Ch 47 A Familiar Face?
12 Grimmauld Place
Many books were on the table, and the shelves were emptied by the moment. Through the many books the New Trio has gone through, none has found anything remotely related to the two Giants or the ruins that said Giants they were protecting.
Hermione closes another book, finding nothing in the one she read. "Nothing anything relating to the ruins in the Forbidden Forest." She sighs, turning to the others if they found something. "Anything on your end guys?" She asked.
"Nope," Ginny placed the book she was holding on the pile next to her. She rested her chin on her hands, seemingly giving up by this point. "All I found is some Family History about the Blacks."
Cedric sighs, adding another book to the pile of useless information. "For some reason, I only found books about Magical Creatures on my end." He explains, unintentionally giving the two Gryffindors some false hope.
"Really? Did you find anything that-" Hermione paused, seeing Cedric shaking his head. She sighs, almost tossing the books onto the ground, however, she didn't. "Who knew finding the information you want is hard."
Ginny couldn't help but giggled at the comment, "Well, at least you know how my Brothers feel about it." The red-haired girl jokes, trying to lighten the mood.
The bushy-haired girl just gave Ginny a blank stare at her friend. "Really? Joking at a time like this?" Hermione asked the red-haired girl,
"What? All of us are serious all the time since Helena disappeared." Ginny stated, wanting to release the tension they were having. "Mum says it's not good for your health if everything you take is serious."
Cedric couldn't help but chuckle at Ginny's little comment. His eyes turn to the smartest Witch in their generation. "Ginny's right, all this serious talk isn't good. A little laughter would be useful now," He smiles.
"Exactly, like I always said to my friends back then. You guys are always too 'Sirius' lighten up!" Sirius made a pun with his name after returning with some beverages.
Hermione shook her head but couldn't help but chuckle at the pun. "See? That always works no matter what." Sirius chuckles before walking to the table and placing the tray of water on the table. "I brought some water, you three look like you need it."
Ginny and Cedric quickly approached the table where the water was. Both took one glass of water and drank from it. "Thanks, Sirius for the drink!" Ginny thanks the Convict.
"Much appreciate it, Mr. Black." Cedric thanks the Godfather of the girl he likes for the refreshment.
"Any time," Sirius gazed over to the books laid out on the table. "Now, what is this about a ruin in the Forbidden Forest?" He asked the New Trio, curious about what they were searching for.
Hermione looks at Sirius, sharing what they know so far. "From what little information we dug up, all we know is that there is a ruin in the Forbidden Forest where a mirror resides that could take you to another World."
"Don't forget, there are two Guardians said to stop those who weren't chosen by the creator." Ginny reminded Hermion of the important part. "One being light and the other dark,"
Sirius nodded, "Interesting, so these Guardians take the play of light and dark Magic." The shaggy-haired man commented. "So, what exactly you three are looking for in my Family's Library?"
"The location of said Ruins, that's the only piece we're missing." Cedric continues, looking over to the books scattered everywhere.
"I'm not too sure if I could help you there, guys," Sirius said, wishing he'd studied more here so he can be better used to them. "But as you can see…I'm not exactly a bookworm like Hermione or Helena."
"But I am." Everyone looked at the entrance of the Black Family's Library, seeing Remus standing at the door.
Sirius quickly steps forward, seeing the Werewolf, "Remus, I can explain-"
Remus Lupin held up his hand, "No, I heard everything and I know exactly what you all were talking about." The Werewolf heads towards the end of the Library, taking out a hidden book in the space between shelves.
Hermione stood up, seeing the book, the spine was the same color and design as the wood. "It's completely camouflaged. I didn't even notice it when we were searching the shelves!" She stated,
"How did you know where to find it, Mr. Lupin?" Cedric asked the former Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher.
"I'm curious as well, Moony. When did you find the time to know where that book was?" Sirius asked the brown-haired man,
Remus looks at the group, placing the book down on the table. "The moment when Nicola disappeared. After You-Know-Who killed James and Lily, and after you have taken Helena to Hagrid. I went back to try and sniff where my Godson was." He said, knowing his Werewolf curse would be helpful in searching for the Pup.
