Season 4 Episode 12: MISSION PAW SAVES THE ROYAL THRONE!
July 5th, 2030
"Hey Everest!" Marshall giggled as he saw his girlfriend on the monitor.
"Marshy! Hi!" Everest greeted, her tail wagging as she saw the dalmatian's muzzle on her pup-tag's hologram projector.
"Sorry I couldn't come with you to the Arctic for your penguin watching. I might be needed in Adventure Bay, or maybe even in Barkingburg!" Marshall apologized.
"Aww, it's okay Marshall! I don't mind. Besides, penguin watching is kind of just something for me and Jake." Everest answered.
"Thanks, Evvie. I'm glad you understand!" Marshall chuckled.
"You got to go to Barkingburg? I've always dreamed of going there! Jake had a book about it that I once read." Everest commented.
"Yup, it's pretty cool! We got super special spy style gear for our assignments there!" Marshall replied.
"Ooh. I wonder what my spy gear would be?" Everest thoughtfully said.
"Whatever it is, I bet it'd be awesome, just like you!" Marshall teased, which made Everest grin.
Meanwhile, Ryder was in the Lookout control room having a video chat with Carlos, Tracker, Tuck, and Ella. "¡Hola, Ryder! It is so good to see you! How are you doing? The twins came to visit me!" Tracker exclaimed as he saw his friend.
"Hi Ryder!" The twins chimed in together in unison.
"How are you doing, everyone?" Ryder asked.
"¡Fantástico!" Tracker immediately said.
"We're doing great!" The twins responded.
"We heard about your adventure in Barkingburg. Tell us all about it!" Carlos exclaimed.
And so, Ryder began to tell the others about what had happened in Barkingburg.
MEANWHILE, IN BARKINGBURG…
"Attention, everyone! Your princess is ready to show you the new throne of Barkingburg!" Princess Bethany announced. This piqued Ben's interest. Claw had been working with the princess on something, could this be what their project was? Going to the throne room, the throne's cover had been removed to reveal an elaborately designed chair with balloons tied to the back, flowers decorating the top of the front, a pink crown blanket across the middle of the chair back, and a turquoise heart pillow on the side leaning against one of the armrests. "I decorated it with some help from Claw!" The Princess revealed.
"Magnificent! Princess, your artistic touch shines in every detail. Why, you've even adorned the throne's floor locks!" The Earl praised her.
"Thank you! I've been working for days to get it all just right." Princess Beth chuckled.
Sweetie waddled into the room and squealed as she saw the new throne. "That throne is all I've ever wanted! Especially the part about having everyone listen to me! Oh, I just can't stop myself!" Sweetie exclaimed before leaping onto the throne and taking a seat in it.
The princess then plucked Sweetie off of the throne and took her into her arms. "Silly Sweetie, you know you don't belong up there!" Bethany teased.
"I'm sorry, my princess. It's so beautiful. I had to take a closer look. Can we at least take a picture of it?" Sweetie begged.
"What a lovely idea!" Bethany agreed.
"I'll go get the camera!" The Earl decided.
Suddenly, the photographer came into the room with the camera.
"Huh?" Ben, Bethany, and the Earl gasped.
"Claw told me that I was needed." The photographer answered.
This immediately sparked Ben's suspicions. "Where is Claw, by the way?" Ben inquired, arching an eyebrow.
"He hurried off to the little puppy's room after he told me that I was needed here in the throne room. Muttering something about regretting eating so many burgers." The cameraman commented.
"It's true, Claw's stomach has been upset ever since we gorged ourselves during my brief stint wearing the crown." Sweetie confirmed.
When the photo was taken, a large cloud of smoke billowed from the camera, enveloping a significant portion of the room in smog and making it near impossible to see. Ben could hear the terrier's snickering snort laugh and a giggle from Claw as the smoke cloud dissipated to reveal that Sweetie, her toy frog Bubsy, and the throne of Barkingburg were all gone.
"Sweetie!? Are you all right?!" Princess Beth yelled out as the smoke cleared.
"She's gone! So is the Royal Throne! I'm calling in backup." Ben decided as he pulled out his pup pad and called Ryder.
