AN: So people are asking if Helena has her magic, she does but without her wand, she can't use it. She'll learn how to use it when meeting people who came from her original World, like certain people in Kanto and the 'Wizard' in Galar with certain gimmicks. For Helena returning back to her own World she won't be alone, and killing Voldemort, someone more "kind" will do it.

Ch 16 Journey to Summer

It's been a month since Helena left her original World and to the Pokemon World. Though she misses her friends, Godfather, and Uncle, she was lucky enough to find friends she can count on to help her in this World.

Helena was enjoying her new life and school. When attending Trainer School, she was so many things she was missing out on when she was attending Hogwarts. Such as studying so many things besides Magic and Quidditch (Though it was getting boring in her view).

She was happy, truly happy with her life.

"Alright, now you…" Helena was sitting with Adam Ceder, instructing her how to play the Celestica Flute. Though not perfect, the sounds coming out of the instrument were average for beginners.

Helena frowns, looking down at the Flute in her hands, not able to make music. "No matter how hard try, it doesn't sound like yours, Professor." She sighs,

"Kirlia," Kirlia looks up at her Partner, comforting her from her slump. She can tell that Helena was trying her best and putting in an effort.

"Don't be so down, Helena." Adam placed down his flute, smiling at the progress she made. "You've made such progress in the months since you started." He said with confidence at his student's work.

Kirlia nodded, jumping up and down giving confidence to her Partner. "Kir, Kirlia, Kirlia!" She exclaims, pumping her up.

The blue and blonde-haired researcher chuckled, seeing the Duel-type cheering her trainer up. "Even Kirlia thinks that you did pretty well," Adam smiles.

Helena smiles, gently petting her head. "Thank you, Kirlia. You always know how to cheer me up."

"Kirlia!" Kirlia cheered, more trusting with the people around her.

Adam walks over to his desk and sits on his chair. "I have to say, for a rookie trainer you've learned pretty fast in our classes." The Professor smiles looking at his student.

Helena picks up Kirlia, placing her on her lap. "Well, I am new here and want to know all about Pokemon." She stated, finding them to be interesting and worth studying. Especially ancient Pokemon forms,

"You're like me when I was younger, wanting to know what there is about Pokemon." Adam chuckled at Helena's devotion to learning, something he is still willing to do. "Say, Helena are you going with Steven and the others to Lavaridge Town to earn his Fifth Badge?" He asked,

"That's right, Flannery told me it'll be summer soon, and her hometown will have a Summer Festival to celebrate the changing season." The former Witch smiles, feeling excited about that event.

The Professor smiles, leaning back in his chair. "The famous Lavaridge Town Summer Festival. I've only heard of it through trainers that came from that town, but many of them say it's fun." Adam explains what she would expect during the event.

"It's similar to our Bond Week event but that Town goes all out." Adam continues with his explanation to Helena.

Kirlia smiles at the sound of the festival being like the Bond Week event. "Kirlia, Kir, la!" The Emotions Pokemon cried happily.

Helena and Adam laugh at the excitement Kirlia was showing. The black-haired trainer got up from her seat, placed her Celestica Flute in her bag, and picked up Kirlia in her arms. "I better go and pack my things, thank you for today's lessons, Professor Ceder. I'll keep on practicing my Flute when I get the chance."

Adam waved his hand, confident that she will. "I know you will Helena, you're a good student." The Professor smiles, enjoying his time teaching her. "But to remember to have fun there,"

"I will," Helena waved her hands before walking out of the room.

Helena walks down the halls of the Trainer School; she waves at a couple of classmates while passing through. Eventually, she saw a blonde boy standing in the halls beside his Lombre. "Helena, hey!" Jackie greeted his friend.

The former Witch smiles at the greeting. "Jackie, what are you doing standing around in the halls?" Helena asked her blonde friend.

