Welcome go a new chapter of GBPT Vol 2! today we have a bit of a drama filled chapter, and some thing happening that are setting up to tone and future events in the story, I hope all of you enjoy this chapter.

Hey everyone, I wanted to once again thank those who donated to me to help me via Cash app, I really appreciate it, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you to those who helped me.
It was getting a bit hard to focus on writing, the stress and worries is getting to me and a lot of things are happening in my end, I'm trying to keep positive and hope.

spellboundfool: It funny how some forget, tht Rean is capable of some really crazy stuff, he really has some very power and dangerous abilies, that make him a formidable opponent, and Serafall can be relentless for sure, but he's jus making sure Tuka is alright in her own quirky way and yeah, Yao mess up a bit lol.

Chapter 12.
Meia stared at Yao as she continued to have her head against her table, she really wanted to help her, but she couldn't sell her book, not only does she need it, she was told not to sell or give to anyone by the Green people and her boss, she really didn't want to lose her job for something like this "I understand how you feel, but if I sell you the book I'll be fired".
Suddenly, two JSDF Soldiers stepped into the store and greeted Meia "hey Meia-chan".
Meia turned her head towards the soldiers, while they noticed Yao in front of her counter, which looks mighty odd to them "err, having some trouble?".
Meia nervously shook her head, she didn't want Yao to get in trouble "no, everything is fine!".
Both JSDF soldiers walked up to Yao and Meia, once close they got a better look at Yao who had turned her head to look at them, one of the JSDF seemed to have somehow recognize her.
He turned his head to his partner, who began to speak "caramel colored skin, silver hair... a beautiful girl in leather armor with Elf ears, that matches the description of the mugger".
The other JSDF soldier nodded "that's right".
Yao listened to all the both of them speak, but she was very confused as to what they were saying, though she got the feeling that they were talking about her.
Both JSDF soldiers then walked up to Yao and smiled as to not scared her, one of them decided to greet her "hello there miss".
The other JSDF soldier then continued "we'd like to talk to you for a while".
Yao however stared in confusion at both JSDF soldiers since she didn't understand them, Meia noticed and decided to help a bit "they said they want to talk to you".
Yao gasped in surprise and a bit of disbelief, she began to tear up since she had been trying to speak to with the Green People for a long while now and it seems that her luck was changing now "what did you-".
Meia looked at Yao a bit astonished with her reaction, one of the JSDF soldiers, decided to use the little bit he knew about the Special Region language and say "we want to talk to you".
It sounded a bit sloppy, but it was enough for Yao, and she suddenly screamed and hugged the soldier in relief and excitement, this of course surprised the JSDF soldiers and Meia, but the soldier that spoke to her continued speaking despite the surprise "err will you come with us?".
Yao, pushed the soldier back a bit and widely smiled "yes! I sure will!".
The JSDF soldier nodded and then turned around "then come this way".
Yao nodded and followed the JSDF soldiers as they began to leave the store, Meia however was a bit nervous about the whole thing "is she going to be okay?".
Meanwhile, in a forest nearby to JSDF headquarters.
Lelei was showing off one of her new spells to Kato, she stood in the middle of a small clearing and began to gather Mana into a basketball size orb, as she did so, she began to compress the orb as much as she could while still gathering more and more Mana into it.
The orb began to shrink and change colors, it was at first sky blue but now was a dark navy blue in color, though Lelei noticed that it was getting harder to keep compressing the orb of Mana.
So, she decided that it was enough for now, she quickly pushed her hand into the orb and then took aim, four circles of Mana spread forward from the orb creating a sort of barrel like Mana construct in front of the orb of Mana.
It resembled the barrel of a gun, which is what she used as a base to make this spell, she suddenly reared her arm back with the orb on her hand, and then waved it forward into the first Mana circle while snapping her fingers as the orb touched the first circle.
The was a small explosion of flames between her hand and the orb of Mana, which propelled the Orb forward and though the other four rings of Mana, the orb picked up speed and then flew out of the last ring of Mana at high speed until it crashed into a small a lake in front of Lelei.
The Mana compressed and gathered into the orb, exploded on contact with the water of the lake, it was quite a big explosion, one that sent water raining down everywhere.
