Season 4 Episode 8: Sea Patrol Saves A Flooded Farm! The Sloop's Secrets Revealed!

June 21st, 2030

Morning came, with Ben, Ryder, Sid, and the pups all getting up and having leftover pizza for breakfast. "So Ryder, what are we going to do today?" Everest piped up.

"Well, Sid and I are going to go through the remains of the ship that we recovered from the bottom of the bay yesterday, and we're also going to build Arrby's pup pack. Sid and I wanted to see if you would like to spend some time with our newest member." Ryder told them.

Arrby blushed and looked down at the ground. "Oh, you mean Arrby? Sure! I think that'd be a lot of fun. Zuma and Rubble already get along so well with him!" Everest chuckled.

The dachshund, however, wasn't as confident in his ability to get along with the other canines. He started to slink away, but the bulldog and chocolate labrador noticed him trying to go off on his own, and so they followed him.

"Arrby, what's going on, dude?" Zuma questioned.

"Yeah, why are you running off? Don't you wanna become friends with the rest of our family?" Rubble wondered.

Arrby stopped in his tracks and turned around, looking a tad bit anxious. He gave a sheepish, apologetic grin to his two buddies. "Well, um, you see… I'm not really good at talking to other dogs? …Or people, really. I've been at sea for almost my whole life, and I've only really talked to Sid. What if I mess up? And I have the feeling Chase doesn't really like me." Arrby sighed.

Rubble patted Arrby on the back to comfort him. "Don't worry about Chase, our fearless leader gets like that with pups that pop into our lives sometimes. He didn't really like Gizmo at first either." Rubble reassured.

The pirate pup tilted his head in confusion. "Gizmo? Who's Gizmo?" Arrby asked.

Zuma and Rubble exchanged a glance. "Oh, dude, it's a long story. We'll tell you about it later. But come on, try to make friends with the rest of our family! Please?" Zuma replied.

Arrby scratched his left ear a little bit before nodding his head. "All right, I guess I'll give it a go!" He declared, before waddling out on his short stubby legs to the beach. Marshall was waiting for him, tail wagging in excitement as Arrby came out of the Beach Lookout tower.

"Hi Arrby! Do you wanna play some frisbee with me and Skye?" Marshall suggested enthusiastically.

Hesitating due to the sudden request, he remembered the pleas of Zuma and Rubble, and he knew deep down within himself that he had to try. "You know what, sure! But um… What's Frisbee? How do you play? Sorry for asking, it's just that I've never played most games before, since we didn't have much room on me and Sid's ship." Arrby responded.

Marshall's eyes sparkled as he guided Arrby over to Skye. "Skye, can you help me teach Arrby how to play Frisbee?" Marshall asked his sister.

The cockapoo's eyes widened at the question. "He doesn't know how to play frisbee?!" Skye gasped.

"Um… no. But I wanna learn! It sounds kinda fun!" Arrby said.

Marshall felt a sense of pride, for once he was going to be able to teach someone something! The dalmatian and his adoptive sister explained the rules of frisbee to their new pal and Arby caught on quickly. He was a fast learner, and soon enough he was chomping the plastic discus out of the air like he had been playing this game for years. Skye yipped in glee as Arrby flung the frisbee and she did a backflip to catch it. "Wow, Arrby, you're really good at this!" Skye complimented him.

Surprised and flattered by the comment, their newest member smiled and wagged his tail. "Aww, you really mean it?" Arrby exclaimed.

Marshall nodded his head in agreement. "Absolutely! You picked up on how to play super fast, faster than Wild can run with his cheetah speed!" Marshall giggled.

There was another unfamiliar name… As he pondered who this 'Wild' could be, he heard a roar of frustration come from the Beach Lookout. It sounded like Rocky, except the roar was a lot more deeper in tone. Curious about what was going on, Arrby ran on over to the Lookout basement as he heard an angry snarl. Taking the staircase to the basement, he saw a very floofy grey pup that resembled Rocky, except with fangs and slightly darker fur. "R-Rocky!? You okay!? What happened?!" Arrby nervously asked.

The werepuppy turned around and glared at Arrby before blinking and calming down. "Oh… hey Arrby. Sorry if I scared you, and I didn't want you to have to find out about my werepuppy condition this way." Rocky grumbled.

"Werepuppy? Oh, you're not scary like this. Trust me on that. The ocean has way more terrifying creatures than werepups. Octopuses, sharks, krakens…" Arrby scoffed.

"Krakens? Aren't those just even bigger octopuses?" Rocky pointed out.