Jackie chuckled, "You see, I was stuck with hall monitor duty." He stated, looking down at his Partner who was sleeping in place. "I'm sure Lombre here is asleep, but what can you do." He sighs, hearing Lombre snore.

"You guys trained so hard yesterday, it's no wonder Lombre is tired." Helena crouched down to the sleeping Lombre.

The Jolly Pokemon open his tired eyes and smiles at the black-haired girl. "Lom…bre…" He moans, greeting her Partner's friend.

Kirlia smiles, raising her arm as a greeting. "Kirlia!"

"Good morning, Lombre." Helena greeted the Duel-type Pokemon.

"Say, Helena," Helena got up, looking at her friend who has his hand behind his head. "I want to ask you something." Jackie looked at Helena and blinks at him innocently.

"Yes, Jackie?"

Jackie opens his mouth, unable to say what he wants to say to her. He just smiles, forgetting his sentence to her. "N-Never mind," He cleared his throat, "A-Anyways, I heard that you'll be leaving for Lavaridge Town soon." The blonde boy changed the subject quickly.

Helena nodded, "Yes, Flannery's Grandfather was kind enough to invite us to stay at his place for the Festival." She smiles, informing her friend.

"I-I see," Jackie smiles at the former Witch. 'Damit, why can't I say what I want to her.' He mentally cursed his shyness.

Helena just smiles in front of him, all Jackie could do is smile back. "I-I hope you guys have fun there." The blonde boy chuckled, "Tell me all about it when you get back, alright?"

The black-haired trainer nodded, turning to the exit near her. "I will, see you later Jackie." She waved at him before leaving the halls.

Jackie sighs, yet another fail in asking her out. "Dang, another failed attempt." He sighs, seeing the black-haired girl walking down the path outside the window.

"Lombre," Lombre reached for his Partner's hand and petted it.

"Thank you Lombre," Jackie chuckled at the Duel-type Partner he trust. "Don't worry my friend, I won't give up on her yet. Even if I'm stuck in the friend zone." He sighs,

Helena walks on the pathway to the school's dorms, smiling at the sun shining above her and Kirlia. "I wonder what Lavaridge Town is like," She said to herself.

"Kirlia?" Kirlia looks up at her Partner, curious as well about what the hometown Flannery is like.

"You're curious too, Kirlia?" Helena smiles, coming closer to the dorms. "From what Flannery told me, the buildings are like those in Japan and that her family owns a Hot Spring service." She informed the Duel-type in her arms.

Kirlia blinks, not sure what Japan is. "Kir?"

Helena giggled, forgetting this is a different World than her original. "Sorry, I'm just spouting things, Kirlia." She smiles, opening the door to her dorm.

Upon arriving at her room, she quickly notices two bags with the girls' signature color. One red bag and one brown bag, "I guess the girls are done packing," Helena sighs, still undecided about what to bring. "Should I wear something summer or something light…"

Kirlia was about to answer her when someone familiar exited their room. "I called Grandpa, he said you all can stay in our house next to the Gym," Flannery spoke to Roxanne walking out of the room.

"Isn't your house like the Gym too? I mean your family practically uses it as both a home and Gym." Roxanne commented on the living arrangements that her red-haired friend's family is living.

"Yeah, but the Gym has plenty of rooms that we don't know what to do with them." Flannery grins sheepishly at her brunette friend. She looks to the side, seeing Helena and Kirlia just arriving at their hall. "Helena, are you done with your flute lessons with Professor Ceder?" She greeted her friend.

Helena nodded, "I just finish, does the bags outside our room mean you girls are packed already?" The former Witch asked her two friends.

"That's right, but you haven't right Helena?" Roxanne asked, jumping at the gloomy expression Helena was making. "EH!? WHAT'S THAT LOOK!?" She panicked.

"I-I haven't figured out what to wear at the Summer Festival…" Helena admits to her friends.

"Kirlia, Kirl, Kir!" Kirlia panics seeing her Partner in a state.

