Ch 60 The Legend of the Heroes
It was the next day, and both Adam Ceder and Helena say their farewell to Professor Juniper and her team. The Student and Teacher pair travel through the other half of Chargestone Cave with hast.
Eventually after all the twists and turns the two endure, they manage to get venture out of the Cave, now entering a small cliff with metal railings
Helena smiles, rushing over to the railings and seeing their destination. A gust of wind blew through her hair, causing Helena to look up at the sky.
Her Emerald eyes saw a plane about to land in the City they were heading to. She then spots the Airport far off in the distance as the Plane prepared for landing.
"Professor Ceder, we're almost to the next City." Helena turns around to her Mentor, coming up behind her.
"Yes, I can see that, Helena. Mistralton City is a City famous for its Airport." Adam told the background of their destination. "The Airport also serves as the Mistralton Gym and is owned by the Mistralton Gym Leader too. Past down from Gym Leader to Gym Leader, it's been in their Family for ages." He explains further about the City down below them.
Helena blinks, surprised to hear that an Airport was owned by the Gym Leader's Family in the City. "Wow, you know I'm starting to think that eventually, we'll be able to meet a Gym Leader who's the leader of a City." She jokes with her Mentor.
Adam covered his mouth, hiding his chuckle from Helena. "S-Sorry, but you'll be surprised by what you might see during our travels through Unova, Helena." He chuckles.
"Am I getting an intuition that a Gym Leader is a leader of a City?" The young Researcher asked the blonde and blue-haired Professor.
"There's only one way to find out, Helena." Adam chuckles, starting to walk toward the path leading to the City.
Helena blinks at what Adam said, "What do you mean by that, Professor?" She asked, following her Mentor down the path heading to their destination. "Professor!?" She follows him, trying to get him to tell her what he means.
(Insert Mistralton City: Remastered ► Pokémon Black & White)
The two went down the path, entering a bustling City with many trainers and Pokemon around. The City's buildings were spacious with many small Battlefields for Pokemon trainers to Battle with each other.
However, the most attractive part of the City was the large Airport further down the road. In the corner of their eyes was a Hanger bey at the end of the runway. The Hanger has the Pokemon Gym symbol indicating that was the Mistralton Gym.
"This has got to be one of the most spacious Cities I've ever seen. The only place that I could think of that's similar to Mistralton City is Dewford Town." Helena compared the spacious City to Brawly's hometown.
"Dewford Town is a small Town with many rooms for trainers to Battle and Mistralton City is one of the small Cities in Unova compared to the others," Adam informed Helena, liking her comparison to Hoenn. "So it's the perfect comparison, Helena."
The young Researcher smiles before asking her Mentor a question. "Professor, what are we doing here in Mistralton City?" Helena asked,
"You heard about my Mentor, Professor Cedric Juniper, right Helena?" Adam looks at his Apprentice, answering her question.
Helena nodded, "He actually lives in Mistralton City. His Laboratory is just at the edge of the City." She looks to the right side of the City, where Adam was pointing to. "It's not a large of a building but it's decent for a Laboratory." He explains to the black-haired trainer.
Helena nodded, having an idea to keep an eye on. The two continued their way through the City, encountering many Pokemon Battles that trainers participate in.
"I'm curious if Team Plasma passed by here," Helena asked, seeing not many people were living blissfully with their Pokemon.
"It doesn't seem like they made it to Mistralton City just yet," The blonde and blue-haired Professor commented, "But I don't think Team Plasma would miss a City to spread their beliefs to the People," Adam added as they continued their way in the City.
"If you're looking for Team Plasma, then you're already too late, Adam." A voice spoke from beside the two. They look to the side to where the voice originated from,
Standing on the side with a big smile was a bronze-haired man around fifty or forty with a large cowlick similar to Professor Juniper. He has a large round bronze beard and wore a yellow striped collar shirt and dark brown pants with grey shoes.