"They're a lot more territorial and violent. But enough about me, what's got your fur all twisted?" Arrby replied, before steering the topic back to Rocky.

"It's this science experiment that I'm doing. I'm trying to make this bismuth chunk come over to this magnet, but it won't be attracted! And bismuth doesn't have a positive charge, it should be negative!" Rocky complained.

Arrby scratched his ear while he mulled it over before the idea came to mind. "That's because some materials produce a diamagnetic field." Arrby told the mixed breed.

"Diamagnetic…? Huh, lemme look into it. Thanks Arrby." Rocky thoughtfully said.

"You're welcome!" Arrby chuckled before walking off, going back outside to spend more time with the other pups.

Meanwhile, Tracker, Sid, and Ryder were going through the contents of the ship that they had recovered yesterday. "SCORE! Old pirate hats and plenty of fabric! They've shrunk a bit though due to being submerged for so long… actually, looking at them, they're the perfect size for pups, come to think of it." Sid mused as he pulled the fabric and nine pirate hats out of an open treasure chest. "Katie could sew pirate costumes for the pups!" Ben suggested.

Ryder opened up another treasure chest, this time finding six differently colored pirate outfits. "Neat, we could wear these sometime." Ryder commented.

Tracker found an old corked bottle with a scroll of paper inside of it. "¡Encontré algo! Look at what I just found!" Tracker cried out.

Sid took the bottle and set it in the important items corner. "Say, Tracker, yesterday you mentioned that your great grandpa had met Jack Scallywag before… but wouldn't that mean he was alive in the 1980s or 1990s?" Ryder inquired.

"¡Sí, así es! That's right Ryder, my great granddog had an encounter with that dastardly pirate in the year 1996, and he was born in the year 1990. He was eleven when the mutation virus that gave him the ability to talk changed him. He went on to have three generations of pups, of which I'm the most recent!" Tracker answered.

"Arrr, then what was Jack Scallywag like?" Sid questioned.

"My great grandpa said he had a magic flute that could mind control animals, and he found a cursed treasure that made him unable to die! He was terrifying looking, he looked like a skeleton!" Tracker reported. "Looked like a skeleton?! Are you sure your grandfather wasn't pulling your leg, Tracker?" Sid skeptically scoffed.

"No way, my great grandpa would never lie like that!" Tracker protested.

They were about to press the matter further, but then they received a call from Farmer Al and Farmer Yumi. "Farmer Al? Farmer Yumi? What's up?" Ben inquired.

"US! And our animals!" Farmer Yumi nervously said.

"Our farm's flooded and we've gotten stuck on the roof! …And goat boats!" Farmer Al yelped.

"We'll figure out where the water came from. No farm is too flooded, no pup is too small!" Ryder declared.

Meanwhile, Zuma was doing yoga with Arrby, Marshall, Rocky, Chase, Skye, and Rubble. Everest was on life guard duty as the pups did a cobra pose. "Breathe in… and slowly breathe out." Zuma announced. The pups all took in a deep breath, and then let it out. "Now, lion's pose. Like the one that Leo does." Zuma told them. There was another name that Arrby didn't know… he tried to mimic the other pups as Marshall let out a roar. Then, they performed a downward dog pose, which was interrupted by a beach ball bumping into Chase's rear end. The ball bounced off of all the pups before they started to play. "Okay… now pups play beach ball pose!" Zuma giggled before joining in on the fun.

Their beach ball bouncing game was broken up by Ryder summoning them to the Beach Lookout. Hurriedly going into the elevator, the mechanical arms dressed the pups in their sea patrol gear before taking them to the control room. "Sea Patrol ready for action, Captain Ryder, sir!" Zuma and Chase both barked out.

"Thanks for coming so quick, everyone. The Sea Patrol is going on a different kind of mission today. We're taking the Sea Patroller to Farmer Al and Farmer Yumi's farm!" Ryder revealed. "Somehow, the farm became flooded last night. We've got to rescue our farmer friends, their animals, and get rid of all that water!" Ben added.

Arrby stood up at attention. "Paw Patrol Black reporting for duty! …If you need me, of course." Arrby piped up.

Sid chuckled as he walked over and ruffled the fur on Arrby's head. "Don't worry, first mate, you'll be needed for this rescue, I'm sure of it!" Sid promised.