Flannery chuckled at her friend's facial expression. She placed her hand on her side, "Just bring your regular clothes, my Grandpa will give you some clothes when we get there." The heir of the Lavaridge Gym explains to Helena.

Helena looks at Flannery, unsure what she means. "Wait, what do you mean by clothes?" She lowers her shoulders at the thought of wearing another set of clothes like the Maid Outfit a few months back.

"It's nothing like what we did during Bond Week a few months back," Flannery explains, knowing what Helena was thinking.

Roxanne nodded, pointing her finger up. "Yes, unlike what we did at the Maid Café we get to dress up in traditional Hoenn Kimonos." She informed the black-haired trainer of what they will expect.

"Kimonos," Helena smiles, a bit excited to try something new. "I can say that I'm excited about that. It's something I haven't tried yet," She stated to her friends.

"Kirlia!" Kirlia agrees with her Partner and wants to try it too.

Flannery smiles, "That's great to hear Helena, if you want, I can help you pack." The Fire-type trainer offered to help her friend.

Helena obliges her friend's offer, needing the assistance badly. "Yes please," She smiles as Flannery leads her back inside the room.

Steven, Brawly, and Wallace were waiting outside of the Trainer School for the girls to come out. The three were pretty excited, wanting to go again to Lavaridge Town Summer Festival. It's been a while since they went as children, though on separate occasions.

"Steven, got plans when we get to Lavaridge Town?" Wallace asked his rival, sitting next to him. "It'll be a day trip until we reach Lavaridge Town, by then the Festival won't start until two days after." The Champion stated, wondering what Steven's plan was.

Steven smiles, leaning forward. "It's what, July, right?" he asked, receiving a nod from his friends. The Steel-blue haired smirks, knowing what's happening during that month. "Then I have to look for something."

Brawly leans back, hands behind his head. "I see, for me, I'll hit the Hot Springs that Flannery's family owns." The young Surfer said with pride. "Both me and my Pokemon need the R & R after the long trip. I mean the Gym will be closed this week for the Festival, so why not take the advantage."

"Taking it slow eh, Brawly?" Steven chuckled, knowing his sky-blue-haired friend well. "You sure do like going with the flow with everything." He smiles.

"Like the water my dude," Brawly chilled out, smiling at his Steel-blue haired friend.

The school doors opened to the rest of the group carrying their bags. "Sorry we're late you guys," Helena apologized to the boys for being late on everyone's behalf.

The girls rush over, huffing as they arrived where the boys are. "W-We were waiting for Helena's lesson to finish." Roxanne huffs.

"And help her pack her stuff for the Festival." Flannery continued, grinning at the boys.

Brawly eyes at the red-haired girl, chuckling at their tardiness. "As always, you always find some way to be late." He grins at her.

Flannery glared at her Surfer friend, hearing his comment. "Shut up, Brawly." She growls at him.

Both Gym heirs glare at each other before bursting into laughter, everyone else smiles at the two's interaction. Steven got up, standing before the group, "Alright, seems everyone's here and ready to go." The Steel-blue haired trainer announced. "Where's Kirlia? She's always in your arms wherever you go." He asked, finally noticing the missing Pokemon.

Helena jumps, "Oh, I decided to let her rest in her Pokeball. She seems pretty tired by waiting for me to finish my lesson." She explains to the young trainer before thinking of something else that's been bugging her.

"Steven, forgive me for asking but how long will it take until we reach Lavaridge Town?" Helena asked, pulling up the map on her Rotom Phone. "I looked at the map and it's rather far."

Steven smiles, pointing out the route they're taking. "You're looking at the exit that leads to Route fifteen. We're not taking that route since it's rather long."

"I see," Helena nodded,

"We'll be walking to Verdanturf Town then Mauville City where there's a subway that goes all the way to Lavaridge Town for people who aren't trainers," Steven explains to the rookie trainer.