Helena blinks at the newcomer, greeting them as if he knew them. Now that she got a good look at him, he bares some resemblance to Cedric Diggory but older. She shrugs it off, thinking it must be some Dimension doppelganger thing she read back in the Trainer School.
"Hello Professor, it's been ages since I've seen you." Adam greeted the Professor before them.
The bronze-haired Professor laughs, patting his former Apprentice on the shoulders. "Yes, it has, my Student. Tell me, how is teaching at that Trainer School? Not giving you grief now, has it?" Cedric Juniper asked Adam.
Adam chuckles, "No it hasn't, there are a lot of young aspiring trainers and Researchers that make my job interesting." The blue and blonde-haired Professor then turns to Helena, smiling at her. "This here is one of my many Students, Helena Potter."
Helena looks at Professor Juniper, greeting him like everyone she met. "Hello, Professor. It's nice to meet you,"
Cedric chuckles at the sight of his old Apprentice getting himself an Apprentice. "Well now, I figured you might get yourself an Apprentice after you finished your Studies." The fellow Professor looks at Helena, taking in her appearance.
"And I must say, she has the fine workings of a Researcher. " Cedric commented, sensing the same drive for knowledge within Helena. "Both you and Ms. Potter here share the same thirst for Researching and unraveling the Mystery of our World."
The bronze-haired Professor held out his hand, giving a warm smile. "A pleasure my dear, I am Professor Cedric Juniper. You might hear of me from this lad here," Professor Juniper motions his head to Adam next to them. "But I study Pokemon Ruins and the Legends regarding the World we live in."
"It's a pleasure too, Professor. Professor Ceder told me that he came to you because he was interested in Pokemon Ruins just like you." Helena commented,
"Why yes, he did. Tell me, young lady, what topic are you currently studying? Ruins by any chance or perhaps Legends?" Cedric asked the young Researcher before her.
"I'm studying Ancient Pokemon forms, like the ones in Hisui, and what happened to their forms," Helena informed her Mentor's Mentor.
Cedric crosses his arms, his expression changed from cheery to serious. "Hmmm…that is…"
Helena gulps sensing that Professor Juniper didn't seem to be impressed with her topic of Research. "Um…Profess-"
"A wonderful topic to study!" Cedric exclaims with joy,
"…Eh?" Helena wasn't expecting the bronze-haired Professor to do a complete turn in personality.
Adam chuckles before laughing, causing Helena to turn his way. "Professor?" The black-haired girl looked at him, curious about why he was laughing.
"Sorry, sorry, my Mentor tends to pause whenever something interesting or important is happening," Adam explains what Helena should expect when conversing with the bronze-haired Professor.
"I see." Helena giggled before hearing the elderly Professor laugh at his Student's comment.
Cedric laughs, patting Adam on the shoulders. "I do apologize for my habit, Helena. Anyways, let me show you two my Lab, it's just a few blocks over that way!" He said, pointing in the direction of his Laboratory.
The three followed the old Professor to his Laboratory, passing many ongoing Pokemon Battles.
Outside of Professor Juniper's Laboratory, a young girl with tan skin around nineteen to early twenties stood at the front door of the Lab. She was nailing the door back on its hinges.
"Man, to think Team Plasma would be this aggressive for their goals." The young trainer sighs, hammering the nails in repairing the door.
"Skyla!" The maroon-haired girl turns her head around, seeing Professor Juniper heading towards her with two other people joining him.
Skyla smiles, heading towards the three. "Professor Juniper, I see your guests have arrived." The young trainer observes, "Gotta say, they're a lot younger than I expected." She commented.
"Skyla, thank you again for helping me repair my Lab from Team Plasma." Cedric thanked the young trainer before her.
"Hey, anytime Professor." Skyla looks at the two guests that the Professor, greeting them. "Nice to meet ya, the name's Skyla the Mistralton City Gym Leader."
Helena was surprised at how young Skyla was to be a Gym Leader, she could be slightly older than her. She shook her head disregarding her thoughts, "Nice to meet you too, Skyla. I was a bit surprised to hear you're the Gym Leader since you look like you could be my age."
