Ch 38 The Elite Four Pt 2

(Insert (Insert Battle! Hoenn Elite Four: Sidney - Pokémon Masters EX)

"Metagross…" Steven held his Mega Stock towards his Partner, causing a rainbow light to shine.

Metagross's Mega Stone started to glow in response to his trainer's Key Stone. Metagross was engulfed by a rainbow light, causing his form to change like before.

Once his transformation was complete, the light disbursed with the Mega Evolution symbol appearing before him for a quick moment.

Sidney smirks, never seeing a Shiny Pokemon Mega Evolve before. "Nice, very nice." He held his guitar on his side. "This Battle is going to be epic!" He said,

"That we can agree," Steven responded to the Dark-type trainer's statement.

"Alright!" The maroon-haired man held out his hand towards his Mega Evolved Pokemon, going for the first attack. "Mega Absol, Double Team on the double!" He cried,

"Absol!" The Dark-type Pokemon dashed forward, splitting into many copies of himself throughout the Battlefield,

Sidney knows how speedy Steven's Metagross was. Using Double Team would probably make the Iron Leg Pokemon confused, creating a perfect opportunity to attack.

'What is he doing?' Sidney finally noticed that Steven and Metagross weren't even phased by the multiple targets. "(Well, he's calm despite the situation of many targets…)"

Sidney smirks at how calm the young trainer was, "Absol, Brutal Swing!"

"Absol!" The Absol copies and the original nodded to Sidney's order.

They all leap in the air, and their horns took on the same dark aura as before. "Absol!" The original Absol sent a wave of dark aura towards the Duel-type.

Steven smirks, "Metagross," He called his Partner's name. "Use Psychic on the boulders around you as shields!" The Steel-blue haired trainer

"Meta!" The Iron Leg Pokemon's blue X began to glow. The large rocks around him floated in response to Metagross's Psychic. Most of the rocks got rid of

They hurled toward the incoming Brutal Swings, preventing them from hitting him.

"Absol! Quick, use the rocks to jump and dodge the rest!" Sidney ordered his Partner to use the rocks as stepping stools.

The Disaster Pokemon followed what his trainer said, jumping on each rock and dodging them.

Sidney held out his hand, "Now, Brutal Swing again!" He cried out, planning to end this Battle here.

Absol huffs, leaping from rock to rock. His horn took on a dark hue and released the Dark-type Move once more. "Absol!"

"Metagross!" Steven saw that Sidney's Absol was still in the air, a perfect opportunity to land a critical blow.

Mega Metagross turns to his trainer, quickly dodging the Brutal Swing. "Meta!" He appeared right behind him.

"Give him a Flash Cannon, Metagross!" Steven cried out to his Partner.

A silver orb appeared at the center of his arms, it built up into a massive ball of energy. "Me…ta!" Metagross released his powerful move, blasting Absol to the Battlefield.

Sidney steps forward, seeing his Partner bombarded with the powerful Steel-type Move. "Absol!" He cried out to his Partner,

Blanche turns to where Absol fell, her eyes peering through the dust cloud. A bright light shined within before the cloud dissipated. On the Battlefield, Absol reverted back to his original form.

Metagross reverts as well, indicating that both he and Steven was the victor of the first round of the Champion League. (End Song)

The white-haired woman raised her hand to Steven's side of the Battlefield. "Absol is unable to Battle, the victor is Metagross and the Challenger Steven Stone!" Blanche announced to the audience.

Everyone in the crowd cheered for Steven overcoming the first Elite Four Member. Steven smiles and waves to the crowd with humility,

He looks at his Partner, seeing he shares the same excitement as everyone around them. "You did great, Metagross!" Steven called out to his Partner, proud of his hard work.

"Meta," Metagross nodded, pleased that he managed to claim victory.

"This concludes the first Round of the Champion League!" Blanche announced to the crowd. The Chairwoman of the Pokemon League held her hand towards Steven and his Metagross. "Steven Stone will be continuing his Champion League path, facing the newest member of the Elite Four."

Sidney chuckles, jumping onto the Battlefield. He made his way over to his Partner, kneeling beside him and petting the back of his head.