"When I use my Werewolf nose, I couldn't help but notice that there was a foreign residue mixed with Nicola's sent where his crib was," Remus said, explaining what he found out back when. "When I came back to the Black's manor, I picked up the same sent on this book and took a look into this book."
Everyone looked at the cover of the book, it has a golden ring that has points pointing in an X shape with a circle in the center. "What is this symbol? I have never seen it before and trust me the Library my family has nothing like this." Cedric commented.
"I know, but that's not what we're looking for," Hermione said, turning the pages, and revealing a sketch of an ancient tree with stairs going down beneath it.
"That tree, that's probably what we're looking for," Ginny stated, taking note of the sketch they see.
Sirius stood straight, seeing they have already gotten a lead on finding where Helena was. "All right, now that we have something we can start looking." The Animagus said excitedly.
"Right," everyone agrees, Hermione looks over to Remus,
"Professor Lupin, are you going to join us?' The young Witch asked the former Professor.
Remus nodded, responding to Hermione's question. "Yes, I want to find Helena. I want to make things right with her by helping her." The Werewolf stated, not wanting the same thing to happen with Nicola to Helena.
"Then let's go, the sooner we leave the sooner we can find Helena," Sirius said, wanting to find where his Goddaughter is.
Galar Region, Hammerlocke
(Insert Hammerlocke - Pokémon Sword and Shield OST (Gamerip)
Hammerlocke is a city booming with historical sites located in the Galar Region. The city is known for preserving its historical archives pretty well and is the second most populated City in all of Galar.
Adam Ceder, the Pokemon Professor is known for researching many things. He wore a blue jacket with gold detailing, jeans, and running shoes. Around him was a backpack filled with notes and books. He held his blue and blonde hair in a ponytail with one stand falling on his face.
"So? What do you think? Impressive no, my new Apprentice/Assistant." Adam turns to Helena.
Helena wore a white sweater, a pink scarf around her neck, and some black pants and boots reaching above her ankles. She had her black hair tied in a short ponytail with a pink bow to keep it in place.
She was still in awe at how the Galar Region was so similar to Britain. Though the Geography was a bit different it was still comforting. The lush green fields in the Wild Area, the buildings, the culture, and even the cuisine gave Helena nostalgia
Helena took a deep breath, taking in the fresh air of Galar (Something her World doesn't), and smiles. "There are no words to describe Galar. This reminds me of my home before I went on my Journey." She commented.
"I'm glad, did you know your Hatenna came from Galar?" Adam converse with his Apprentice. "The Hatenna line is rare, even from Galar's standpoint. But in Glimwood Tangle and Ballonlea, they are abundance,"
The Professor raised his finger in the air as the two entered the Historical City. "Trainers there will always have Hatenna, Hattrem, or Hatterene in their teams," Adam informed the young Researcher.
"I see, that is interesting." Helena paused, taking out a Pokeball from her belt. "Hatenna, come out please." She releases her Pokemon onto the ground,
Hatenna excitedly jumps on the brick path, sensing that she's back in her home Region. "Hat! Hatenna!" She cheered.
"Yes, I know you're excited to be home." Helena picks up her Partner, holding the Calm Pokemon in her arms. "Now come on, Professor Ceder is walking ahead of us."
"Hat!"
Helena and Hatenna walk down the brick road of Hammerlocke. She and her Pokemon looked around in awe, seeing how the old buildings merged with modern-day shops and teashops,
The former Witch stops upon seeing a few Knight statues placed for tourists and the many small blue Rookidees perched on the statues.
"This City reminds me of Camelot in the Arthurian legends." Helena couldn't help but compare the similarity of Hammerlocke to Camelot in the legends. She looks at her Mentor, curious about what they're doing here, "Professor, where are we going?"
The blue and blonde-haired Professor eyes Helena, answering her question. "We're going to meet a Colleague of mine at Hammerlocke Gym. It's the large tower in the middle of the City." Adam points to the tower with structures like Dragon wings at its East and West.
Helena raised her eyebrow, seeing the Gym towing over the City. "That's a Pokemon Gym!? It's like Rustboro Tower but more…taller." She commented, shocked by how tall and ancient the Gym is.