"Right you are, Sid! For this mission, we need Arrby and all six of the main pups. Everest and Tracker are on beach watch duty. Zuma and Arrby, you two will use your submarines to dive underwater so you can isolate the source of the flooding. Marshall, you'll use your fireboat and its ladder to help save the animals that are still floating around. Skye, your sea plane's scoop will help pluck Farmer Yumi and Al off the roof of their barn and airlift them to safety. Rubble, you might be needed to help move some debris around. Chase, you'll also help the animals get over to the sea patroller. Rocky, your submersible is strong enough to resist currents, so if any of our members get swept up in them, you'll be in charge of saving them." Ryder instructed.

"Let's dive in!" Zuma cheered.

"I'm fired up!" Marshall exclaimed.

"Let's take to the skies!" Skye yipped. "Rubble on the aqua double!" Rubble roared.

"Green means go get in the water!" Rocky chuckled.

"Chase is on this ocean case!" The German Shepherd howled.

"Uhhh… no need to be nervous, I'm at your service?" Arrby anxiously offered, trying to coin his callout phrase on the fly.

"Ho ho, great catchphrase, Arrby!" Sid complimented.

Everest and Tracker went to the beach to keep watch over the beach goers before the rest of the group set sail. "Sea Patrol, sail to the rescue!" Ryder declared as the Sea Patroller started to deploy. "Wait, how are we going to get to the farm if it's on land!?" Arrby pointed out.

"Simple. ACTIVATING AMPHIBIOUS MODE!" Ben yelled as he pressed a button in the cockpit, with the Sea Patroller sprouting wheels as it came onto land and started driving down the road.

Driving into the flooded farm, they switched back to aquatic mode. "Sea Patrol, please hurry! Our animals are getting agitated!" Farmer Al called and told them.

Arrby's eyes widened at that. "That's not good at all! If farm animals are anything like ocean animals, then the farm animals are gonna start acting unpredictably!" Arrby gasped.

They saw Garby float past them on a log, bleating nervously. "Marshall, go grab the goat! Arrby and Zuma, go and find the source of the flooding!" Ben ordered.

The labrador and dachshund nodded as they went into their submarines and deployed, while Marshall took his fire boat. Sid and Ryder took the sea patroller to the big barn that Al, Yumi, and their animals were stuck on top of. Ryder had Ben use the crane and cage to safely bring Al and Yumi over to the Sea Patroller.

"Thanks a bajillion, Ryder. But…" Farmer Al sighed.

"But what, matey?" Sid pressed.

"It doesn't feel right to leave our other farm animals over on the barn roof!" Farmer Yumi said.

"Having you on the Sea Patroller will help encourage them to come over and join you over here." Ryder explained.

"They might need help getting into the cage, though. Chase, you're our animal herding expert, and resident cowboy. Think you can help coax them over?" Ben suggested.

"Aye aye, captain!" Chase answered, and got in the cage, which rode over to the barn roof.

Zuma and Arrby were diving and going through the flooded farm in their submarines, they saw wacky sights, before they found a hose that was still running. "Ryder, Ben, come in! We found something!" Arrby exclaimed.

"We hear you loud and clear, what'd you find?" Ben radioed.

"We've found a hose that's still running!" Zuma chimed in.

"Follow the hose to the faucet, every hose should have one." Ben responded.

Ryder turned to the two farmers. "Do you have any idea how the hose was turned on?" Ryder asked the country couple.

Farmer Al facepalmed as he realized what had happened. "Damn it, Alex! I get he's a little kid, but he can be very stupid at times. He must have left the hose on when we went inside to read the animals their bedtime story! He was in charge of watering the crops, and he must have forgotten to turn off the water flow!" Farmer Al hissed.

"With running water and a blocked storm drain, that creates the perfect conditions for a flood like this!" Farmer Yumi commented.

Marshall brought Arrby back to the boat as Chase coaxed the animals over into the cage one at a time. They were encouraged by Chase's calm tone of voice and his reassuring promises that the cage would take them to see Farmer Al. However, Bettina was too big for the cage's confines. "Uh oh, the cage isn't cow sized! How are we going to get her over there?" Chase worriedly said.

Rocky reused the plank of wood that Garby had stood on, and used it as a bridge for Bettina to cross over to the Sea Patroller. Zuma turned off the hose, and the water shut off. That wasn't the end of the problem though, they still needed to unflood the farm. The animals were getting even more agitated by the minute, though. "The rocking of the boat must be aggravating them. Zuma, we need you and your yoga skills to help calm these animals down." Ryder commanded.

Arrby started to fidget in his submarine nervously. "But that means I'll have to unplug the storm drain on my own!" Arrby protested.