Lelei stood there and watched just how powerful her new spell is, as water rained down on her, Kato stared at her for a few moments and then nodded "splendid, Lelei, that's my-".
But Kato was suddenly cut off, when a massive amount of water suddenly came down from the sky and fell on him, Lelei ignored that though and picked up a book she had brought with her about Chemistry "knowledge of reality's fundamental principles beyond the GATE is far ahead of us, both wider and deeper... I'm glad Rean was able to help me study".
Lelei then looked up "next I should try what Rean suggested, make the orb spin at high speed, tighten the rings of Mana and add electricity to the mix, what do he call it again?...like a Railgun?".
While Lelei though about Rean's suggestion, Kato recovered and sputtered as water had gotten everywhere, but he quickly recomposed himself and began to speak again "that was so wonderful, I've got nothing to say.
Amazing Lelei, with your help, the potential uses of magic will be greatly expanded, even if you've been inspired by other world's research, making that part of your own Magic is worthy of a doctorate!".
Lelei shook her head "it's not strong enough yet, with Rean's suggestions, I should be able to make my new spell even stronger and more practical as well".
Kato nodded, but then noticed someone walking over to them, he then pointed at them "whoa, you have a visitor".
Lelei turned around to see who Kato was pointing at and saw a JSDF soldier, standing there and saluting at her, the soldier having greeted Lelei began to speak "sorry to bother you, but we need you to interpret for us".
Lelei, of course didn't mind helping the JSDF, but it was a bit of a surprise that they asked her to do so, after all, most of the JSDF can somewhat understand Special Region language a bit, and most can get by because the people living in the town around JSDF headquarters, spoke Japanese now, thanks to the books Rean and Serafall made.
Still, Lelei would help, after all, she owes a lot to the JSDF and she wanted to help as best as should could with anything they might need.
Sometime after.
In a dark room, a lamp was suddenly turned on, Yao, had been interrogated and questioned for a while, and was even treated to a meal by the JSDF, Lelei watched behind a glass window as Yao just sat there while looking down.
The JSDF soldier that brought her to help, began to explain the situation "she was brought in for suspicion of mugging... but what she says is nothing like a victim's story, we're pretty confused.
Plus, she keeps talking about how she was attacked and need us to save her, can you help us? Serafall and Rory are out, something about training new Pokémon, so your the only one on base right now".
Lelie nodded as she stared at the very obvious nervous and sad Dark Elf, now even herself was very curious about what was going on".
A minute later, Lelei stepped inside the room where Yao was being kept and took a seat in front of her, Lelei immediately began to talk to her "Yao Ha Dushi, please talk to me".
Yao looked up an stared at Lelei "who are you?".
Lelei decided to introduce herself "I'm Lelei, I understand the mysteries of Japanese".
After a while.
Many JSDF soldiers and helpers began to gather the men, Yao had beaten up and mugged, they now knew these men lied to them, so they would arrest Yao, when they're were the ones who were planning to mug her or worse in the first place.
That's sort of thing isn't allowed in Alnus town and it made the JSDF and their helpers rather annoyed that it was happening under their noses, all the men were brought in and interrogated with Pokémon surrounding them.
This terrified the muggers since the Pokémon were glaring at them pretty fiercely, and so they ended up confessing what they had tried to do to Yao, and how they really did lie to the JSDF, these men would be arrested and then afterwards exiled from Alnus town.
No one wanted these kind of men in town and the muggers, now that their faces were known, will not be able to enter the town, and even then, being arrested for a while is going to suck for them too.
After a few hours.
The Muggers were all arrested and a JSDF soldiers began to explain to Yao what had happened "the men who filed the report against you, confessed everything, they'd been arrested as the rest for attempting to assault Yao, after they stay a while in jail, they'll be sent to Italica".
Lelei translated all of this to Yao and then said "which means...".
The JSDF soldier nodded "yes".
Lelei nodded back and then said to Yao "you have been proven innocent, you are free to go".
Lelei was about to stand up to leave, and when Yao noticed her do so, she immediately stood up and called out to her "wait!"
