Rean's and the Twins' adventures in the Fire Emblem Awakening continue! today they'll be meeting a ton of of new people! members of the Shepherds, so that means we all be getting to know a bit about important characters in the story, enjoy!.

Tribernator: No, one is goofing things up, but rather, Rean is starting to see that real life and game is way different than we thought, the game has a lot of limitations but real life doesn't and it's beginning to show.

Chapter 42.
Ylisstol, a very active medieval city and home to the the Royal Family, Chrom and Lissa are leading us to their camp to gaher and meet the rest if the Shepherds, along the way, Robin was looking around in awe as we passed by all kinds of people and buildings "so this is Ylisstol, capital of Ylisse... I've never seen so many people".
Frederick had been looking at everyone and everything in the city and eventually he sighed in relief, when he noticed that there was no damage caused by what had happened last night "it appears the Capital was spared the chaos we encountered, thank the gods.
I see no evidence of the great quake, it must've been limited to the forest nor do I see signs of an attack by those strange creatures".
I nodded and looked around myself, everyone in the city was smiling and laughing as they went about their day "everyone seems happy and cheerful, if they had felt the Earthquake or seen the eruption, there would have been a panic, so I think no one saw anything, it was pretty late at night after all".
Lissa cheerfully smiled "well, that's a relief! ".
The young princess of Ylisstol, gave Suicune a headpat as she seemed very happy that the capital wasn't affected by the craziness, that happened last night.
Suddenly, an elderly man yelled out "look! the Exalt has come to see us!".
We all turned towards where the elderly man is pointing and saw a blonde haired woman, walking around the capital surrounded by Knights, this woman is the Exalt and she was waving and smiling at everyone in the capital.
She also happens to be Chrom's and Lissa's elder sister as well, Robin stared at the Exalt and then said "the Exalt is your ruler, yes?".
Frederick nodded "yes, her name is Lady Emmeryn".
Robin tilted his head a bit as he seemed to be pondering something, he then asked a question "is it safe for her to walk among commoners like this?".
Frederick frowned, he obviously didn't like that Emmeryn was walking around the capital like this, but like Chrom and Lissa, she's stubborn as hell, but in the end Frederick sighed and explained "the Exalt is a symbol of peace... Ylisse's most prized quality.
Long ago, at the dawn of our age, the fell Dragon tried to destroy the world, both the first Exalt joined forces with the divine Dragon and laid the beast low.
Exalt Emmeryn reminds us all of the peace we fought for then".
Chrom then piped in "with Plegia poking at our borders, the people need her... she's a calming presence, when some might otherwise call for war".
Robin seemed awed at everything he just heard, I knew about the adventures of Marth, in the first Fire Emblem game, which this game is the future of, so I know how this country was created and the very first Exalt.
Though I didn't particularly agreed with Emmeryn's passive nature when it came to Plegia, sure, I get that she wants peace to last forever, but in reality, that would never happened.
Not with Plegia poking at Ylisstol and then Grima's plans, it seemed a bit too idealistic to continue to hope for peace when the situation is pretty bad as it is, but then again that's just me.
Emmeryn is the Exalt and she has the right to decide what to do with her kingdom, I'll just do what I do best and deal with problems as they come up.
Robin smiled and spoke his opinion about Emmeryn "then the Ylissean people are indeed lucky to have her".
Tiona hummed and she stared at Emmeryn, until she spoke "she's strong, the amount of Mana she's radiating is pretty dense".
Tione nodded "yeah, needs a little bit more muscle though".
I chuckled and shook my head in amusement at the twin's comments about Emmeryn, suddenly Lissa cheered and then said "she's also the best big sister anyone could ask for!".
Robin nodded without even thinking about what Lissa just said "yes, I imagine she... wait what? she's your... but wouldn't that make you and Chrom...".
I grinned at Robin and then said "Prince and Princess of Ylisstol? yes, yes they are".
Robin turned his head towards me in surprise "you knew!?".
I shrugged and then pointed a thumb at Frederick "he kept calling them milady and milord, I figured it was something like that, though Emmeryn looks a lot like an older Lissa, so that pretty much gave it away".