"How will you become queen without the Royal Throne!?" The Earl fretted.
"Monarchy doesn't require a throne! There have been plenty of rulers who have managed their kingdom without a throne! Still, I would like it back. Claw and I spent so much time decorating it…" The Princess replied.
BACK IN ADVENTURE BAY…
Ryder was watching the pups drink their water when he got a call from Ben. "Hey Ben! What's happening over in Barkingburg?" Ryder nonchalantly asked.
"We've got another problem on our hands. Sweetie and the Throne of Barkingburg have disappeared." Ben responded.
Ryder's eyes widened. "Sweetie and the Throne!?" Ryder gasped.
"Yes! The throne is one of Barkingburg's most important and priceless treasures! It's deeply ingrained in our history! And my poor, precious poochie… if you can't get both of them back, I will never smile again!" The Princess chimed in, a worried expression on her face.
"Don't worry, Princess! We'll get both of them back! No job is too big, no pup is too small!" Ryder promised.
All of the pups stopped drinking their water and looked at Ryder. "The royal throne was taken!?" Rocky mused.
"We're going back to Barkingburg!?" Marshall asked.
"Is it Claw again!?" Chase growled.
Ryder shook his head in response. "We don't know who took the royal throne and Sweetie yet. But we'll find out! Come on, pups! To the Air Patroller!" Ryder ordered. The human and his six pups all ran to their plane, and got in their seats before taking off.
"Wait a minute…" Skye realized as they flew through the air, Robo-Dog piloting the Air Patroller.
"If this is a Barkingburg mission…." Zuma thought out loud.
"Then that means this is…" Rubble continued.
"A MISSION PAW!" All six pups exclaimed together in excitement.
"That's right! Extraordinary missions call for extraordinary vehicles and gear! Robo-Dog, put us into stealth mode!" Ryder affirmed, and the Air Patroller transformed into a sleeker, black form as it flew to Barkingburg, nearly breaking the sound barrier as it accelerated. A platform in the middle of the lake with a bridge over it emerged, and the Air Patroller landed on it before the platform took them into an underwater base. "Time to gear up, Mission Paw style." Ryder announced as he and the six pups went into an elevator that took them down to a control room, with Ryder pressing a button on his pup pad and their pup tags reacted accordingly, dressing them in new gear.
"Mission PAW, ready for action, Ryder sir!" Chase shouted.
"Okay, pups. Our Mission PAW is to find the missing throne and the princess's pup." Ryder explained.
"I bet it's Claw. That knight was up to something the last time I was here. If we find him, I bet we'll find the throne as well." Chase murmured.
"We won't know until we start looking. So for this Mission PAW, I'll need the following members: Rocky, you'll use your radar scanner to look for any clues in the throne room. Chase, you'll use your excellent sense of smell to try and track down Sweetie, the throne, and Claw. Marshall and Rubble, you two will help bust down any walls that lead to secret passageways if necessary. Skye, use your sky cycle to scout the castle from above. Zuma, you'll be on standby at the PAW Patroller." Ryder instructed.
"The PAW Patroller? Don't you mean the Mission PAW Cruiser, dude?" Zuma questioned.
"That's a great question, Zuma! Today, I do mean the PAW Patroller. You see, we're going to be testing out the new prototype for the PAW Patroller today instead of the Mission PAW Cruiser. Ben, Captain Turbot, and I have been working with SPD and Lightspeed on an upgraded version of our mobile command center. A different environment like Barkingburg is the perfect place to test it out!" Ryder revealed, giving an in depth explanation for why they weren't using the Mission PAW Cruiser this time.
"Okay, then! We're on it, Ryder!" Zuma promised.
"This pup's flying high through the skies!" Skye yipped before doing a backflip.
"Green means it's go time!" Rocky exclaimed.
"Chase is on this secret agent case!" Chase howled.
"Rubble on the super secret double!" Rubble barked.
"I'm fired up for a ruff and risky rescue!" Marshall roared.
"All right! Mission PAW is on a roll!" Ryder declared as they went into the new PAW Patroller.