"A-Absol…" The Disaster Pokemon apologizes to his Partner for failing him.

The maroon-haired man chuckles, not caring if his Partner were to win or not. "Hey bud, did you have fun?" Sidney asked his Partner.

The Dark-type Pokemon nodded, actually finding the Battle to be enjoyable and exciting.

"Then that is all that matters, Absol." Sidney smiles, standing up with the Disaster Pokemon. Both trainer and Pokemon made their way over to Metagross.

Steven did the same, standing next to his long-time friend.

"Well Kid, you have beaten your first Elite Four Battle." The Dark-type trainer commented, impressed by his prowess. "You had me on my toes the whole time with your unique Battling style."

Absol nodded, agreeing with his trainer on that notion. "Absol!"

Steven chuckles slightly, smiling at the young man. "Thanks, Sidney. I have to admit that you didn't pull any punches and provided a challenge." He commented, placing his hand on Metagross's head.

The Dark-type trainer smirks at the potential Champion, "Thanks for that compliment, Kid." Sidney placed both his hands on his side and took a good look at him. "You might have the potential to beat the current Champion if you continue this path."

Steven nodded, accepting Sidney's compliment.

"If the Challenger would please head back to the locker room, you can heal your Pokemon before the next match," Blanche informed the Steel-blue haired trainer's option.

"Right, I'll do that." Steven bid Sidney farewell before he and Metagross go inside the locker room.

Back in the audience, Helena stood up with Kirlia still in her arms.

"Ellie, where are you going?" Brawly looks up, noticing that the former Witch is getting up from her seat.

Helena turns to her Sky-blue haired friend, smiling at them. "I'm just going to see Steven before the next match." The black-haired trainer said to her friends.

"Really? Now?" Roxanne asked, confused about why she was heading down to meet Steven. "If you go down now, you might miss the introduction." The brunette warns her,

"Roxy is right, best to stay and wait until the break before Steven challenges the Champion," Flannery added, supporting her friends' reasoning.

Jackie looks at his friends, hearing them trying to convince Helena to stay. "Hey guys, I don't really think we should force Helena into staying." The blonde stated, opposing their idea. "I get that she will miss the introduction of the next Elite Four member. But it's her choice,"

Kirlia nodded, agreeing with the aspiring Pokemon Ranger. "Kirlia."

The three frown, feeling guilty about what they try to do. "S-Sorry, Ellie." Roxanne apologizes to her friend.

"Yeah, sorry girl." The red-haired girl apologizes too to her friend,

Helena appreciates her new friends admitting they were in the wrong. "Thank you, everyone."

Brawly looks at the black-haired girl, "You better get going, Dudette. Steven might be down rest before you could get there." He said,

"I know," Helena looks down at her Partner, "Let's get going, Kirlia."

"Kirlia!" The Emotion Pokemon cheered as they went off to meet with Steven.

Steven sighs, removing his shirt to get a breeze. He still wore the white sleeveless shirt, "Man, that Battle was intense." He rolled his shoulders,

The Steel-blue haired boy walks over to the vending machine and gets a bottle of cold water. "Mmm?" Steven heard the locker room door open. He turns to face who just entered,

"Steven?"

The young trainer smiles, hearing a familiar voice calling out his name. Steven returns to the center of the locker room, seeing the person who called him. "Helena,"

Helena looks around once both she and Kirlia entered the locker room. "Steven? Are you here?" She called out to her friend, hoping that she didn't miss him.

"What do you think, Kirlia? Do you see him?" The former Witch asked her Partner in her arms.

Kirlia's eye shifts from one side of the room to the other. She then saw the boy they were looking for.

"Helena," Steven greeted the black-haired girl,

Helena looks to the side, blushing red at the sight of Steven. She quickly looks down at the tiles, avoiding Steven's body. However, it was hard not to look since he was right in front of her.

Her Emerald green eyes darted upwards, noticing how toned his body and developed muscle. 'H-Has he been working out?' Helena asked herself, unable to take her gaze off him.

"Helena? Ellie?" Helena shook her head, hearing Steven calling her. She looks up, seeing Steven looking at her confusedly.