Lelei was bit surprised by Yao's sudden outburst, but she didn't have any time to say anything, because Yao quickly began to explain "my clan was attacked by a pair of Fire Dragons!".
Lelei narrowed her eyes "Fire Dragons?".
Yao nodded "thats right! a pair of Fire Dragons! I want to talk to the Green people! I'm begging you!".
Lelei widen her eyes at how desperate Yao seems, and jumped when Yao suddenly bowed hard enough to shake the table between them, this also surprised the JSDF soldier in the room with them.
But Yao was too stresses and very desperate to noticed all of this, all she really cared about right now was getting help for her clan "please!".
Lelei thought back on the day her and the caravan of villager were attacked by the Fire Dragon, it was only thanks to Rean and the JSDF, that many of them survived the attack and the Fire Dragon as killed.
So she understood how afraid and desperate Yao was feeling right now, she knew what Yao wanted but asked to confirm "you want me to tell the Japanese you need help?".
Yao looked up and nodded "that's right".
Lelei stared at Yao's eyes "is that all?".
Yao twitched but then sighed "from the looks if it, you have some influence with them, I'd like to ask you, too, if you can...".
Lelei nodded "all right".
Yao bowed towards Lelei and closed her eyes "I'm grateful".
Lelei then took Yao to meet with General Hazama and helped explain the situation, and what she wanted to ask the JSDF to do for her, it took quite a bit of time to explain everything and once she did, General Hazama sighed "Yao Ha Dushi, I'm sorry we can't help".
Lelei translated this to Yao who asked her why General Hazama had said, Lelei then said "they can't help, he says".
Yao gasped and then turned her head towards General Hazama in a panic "wait!".
General Hazama, knowing that Yao was about to star begging for help, decided to explain further "your homeland, the Shwartz Woods, lies beyond the borders of the Empire, in the province of Elbe.
You know what it would mean for an army to cross those borders without permission?... it would mean a declaration of war".
Lelei translated all of this to Yao, which only serve to fil her with both disappointment and fear, Lelei then said "you should give up, he's right".
Yao however, continued to try "it doesn't have to be a huge army, I heard only about a dozen Green People killed the Fire Dragon, that would be-".
General Hazama shook his head "not at all, it was only because they had help from very powerful individuals that they we're able to kill that Dragon.
Sending such a small number of soldiers, would mean sending my men to their deaths, I cannot give such an order".
Yao slump in her seat and sighed as she stared in in silence towards General Hazama, the General looked down "I'm sorry to say this after you've come so far".
Lelei had been translating everything, and Yao could only stared in disbelief and despair "no...".
As she stared at General Hazama, the words of her elders echoed in her head *however, even when faced with such great misfortune, your Spirit has refused to yield, we shall entrust you with the fate of our clan.
Then go, return with help of the Green people*.
Before, those words filled her with pride and determination to help her clan, but now? now they filled her with dread, with fear of having failed and the destruction of her clan.
Rain began to heavily fall in Alnus, and it made things seem even more gloomy, Lieutenant Yanagida chose to drive Yao and Lelei into town, but Yao was completely heartbroken and unresponsive the whole time.
And even someone like Yanagida, felt bad for her and her situation, so he decided to help in his own way, he looked to the side and then said "Itami or Rean might do it".
Lelei noticed what Yanagida said and what he was trying to do, so she translated to Yao "he said that Itami or Rean might do it".
Yao right now, even though she was still in shock and filled with despair, was listening, Yanagida however decided to just continue "for Itami, if it were to save someone he cares about he might just do it.
For Rean though... I wouldn't recommend messing with anyone he cares about... he might finish what the Fire Dragon are doing and kill all of you, if you involved anyone he cares about, I would just honestly ask him to help".
Meanwhile, outside of the Empire walls and into a far off forest, the Carrier Helicopter landed, Yōji and Rean immediately stood up and got out of the Helicopter though Yōji had to help the Foreign Affairs officer Tetsuo step out of the Helicopter.
Tetsou got out the Helicopter and looked around "we're pretty deep in the mountains!".
Yōji smiled and nodded "we don't want the Imperial leaders finding out about this! next, we're heading to meet the locals.".