Skyla laughs at Helena's comment, taking that as a compliment. "Well thank you, what's your name by the way?" She asked,
"Helena, Helena Potter." The black-haired girl introduced herself before turning to her Mentor. "And this is-"
"Adam Ceder, I heard a lot about him from Professor Juniper." The maroon-haired Gym Leader looks over to the Professor next to Professor Juniper.
"I hope good things," Adam chuckles before taking a look at Skyla, "Since you're the current Gym Leader of Mistralton Gym, I presume Miles retired from that position?" The blue and blonde-haired Professor asked.
Skyla nodded, "Yeah, Grandpa is retired and left the Gym in my care. He's currently spending his retirement traveling the World." The maroon-haired Gym Leader informed the young Professor.
Adam kinda suspects that the retired Gym Leader would explore the World, "Miles is sure a free-spirited man, I always knew that he would want to travel after retirement." He commented before smiling at Skyla, "I'm glad that Miles picked you to replace him,"
"I may have some struggles keeping the Mistralton City Gym Leader name to Grandpa's standards, but I got it nailed down." Skyla grins, placing her hand on her biceps.
Cedric approaches the door, inserting his thoughts into the conversation. "Skyla is doing well for the past few months as Gym Leader. She's making her name well known in Mistralton City." He commented before letting everyone inside his Lab.
"Now, let's head inside my Laboratory." The old Professor opens the recently repaired door. Cedric turns to the group with an apologetic expression. "Do forgive the state of my Lab, Team Plasma has been here recently if you heard, and…Skyla and I were just fixing it up before you get here."
Helena covered her mouth, feeling bad for the old Researcher. "Oh no, I hope nothing got stolen." She said with concern.
Cedric laughs, scratching the back of his head. "Hahaha, do you think I would leave valuable research out in the open in my Lab?" He opens the door before turning to Helena with his finger in the air. "Listen to me well, Helena my dear, valuable research is worth everything, and it's worth more in very bad people."
"Like Team Plasma," Skyla said, continuing the Professor's statement.
"That's right, so when you eventually become a full fledge Researcher, Helena. Be sure to hide your important research in where someone least suspects!" Cedric grins, showing the group inside his Laboratory.
"Like where Professor?" Helena asked curiously. She enters the Laboratory of Professor Cedric Juniper.
To her shock, Helena could see the damages that Team Plasma did to the Laboratory. Pictures of Pokemon were torn, some vases were shattered on the ground, books were off the shelves, and equipment was damaged.
Adam chuckles, remembering the first lesson he learned from his Mentor. He enters the Lab as he answers his Apprentice's question. "Oh, something like…"
"A hidden bookshelf!" Cedric pulled a hidden lever on the table, causing the floor near the right to rise, revealing a shelf filled with untouched books and binders.
Helena was shocked to see a hidden shelf rising from the floor. 'If Hermione was here, she'll squeal at the sight of a secret bookshelf.' She mentally thought, impressed by how Professor Juniper hides his bauble research.
"That's so amazing, no wonder Team Plasma had a hard time looking for it." Helena smiles, now taking Cedric's advice when she eventually earns her license as a Professor.
The bronze-haired Professor heads toward the kitchen area, wanting to serve his guests something. "Why don't you all make yourselves at home while I grab us some drinks," Cedric turns to Helena and Skyla. "You two are old enough to drink, right?"
"Fifteen," Helena answers the old Professor,
"I'm nineteen, so two more years until I'm eligible to drink." Skyla laughs at the bronze-haired Professor's joke.
Cedric chuckles seeing the girls have a sense of humor. "Aha, you two have an excellent sense of humor. I'll be back with some proper refreshments for you all." With that said, the Professor went off and prepared refreshments for them. (End Song)
"Alright," Both Helena and Skyla look at Adam, walking over to the shattered pieces of a broken vase. "We should at least help Professor Juniper clean this mess," Adam stated, looking around the Laboratory. "it's the least we can do for him to let us in,"
The two girls nodded, agreeing with the blue and blonde-haired Professor. "Yes, Professor."