Robo-Dog barked robotically as he drove them to the castle.
What they didn't know was as soon as the opening to the base had appeared in the lake, a purple helicopter car flew down in after the Air Patroller, piloted by Sweetie. "I still don't understand why I'm the one who has to stay with the throne on top of the castle." Claw complained over their pup tags, using a private communication frequency that only Claw and Sweetie knew about.
"Because I'm the one with the flight training, darling Claw. And Bubsy has the technology in him that's capable of hijacking the Air Patroller's controls! Plus, this is my plan. Which, might I add, is much more well thought out than your half-witted attempt to get me the Crown of Barkingburg." Sweetie reminded her knight in shining armor.
"Hey! My plan was good! It was well thought out and very devious!" Claw protested.
"I'll admit that the plan had some merits, but you practically imprisoned Chase! Didn't even bother freeing him, you left him there in the secret dungeon cell while we REHEARSED our act for the princess!" Sweetie hissed.
"Well… I…" Claw trailed off.
"I may be a thief, but I do NOT condone kidnapping." Sweetie curtly said.
"Yes, Queen Sweetie. Now, hurry up and get me and the throne off of the castle roof before the Paw Patrol finds me here!" Claw sighed.
Rocky was sweeping through the castle with his radar scanner with Rubble, Chase was following Claw's scent trail, Rubble and Marshall following behind Rocky, Zuma was searching the castle moat for any signs of them, and Skye was searching Barkingburg from the air. "Don't worry, Princess. We'll find the crown, and Sweetie." Ryder reassured.
"I FOUND A SECRET PANEL IN THE CEILING! The thief must have taken the throne through it!" Rocky yelled out over their communications.
"Thanks for the update. Everyone else, what have you found?" Ben inquired.
"I got nothing." Marshall answered.
"I haven't found any scent of Sweetie!" Rubble replied.
"Dudes, I don't see any clues or hints in the moat." Zuma radioed in.
"I've got Claw's scent, it smells like it's coming from the castle roof!" Chase yelled.
"Skye! Go and check the roof for Claw and the throne!" Ryder commanded.
"I'm on it, Ryder!" Skye earnestly said as she turned around and started flying back to the castle.
All of a sudden, both Ben and Ryder's pup pads started to beep. "What the hell?" Ben exclaimed in shock as he saw the notification.
"The Air Patroller's taken off… but who's flying it?" Ryder pondered. Their own jet hovered at the castle roof and lowered the ramp, with Claw pushing the throne inside the Air Patroller before the ramp closed up.
Both Chase and Skye witnessed this, though Chase could only see the Air Patroller and not Claw. "Ryder, Ben, someone's piloting the Air Patroller!" Chase yelped.
"Claw just loaded the throne into the Air Patroller!" Skye reported.
"Stay on its tail until we figure out what's going on!" Ben told her.
"Roger that!" Skye replied before pursuing their stolen jet.
Flying up to the pilot cockpit of the Air Patroller, Skye's eyes widened as she saw Sweetie operating the Air Patroller's controls. "Ryder! The thief is Sweetie! She's got full control over the Air Patroller somehow!" Skye gasped.
"Ahem! That's QUEEN Sweetie to you! Now that I have the throne of Barkingburg, my autopilot Busby is going to fly me and my beloved knight Claw to make our very own kingdom! I'll be queen of wherever I land!" Sweetie chuckled over their radio communications.
"That pup! Someone's not getting her belly rubbed tonight." The Princess of Barkingburg huffed.
Ben decided to try and reason with the white terrier. "Sweetie, you know that monarchy doesn't work like that right?" Ben asked.
"Oh, pish posh. Sorry, Benny boy. I'm off to make my own kingdom!" Sweetie scoffed before the communication channel with the Air Patroller was closed off.
The roar of jet engines was heard as the Air Patroller accelerated rapidly, leaving Skye in the dust as Ben, Ryder, Chase, Marshall, Rocky, Zuma, and Rubble ran back to the prototype PAW Patroller and got buckled in. Ryder slammed down his foot onto the gas pedal and they drove off after the Air Patroller. Skye was unable to keep up with their jet. "Ryder! Without my air patroller pup pack's supersonic wings, there's no way I'm going to be able to keep up with Sweetie and Claw! What do we do!?" Skye cried out worriedly.