After getting everything Tetsou brought into horse drawn carts, Yōji, Rean and the group took off at high speed through the forest towards the meeting point, Yōjit hen decided to explain a bit more to Tetsou "our guest should be there".
Tetsou seemed surprised "oh? someone you know from the Capital?".
Yōji smiled and nodded "yes, I'm told Hamilton-san is coming with her men".
But I smild and spoke up "she didn't come alone though, I can sense a familiar energy signature with her".
Yōji turned his head towards me and raised an eyebrow, but I smiled and pointed with a nod towards our front, since the carts were breaking out of the forest, we can now see the group of people waiting for us, Yōji turned his head towards the front and noticed Piña standing besides Hamilton.
Princess Piña smiled and called out to Itami, as soon as she saw him and his caravan approaching "Itami! thanks for coming!".
Yōji got off the cart and stared at Piña in confusion, Tetsou also got off the cart and followed him, I myself jumped down and checked on everyone else while Yōji finally began to speak "huh? why?".
Princess Piña just cheerfully smiled at Itami, while he just nervously smiled back, Tesou was very confused though and so he decided to ask Itami who exactly was in front of them ""who is this?".
Yōji nervous laughed and then answered Tetsou's question "Piña Co Lada... the third Princess of the Empire".
Tetsou literally gaped and flinched away from Yōji in shock, I don't blame though, I'm sure he didn't expect Piña to be here to meet us.
Soon after, introductions were made and I said hello to everyone, I had met some the Knights of the Rose Order on occasion, with Piña helping the JSDF to work towards peace, her Knights have been coming to Alnus once in a while to speak with them and plan on what to do.
So I was somewhat familiar with some of them, especially Hamilton, who is one of the ones who visits Alnus often, Tetsou, was more nervous than anything as he was introducing himself to the Knights.
Meanwhile, Yōji was speaking with Piña, who wasted no time in catching up with him "it's been so long, since we returned from Japan".
Yōji smiled and nodded "what are you doing here?".
Piña answered Yōji's questions with a smile on her face "oh, I heard from Sugawara that a new diplomat would be joining us.
I wanted to get to know him first... and..." Piña suddenly began to look rather nervous and sus, which just confused Yōji.
The Princess suddenly blushed and turned her head away from Yōji, no doubt she was feeling embarrassed "um..I wanted to get my package, too".
Yōji raised an eyebrow in confusion "package?".
Piña suddenly panicked and jumped on Yōji "Bozes didn't give it to you?!".
This of course, made Yōji jump in surprise "give me what?".
Piña suddenly grabbed Yōji by his clothes and began to shake him "what else could it be?!".
Poor Yōji was so confused and quite rattled by the Piña's shaking, I couldn't help but chuckle and walk up to them, I took out said package from my inventory and called out to Piña "I have your package Piña".
Piña gasped and looked utterly happy, I then handed it her a small paperbag with a book inside, she immediately took the book out and stared at it in excitement "this is what I was waiting for!".
Yōji deadpanned at Piña, as he noticed the kind of book she was holding as if it was made of gold or something "... a Boys love book?...".
Tetsou noticed the excitement and chose to ask what was going on "what did she sent you?".
Piña twitch and hugged the book to her body "it's art!".
Tetsou looked confused while Yōji just shook his head and sighed, I on the other hand, laughed a bit "trust me, Tetsou, you don't want to know"..
The Foreign Affairs Officer looked very confused still, but nodded and decided to trust me, good thing thing too, asking too much about Princess Piña's likes in art, would lead you to fall in a deep and dark pit, one you might never come out of.
Meanwhile, back in Alnus.
The rain had slowed down and Yao, along Lelei had been brought back into to town, Lelei, not wanting to leave Yao by herself in her current condition, decided to take her to one of the new establishments in town, one where you can sit, enjoy a cup of tea and a pastry in peace.
However, at the same time, at this same establishment, sat four members of the Rose Knights order, Bozes was one among the group and together they were enjoying some free time and talking about their interests, of course, among those interests were Boy's love books, which were on the table in front of them.
These Knights are stationed in Alnus, to both, learn Japanese and help the JSDF, of course they also had other things to do and that's what they were talking about right now "I've finished translating these, and sent them to Princess Piña for the first package".