Wallace held his hand up, "We don't need to stop by the Gym since everyone got the Dynamo Badge when we're passing by Mauville City to the school." He stated with a smile,

Roxanne leans forward with her hands behind her back. "But it wouldn't be right if we didn't stop by to see Mr. Wattson now," The brunette smiles, remembering the middle-aged man.

"Yeah, I wonder if that rollercoaster he has is still there." Brawly grins, liking how unique his Gym was during the Gym Challenge. "That's totally rad!" He exclaims, expressing excitement when challenging his Gym.

Helena cleared her throat, "Um, rollercoaster?" She gulps, hearing that ride when Dudley went to the amusement park with his friends whenever speaking with his Aunt and Uncle. The only thing similar to it was the minecart in Gringotts which wasn't too bad and yet a bit frightening for her.

Wallace smiles, looking at Helena. "Sorry, Elie, you might not understand what's going on." He apologizes to his black-haired friend. "Wattson is the Mauville City Founder/Mayor and made it a massive indoor city. He's also the Gym Leader of the Gym,"

"He tried to make an extension to Mauville City but failed, and built Sea Mauville but…" Roxanne trails off, tapping her chin unsure what to say about that failed project. "Without proper resources, it was abandoned and was quickly converted to a home to the Pokemon there."

The former Witch was impressed that this Watson person achieved many things with his own merits. Something that Helena wished to do in this new life of hers, so much that she wishes to meet Wattson. "T-That's actually impressive, is possible for me to speak with him?"

Everyone nodded, knowing that the Electric-type Gym Leader is keen to meet new people. "Wattson is always cool to meet new people, especially with Challengers to his Gym," Brawly informed his friend of what the middle-aged man is like.

"If we want to meet with Wattson, we've better start moving. The sun will set in a couple of hours if we're standing here." Roxanne informed the group in turn agreed with her,

"Then let's get going." Steven smiles, pointing to the exit of Rustboro City into Route sixteen.

"Hai!" Everyone responded, heading to the gateway.

The group walks through Route sixteen with ease and through Rusturf Tunnel. Upon entering, the rocks that blocked the other side were cleared, though it was expected since the event took place months ago.

They quickly exited the Tunnel, not wanting to have a repeat of last time just yet though to Steven's dismay. He could swear that he saw a Shiny Stone in the small pile of rubble left over.

Soon they arrived in Verdanturf Town, a simple Town with not so many attractions. However, there was a Contest Hall, despite being all Halls bustling with Coordinator it was rather quiet. They rested in the Pokemon Center in Town; Wallace wanted to check something out in Contest Hall.

Helena opted to come along with him so that he won't get sidetracked.

Both Helena and Wallace stood before the Contest Hall, where only a few trainers enter. The black-haired trainer looks at the Champion, curious why they're here. "Wallace, this place looks barren, there's hardly any trainers that are going inside." She observes the Hall. "Are you sure the Contest Hall's open?" She asked.

"It may look close, Elie. But it's open, the Hoenn Grand Festival hasn't started yet." Wallace informed his black-haired friend. "We're simply here to get information on the dates and location of the first Contest Performance."

"Alright, sounds simple enough. But won't that be considered as cheating knowing the location first then the other competitors, Wally?" Helena asked, bringing up an important argument for his plan.

The teal-haired Champion winks at Helena, "I thought so at first, but trainers who attend the Trainer School will get a special inside since the teachers at the school were once Coordinators." Wallace informed the rookie trainer of the special discount for the students.

Helena crosses her arms, placing her hand on her chin. "Well, that's reasonable." She shook her head, smiling at Wallace. "We should make it quick then, after all the train that leaves for Lavaridge Town in Mauville will leave in a few hours."

"Then, shall we?" Both Helena and Wallace enter the Contest Hall, a few minutes passed by, and they were already out in a snap.

"Well, that's a disappointment." Helena sighs, walking beside her friend.