Ben pulled up the GPS of the Air Patroller and studied the path it had been taking. "If Sweetie is looking for a kingdom to create, and if this is the current direction she's taking, then she'll be in the jungle within two hours… Skye, return to the PAW Patroller and get buckled in. We're going to try and take a shortcut." Ben instructed.
"Got it!" Skye answered as she returned back to their mobile command center.
The side of the van opened up as Skye flew inside the new Paw Patroller. "How are we going to chase after Sweetie, dudes?" Zuma asked.
"Simple. We take a more direct route. Buckle up. Get secured in tight." Ryder simply responded.
"A more direct route!? There's no road that will take us to the jungle at a rate that will let us catch up to Sweetie!" Zuma protested. In response, Ryder pressed a button, and an alarm blared as blue lights shone inside the vehicle. Suddenly, they turned hard right and leapt over the guard rail of the road, heading straight into the ocean. The pups all screamed and closed their eyes in fear, not noticing that the Paw Patroller was transforming. Gaining fin-like metal parts and a sleeker figure, their vehicle dove beneath the surface of the ocean and jettisoned through the water at immense speeds. The pups opened their eyes and gasped as they saw water surrounding the Paw Patroller. "Dudes, how are we underwater!?" Zuma questioned.
"One of the new perks of this upgraded Paw Patroller." Ben chuckled as they zoomed through the seas.
Meanwhile, the twins and Tracker were helping Carlos dig for some relics. "We might not have shovels…" Ella began.
"But our paws sure do make good digging implements!" Tuck finished with a grin.
"Si, we pups are very good at digging!" Tracker agreed.
"The three of you could be archaeologist pups!" Carlos chuckled.
Tracker, Tuck, and Ella suddenly paused in the middle of their excavating. "I hear something…" Tuck commented.
"I do too, Tuck! What is it though?" Ella pondered.
"¡Escucha, avión!" Tracker exclaimed.
"I don't hear any... Airplane, wow! Tracker, great ears!" Carlos trailed off as he heard the jet engine in the sky above.
Looking up, they all saw the Air Patroller flying overhead. "Hey, wait a minute!" Tuck gasped. "That's the Air Patroller!" Ella pointed out. "But what's it doing here?!" Tracker wondered. "I guess we'll go and find out. Come on, pups!" Carlos exclaimed. "Tracker, Tuck, you two go on ahead! I'll try and contact Ryder and the others." Ella suggested.
"Greetings, subjects! I am your new ruler! And as your queen, I command you to give me all of your precious gems!" Sweetie announced as they exited the Air Patroller.
The monkeys chittered amongst themselves before handing Sweetie a banana. "Hey! That's not a gem!" Claw hissed at the capuchin.
"Oh, hush, Claw. It's fine. I'll take bananas. Queen Sweetie deserves the greatest banana collection in the world!" Sweetie silenced him. Carlos, Tracker, and Tuck came up to the queen and her throne. "Oh! More subjects. Hello, peasant and two pups. Who are you?" Sweetie cordially greeted them.
"¡Soy yo Tracker!" The potcake introduced himself.
"My name is Tuck, and that's my boyfriend Tracker!" Tuck translated.
"I'm Carlos, Tracker's owner. Tuck is visiting from Adventure City." Carlos told the two Barkingburg pups.
Claw narrowed his eyes and glared at Tracker and Tuck. "Two boy pups dating?" The Doberman growled disapprovingly.
Sweetie whipped her head around and gazed at Claw furiously. "CLAW! HOW DARE YOU! I went over this before with you! My kingdom is to be inclusive to everyone! Apologize to them!" Sweetie hissed.
"Sorry…" Claw half heartedly said, though it was evident he didn't really mean it.
"Please excuse my mate's behavior. He's still old fashioned." Sweetie sincerely said.