Robin just deadpanned at me, cause what I just told him, sounded legit and he knew it, Frederick then chuckled and said "yes, you remember Chrom's name and not this?".
Robin sweatdropped and defensively said "you said you were 'Shepherds!'...".
Chrom smiled at Robin "and we are... in a manner of speaking, we just have a LOT of sheep".
Robin shook his head "C-Chrom... I mean, prince Chrom! sire! forgive my dreadful manners!"
Tiona giggled at the way Robin was panicking "too late for that Robin~".
Robin awkwardly smiled and tried to ignore Tiona's playful smile, Chrom just chuckled and said "just Chrom is fine, I've never been much for formalities".
Robin sighed in relief and nodded to Chrom "the prince and princess... that explains why Frederick tolerates all the teasing, eh?".
Frederick sighed and shook his head "indeed, oh, the sacrifices I make for the good of the realm...".
We all share a laugh at Frederick's sacrifices, much to his annoyance, until Chrom noticed something "it looks like Emm is returning to the Palace, would you like to meet her?".
Chrom didn't even wait for Robin to answer and dragged the poor bastard to meet Emmeryn, the Exalt of Ylisstol, it was funny watching Robin's face fill with dread when he realized that Chrom was really going to introduce him to Emmeryn.
Meanwhile everyone else joined the little parade as we smiled at Robin as he yelled for help, eventually we made it to the castle and arrived at the throne room.
Emmeryn was already waiting for everyone and was standing in mid way to the throne, she looked in confusion as Chrom dragged Robin towards her, but then she moved her gaze towards Suicune 'who was walking besides Lissa' and awed at her.
She did that until we stopped in front of her, by then she had moved her attention to her brother and sister, she smiled and then happily greeted them "Chrom! Lissa! welcome home, oh and good day, Frederick, how fare you all?".
Chrom smiled and quickly began to report to his sister "well, we shouldn't have any bandit problems for a while".
Email smiled and gave a small nod to Chrom "wonderful, and our people?".
Chrom quickly explained "safe as they can be, Emm, but we still need to watch our borders, the Brigands crossed over from Plegia... this time they were at last thirty strong".
A female Knight suddenly stepped forward and bowed ti Chrom "forgive me, milord, my Pegasus Knights should have intercepted them".
Chrom shook his head at the female Knight "no, Phila, your duty was here, with the Exalt".
Lissa then fist pumped and cheerfully spoke "and besides, we had plenty of help! Robin is a great Tactician! Tione and Tiona are very pretty and they went like Bam! heads flying everywhere!.
Rean is really strong and fast! you should have seen him Emm! and then Suicune! she summoned water and helped with fires! it's was really both beautiful and amazing to see!".
Emmeryn smiled at her little sister "ah, you speak of your knew companions here".
Chrom nodded and then turned his head towards us "yes, this is Robin, the twins are Tiona and Tione, Rean is the one with purple hair and Suicune is the beautiful blue beast besides Lissa.
They fought bravely for Ylissean lives against the brigands that attacked, I've decided to make them into Shepherds".
Emmeryn gave all of us a soft and kind smile in thanks for having helped her people "it sounds as though Ylisse owes you all a debt of gratitude".
Robin shook his head "not all, milady!".
I smiled and shook my head "we were just in the area and decided to help, nothing more and nothing less".
Tiona and Tione nodded and smiled at Emmeryn, they both agreed with me, after all, we decided to help just because we wanted to, we really didn't plan for anything else.
Suicune walked up to Emmeryn which surprise her a bit, my Water Type Legendary Pokémon then gently headbutted her chest, which made me chuckled and Emmeryn to look confused.
After having my fun, I decided to explain the situation "Suicune wants headpats as a reward".
Emmeryn giggled and then gave Suicune a gentle headpat, which had the Legendary Pokémon humming in happiness, soon Lissa joined in the headpatting, which made Suicune's day.
Everyone just enjoyed the Exalt and Lissa having a good time for a while, until Frederick suddenly spoke up "forgive me, your grace, but I must speak.
Robin claims to have lost his memory, but it is only that, a claim, we cannot rule out the possibility that he is a brigand himself or even a Plegian spy.