The three trainers took out one of their Pokemon, assisting them with the clean-up.
Helena with Kirlia, Adam with Leafeon, and Skyla with her Partner. Skyla's Pokemon was a Swan, a bit larger than the ones in Helena's World, but a Sawn no less.
They all spread out throughout the Laboratory, doing what they can to clean the place up.
"Kirlia," The Duel-type used Psychic to lift the heavy items off the floor.
"Thank you Kirlia, I appreciate your help." Helena took the heavy items that her Partner was levitating,
The two carefully place the heavy object in its proper place before noticing a peculiar book on the ground. A purple book with golden writing that was eye-catching to anyone who saw it.
Helena picks the book up and reads the cover. "Loving and Courage, written by Shauntal." She opens to book, curious about what was written inside of it.
The young Researcher was enamored by the contents written within the book. "Now this is something," Helena then turns to the back, reading the summary. "A young Prince saw a beautiful maiden in the village and finds the courage to court her."
"Maybe I should buy this book at a Bookstore when I got the chance." Helena smiles, taking a mental note when she eventually goes to a Bookstore.
"Kirlia?" Kirlia approach her Partner, curious about what she was doing. "Kirlia, Kirlia." She calls out to her Partner, reminding her of what they were meant to do.
Helena flinched, looking down at Kirlia who was crossing her arms at her. She then noticed that she was reading while the others were working on cleaning the Lab. "Sorry Kirlia, I was engrossed with this book I found," She apologized to her Partner.
Kirlia rolled her eyes, pointing to the rest of the mess. "Kirlia,"
"I know, know, I'll get back to work, Kirlia. Just give me a moment, please." Helena giggles, placing the book on the shelf, "Now let's finish what's left that needs to be cleaned."
Kirlia smiles, seeing that her Partner was back on track in restoring Professor Juniper's Laboratory to how it was before.
After a while of cleaning and placing things back where they were supposed to be, Professor Cedric Juniper returns with refreshments. "My apologizes for being late, it took a bit longer than I thought with the refreshments." He paused, seeing that the three had cleaned his Laboratory that Team Plasma made a mess of.
"Wow, I appreciate you all helping me clean this place up. Though I was planning to do it myself but what you all did was generous." Cedric smiles, placing the refreshments on the table. "Thank you,"
Skyla placed her rag on her shoulder, smiling at the Professor. "Anytime, Professor. We all felt bad when we heard that Team Plasma ransacked your Lab." The Gym Leader stated. "Even Swanna wanted to help after all you'd done in Mistralton City."
Swanna cried happily, agreeing with her Partner on that notion.
"That's right, Professor. This is the least we can do for your hard work," Adam said, wanting to repay his Mentor for many years under his tutelage.
Helena nodded, fixing up the books on the shelves she was on with Kirlia. "Professor Ceder's right, everyone wants to help you out, Professor."
"Kilira," Kirlia commented, agreeing with her trainer.
Cedric smiles, he wanted to repay these kind People in some way. "How about I tell you all a tale that's common among the People of Unova as payment for your assistance?" The bronze-haired Professor asked,
"A tale?" Helena asked, both she and Kirlia was looking at her Mentor confusedly.
Adam knew what tale his former Mentor was talking about. He noticed that Helena and Kirlia looking at him, "Well, considering that we came here to see you, Professor; then by all means." He smiles.
Cedric walks over to the table, pulling out the chair. "This tale is old, old in fact that its date can't be determined but the contents are very well preserved." The Professor stated as he began the story.
"Long ago, there were two Heroes that shared a Dragon. These Heroes used the Dragon's power to unite Unova into one Kingdom, this Kingdom stood over a thousand years." Cedric retells the story of the Twin Heroes to the young trainers.
"These two Heroes went on and ruled together over the Kingdom with the Dragon's help. However, the two began to have different styles of how to rule." The bronze-haired Professor stated, "The eldest wishes to rule with Truth while the youngest pursue Ideals. Thus conflict arose from the two's turmoil."