Meanwhile, Ella watched them from the brush, repeatedly trying to reach Ryder. "Come in, Ryder! It's Ella!" The golden retriever whispered.
"We're heading into the jungle. What's up?" Ryder asked.
"Well, your Air Patroller's already here at the Monkey Temple. With two pups that I don't know! And a throne!" Ella explained.
"Thanks for informing us. Please keep an eye on her, and let us know what she's up to. We'll be there soon!" Ben told her.
The call ended, and the Paw Patroller sped up as it leapt out of the water and transformed back into land mode before speeding through the jungle. "Time to pedal to the metal!" Ben yelled as he pressed his foot to the gas."You know, Tracker, you're lucky to have an owner like Carlos." Sweetie remarked as she ate a banana.
Claw clutched his stomach before running off, the banana having upset his tummy. "Why do you say that, Sweetie?" Tuck asked.
"MY owner doesn't pay much attention to me. She treats me like a toy. A doll." Sweetie scoffed.
"Oy oy oy, are you sure you aren't exaggerating?" Tracker protested.
"I'm sure. She brushes me like a toy. My fur is always sore after she grooms me. She makes me wear humiliating outfits… and none of them look good on me except for the dress. That's why I wear this outfit all of the time. If I'm already wearing something, I won't get forced into something else." Sweetie grumbled.
"At least she gives you food and water, and a home…" Tuck hesitantly said, trying to find something to defend the princess.
"You mean tap water and crap tasting kibble? FLIES taste better than the food she gives me! I eat the stuff that the castle chefs throw away, or have surplus of. The moat water also tastes better than the water in my bowl! Though not by a large margin." Sweetie snarled.
"It's true, though I think the bit about the water is a tad overly exaggerated. Tap water's not that bad." Claw remarked.
Carlos, Tracker, Tuck, and Ella were all appalled by this information. The Princess of Barkingburg treated her pup like this? "Well, that's enough chit chat. I'm off to my temple." Sweetie stated before she pointed at the temple door.
The monkeys that listened to her picked the throne of Barkingburg up and attempted to go inside the temple, but then Mandy showed up. Claw immediately stepped forward, sensing danger. Mandy screeched and hooted angrily, her vocalizations territorial-sounding. "Bloody hell, there's already a monkey queen here!?" Sweetie groaned.
Letting out a war cry, the rightful jungle ruler started to charge towards Sweetie, and Claw rushed forwards to intercept her. "Go! Get to the jet!" Claw barked at her.
"Monkeys! Get me back to the Air Patroller!" Sweetie commanded.
The loyal ones nodded their heads and loaded Sweetie and the throne onto the Air Patroller, and Claw fought Mandy before he got socked in the face by her fist.
Snarling, Claw bit down on Mandy's other fist, tossing Mandy aside before retreating into the Air Patroller. "Abandon kingdom!" Claw shouted as he boarded their jet, with Sweetie and Claw flying off in the Air Patroller just as the new Paw Patroller arrived in front of the monkey temple.
The two humans and six pups ran out to meet them. "Sorry we couldn't keep her here long enough, Ryder. SOMEONE decided to screw things up." Tuck apologized, glaring at Mandy. The monkey hooted at him indignantly.
"¡Oye, cálmate! Monkeys mess things up! It's what they do!" Tracker scolded his mate.
"You did speak to her though?" Ryder inquired.
"Yeah, we did. I think I have a better idea of why she's doing this… I honestly feel bad for her." Carlos replied.
Ben's eyes widened. "Tell me everything." Ben ordered.
Carlos, Tracker, Tuck, and Ella relayed what Sweetie told them about what her life was like at the Barkingburg castle. "...and Claw confirmed that the food was terrible, but the water wasn't as bad as Sweetie said. Either way, it's really unsettling." Carlos finished telling them what the two Barkingburg pups had told them.
All eight of the primary Paw Patrol members were shocked by this info. "N-no way…" Chase gasped, completely taken aback by this revelation.
"I-Is she serious?!" Marshall yelped in disbelief.
"That's awful…" Skye whimpered, pitying the white canine.
