye, and Rocky reappeared with Rubble in Ben's arms. "RUBBLE!" Ryder cried out as he ran forward and snatched the bulldog from Ben's arms, hugging him tightly.
The bulldog giggled as he was taken inside the Lookout by Ryder. Katie immediately started performing a checkup on him after taking off his hat, fake eyepatch, and earring. "Rubble, did you use dye on your fur to turn it black?" Katie inquired.
"Well, I had to get the look somehow!" The ex-pirate laughed.
"You've certainly lost a few pounds, AND you're in need of a bubble bath!" Katie sighed.
"YAY!" Rubble cheered.
As Rubble sat in the bathtub and was scrubbed off by Katie, he told the rest of the Paw Patrol all about his adventures as Captain Blackfur. Ben was surprised by how… little Rubble seemed to be impacted by his nearly year-long stay in the past. He envied the childish innocence that Rubble possessed. The construction pup continued to recount his pirate time throughout the afternoon and even while he ate! Their happy times together were interrupted, however, by a rumbling that shook the Lookout tower. A bright flash of light shone through the windows. Ben, Ryder, the Paw Patrol, and Gizmo all ran out to see what was going on, and were shocked to see several armored people in different colored suits. "Who are they?!" Gizmo nervously asked.
Being knowledgeable on Ranger history, Ben recognized those suits and knew they were in deep trouble. "It's the Time Force Rangers! They're supposed to be the law enforcement group from the year 3000. They fought mutants in the year 2000 and all of them except for the Red and Quantum Rangers went back to their future. They didn't have a black or silver member back then… that means they're stronger than before. Whatever the reason they're here in our present can't be good." Ben answered.
One of them stepped forward. "You have contorted the security of spacetime with your illegal practices. Black Labrador. You're under arrest for unauthorized breaching that caused a destabilization disturbance of the Morphin Grid, as well as causing multiple chronal disturbances and temporal anomalies. You will surrender and allow us to restore the timeline to its proper state." The Red Ranger answered robotically.
"I plead Novikov!" Gizmo hastily shouted.
"What does restoring the timeline to its proper state mean in this case?" Ryder inquired.
Time Force Blue stepped forward. "In this instance of temporal law, it means returning this bulldog back to the 1881 battle that claimed his life. It also means capturing this Labrador and bringing him back to the future to repent for his crimes." Blue replied.
"Hey! You can't do that! Rubble was from the present, not from the 1880s! He was sent back there by accident!" Rocky protested.
"That is irrelevant. Restoring the timeline is what matters. Stand down or you will suffer as well." Time Force Green commanded.
Gizmo activated his helmet and shoes and lowered his visor. "Hey, these aren't humans at all! They're just robots!" The Lab exclaimed, noticing a lack of organic signatures coming from within the suits.
Ben pointed at the leader. "Real Rangers would listen to us! I don't care if you're from the future, but if you want to take Rubble and Gizmo away, then you'll have to go through all of us! RESCUE FORCE DELTA, CAT PACK, ASSEMBLE!" Ben roared, pressing an emergency button on his gauntlet.
Multiple streaks of light emerged and landed next to the other pups, revealing themselves to be the feline and canine members of the Rescue Force from Adventure City. Tuck, Ella, Alex, Liberty, Wild, Shade, Leo, and Rory all stood at the ready. "Nice teleporter! Wait a second. Please tell me that thing doesn't use transporter teleportation." Gizmo said.
"No, why?" Ben asked.
"Oh, thank goodness you aren't using that horrific murder machine." Gizmo breathed in relief.
"Let's go! It's morphin time, everyone!" Ryder announced as he activated the Mighty Meteor in the Lookout.
Light shone from their collars as they were all armored up. Liberty was surprised to feel her body become stretchy and flexible. She started to extend, and she smiled. This was her superpower? EPIC!
"The Great Planner, Mighty Leader Crimson!" Ryder shouted as he made a peace sign, donning his SPD armor.
"The Faithful Warrior, Mighty Ranger Jade!" Ben yelled out, also morphing into his A-Squad SPD gear.
Marshall did a tailspin and exhaled a small amount of fire from his mouth. "The Blazing Heart, Mighty Pup Red!" Marshall called out.
Skye did a backflip before landing on all four paws, her wind rider wings forming around her. "The Tempestuous Gale, Mighty Pup Pink!" Skye yipped.
Zuma stood up on his hind legs and spread his two paws out like a human surfer would ride a surfboard. "The Swirling Ocean, Mighty Pup Orange!" Zuma cheered.