"Unable to choose, the Dragon splits into two aspects of both Heroes pursue, the Dragon that represents the Truth was called Reshiram and the one who represents Ideals was called Zekrom." Cedric continued. "Legends say that through the war, both Dragons used up their energy and the War ceased. Both Brothers saw their Dragons exhausted, transformed into Stones, and have placed them in their respected Castles where the two Dragons rest till this day."
Helena raises her hand, curious about one thing in the story. "Professor Juniper, about the Dragons, where exactly these Castles are?" She asked the old Professor.
"Ah, that's…a question I've been searching for!" Cedric laughs, causing Helena and the others to groan at his habit.
Skyla shrugs her shoulders, "That's Professor Juniper for you, always withholding his thoughts at the last minute."
Swanna nodded, experienced that before.
Cedric chuckles, crossing his arms with a serious expression. "Truth be told, Team Plasma's reason for ransacking my Laboratory was to search for these Castles. Possibly in search of both Reshiram and Zekrom." He assumes, finding this assumption plausible.
Adam nodded, getting what his former Mentor was saying. "Knowing you, Professor, you might have some idea of where these Stones are?" The blue and blonde Professor asked.
"Keen eye as ever, Adam." Cedric smiles at his former Apprentice's keenness. He nodded, sharing his thoughts with the group. "Yes, though it's just a theory but I do believe one of the Stones that the Legends spoke about resides in the ruins near Icirrus City said to be home to one of the Heroes, the Dragonspiral Tower."
"Dragonspiral Tower…" Helena said, hearing that name gave it a powerful feeling.
Unbeknownst to the group, someone was listening in to the conversation outside the Lab. This person is none other than N. "Dragonspiral Tower," He said to himself,
N walks away from Professor Juniper's Lab, heading to his next destination. He walks past many Pokemon Battles within the City, having a distaste for how these People use Pokemon.
He has faced Hilda and she said some interesting things, such as,
Flashback
"Seems like you've beaten me," N stated, placing back the Pokeball he has in his hand on his belt. "Pignite…he really trusts you for an odd reason. I find it strange that Pokemon being held in Pokeballs trust the People that capture them."
Hilda frowns at the green-haired trainer before him. "That's because we treat Pokemon just as People treat each other." She stated.
N closes his eyes, hearing what the brunette trainer said. "Respect? Tell me, is it respectful that confines others in small containers? What would you say if another Person was confined to a small space by another?" He asked Hilda before her. "Can you really say it's respect?"
The brunette trainer sighs, shaking her head. "I get what you mean, N. But you need to open your mind and see things from another perspective." Hilda stated. "People and Pokemon should be together and not be apart, that's how we grow, N."
The green-haired trainer smiles, "I have heard your Ideals, Hilda but I will reveal the Truth of this." N started to turn around, heading out of the runway. "You and everyone will understand that when I find the Pokemon of Truth."
"By everyone, you mean with Helena as well?"
N paused upon her name; his cap lowered so that nobody could see his face. He turns his head to Hilda, "Don't bring her name into this…" He said, a bit threatening.
Hilda places her hand on her side, standing her ground against N. "Why? Helena deserves to know that you-"
"She will know…eventually. I'll bide my time to tell her that I'm Team Plasma's King." N stated, feeling sick in the stomach all of a sudden. "Helena will see things when the time is right. But not now…"
With that, N left Hilda in front of the Mistralton Gym, heading to Professor Juniper's Lab to find the location of the Pokemon of Truth.
End Flashback
N couldn't help but shake the thought of Helena finding out he is the King of Team Plasma. The mere thought of her rejecting…
He shook his head, knowing that will not happen if he does things carefully. "Helena…" N looks forward, heading to Twist Mountain and to Icirrus City. However not before sending an encrypted message through his Xtranscievier to the rest of Team Plasma on the location of one of the Stones.
Now that N was done with sending the message, he's off to Icirrus City to challenge the Gym Leader and then meet with Team Plasma for the Stone.