"H-how!?" Rocky blurted out, unable to comprehend why the Princess would act this way.
"W-why would…?" Rubble sniffled, saddened by the idea of having to eat such terrible food all the time.
"Totally not cool, dudes." Zuma muttered with a cross and sad expression on his face.
"The Princess is really like this when we aren't around?" Ryder sadly said.
"I can't believe this… how could ANYONE treat their pup like that?!" Ben yelled in outrage.
"I don't know, Ben. Barkingburg doesn't have many talking canines. They originally used to exist only in America, before some were brought to Barkingburg." Ryder replied.
"Whatever it is, we need to find Sweetie and get the royal throne back, as well as the Air Patroller. Then I'm going to give the Princess a piece of my mind when I get back." Ben growled.
"I feel really bad for Sweetie… I wish I could help her, but I don't know how." Ella sighed.
Tracker and Tuck looked at each other, their thoughts on the same wavelength. "I think I know what she needs!" Tuck suggested.
"What does she need?" Carlos wondered.
"¡Amigos!" Tracker earnestly answered.
Ben nodded his head in agreement. "Sweetie really could use a friend… one that isn't Claw." Ben commented.
As they drove in the Paw Patroller, the three new pups were outfitted in their very own Mission Paw gear. "Wow, this is awesome!" Ella squealed as she was clad in a gold secret agent style suit.
"I feel amazing!" Tuck agreed.
"And this gear is fantastico!" Tracker added.
They then received a call from the Princess of Barkingburg. "Ryder, have you found my throne yet?" The Princess asked. "We did, but they got away." Ryder answered, trying to maintain a neutral expression.
"Oh, that pup. No more hand bags of treats for her." The Princess sighed.
Ben arched an eyebrow at that. "You give them hand bags of treats?" Ben skeptically said.
"...Once a month. Normally they just eat their pup food. I'm sure they love it, though! Sweetie told me on the day that she got her that any brand that I gave her would be her favorite." The Princess replied. "And… you never asked her that again?" Ben asked.
"No, I never felt like I needed to. She's my pup, and she'll always love me." The Princess innocently said.
Ben forced a smile, which immediately alerted Ryder that the young boy was about to blow his top. "Well, duty calls! We're about to go underwater. We'll talk to you when we get the throne back. Bye!" Ryder quickly announced before hanging up.
"THAT ROYAL PRISSY DOESN'T DESERVE SWEETIE!" Ben screamed angrily when the call ended.
"Ben, it could be that she's busy with preparing to become queen, and doesn't really have the time to properly care for Sweetie. Or she is preoccupied with the stress of inheriting the eventual rulership of her kingdom." Ryder pointed out.
"I DON'T CARE, NO ONE SHOULD TREAT THEIR PET LIKE THAT, EVEN IF THEY AREN'T USED TO HAVING TALKING DOGS!" Ben yelled in fury.
"¡Ben, cálmate, por favor!" Tracker pleaded.
"We can help Sweetie, but we have to find her and the throne first!" Chase told him.
The young man took a deep breath in and exhaled, releasing his anger. "You're right, we'll deal with the Princess later. Right now, we need to finish our mission." Ben said.
As the Air Patroller landed in the Arctic, Sweetie and the Royal Throne slid down the ramp, across the ice, and into a pile of snow. "Queen Sweetie!" Claw yelped as he ran to pull her out of the snow. A group of penguins waddled up to them and presented them with fish. Sweetie stuck her tongue out at the strong smell. "What's that?" Sweetie grimaced.
Claw, however, had a much more positive reaction to the fish. "SALMON! It's salmon, Sweetie! Seafood!" Claw squealed as he started to cut up the fish and clean it to the best of his ability using his pup pack's pocket knife.
Sweetie couldn't help but watch, and then Claw offered her some. The taste… well, it wasn't the best thing she had eaten, that belonged to the castle hamburgers. But this was far more tasty than any of the awful pup kibble they had at the castle.