Bozes was actually pretty proud of her job well done, of course the other three were also happy, because they had helped in translating the books, one of them smiled and said "now, we'll select books to be translated and sent in the second package".
One of the younger Knight smiled and excitedly smiled "please, leave the translation to me!".
Bozes smiled "don't be in such a hurry, we'll decide how to split up the work".
Suddenly, a man dress as a butler walked up to the table the Knights were sitting on and spoke to them "miss".
The Knights turned their head towards the butler and he immediately began to explain what he was doing here "we have some new tea leaves today, please try them".
Soon after, the Butler served them a cup of tea and some new pastries for them to try, which made the Knights awe at how delicious they seem, one of them tried it right away and brightly smiled at the taste "it's good!" she quickly turned her head towards the butler "what are these sweets?".
The butler explain right away "these are from Aoyama, Japan, prepared by a famous pastry chef, they are called Mille-feuille Glacé".
Bozes smiled and sighed "splendid! how does Japan elevate even the smallest dishes into works of art?".
The other Knights nodded and said at the same time "right?!".
The fourth Knight tried the pastry as well, and smiled at the taste "its wonderful".
The butler smiled and lightly bowed "excuse me" he quickly turned around and left while nervously smiling, he had seen the type of books these women had all over the table and he had been creep out.
He suddenly stopped a fair distance away and sighed "they're all rotten... how the hell am I suppose to report this?".
The butler left feeling somehow defeated, while doing so, he walked past a few JSDF soldiers that were there waiting for a table, one of them, Colonel Kamo noticed him "he's from section 2 intelligence, right?".
Colonel Kengun stared the the butler "a butler, huh?".
Lieutenant Colonel Youga nodded "rumor has it Yanagida sent him to Ikebukuro for training".
Kamo looked mighty surprised with that bit of information "uh, wow".
The fourth member of their party, Lieutenant Colonel Tsuge, noticed both Yao and Lelei sitting on a table in the corner of the establishment "hey check it out".
All four JSDF soldiers turned thei attention towards, where Yao ad Lelei were sitting, a maid had walked over and put a cup of tea in front of Yao "here you are".
The maid is a Warrior Bunny, and she was confused at how unresponsive Yao seems to be right now, but soon shrugged and left not worried about it, Lelei, who is sitting in front of Yao, spoke "Saint John's Wort herbal tea, it's said to ease depression and anxiety".
Yao looked down towards the tea and stared at it for a good few seconds, Lelei then said "drink".
Yao silently reach over and grabbed the cup of tea, and lifted off the table, slowly she took a sip of the tea, but then suddenly began to gulped it down until she finished it.
Lelei quickly lifted the Teapot brought by the maid and served her more tea "drink".
Yao did so, this time however more slowly and calmly, she then leaned back on her chair and began to speak "it's like... I was in a nightmare, none if it seems real, yes that's right, it was a dream...".
Lelei served herself some tea and took a sip, while Yao continued to word what she was feeling right now, though right at moment she found amusement in the way Lelei seemed very nonchalant "isn't there something you can say? that it was just a mistranslation?".
Lelei seemed a bit perplexed with what Yao just said, but still calmly responded "it wasn't a dream or a mistake, the words you heard, the things you saw... they were all real".
Lelei wasn't saying all of this to be cruel, rather she wanted Yao to accept what was going on, living in denial is never a good thing and it will prevent her from doing what she needs to do.
But Yao wasn't in a state of mind to listen to logic or accept her situation, so she snapped "tell me it was a mistake!".
But Lelei silently stared into her eyes, causing Yao to stop in her tracks and stare back, her mind understood and it all just hit her too hard, the Dark Elf couldn't help it and her eyes began to be filled with tears, until she began to cry in frustration.
Yao looked down, closed her eyes and tighten her fist as she continued to cry, she slowly said "please... tell me it was a mistake, why can't they help?".
Lelei just silently watched Yao vent, but then decided to explain "General Hazama explained".
Yao continued to cry in frustration "but that's just... it's just...".