"Y-Yes?" Helena cleared her throat, answering the boy she first met in this World.

Steven tilts his head with a charming smile. "Ellie, what are you doing here? My match with the second Elite Four will start soon." He explains,

The aspiring Researcher stood tall, smiling at the trainer before him. "I just want to wish you luck in person," Helena said, a small blush appearing on her cheeks.

"Thanks, I appreciate your support, Helena." The Steel-blue haired boy said, happy that Helena went all this way just to wish him luck. "Sidney was a tough opponent, I'm sure the others won't pull any punches."

"I can tell, Sindey's Dark-types are tough." The black-haired girl commented,

"Kirlia," Kirlia remained quiet, allowing the two of them to talk. The Duel-type heard a door open and looked to see who was walking inside the room. "Kirlia?"

Suddenly, a League Staff entered the locker room. He saw Steven talking to a girl, "Ah, Mr. Stone are you done resting? The next round is about to start." The Staff looks at Helena, and smiles at her, "Young Miss, I'm sorry to cut your conversation short but we have to continue the Champion League Matches." He explains.

"Oh, right." Helena heard what the League Staff said, she turns to Steven. "Well, I'll be cheering for you, Steven. Good luck again,"

Steven nodded, accepting her wishes again. "Be safe when going back, Helena."

With that, the young boy watched as Helena leaves the locker room. "Was that someone important to you, Mr. Stone?" The League Staff asked the Challenger.

The Steel-blue haired answered quickly, "Yeah…yeah she is." Steven cleared his throat and headed back to his locker. "Uh, I'll be ready in a few minutes."

"Of course," The League Staff left Steven be, returning to inform the Chairwoman.

Steven held onto his shirt, still having Helena's words in his mind. He puts on his new shirt before looking up. "I'm sure she'll visit me again after this match." He chuckles to himself.

Helena walks into the halls of the Stadium, holding onto Kirlia rather tightly. "K-Kirlia!"

"O-Oh, Kirlia." Helena lessens her grip on her Partner, causing her to look at her. "Sorry, I-I was a bit distracted." She apologizes to the Emotion Pokemon.

"Kirlia?" The Duel-type Pokemon looks up at her trainer. She could feel that Helena was feeling off with her.

Helena smiles, petting her Partner's head. "I guess that you'd noticed." She chuckles, turning to the left. "It's not a big deal, Kirlia. I-It's just…I didn't that he worked out that much."

Kirlia giggled, seeing how gullible her trainer is to her feelings. "Kirlia,"

"A-Ahem, l-let's just head back to our seats with everyone." Helena blushed, rushing back to their seats in the audience.

Once Helena and Kirlia approached the door leading to their side of the stadium, they open it. They entered the audience where everyone was cheering,

(Insert Battle! Hoenn Elite Four: Phoebe - Pokémon Masters EX)

Both Kirlia and Helena were caught off guard by the cheering. "Did we miss something?" The former Witch asked before the two looked at the Battlefield,

Steven's match was already on its way. "How long did we stay in the halls?"

Challenger Steven Stone vs Elite Four Phoebe

Armaldo huffs after taking down Dusknoir, "Dusknoir, no!" A tanned girl around Steven's age shouted. She wore a blue flora sundress and a blue bikini, something that people wore at the beach.

The Ghost-type Pokemon has a spiral on his signal eye, indicating he's unable to continue the Battle.

"Dusknoir, you did great out there." Phoebe held out the Gripper Pokemon's Pokeball, calling him back. "Get some rest, my friend."

"You put up a good challenge," The dark-haired trainer looks up, seeing the Challenger complimenting her. "Both your Pokemon before are very strong, even took two of mine down." Steven continued.

Phoebe placed her hands behind her back, returning Steven's praise. "Same as you, Challenger. This is my first Battle as an Elite Four," The newest Member of the League stated. "I've faced many other trainers before I joined the Elite Four, by far you're the one who is more challenging than the test that the Chairwoman gave." She smiles,

"I'll take that as a compliment, Phoebe." Steven chuckles, ready for her next Pokemon. "Now, shall we continue?" He asked the dark-haired trainer.