When they were finished dining, Sweetie wiped off her mouth on her jumpsuit. "Well, that was an excellent offering to your new queen, mister penguin. Now, my loyal subjects! As your new ruler, I order you to heed my first royal command. Build your beloved queen an ice castle! Not just ANY ice castle, mind you! I want it to be the most magnificent frozen fortification ever seen in... THE SOUTH SWEETIE POLE!" Sweetie commanded.
The penguins got to work, and their construction of the ice castle attracted the attention of two visitors to the Arctic: Jake and Everest. "Darn. This looks too flat for snowboarding…" Everest sighed, disappointed that she wouldn't get to do any Arctic snowboarding for a while.
"Yeah, but it's great for penguin watching! It looks like there's a whole bunch of our flipper-y friends over there!" Jake pointed out.
Everest saw the black and white flightless birds by their team's jet, and chuckled as she saw them carrying ice blocks. "Yeah, you're right Jake! There's a lot of penguins by the Air Patroller!" Everest noted. Then she realized something was amiss, and Jake realized it too. "The Air Patroller?!" The husky and her owner gasped.
"Where's Ryder and the Paw Patrol?!" Everest wondered.
As they got closer to their team's jet, they saw a Doberman standing guard next to the Air Patroller while the penguins created an ice block castle around a white West Highland terrier sitting in a throne. "I'll pup tag Ryder and see what's going on." Everest decided.
"And I'll go say hi to our new friend!" Jake added.
The mountain man grabbed his snowboard from Everest's snowcat and hopped on it, riding down the ice towards the work in progress structure. "Ooh! Don't forget the drawbridge!" Claw yelled out as the penguins added more ice blocks to the fort.
"A drawbridge!? That requires more than just ice!" Sweetie protested.
They were about to get into a bickering argument before Jake came in and interrupted it. "Howdy! Name's Jake! Nice castle you got. So, uh, I couldn't help but notice the Air Patroller parked right next to your castle. Where's Ryder?" Jake greeted the white canine.
Sweetie froze up for a second before quickly crafting a response. "I borrowed it from him so I could make my own kingdom. It's okay, I'm a queen. See? This throne is proof of it!" Sweetie answered.
Jake scratched his head as he thought about her reply. "Little dudette, I'm not sure that monarchy works that way. Don't you have to like, inherit the rulership from your parents or family members in order to be made Queen or King?" Jake pointed out.
"Oh, pish posh. I'm queen and none of these penguins have made a protest about it. This is MY royal ice castle… and I command YOU, tall person, to help finish it!" Sweetie then demanded.
Jake sighed and started helping build the castle. Hopefully this would distract her…
Everest had just gotten the rundown from Ryder and Ben on what had happened. "So that's what the Air Patroller is doing here. Those pups took it!" Everest hissed. "Yeah, and they've already escaped from us in the jungle. We need to stop this here and now. Ben and I have been working on a plan, but it's going to require all of you to help." Ryder announced.
"But Ryder, as long as they have the Air Patroller, they can continue this wild goose chase!" Rocky pointed out.
"Which is why we have to take our jet back from them! We'll be splitting into two teams. Team A is going to stop Sweetie, and Team B is going to get the Air Patroller back from Claw." Ben explained.
"But who's on what team?" Rubble wondered.
"Team A will consist of Everest, Skye, Zuma, and Ella. Everest will distract Sweetie and then seal her inside the ice block castle when we give the signal to her. Skye, if Sweetie tries to escape, you can dump a bucket of water on her. That should stun her and keep her from thinking of a plan. Zuma, you'll be on standby if the ice breaks and anyone falls into the water. Ella, if someone does fall in, you'll need to treat them for hypothermia and any additional injuries they might sustain." Ben instructed.
"Tuck and Rocky, the two of you are our most tech-savvy pups. Somehow, Sweetie has hacked the Air Patroller. The two of you will sneak inside using the invisibility cloaking device in Tuck's pup pack and hack Sweetie's hacking. Everest reported that Claw is in the Air Patroller standing guard, though, so we'll need to create a diversion. That's where the rest of you come in. Chase, you'll trap Claw in your net. Marshall, you'll hose him down with your hydro launcher. Rubble, your shovel can fling a few snowballs at Claw, and Tracker, you might need to grab him with your cables." Ryder told them as their upgraded Paw Patroller rocketed through the oceans towards the Arctic.