Wallace nodded, crossing his arms. "Who knew that they're still setting for the Hoenn Grand Festival." The Champion sighs, walking to the Pokemon Center. He smiles still getting what they came there for. "At least we got the confirmation date for the opening Performance."

Helena smiles, "At the middle of fall, which won't be until a few months after." She said.

"Plenty of time to practice my routine with my Pokemon," Wallace said confidently, he looks forward and saw Steven and the others talking outside the Center. "Ah, there they are. They're waiting for us at the Center's entrance."

Helena walks forward smiling at the teal-haired boy. "Let's not keep them waiting, Wallace." The Champion nodded, following her to meet with their friends.

Roxanne turns around, seeing the two already back from the Contest Hall. "That was quick, did you get what you've come for Wallace?" The brunette asked the teal-haired boy.

The Champion nodded, "Yep, though the opening Performance won't happen until a few months. I still have time to perfect my routine before the start of the Contest." He informed his friends of his plans.

"That's good to hear, Wallace my dude!" Brawly smiles at him, still devoted to his goals.

"So, shall we head over to Mauville City? Surprisingly it's a ten-minute walk from here." Steven asked everyone if they were finished with their business in Verdanturf Town.

Everyone nodded, walking over to the exit of the small Town and onto Route seventeen. They enter the gateway where the group was met by a bustling indoor City.

Helena's mouth gaped open, seeing the outlet like City. Like Rustboro City, people and Pokemon living as one, "Wow, it's like a huge building with a bunch of buildings in one!" She smiles brightly, "I can't believe a single person was able to plan and built this City!"

Steven chuckled, placing both his hands in his pocket. "Well, people can be amazing when they put their minds to it." The young trainer stated.

Helena agreed with his statement, looking up to see more floors with even more people walking by. "So amazing,"

Flannery steps in front of the group, smiling at everyone while holding her red Rotom Phone. "Alright everyone, we have at least an hour and thirty minutes before the train leaves for Lavaridge Town," She informed the group.

"Plenty of time to visit Wattson," Roxanne piqued, "I wonder though if we're going to have that challenge again." She ponders, remembering the last time they were here.

"There's his Gym," Helena points at the holo-directory on the wall near the entrance of the City. "It's close to the subway station," She saw the sign of a railway track next to the Pokemon Gym logo near the right side of the City.

Brawly steps forward, noticing the new map. "A holo-directory, sweet. This is probably one of Wattson's newest inventions." The sky-blue-haired boy chuckled, finding his whole motif to be wicked. "Let's head there, I'm sure Wattson will be surprised to see us."

They all head over to the Gym, wanting to meet the Gym Leader of this City. Upon arrival at the Gym, the aesthetic of the building was brightly yellow with thunderbolts striking at the entrance. At the top was the Pokemon League Logo just above the doors.

"This is the Gym?" Helena asked, expecting something like the one at Rustboro City. A building that looked like it was made out of large rocks signifying the Type they use. "I kinda expect something larger," She admits.

"Oh, it's something alright, Helena." Flannery chuckled, preparing herself for the fun part. She winks at her, raising her hand. "I suggest holding onto something."

From the top of the Pokemon League Logo, a camera zoomed in on the group of trainers. Within the observation room, a plump man with blonde hair that's started to turn grey, and a beard saw the group.

"My, looks like today we have some visitors." The middle-aged man stated, smiling at their familiar faces. He leans forward to the control console, prepared to greet the trainers at his gym.

"Electrike," The Lightning Pokemon sighs at his trainer's antics whenever someone is at the Gym's front door.

The man chuckled, hearing his Partner's sigh from behind him. "Ohoho, now, Electrike now you know how much I love to make a grand welcome to Challengers." The man stated with a smile, pressing the button.