Rocky smiled as he summoned a wrench and screwdriver, crossing them over his head as his paws glowed. "The Creative Mind, Mighty Pup Green!" Rocky declared.
Chase darted in a circle around Greenzilla before taking a spot next to his dalmatian brother. "The Fleet Footed Justice, Mighty Pup Blue!" Chase stated.
Rubble put his paws together and grinned as he felt a shockwave emanate from the pushing of his paws together. "The Smashing Hammer, Mighty Pup Yellow!" Rubble growled.
Ice spread across the ground at Everest's feet as she raised her head. "The Freezing Blizzard, Mighty Pup Cyan!" Everest barked.
Tracker pressed his paws to the lawn and caused flowers to sprout up around him. "The Lush Jungle, Mighty Pup Emerald!" Tracker yowled.
Tuck performed a few spinning jump kicks and shrunk before growing back to normal size. "The Smallest Hope, Mighty Pup Silver!" Tuck yelled.
Ella rocketed in size and stomped a paw on the ground, causing it to shake before she turned back to normal size. "The Gentlest Giant, Mighty Pup Gold!" Ella confidently bellowed.
Alex let out a startling war cry as electricity crackled around him. "The Blinding Thunderbolt, Mighty Pup Purple!" Alex howled.
"The Resilient Body, Mighty Pup Peach!" Liberty roared as she leapt forward, her body stretching out like a slinky.
"Speed of the Cheetah, Feline Frenzy Bronze!" Wild cried out, crouching on all fours.
"Strength of the Lion, Feline Frenzy Amber!" Leo yelled.
"Stealth of the Jaguar, Feline Frenzy Violet!" Shade declared.
"Grace of the Tiger, Feline Frenzy White!" Rory shouted.
"FIGHTING TO PROTECT THE INNOCENT AND SAVE THE FUTURE! MIGHTY PUPS ARE READY TO GO, GO, GO!" The thirteen pups shouted together.
"OUR FOUR WAR CRIES MERGE TOGETHER INTO A THUNDEROUS ROAR! POWER RANGERS FELINE FRENZY!" The four armored cats all roared in unison.
"The Technological Terror, Honorary Mighty Pup Heliotrope!" Gizmo chimed in, boosting a couple feet into the air before dropping back to the ground in a front flip and landing in a crouch, activating his force field. The battlefield fell silent due to the sheer awkwardness and unexpectedness of Gizmo's callout. He hadn't even followed the formula right.
Unless of course, heliotrope was a color… Ben realized he would have to look that up afterwards. Even the robots were unsure of how to respond. Gizmo capitalized on this, suddenly vanishing into thin air. Everyone stared at the empty place he had been, startled. He hadn't used his time machine; there was no flash of light. Out of the blue, Gizmo reappeared directly in front of one of the robots. He activated his boosters and jumped towards it.
The robot fired a shot, but Gizmo vanished in a flash of light, appearing behind the robot half a second before he had vanished! Then when he was in range, Gizmo activated his force field in a strobe setting. As he ran into the robot, it got turned into ribbons of metal; practically a powder. The legs of the robot clanked to the ground, completely useless. Gizmo landed rolling over his shoulder before rising to his paws. "I told you I was going easy on you when we were fighting earlier!" The Labrador laughed, tail wagging.
One of the other robotic Rangers raised his weapon and fired at Gizmo, whose back was turned to them. A rear alert popped up on the dog's visor, and he activated his force field. Unfortunately for him, the stun shot went directly through his force field, shocking him unconscious. "GIZMO!" Rubble shouted.
"Pup down for the count! Let's make sure to avenge him!" Ben declared, and they ran into battle.
Skye, Ella, and Everest charged towards Green; Zuma, Rocky, and Ben ran at the Red Ranger; Marshall, Tuck, and Tracker went for Blue; Alex, Liberty and Chase went at Yellow; Ryder and Rubble started to fight Pink; Shade and Wild began battling Black; and Leo and Rory started fighting Silver.
Tuck shrank down and dodged a foot stomp from the Blue Ranger as he regrew to full size and kicked him hard in the back, which made a dent in the armor and exposed some wiring. Shrinking back down and following the wiring, Tuck called out to the others. "Don't forget these guys are robots! We don't have to go easy! Tracker, snare em!" Marshall quickly suggested.
Understanding what Marshall was thinking, Tracker slammed his paws down on the ground and created long, lengthy vines that wrapped around the robotic Blue Ranger. The robot tried to break free of his binds, but Marshall breathed and shot fire at the vines, catching them on fire. The robot writhed as Marshall continuously blasted him with flames until he melted and ceased functioning.