Rean, Tione an Tiona... quite frankly terrify me, I don't quite know what to think of them, but they are extremely powerful... I... I will leave what to do to you".
Chrom frowned, he was completly upset with Frederick bringing this up yet again, especially about Robin's amnesia "Frederick!".
Emmeryn however, softly spoke to Chrom "yet you allowed him into the Castle, Chrom, does these four have your trust?".
Chrom didn't even hesitate "yes, they both fought and risked their lives for our people, that's good enough for me".
Robin was surprised at Chrom's words, I smiled, I have always known he was a bro and someone I could trust, they way he defended us, even though we just met, showed me that he really was a good guy.
Emmeryn nodded to Chrom and the said "well then, Robin, Tione, Tiona and Rean... it seems you've earned Chrom's faith and as such mine as well".
Robin seemed surprised, but soon softly smiled "milady...".
I decided, here and then, to do all I can to help this kingdom, Emmeryn, Lissa and Chrom, these guys were really good people, a bit naive but good kind people and that made me want to help them.
Something that, both Tione and Tiona seem to agree with, their smile and determined looks told me as such, Emmeryn then turned her head towards Frederick and gave him and apologetic smile "but thank you, Frederick, for you prudence, as always.
Chrom and Lissa are blessed to have so tireless a guardian, I do hope they remember to mention that from time to time...".
Both Chrom and Lissa began to nervously sweat as Emmeryn stared at them with a smile on her face, Frederick grinned and then said "they occasionally express something akin to gratitude, your grace".
Frederick's face then turned serious as he turned his head towards Phila to ask her a question "Phila, I assume you've heard about the deadly creatures we encountered, yes?".
Phila nodded and seemed rather worried "yes, milord, they've been sighted all across Ylisse".
Everyone frowned, it was one thing to have dealt with the bunch that appeared nearby our camp last night, but the fact that there were more Risen around was a problem.
My guess is, that's a lot of them were transported to this era via the other future kids arrival, Emmeryn frowned and then spoke to Chrom "Chrom, we are about to hold council, I was hoping you could join us".
Chrom nodded to his big sister "of course".
Lissa smiled and then turned around to face us "I think that's our cue everyone! come on, there's a place I want to show you all".
Chrom left with Emmeryn to hold a meeting, more than likely, they were going to speak about what to do with Plegia's attempts to provoke them and the Risen that have been appearing as of late.
Meanwhile Lissa took us to the Shepherd's Camp on the Northroad of Ylisstol, a pretty big building with plenty of open space and supplies.
Once inside we met with two people, a very muscular guy and a young woman talking with each other, Lissa smiled and walked up to them and once she was close, she spread her arms wide open and loudly said "here we are! the Shepherds' Garrison, go on, make yourselves at home".
Robin, Tione, Tiona, Suicune and I stepped inside the Shepherds' Garrison and took a look around, it was simple and a little bit bare, but had this excited energy in the air.
Tione and Tiona seemed to like it, to me, it reminded me of JSDF headquarters in the Special Region or the Adventurers Guild in Orario, Suicune just sat on her hunches and looked around as well, though she didn't seem too interested in the place.
Lissa giggled at Suicune's uninterested gaze and then gave her a hug, suddenly, a femine voiced called out to Lissa "Lissa, my treasure! are you all right? I've been on pins and needles!".
Lissa only had time to turned her body when a blonde young woman wearing pink horse riding clothes, came running to her and hugged her "oh, hey Maribelle!".
Not that Lissa minded the affection she was getting from Maribelle, but Maribelle wasn't amuse by Lissa's nonchalance " 'oh, hey' yourself! ive sprouted fourteen gray hairs fretting over you!".
Lissa however, gave zero shits and giggled "aw, you worry too much, I can handle a battle or two! though the bugs sucked and camping out was uncomfortable...".
Robin, the twins and I shared a laugh, we all found it funny how a bug had sacrificed itself to go into Lissa's mouth and made her jump around in disgust, it was real funny.
Suddenly, the muscular man spoke up "hey, squirt! where's Chrom? I bet he had a rough time out there without ol' Teach and his trusty axe!".
Lissa just smiled at the muscular man and said "oh, so you're 'Teach' now, Vaike, is that it? Hehe! and here I thought people were just born lacking wits, it can be taught?".