Back outside, Helena was confused about what Flannery said. "Flannery, what do you mean hold-" Suddenly the floor beneath them started to move,

Helena yelped, feeling the floor or rather platform began to move forward into the entrance. She chuckled, seeing the entire entrance of the Gym open like a double door.

Steven saw the black-haired girl being shocked by the moving platform. He smiles, having a feeling that she's not used to something moving. "Helena," He called her name.

"Mmm?" Helena looks up at the Steel-haired boy, hearing her name. "Y-Yes Steven?" She saw Steven's face, a bit red in the cheeks.

"If you're scared about riding the rollercoaster you can hold onto me," Steven blushed, placing his hand over his neck.

Helena blinks then smiles softly at how kind Steven was, "I-"

-ZZZ- Attention, trainers or visitors, please enjoy the ride.-ZZZ- A voice came on the loudspeaker within the Gym.

Everyone sighs at the Electric-type Gym Leader's greeting to all Challengers who challenge the Gym. "Here we go," Brawly smirks, ready for what comes next.

"Eh?"

The platform they're standing on suddenly began tilting forward, rails suddenly appear on the sides. "Eh?" Helena was startled upon seeing the ledge of the tracks, "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHH!"

The platform suddenly descends at top speed, everyone was screaming with joy but not Helena. She grabs hold of Steven's arm, clutching in fear of possibly falling off the platform. "T-THIS IS MADNESS! COMPLETE BONKERS!" She screams, not liking this ride one bit.

Steven laughs, excited to expense this ride again. He then felt his arm being grasped by Helena's arms. He looks down at her, he could tell that she wasn't too keen on this. The platform continued its path, accelerating with each moment.

Soon the ride came to an end and the platform began to slow down, taking a slow pace. "HAHAHAHAHAHA!" Flannery and Brawly laugh, missing this ride.

"That was gnarly! It's like suffering on heavy waves!" The young Surfer stated, feeling the excitement coursing through his body

"You got that right, Brawly!" Flannery laughs, placing her hands on her sides.

Wallace laughs, leaning on the rails. "What fun, it's like the last time we were here!" The Champion grins,

Roxanne nodded, "Yes, seems like Wattson saw us through the cameras." The brunette smiles, looking at the teal-haired boy, enjoying the ride made by the Gym Leader.

Steven saw that everyone was enjoying that thrill ride. Everyone but Helena was still clutching onto his arm. "Helena, are you doing alright?" He asked softly, not wanting to be rude or anything of the sort.

"Y-Yeah, I-I am Steven," Helena said, unable to let go of Steven's arm. She tried to let go but the platform still moving prevented that. "I-I'm sorry, b-but I can't let go. I-I'm still-"

Steven gently places Helena on the floor, holding her gently so she won't slip. "It's fine, I'm sure you've rode rollercoasters while sitting before but nothing like this." He comforts her. "Know that I'm going to hold you until it's over, okay?" He asked

Helena nodded, both on allowing him to hold her and that she rode on something similar. "I-I did ride something similar to a rollercoaster, but we were seated," She said, looking down at the metal platform. "You probably think I'm a scaredy cat because of that." The former Witch sighs.

"Everyone's built differently, each person has something that they're afraid of." The Steel-blue haired boy stated, not shaming her for feeling scared. "I even have something I'm afraid of…" He said, wanting to make her comfortable.

"Huh?"

Soon the platform stopped, and the wall before them opened revealing an underground Battlefield.

"Well, well," Helena looks up, hearing a gruff, joyful voice before them. She saw a middle-aged man with greyish blonde hair and a full beard. He wore a yellow jumpsuit, brown boots, and a brown sweater with a bolt of lightning on his right shoulder.

"It's been a while, my friends! How's school been treating you!" The man greeted the group of special trainers, "And I see you added someone to your group. Welcome, I'm Wattson the Gym Leader of the Mauville City Gym." He smiles.

AN: This will part of the story is where Steven will be furthering his relationship with Helena, and Helena discovering things about herself.