Skye, Everest, and Ella were doing their best to dodge the strikes and slashes of Time Force Green when they got the news. "Freeze them, Everest! Skye, I'm in the mood for a frozen metal munchie treat!" Ella exclaimed. Giggling, Everest exhaled and turned the Green Ranger into a frozen solid soldier. Skye lifted him up and threw him with her whirlwind as Ella caught the ice-cubed enemy and crushed it in her jaws, spitting the pieces of metal out.
Wild and Shade were moving so fast that the robot wasn't able to keep up with them. Together, they leapt onto the robotic Black Ranger and slashed at it with their claws like crazy. The damage accumulated with each and every strike, culminating in the robot's head and helmet coming clean off.
Ryder was grappling with the Pink Ranger when she grabbed his arm and threw him into the air, much to his chagrin and shock. Thankfully he used his jetpack to get back on the ground safely, and while he flew in the air, Rubble kicked their enemy into Gizmo's path, who was just coming round. The black Labrador activated his force field strobe as the Pink Ranger came towards him. He rolled onto his back and activated his electromagnets on his shoes, dragging the robot towards him. She fell on him, turning herself into metallic dust as she passed through the force field's bubble.
Liberty slingshotted herself at the Yellow Ranger, colliding head first with the armored foe and causing them to stagger backwards. The Dachshund also staggered backwards, a little dazed by the maneuver. She was still getting used to her elastic, stretchy body, which the Time Force robot took advantage of and kicked her, sending her flying and rolling across the grass. Strangely, it didn't hurt, so she got back up and ran to help Chase and Alex.
"LIBERTY!" Alex screamed as she rolled away. Turning to the Yellow Ranger, he shrieked as he delivered the most powerful electrical shock to the robot, causing its systems to overload. Chase then hit their enemy with a flurry of paw punches, making the robot shut down.
Leo and Rory were attacking Silver, with Leo repeatedly striking the robot in weak spots like joints and limbs. Rory kept climbing on him and raking her claws across the Silver Ranger's visor and back, getting thrown off every time, but managing to land on her feet. Attacking the chest at the same time, they managed to punch out the power core of the robot, shutting him down for good.
Ben and Rocky had been sword fighting the Red Ranger, who was clearly the strongest and most advanced of the robot time Force Rangers. Pushing them back, the Red Ranger noticed that his allies had been vanquished. "It appears that I am the last one remaining. I will have to take greater extremes." The robot spoke, before transforming. He now donned knight like armor and wielded a flaming saber.
Zuma blasted the sword with water, but his water attacks turned into steam from the sheer heat the sword's flames generated. "Dudes, that's one seriously hot sword!" Zuma yelped. A blazing slash struck Ben and sent him hurling through the air, screaming in agony at the searing attack.
A second Red Ranger came in and blocked the next slash of the enemy. "So this is what Time Force does now?! Sending robots to arrest people?! Without even listening to the circumstances and situation of time travel?!" The new Ranger yelled.
"Emotions get in the way of the enforcement of justice." The robot countered.
"Without emotions, justice is pointless! Hiyah!" The second one argued, stabbing his arm sabers into the chest of the robot Red. Parrying a flaming sword attack, he leapt backward and flew into the air before coming down and slicing the waist of the robotic Ranger, which enveloped the robot in electricity before causing it to explode. "Your time's run out!" The victor exclaimed, before turning to the Mighty Pups.
"Um… thanks for the save, mister, but who are you?" Marshall wondered.
"Quantum Ranger. When the Time Force powers started to get used in the present, Wes sent me to investigate. Did not expect them to be going after another Ranger team." The man commented.
Another portal opened, and a second set of Time Force Rangers came out. "Eric? What are you doing here? Did you fight the robot Rangers?!" The pink one asked.
"Just the red one. This other team of Rangers took out most of them." The Quantum Ranger answered. He looked at the debris littering the battlefield and took special interest in the two piles of metal dust marking what remained of two of the robots. "And some of them were taken out in very… effective ways." He continued.
"Sorry about all that. We were in the middle of bug fixing these robots when they sensed an issue and warped away without us!" The Yellow Ranger apologized.
"Don't worry about destroying them; we'll make do. Now all we need to do is take action on the destabilization they detected." The Ranger finished.
"Gizmo, explain what happened and why we time traveled. I don't want you to go to time jail or for Rubble to be killed in the 1880s." Ben said.