All of a sudden, on the computerized monitor in Arrby's sub, images of everyone present popped up. Ben, Ryder, Sid, Chase, Marshall, Rubble, Skye, Zuma, and Rocky's faces all showed up on the screen. "Arrby, one thing to know is that as a member of the Paw Patrol, you're NEVER alone." Ben promised.

"That's right! You have me, and Ben, and Sid, and all of our pups and cats!" Ryder spoke up.

All of the Paw Patrol members voiced their support, and more faces appeared on screen. Everest, Tracker, two golden retrievers, a white wolf, four cats, and another dachshund, as well as two human girls. "Not everyone you're seeing right now knows you, but if they did, I know that they would believe in you." Ryder assured.

"Yarr, the spiky haired boy is right, Arrby! You're my first mate, and I know that you can do anything that you put your mind to!" Sid comforted his pup.

"I can do this… I can do this!" Arrby yelled out to himself as he started to try and remove the rocks that were plugging up the storm drain.

Rubble's sub appeared next to Arrby, and the bulldog looked into the dachshund's eyes. "Come on, Arrby! Let's unflood this farm!" Rubble encouraged.

Together, the two canines were able to dislodge the rock that was on top of the storm drain. A whirlpool started to form, and it began sucking the two pups in!Ryder, Ben, Sid, and the other five pups there dove into the water, with the pups all in their vehicles. "ARRBY! NO!" Sid screamed as he saw his beloved companion and his submarine swirling around in the grip of the underwater vortex. He was about to swim forward and try to save the pirate pup, but Ben pulled him back. "LET ME GO! I HAVE TO SAVE MY FIRST MATE!" Sid bellowed belligerently at Ben.

"NO! If you get caught in the vortex with them, then you could easily get flung into one of their vehicles! An impact like that would likely knock you unconscious and give you a concussion, or worse, possibly damage your oxygen tanks!" Ben argued.

Sighing, Sid stopped struggling and calmed down, knowing his new friend was right. "Then what do we do!?" Sid questioned.

"First, we have to catch them! Arrby, press the magnet button in your cockpit and aim it at Rubble's submarine!" Ryder instructed.

"S-sorry, Mister Ryder, sir, b-but I only take orders from Captain Boss Mister Sid!" Arrby protested.

"Arrby, do what he says, please!" Sid begged his pup. Arrby nodded his head and pressed the magnet button in his sub, with a magnet emerging from the bottom of his pirate submarine. An aiming reticle and a lock on aiming system was displayed on the submarine monitor.

"Aim your magnet at Rubble's construction rig and press the red button to magnetize it and pull his rig to you!" Ryder told him.

Getting the shot lined up, Arrby hit the button with his front left paw and a red column of light shot out, connecting with Rubble's construction vessel and pulling it over to him, the magnetic pull overpowering the force of the current. Ryder swam down and brought a hose up, and anchored it to Rocky's recycling sub gripper claws while Chase activated his winch. Ben twirled Chase's police sub winch around like a lasso, and Ryder mimicked his motion with the hose before they tossed the connecting ropes onto Arrby and Rubble's submarines. With all of their combined might, they were able to pull free the two vehicles from the current, and they brought everything back to the surface. "Now I finally know what it's like to be the bubble at the end of a bath…" Rubble groaned queasily.

Arrby moaned, his head still spinning from being tossed around like that. "I've never had to deal with an aquatic current that strong… thanks everyone…" The pirate pup gratefully told them.

A beautiful rainbow shone down on the farm after the excess water was absorbed and collected by the storm drain. "That was one tough rescue, huh?" Ben chuckled.

"Yup! But for first rescues, that was one amazing job you did, Arrby!" Sid grinned as he picked up his best buddy and hugged him.

"Thank you so much for saving us, our farm animals, and our farm, Sea Patrol!" Farmer Al and Farmer Yumi exclaimed.

"No problem, tis but a pleasure to help out kind folks like you!" Sid courteously replied, tipping his hat off to Farmer Yumi in a chivalrous fashion.

The woman chuckled as she tipped her hat off to him out of respect, and Al did the same. "For a pirate, you're pretty kind, Sid Swashbuckle." Farmer Yumi remarked.

"Need any help with the cleanup?" Chase offered.

"Nah, we can have some of our relatives come lend a hand. You've helped out enough already, so go and have some fun!" Farmer Al told them.

"Sure thing! Just remember, whenever you find your farm underwater, just yelp for help!" Ryder told them.