Phoebe giggled before spinning around on her heels. Once she stops, she has her last Pokeball in her hand. "Get ready, this is my last and strongest Pokemon left,"

"Banette, it's time to play!" Phoebe spun around, tossing the Pokeball into the air.

The Pokeball spun in the air before releasing a shadowy figure fell to the field. The shadowy figure spun around, removing the hazy aura around him, and revealing a Pokemon.

The Pokemon was shaped like a large doll with yellow zipper-like teeth. "Banette…" The Ghost-type Pokemon swayed back and forth, giving off an eerie feeling.

Around Banette's tail was a bracelet with a pink stone, inside was grey flame with a hint of yellow.

"This is my partner, Banette. He and I go way back since when we were little!" Phoebe cheerfully said. She tilts her head innocently, ready to continue their match. "Let me ask you, Steven, are you ready to face my strongest Pokemon?" The Ghost-type trainer asked the Challenger.

Steven chuckles, waving his hand at her. "There's only one way to find out," He held his hand out, ordering Armaldo to take the first strike. "Armaldo, X-Scissor!" He shouted.

"Armaldo!" The Plate Pokemon's claws turn a light green hue and dash forward at the Marionette Pokemon.

"Phantom Force, Banette!" Phoebe held her hand towards her Partner.

Banette giggled, his body became translucent and morphs into the shadows.

Armaldo slides onto the Battlefield, looking around for Phoebe's Partner. "Arm…maldo?"

The Plate Pokemon's shadow began to morph, and Banette came out of The Duel-type's shadow. "Banette!" Banette twisted his body, his arms had a ghostly hue to them.

Banette's arms slapped Armaldo's back, causing him to stumble.

"Armaldo!" The Bug/Rock-type cried, taking damage.

"Armaldo, use Stone Edge!" Steven quickly responded to Banette's attack.

The Duel-type cried out to the skies, and rocks appeared around Armaldo. The rocks began to circle around him, picking up speed. "Armaldo!" He thrust his body and sent the rocks at Banette.

Phoebe giggled, spinning around once more. "Banette, use Psychic to catch the rocks." She chirped,

"Banette…." The Marionette Pokemon's eyes glowed a blue hue,

The Stone Edge rushed towards Banette, only to freeze mid-air. "Bane…" Banette motions his arms and sent the rocks back at Armaldo. "Ette!"

The rocks hurl back at Armaldo, promoting Steven to retaliate. "Armaldo, use Iron Tail to deflect the rocks!" He exclaims to his Partner.

"Armaldo!" The Plate Pokemon's tail took on a metallic coat. He swung his tail, smashing through the rocks.

Phoebe smiles, "Now use Foul Play." She calmly said,

"Banette," The Ghost-type Pokemon dashed forward, practically vanishing from where he stood. "Ban…" Banette's arm took a dark aura before punching Armaldo in the abdomen.

The Fossil Pokemon gasped for air before falling to the ground. "Armaldo!" Steven cried out, gritting his teeth.

Back in the audience, Helena was in awe of how fast Phoebe's Banette was. If she were to compare the speed to something else, Metagross was the most likely the closest thing to him. "That Banette is sure fast, frighteningly fast."

"K-Kirlia…" Kirlia commented, watching the Battle with her trainer.

Helena shook her head, taking the thought out of her mind. "Let's head back to our seats." She quickly went down the stair, heading to their row.

Flannery held her head up, seeing Helena and Kirlia returning from meeting with Steven. "Helena? What took you so long?" The red-haired girl asked her friend. "Both Steven and Phoebe are at their last Pokemon."

"S-Sorry, I-I kinda lost track of time." The former Witch explains to her friend, "I saw what happened between Armaldo and Banette." Helena said,

"Kirlia…" The Emotion Pokemon confirms what her trainer said was true.

Brawly nodded, "Banette is sure one scary Pokemon," The Sky-blue haired boy stated, "Steven will have a hard time with his next Pokemon."