Viake grinned and then said "ha! never doubt the Vaike!... wait, was that an insult?".
Tione smiled and hugged Lissa to her chest "nice burn Lissa".
Lissa smiled, while Tiona turned her head towards me and said "Rean, might want to give him a Burn Heal for that one!".
I chuckled and then said "I believe it would only be a waste, there's a limit to how much a Burn Heal can help after all".
The girls a laughed at Vaike's expense, the guy looked like he got hit in the gut, though he did grin soon after, it showed that he can take a joke.
Suddenly, the young woman who was speaking with him when arrived, softly spoke up, to ask Lissa a question "beg pardon, but when might we see the Captain?".
Maribelle, who was staring at Tione and Tiona in confusion 'she seem surprised of how well Lissa seems to get along with them' turned around to face the young woman and said "poor Sumia, she's simply been besides herself with concern...
Her eyes were scanning the horizon all day during training... she might gave earned fewer bruises fighting blindfolded".
Sumia smiled and lightly blushed "worry? well I... he's our captain- of course I'd worry!
Everyone 'including Suicune' turned to stare at Sumia, she's a light browned 'almost grey' haired girl, wearing light armor over pink clothes, though, seeing her up close, we could see quite a few bruises on her.
Lissa smiled at her though "aw, Sumia, that's so sweet of you to worry about Chrom!".
Of sweet Astraea, both Tione and Tiona were grinning at Sumia now, they quickly walked over to her wnd began to ask her about her very obvious crush on Chrom, though she did try to deny it.
Until Tiona promised her to teach her how to bag herself Chrom as her man, sweet and caring Astraea, please protect Chrom! I don't think he's ready for a Sumia trained in the art of love by an Amazon...
As I heard Astraea giggled at my prayer, Vaike suddenly turned to stared at us "so, I know it's kinda late to ask, but who's the strangers?".
Sumia and Maribelle turned to look at Lissa with curiosity evident in their eyes, though they seemed a bit embarrassed about noticing us at the last minute, after we had bee talking and joking around with them for a while now".
Lissa widely smiled and then waved her arms in a grand gesture, towards us "no one's stranger that you Vaike... but allow mr to introduce Rean, Tione, Tiona and Robin!.
They just joined the Shepherds, Chrom made Robin our new Tactician, you should see all the tricks he's got up his sleeve! while Rean, Tione and Tione are super strong! you guys won't believe the stuff they can do!".
Lissa then spun around and hugged Suicune "and this is Suicune! isn't she so majestic and beautiful!? she also very strong as well".
Both Maribelle and Sumia awed at Suicune, both seemed to be struggling to not jump towards her and hugged her too.
Vaike just grinned and then said "oh yeah? can they do this? 'buuuurp!' ".
Holy shit, that was loud, Tione and Tiona just laughed, the were used to worse from the Loki's Familia after all, so the weren't bothered by Vaike's burp from hell, Robin just smile at Vaike and then said "I'm sure I have much to learn on the belching arts'Teach', in any case, it's a pleasure to make your acquaintances".
However, Maribelle, Sumia and Lissa weren't amused by Vaike's burp, in fact they all had grimaces on their faces, especially Maribelle who looked absolutely disgusted "ugh, Vaike! that was abhorrent!.
Must you baseborn oafs pollute even the air with your buffoonery? and you, Robin! don't encourage him! I'd hoped you were cut from finer cloth, hmph! I hope Rean is least better than you both!".
I just shrugged " I mean, I like messing around just as any other guy, but 'time and place guys' especially in front of the ladies and all that".
Maribelle gave me a nod and then walked away from the group completely angry, I don't really blame her, that sort of stuff it's not something you should do when meeting someone, first impressions are important after all.
But whatever, guys area guys, Sumia suddely sighed and shook her head "don't take it to heart, Robin, Maribelle warms to people slowly".
Lissa however, just giggled while still hugging Suicune, who was glaring at Vaike, the Water Type Legendary Pokémon is a lady, and she doesn't not appreciate that sort of behavior in her presence, in fact, I'm surprised she didn't blast Vaike with a Hydro Pump, must be because Lissa was still hugging her and she didn't want to hurt her by accident.