"Hat," Hatenna agreed with her trainer, looming at the Hammerlocke Gym.
"Though, I do wonder what Types the Gym Leader uses." The former Witch commented.
"That's simple dear, it's Dragon-types." Helena and Hatenna heard a voice speaking to them. Their eyes drew forward, seeing an elderly woman in a lab coat and pale pink hair. "Hammerlocke's young Gym Leader Raihan uses Dragon-type Pokemon."
"Professor Magnolia, It's nice to see you again." Adam greeted the elderly woman standing before her.
The elderly Professor smiles softly at the young Researcher, "Hello Professor Ceder, it's been a while since we last spoke." Professor Magnolia greeted him. Her gaze shifts to Helena, noting her presence, "It seems that you manage to get yourself a new protégé. Well, aren't you going to introduce me to her, Adam?"
Adam chuckles, turning to Helena. "Helena, this is Professor Elizabeth Magnolia. She studies the Phenomenon known as Dynamaxing and Gigantamaxing exclusively here in the Galar Region." The young Professor introduced this Region's Professor to his student.
"Dynamaxing and Gigantamaxing? I think I heard of those terms before." Helena commented,
Professor Magnolia pushed up glasses, ready to explain what those two terms are. "Dynamaxing and Gigantamaxing are when a Pokemon grow in size during a Pokemon Battle." The pale pink-haired Professor explains to Helena. "Only in certain areas we call Power Spots can a Pokemon perform this Phenomenon,"
"Gigantamaxing is similar to Dynamaxing only that a Pokemon's form changes when they grow." Professor Magnolia continues with her mini-lesson.
"Oh, it's like Mega Evolution. When a Pokemon holds a Mega Stone and the trainer with a Key Stone that changed the Pokemon their form during Pokemon Battles." Helena spoke, seeing the similarities between the two Phenomena.
Magnolia was impressed by Adam's Protégée's knowledge of other Phenomena. "I'm impressed by your comparison, young lady." The elderly Professor spoke; she looked at Adam, smiling at him. "Seems like you picked a smart one, Adam."
Adam walks next to Helena, standing beside her and Hatenna. "Professor, this is Helena Potter. She's one of my top students back at Hoenn's Trainer School." He introduced his Protégée to his Colleague.
"Um, it's a pleasure to meet you, ma'am." Helena respectfully greeted the Region's Professor. She looks down at her Partner in her arms. "And this is one of my Pokemon, Hatenna."
"Hat!" The Calm Pokemon greeted the pink-haired Professor.
"Likewise, my dear. And you too, Hatenna," Professor Magnolia greeted back to the two of them, "Now let's get going to the Gym, the Chairman is waiting for us at the Gym."
Helena looks at her Mentor, "Chairman? Does she mean the Chairman of the Galar's Pokemon League?" She asked Adam.
Adam nodded, following Magnolia to Hammerlocke Gym. "Yes, you see Professor Magnolia's research also helps with the Chairman's research on energy." The blue and blonde-haired Professor explains. "Chairman Rose believes that the Dynamax energy that gives Pokemon the ability to grow can be used as a renewable resource."
"That's interesting, but how does it work?" Helena asked, curious about the use of energy he described.
"And that's why we're here, the Chairman asked both for my help and Professor Magnolia to find a solution for that," Adam explains further,
Soon enough the three made it to the laboratory under Hammerlocke Gym, standing at the center was a dark-skinned man in a grey suit.
He was playing with his cowlick while speaking to a Scientist. Next to him was a platinum blonde woman, she wore a red frilled dress, a black pencil skirt, grey leggings, hexagon earrings, and a lab coat.
The man looked to the side, seeing a familiar face. "Professor Magnolia! I'm happy that you can make it here on short notice." Chairman Rose greeted the Region's Professor at the Research Lab.
"Yes, when your Assistant sent that message about a way to use Dynamax Energy on your little project, I have to come and see," Magnolia said, walking towards the two.
"Professor Ceder, long time no see." The platinum blonde woman greeted the Professor. "We're pleased that you were able to join us on our research."