Jackie looks at the Fighting-type trainer as he made room for Helena and Kirlia to pass. "Is it because Metagross is part Psychic-type?" The blonde asked the group,

"Most likely, Psychic-types are weak against Ghost-type Pokemon," Helena answered, sitting back down between Jackie and Roxanne.

"Steven most likely has a plan for that," Roxanne commented, watching the Battlefield.

On the Battlefield, Steven held onto his last Pokeball to the side and toss it onto the field. "Metagross! It's up to you,"

The Pokeball released Steven's Partner onto the field. Metagross slams onto the Battlefield, "Meta!" The Iron Leg Pokemon cried, ready to Battle again.

Phoebe sways on her heels, seeing that the Challenger has sent out his last Pokemon. "My, this is the first time I've seen a Shiny Metagross." She stated, commenting on the white coating around him. "Such luster, but can you beat my Banette?"

"Let's see, Metagross; Meteor Mash!" Steven smirks, taking the first move.

"Meta!" Metagross dashed forward, his arm pulls back, and went straight for the Marionette Pokemon.

Banette chuckles vanishing before Metagross could land a hit. The Meteor Mash plummets his leg into the ground. "Meta? Meta?" The Duel-type looks around, searching for Banette.

"Tch," Steven clicked his tongue, he had a feeling that Banette was on par with Metagross.

Banette appeared behind the Duel-type, floating in the air. "Banette, Sucker Punch!" Phoebe cried,

Once more, Banette's arms took a dark aura and slam them onto Metagross.

Metagross flinched, taking on the effective Move. However, he held on, determined to win for his Partner and trainer. "Metagross!" The Duel-type looks at Steven, hearing his voice,

"Are you okay?" Steven asked his Partner,

"Meta!" Metagross nodded, smirking at the Steel-blue haired trainer.

Steven held his hand out, "If so, use Psychic on the rocks around you as projectiles!" He ordered.

Metagross's X glowed a bluish hue as the rocks around him launched for the Ghost-type Pokemon.

"Banette, dodge it please!" The dark-haired trainer called out,

Banette giggled as he floated in the air, he maneuvers through the flying rocks like a piece of paper in the wind. "Banette," He giggled managing to get through the rocks,

Phoebe cheered, pumping her hand in the air, "Great job! Now use Night Shade!"

"Banette," The Marionette Pokemon's eyes glowed a dark hue, and a jagged purple ray came out of his eyes.

The Night Shade dashed towards Metagross with great speed.

Steven acted upon the attack, "Metagross, dodge it!" In a flash, the Iron Leg Pokemon disappeared from his area. The Night Shade hits the ground, missing its target.

"My…"

Metagross appeared in front of Steven, ready for the next orders.

Both Steven and Metagross gaze upwards, seeing Phoebe swaying her body. She smiles at the two of them, "To think Metagross would hold on after taking that Sucker Punch head-on." The dark-haired girl commented, "You must have a strong bond if Metagross acted fast like that,"

"Metagross is that strong, he and I trained together for a long time." The young trainer stated,

Phoebe claps her hands together, hearing how they develop a strong bond. "How wonderful! Training with your Pokemon sounds like a perfect way to make your bond stronger!" She cheered, looking at Banette floating before her.

"That goes the same with me," Phoebe commented, smiling at her Partner. "Banette and I grew up together when he was just a Shuppet, we played together, eat together, and trained together." She shared.

Phoebe held her heart with her left hand, smiling at the fond memories of their younger days. "Your Battling has reminded me how much we've worked hard to get to this point in our journey." She stated, looking up at the Challenger.

"I thank you, Steven." She giggled and raised her hand with a bead bracelet. "For that, I shall reward you for the show of your bond with your Pokemon." She moved her wrist, revealing a Key Ston at the center of her bracelet.

Steven grins, seeing the Key Stone, "Of course, she would have a Key Stone."

"Banette…" She gracefully lowers her arm before her and raises her other arm. "Mega Evolve!" She slams her other hand on her Key Stone, causing a light to shine.

The Banettite reacted to Phoebe's Key Stone. "Banette…" Banettte's body was engulfed in a bright rainbow light, changing his form.