Gizmo explained what had happened, with the Time Force Rangers understanding all that advanced mumbo jumbo that he used. He recounted how Rubble had been sent back in time to 1880, became Captain Blackfur, and hid his treasures before returning to the present after rescuing him during a battle. "The diary states that he died, but in reality, he was returned to his home time period of 2030, shortly after he was temporally displaced in the first place. We believed that removing him before he hid his treasures would have caused a grandfather paradox. That's why we removed him from 1881. We also believe we didn't create any ontological paradoxes; Niven's law covers that as I explained, and this journal proves that we avoided any consistency paradoxes." Gizmo explained.
The Pink Ranger nodded. "I believe you. You still did destabilize the Morphin Grid, and you did time travel without authorization, even if it was for a good cause. Tell you what. We'll let you off with a warning and a reprimand, but you need to be careful with what you do in this universe. Any more time traveling and we WILL have to take you in." She warned.
"Um, before you go, I have some questions. You're from the year 3000, right?" Gizmo spoke up, forestalling their departure.
"NO, we can't tell you about what it's like in the future." Time Force Green sighed.
Gizmo looked up at him with the most innocent of smiles imaginable. "It's not that at all. It's about the authorization thing. So, if I need authorization to time travel, and I create a time machine in the past, then how can I get authorization? Do I use unauthorized time travel to get to you guys? Or should I create another destabilization to get your attention? And for that matter how can I know you guys exist in the first place? And what about the first person to create a time machine? Theoretically shouldn't they be the one giving out authorization? You need a better system for analyzing multiversal travelers and informing them of the rules or else stuff like this could happen again. And it can be way worse. Trust me. Never underestimate the threat an interdimensional traveler poses." Gizmo pointed out, suddenly getting serious during his last sentences.
"...Noted. We'll talk about it with our superiors." The Pink Ranger sighed before going back through the time portal to her home time.
The rest of the Time Force Rangers followed, except for the Quantum Ranger, who seemingly smiled underneath his helmet. "Glad I could be of assistance to you." He chuckled before flying off.
"...You have one strange universe." Gizmo commented.
"Oh yeah!? We haven't been to yours!" Ben argued.
Rocky started to wag his tail in excitement. "Hey, that's a great idea! Gizmo, can you take us to see YOUR Paw Patrol?" Rocky asked.
"You want to see the Wonderverse? Um… sure, why not? I kind of owe you for keeping me safe and not letting me get arrested by the time police, and I already took a quantum lock on your universe so it'll be easy enough to get back. Who wants to come?" Gizmo asked. Ben raised his hand while Chase, Rocky, Zuma, Skye, Rubble, and Marshall raised their paws to confirm that they wanted to go too. "Ryder, you don't want to meet my universe's version of you?" Gizmo inquired.
Ryder shook his head no. "I've… had enough for today." The spiky haired teenager answered.
"Anyone else?" Gizmo asked.
"We gotta get back to Adventure City. Can't leave it unprotected. Was great meeting you though Gizmo." Ella replied.
"Great meeting you too, Clifford." Gizmo laughed back, earning a confused look from the pup.
Then Ella and the rest of Rescue Force Delta teleported back to the City Lookout. "We should get going too." Wild murmured, with him and his feline friends warping away.
Gizmo nodded, turning to look at Everest and Tracker. "What about you two? Do you want to meet your alternate selves?" Gizmo asked.
"...Sure, why not?" Everest decided.
"¡Si! It might be fun!" Tracker agreed.
Gizmo led them all back into the Lookout Control room, where the portal still resided on the ceiling. One by one, with a ladder's help, they all went through the portal, off to explore a new universe, one that might be like their own, but different.
This was written several, SEVERAL months ago. Before any of the Mighty Movie leaks were even revealed. We had no idea what Liberty's powers were going to be. I decided to play into the "lanky" aspect of her and her Dachshund body, giving her the power of elasticity which also allows her to change her body shape and density. Her powers are inspired by Elastigirl and Miss Marvel.
Even WHEN WE DID GET LEAKS, THEY DIDN'T DO ANY INDICATING OF LIBERTY'S MIGHTY POWERS WHATSOEVER! The Mighty Pup tags are just a regular paw on the collar, and the Mighty Vehicle shield design for Liberty is very similar to her regular pup tag: a skyscraper with a long flag. Doesn't give any hints towards what she can do. So if Liberty's powers in this story are inconsistent with the Mighty Movie, not my fault that the leaks didn't give us anything to base off of. Plus, if I DID go back and rewrite her powers to be in line with the movie, it would cause further hassle, as I'd have to redo the fight scene here, and possibly change the powers/Supercharged Powers of OTHER Mighty Pups so that there isn't any overlap and each Mighty Pup has different powers.