Lissa then smiled at Robin and said "or burns too quickly! hehe! but yeah, just give her time, she really is a nice person once you get to know her".
Sumia, suddenly began to fidget with her hands and said "ummm... Lissa, can I hug Suicune too?".
Lissa smiled at Sumia and then turned her head towards me "you have to ask Rean, Suicune is his summon".
I just smiled at Sumia who seemed very nervous now "you can hug her, I don't think she'll mind, she really does like the attention".
Sumia nodded and then slowly walked uo to Suicune, the Water Type Legendary Pokémon stared at her and waited to get her hug, Sumia looked a bit hesitant.
Maybe because Suicune was staring at her intensely waiting for her hug, but Sumia soon mustered her courage and hugged Suicune besides Lissa.
Suicune smiled and looked very content right now, while Sumia looked in bliss "her fur is so soft... like velvet and she's cool to the touch too~".
Everyone smiled at Sumia as she sighed and enjoyed hugging Suicune, she was so into her moment that she didn't even noticed Chrom step towards us.
Chrom smiled as he saw Lissa and Sumia hugging Suicune "I knew Suicune would be popular with most of the girls in the Shepherds".
Sumia's eyes widened in a panic and she immediately stood straight like a rod "ah! Captain! you've returned I was- I mean, we were so-".
In her panic, Sumia tried to step away from Suicune and walk towards Chrom, only to trip on air and slam her head hard on the ground making everyone wince, Sumia however, stood up and brushed her clothes.
Though she looked very embarrassed as she had a bruise on her forehead now, Chrom looked very worried for her too "Sumia! are you alright?... those boots of yours again?".
Tioner leaned her head towards Lissa and whispered at her "does this happen often?".
Lissa sighed and nodded "yeah... poor Sumia...".
Meanwhile, Sumia shook her head at Chrom "no! I mean, yes! I mean..." and Sumia slumped and let out the biggest and saddest sigh I have ever heard in my life.
Tiona smiled at Sumia and patted her back to try to cheer her up, as Chrom nodded and then turned to look at everyone "alright, listen, everyone, in the morning we'll be marching to Regna Ferox".
Robin crossed his arms and then asked "Regna Ferox?".
Sumia, hoping to redeem herself, smiled and explained "a unified Kingdom to Ylisse's north, inhabited by barbarians, or so it's said".
Chrom nodded at Sumia with a smile, which only served to make the girl blush, he then turn his head towards Robin "warriors are what they are, and we'll need their strength to quell this new menace.
Typically, the Exalt would request such aid in person, but given recent events... well the people might worry should my sister suddenly leave the Capital so the task has been passed to us".
I nodded "I see... the People of Ylisstol might panic if Emmeryn is gone for too long, her presence is the only thing that's keeping everyone calm and in peace, right?".
Chrom nodded "yes, now this mission is strictly voluntary, so if for any-".
Chrom didn't even finish speaking before Lissa waved her arms at him "I volunteer!".
Vaike soon followed "me too! you'll be needin ol' Teach along such delicate mission!".
Suddenly, a voice called out of nowhere, startling Chrom, Lissa, Sumia, Vaike and Robin, they even let out a few curses in surprise... damn, Lissa has a sailor's mouth too "I'll go as well".
Everyone 'except Tione, Tiona, Suicune and I' turned to stared at the person who just scared them, but he just shrugged "what? I've been here the whole time".
And he was too! the only reason, the twins, Suicune and I knew he was there, is because, we can sense life force, despite that the guy is blending into the background, we can sense him.
But everyone else couldn't and that's why everyone got surprised, Sumia then sighed and shook her head to calm her racing heart, the guy did jumpscare her quite a bit "I... I, um...".
Chrom stopped staring at the guy and turned his head towards Sumia when he heard her speak "yes, Sumia?".
Sumia looked unsure for some reason, but soon nodded to herself and then spoke up "it's just that... I'm not too sure I'm quite ready for a proper mission just yet, I'd probably just get in the way...".
Chrom scratched his head, but a few moments later, he nodded to himself and then said "well, you could stay behind the main group, and if a battle is met, just watch and learn?.