"Yes, it's been years Adam. How's your job at the Trainer School you applied to?" Rose asked the young Professor.
Adam chuckles, "It's been great, I love that Job and the Students who have taken it."
Oleana looks over at the black-haired girl, looking around the laboratory. "Professor Ceder, who is this trainer behind you?" The woman asked,
Helena looks at Rose's Secretary, inclining her head to her and the Chairman. "My name is Helena Potter, I'm Professor Ceder's Apprentice." She introduced herself to the two.
Rose chuckles, looking at Helena while playing with his cowlick. "My, I didn't expect you to have an Apprentice Professor." The Chairman commented.
"Adam is an observant person, I knew eventually he would find someone who has taken his interest," Magnolia commented, standing on the sideline.
"Helena is one of my top students, her interest in Pokemon extinct forms has gotten my attention," Adam stated, placing his hand on his side. "I figured that I might give a little helping hand on that part."
Rose nodded, seeing that both he and his new Apprentice are similar. He approached Helena, offering his hand to her. "Well, I have faith that you will learn a lot from this man right here, Ms. Potter." He said, "Allow me to be the second person to personally welcome you to the Galar Region."
Helena looks at Professor Ceder before shaking the Chairman's hand. "Thank you, Chairman. I'm happy to be here," She said to him.
"Please, call me Rose." The Chairman of the Pokemon League said, "As a fellow Researcher of Science, I would like to give you the best of luck in your Journey."
The former Witch nodded, appreciating the Chairman's words, shaking it in response. "Thank you…um, again Cha-I mean Rose," Helena said,
Rose looks over to the two Professors in the room, "Now, why don't we begin? The data we've collected so far might interest you two." He said, moving them to the monitors.
"Of course, Helena if yo-"
Helena was about to follow the adults only to be stopped by Rose's Assistant. "I'm sorry, Ms. Potter but this research is somewhat exclusive to certain people." Oleana stopped the young Researcher in her tracks. "I do hope you understand."
"Oh, I'm sorry I didn't realize," Helena said, looking at both Professors.
Adam sighs, now just realizing the importance of keeping this project secret. "Yeah, sorry Helena. I forgot to mention this before, this isn't what I brought you to Galar for." He apologizes to his Apprentice. "We'll talk about it when we're finished here,"
Helena nodded before Magnolia spoke to her. "Helena, my Granddaughter is here with me with her friend. Why don't you go and find them? They're around the same age as you." Magnolia said to the young Researcher. "I'm sure you three would make great friends."
"Sure, I can do that," Helena responded with a smile.
"Good, their names are Sonia and Nessa." The elderly Professor informed the names of the people she would be looking for. "If you're having a hard time looking for them, my Granddaughter has a beige coat and Nessa is wearing a white jacket with a blue backpack."
"And be careful," Adam said to his Apprentice.
Helena nodded, "Okay, I'll go look for them." She turns around, heads to the elevator, and returns to the lobby of the Gym with Hatenna.
Once back in the Gym lobby, Helena looks around for the two girls that Professor Magnolia asks her to find. "Now, where could those two be…" She looks down at her Pokemon, "Any clue Hatenna?"
"Hat?" The Psychic/Fairy-type Pokemon looks around, ultimately shaking her head. "Hat…" She responded sadly.
"Oh, don't be sad Hatenna. I'm sure we can find them on our own-"
"PINK"
Both Helena and Hatenna jumped, hearing an elderly woman's voice shout. "W-What?"
All of a sudden, Helena was bombarded by an elderly woman wearing a long pink and mint green sports dress uniform with a purple fluffy collar. She wore a mint green bowler hat and had a pink and purple umbrella around her wrist.
"Such determination in your eyes, a kind and yet complex personality." The elderly woman spoke loudly, "And what's this? A pure aura? Now that's what I call pink!" She exclaims.
"Um… excuse me but you're a bit…"
The woman looks up at Helena, her face instantly reminds her of someone she knew back then. "Professor McGonagall?" Helena questions.
"Oho? Somehow you know my last name," The woman stated before smiling at her. "Come Child, you and I have much to discuss!" She grabs hold of Helena and takes her to somewhere they can talk.