All of the pups nodded their heads in understanding. This was going to be big, and they needed to tread carefully. Barkingburg was counting on them! Going into land mode, the Paw Patroller turned invisible as it drove across the ice and parked next to the Air Patroller. The team quietly disembarked from their vehicle and made their way to their designated spots. Tuck and Rocky went invisible with the cloaking device in Tuck's pup pack, and Ben gave Everest her own Mission PAW gear.
Ryder stood by in the PAW Patroller while Everest, Jake, and their penguin pals pushed the final ice block into place, making it so that Sweetie couldn't get out. "HEY! I can't leave my castle! I command you to build a castle back door!" Sweetie protested.
"Sorry, meanie queenie, you're staying there till the PAW Patrol gets here!" Everest shot back in response.
Sweetie started to run forward and try to jump over the ice blocks, but Skye swooped in and poured the bucket of water on her, causing her to freeze up as she was soaked. "H-hey!" Sweetie yelped. Ella leapt inside the ice castle and covered Sweetie in a blanket so she wouldn't get hypothermia. "Trap her now, Everest! I'll be fine!" Ella yelled out.
The husky nodded her head in understanding. "ARF, FREEZE RAY!" Everest barked. The frozen blaster emerged from her secret agent pup pack and covered the ice castle's holes, preventing them from escaping.
All of a sudden, the ice beneath them began to crack. "Oh no! The castle must be too heavy for the ice to hold up!" Ella gasped. "How are we going to get out then!? Your friend turned my frozen castle into a frozen prison!" Sweetie worriedly said.
"Bandage launcher!" Ella shouted, and she fired off a bandage from her pup pack that was very long and stretchy.
Using it as a makeshift grapple, she pulled herself and Sweetie to safety. Jake, however, wasn't as lucky. He had gone after a penguin and then became stranded on a floe of ice that had broken off. Zuma rode in on his mini submarine and grabbed Jake with a buoy, pulling him and the ice floe to safety. "Like water skiing but a lot chillier." Jake remarked as they regrouped at the new PAW Patroller.
"I'm sorry, Jake. I didn't mean to put you in danger…" Sweetie apologized.
Everest glared at her, miffed about Jake nearly slipping into the icy waters. "You're sorry? Really?" Everest skeptically snorted. Sweetie stepped backwards and nodded her head rapidly. "Yes, I truly am! I might be a thief, stealing the crown and the throne, but I did it because I wanted to have attention and luxury, something my owner rarely ever gave me. I never wanted anyone to get hurt because of my actions." Sweetie responded.
Meanwhile, Chase, Marshall, Rubble, and Tracker were drawing Claw's attention as they ran onto the Air Patroller. Rubble flung a snowball at the Doberman, hitting him directly in the face. "Got ya!" Rubble giggled. "Get off my queen's plane, peasant." The knight growled as he leapt at Rubble. Marshall blasted him down with his high pressure water cannons, causing the knight to skid across the ice. "Oh, that does it." Claw hissed.
The pup barked out the pocketknife from his pup pack, and Tracker reacted instinctively. "¡No te atrevas!" Tracker shouted before barking out his cables.
One of them launched forward and socked Claw directly in the nose, which made him stumble backwards and dazed him for a minute. This allowed Chase to trap him under his net. "Got it!" Rocky and Tuck cheered as they removed Bubsy from the Air Patroller, reversing the hack. Loading the throne onto the Air Patroller, Ben flew the jet back to Barkingburg while the other pups took Claw in the new PAW Patroller, dropping off Tracker, Tuck, and Ella along the way.
"Is everything you told our friends in the jungle true? About how the Princess treats you?" Ben asked Sweetie.
The terrier looked down at the floor before sighing. "...Yes." Sweetie answered.
"She doesn't deserve you." Ben darkly said.
"...I make her happy. That's what my purpose is." Sweetie replied.
"I'll show you there's more to life than making others happy. Your happiness is important too." Ben promised.