Your choice, of course, but some lessons can only be learned on the battlefield".
Sumia looked surprised that Chrom wasn't just going to leave her behind, I think she expected him to tell her to stay back or something "w-well, if you think it's wise, Captain".
Chrom smiled and nodded "just stay by me and you'll be fine".
Wow, he wasn't even trying... Sumia widely smiled and nodded "oh yes! I mean- yes, sir, I'll do that!"
Chrom sweatdropped and then nodded to Sumia, while Tiona leaned into Sumia's ear and whispered "smooth~".
Poor Sumia just covered her face in embarrassment and groaned, much to Chrom's confusion.
Tione wanting to give Sumia a break suddenly spoke "well, I'm always ready for a good fight so I'll go".
Tiona nodded in agreement with her sister "yeah, plus we get to travel around too! so it's a win, win!".
Chrom smiled and nodded at the twins, he soon turned his head towards me and I gave him a nod "sure, I'll go too, I'm curious about this Regna Ferox place".
Chrom grinned and nodded "excellent, thank you guys, I feel better knowing that you guys are coming with us".
After Chrom's announcement, the twins and I got too get to know our new friends, Sumia is a kind and homely girl, the sort you can become good friends with, plus she'll take care of you as well.
She's also good with animals, as proven with how Suicune was now following her everywhere, much to Lissa's disappointment, she was left pouting for quite a while.
Though Sumia also has a lot of confidence issues and is quite the klutz, more than once did she tripped and crashed on the ground or on a wall, only to be picked up by Suicune, even worse, the poor girl gets even more accident prone whenever Chrom is around.

Vaike, is a typical Jock, he's a good a guy and loyal friend, though he tends to come off as cocky and arrogant, plus he's a muscle head as well.

Maribelle is a prim and proper girl, like Ravel is and something we knew how to handle properly, so the twins and I introduced ourselves politely and Maribelle actually smiled at us.

Other than that, he's a very open guy, who likes to help and make jokes, he's a real bro, one who would listen and offer good advice or genuine help, better than Sirzechs for sure.
Lissa is a cheerful and friendly girl, she really doesn't act like a Princess either, she seems to prefer to joke around and play with her friends, than rather act prim and proper.
Much to Maribelle's chagrin, Lissa's is the kind of girls who is popular and has a lot of friends, but only a few will ever have her true trust, she seemes to really like us and spent a good amount of time asking us all sorts of questions about our world and the people we know.

Though for some odd reason, I felt like I forgot someone or something, but I pushed that feeling aside for now.
To my surprise, Emmeryn was awaiting for us when we arrived in the room Frederick was leading us too, Chrom's surprised face told me he was unaware of this little meeting, Emmeryn however just smiled and signaled everyone to take a sit.
So we did, I was a bit confused, since this is something that didn't happen in the game, Emmeryn doesn't show up again until sometime later.
So I was very curious about what this was about, as soon as we took a seat, Emmeryn quickly began to explain the situation "forgive me for calling you out of nowhere like this, Chrom, Robin and Rean.
Frederick informed me about what Rean revealed to him, Chrom and Lissa, I hope you don't mind, but I wanted to ask you some questions"
Oh, so that was it, I did claim some very hard to believe things after all, and revealed quite a few unbelievable things as well, so I shouldn't be surprised that Emmeryn would be curious.
Chrom didn't seem happy with Frederick right now though "Frederick... Rean told us about himself, Tione and Tiona in confidence, you would trample on that trust so easily?".

Wow! a lot happened huh! Rean and the twins got to meet the Exalt, Emmeryn! which happens to be Chrom's and Lissa's elder sister! then they met some other members of the Shepherds!.
Sumia, Vaike, Maribelle and Kellam, who was forgotten about right after as well lol, all new character introduced are fun people, sure some are over used anime tropes, but meh, we should already be used to that sort of thing.
Other than that, it seems like Emmeryn was informed of everything Rean and the twins told aboit themselves and their world, which made Emmeryn curious.
That resulted in an unexpected meeting between Rean, Robin, Chrom and Emmeryn, something that didn't happened in the game, changes are already happening!.