The War Bunny has listening to all of this, and she couldn't help but sigh, she then walked away from, where she was listening and walked into the kitchen, as soon as she got inside she began to speak with one of the cooks "sheesh... it's like a funeral out there".
The cook nodded "they say General Hazama refused her request to take out that Fire Dragon".
The Warrior Bunny frowned "is it because she called Rory a child?".
The cook shook his head "probably not, Itami wasn't involved in this and neither was Rean".
The Warrior Bunny nodded "which means it's a big picture thing, all the Commanders are here, too, I need to get better at understanding Japanese".
The cook sighed "Delilah, I won't complain about your secret part time job, but I don't want to lose my job here, if anything happens, I'll give them your name right away".
Delilah smiled "I know".
The Cook huffed "and watch out for the Pokémon, unlike the JSDF, they won't be as kind or nice with you if they catch you doing something bad".
Delilah frowned, her cook friend had a good point, those Pokémon were very dangerous, and frighteningly intelligent as well, so she's going to have to be very careful.
Back with Yao and Lelei.
While Yao was still, pretty much crying because of her situation, the JSDF Soldiers, who had been seated on a table besides them and had heard everything, began to speak among themselves.
Kamo sighed and turned his head towards the soldier sitting besides him "Youga, can't we do something?".
Youga closed his eyes and sighed "no way, Ichigaya told us not to do anything that might give the opposition party any ammunition".

Tsuge grumbled a bit, while Kamo shook his head "still, we can't just seat here, a woman is crying... we just need to eliminate two Dragons using a minimum of force, and without causing a fuss, isn't there some way?".
Tsuge hummed "what about the ASDF's Phantoms?".
Youga shook his head "the first Fire Dragon was a flying tank according to the reports, it was only because Rean and the Pokémon that, Itami and his team could kill it, otherwise, at best it would have been scared away.
The Phantoms just don't have enough power... if it were me, I'd attack with the Phantoms first, forcing the Dragon to an altitude of twenty meters or lower.

As Yao pondered what to do, she kept walking and eventually arrived towards where Lelei, had pointed the Co-op building to be, as she got close she saw Rory arrive being followed by a green enormous lizard creature.
She seemed a bit ruffled and dirty, but was smiling widely, she was even happily speaking with the crature "you really are very fast Sceptile, I still can't clearly see you when you move at full speed, luckily I can react on instinct"
Sceptile nodded and grinned at Rory, the Goddess then noticed Yao and tilted her head "oh, I remember you".
But Yao just ignored her and walked inside the Co-op building, Rory raised an eyebrow "hm? I wonder why she seemed in a bad a mood".
Sceptile shrugged, Rory smiled and the began to continue walking toward the Refugee Cabin "yeah, let just go, I'm sure Serafall is already making dinner and I'm very hungry, I bet you are too".
Sceptile nodded and together left to go back to the Refugee camp and meet up with Serafall, who they were sure, was cooking dinner.
Yao stepped inside the Co-op building and called out "excuse me".
Tuka, who was today helping in the Co-op building and was carving a small red crystal with a Rune while sitting at the front desk, turned her head towards Yao when she heard her called out, she smiled as soon as she saw Yao "ah~ I heard from Lelei, your Yao, right?".
Yao just simply answered with a simple "yeah".
Tuka continued to smile and nodded "I'll take you to the dorms, just a minute".
Tuka immediately began to gathered the paperwork she will need to fill, out and clean out what she was working on, meanwhile Yao just stared at her as she continued to think on what to do "money? seduction? or both? or...".
As she though on what to do, she began to remember what Lelei and a few other people had said to her, at the time she didn't pay it to much mind, but now? now she was starting to think about it *Itami or Rean might do it*.
Yao looked down "Itami?... Rean?".

There you go guys! this chapter full of drama and of things happening all over the place, some hint of things to come have also been shown, those who watched the Anime know what's coming and what they mean.
But overall, it a very mellow chapter setting up the Arc, things will be a bit slow as the story progresses but action will soon come and thing will happen rather quickly, also one of the changes in Canon is happening right now.
Instead of having to deal with one Fire Dragon, two have attacked the Dark Elves, the reason will be revealed later on but it will be interesting lol but that's it for me tonight.
