CH 21
When Kate plane landed and the passengers walk off the plane and into the terminal Kate smile when she saw Alice and Paul waiting for her. She walk over to them giving them both a hug
"Kate are you ok" Alice asked when she saw the look on Kate face
"I'll be fine"
"It hard isn't it being away from Mike" Paul said
"Yeah it is"
"come on let's go home and you can tell us how your Christmas went" Alice said smiling
"Ok so long as you tell me how the family reacted to the news" Alice laugh
"Ok, deal" they walk over and pick up Kate's bags then walk out of the air port talking about different things.
When they arrived home Kate sorted out her bags. She saw four maturity uniforms hanging up in the closet which made her smile. When she finish sorting out her things she called Mike to let him know that she arrived safe and sound which made Mike happy. They talk for couple of minutes before hanging up. Then she sorted out her uniform before going down stairs to get a cold drink then join Paul and Alice out side.
The next morning Kate arrived at the navy base, she went to see commodore Newman about her shore posting. Once Kate settle in she started her shore posting job. At lunch time she went to a car dealer to buy her own car. Once she pick the one she like and sign the papers she drove to cafe for lunch then back to base with it.
That night she pulled up in the drive away and got out and close and lock the doors and turn the alarm on then she walk over to where Alice and Paul is
"Kate did you buy that car"
"Yes Paul it cheaper that me taking a taxi every day and there plenty of room for baby car seats"
"You could of borrow our car Kate" Alice said
"I thought about that but what if you need it to go some where"
"she right" Paul said
"Yeah... how was your first day" Alice asked
"good, now if you will excuse me I'm going to get out of this uniform and in to a swim suite for a swim"
"You do that Kate" Alice said smiling.
Kate walk in side and up in to her room. Few minutes later she walk out side drinking a cold drink and towel she put the drink on the table and the towel over the chair then she walk to the hand rail and walk down the steps to so far then she dive in the pool when her head pop up out of the water she swam to the edge of the pool then turn around and swam back to the other side. Paul and Alice watch her swim thirty lengths of the pool before she stop and sat on the steps of the pool
"How are you feeling now Kate" Paul asked
"hungry but good, I was looking ford to this all day"
"Well you can swim in here any time you like, I supposes you find it relaxing"
"Yes I do"
The next day Ed flew back to England in the morning then two hours later HMAS Huon left for two month patrol. Over the next two months Kate had two doctors appointments and ultra sounds done. Kate smile when she saw the triplets each time and wish that mike was with her at each appointment.
Alice took weekly photos of Kate to see how much she getting bigger. Kate sends copies of the ultra sound and photos to her families. When Mike received Kate letters and photos plus the ultra sound he made him smile and sad at the same time.
His parents also put a letter in with Kate's so they can tell him what been happening with Kate, her cravings which he knew about. When Huon was in port the crew got a week shore leave.
So mike flew down to Sydney to surprise Kate and his parents. He took a taxi to his parent place. When he got there and paid for the fair he got out and got his bag out then he walk up the drive way and around the back of the house smiling when he saw who was in the pool swimming.
He walk in side the house and up stairs to his and Kate bedroom. He got change into his swimming shorts then he went and got a towel before walking back down stairs and out side. He put his towel next to Kate then he walk over to the pool and dive in. When he surface Kate got her back to him she turn around and was shock to see who it was
"Mike" she walk over to him quickly as she could so he meet her half way they wrap there arms around each other and kiss
"surprise"
"When did Huon get in?"
"This morning so I flew up here, I miss you so much Kate"
"I miss you to Mike" they kiss once more then it became passionate. When the broke for air
"where mum and dad"
"Gone to see some friends and have dinner with them so they won't be back till later tonight" Mike grin
"Good so how are you feeling"
"Happy... mike what are you up to"
Mike pull the straps of Kate swim suite off her shoulders as he start kissing one of her shoulders and neck. Kate smile when she relies what he wanted to do so she help him remove her swim suit and his short. They kiss and made love while in the pool. Mike got to see Kate expanding stomach and her breasts.
When he saw them he look up at Kate as he step ford and kiss her since she was standing on the steps so he could see how much Kate has change.
"Beautiful Kate your glowing"
"it the reflection from the sun"
"no, I've notice it in the photos and now"
"Really"
"Yes" Kate held onto mike hands she put them onto her stomach. Mike eyes widen and his smile gotten wider
"I felt it. Movement, her was that a kick"
"Yes it is Mike"
"amazing dose mum and dad know"
"Yes" Mike lean ford and kiss her once more then he pulled her into the pool while still kissing her.
"what would you like for dinner tonight"
"Remember that buffet restaurant we went to last year"
"Yes, you want to go there"
"Yes that is if you can get a booking"
"I'll go and make the call"
He give her a kiss then got out of the pool he walk over and pick up his towel and quickly dry down then wrap it around his waist before walking in side to make the call. Kate watch him the whole time while smiling.
When he return he drop the towel at the edge of the pool the drive in. when he surface he did in front of Kate
"I got us a table for tonight" Kate wrap her arms around his neck and kiss him
"Great what time"
"hour"
"hour, well we better go and have a shower before leaving"
"Yes we should and I notice you were watching me when I was drying down"
"Why not very sexy" Kate said smiling
"Sexy aye"
"Yes" Then Kate move her hand down Mike stomach
"Kate"
"Yes mike"
"Lets go and have that shower and I promise that we will continue this later tonight"
"Promise aye, well then lets get in side" they kiss once more before they walk out of the pool.
Mike help dry Kate down while grinning at her then he dry him self down before they walk in side naked. Hour later they were sitting at a table. Mike order him self a beer and Kate ask for lemonade.
"How long are you in town for mike?"
"Till Saturday, got patrol on Sunday why"
"Well I'm suppose to have my next appointment next week but I'll see if I can make it for Friday afternoon instead of next Friday"
"you want me there"
"Yes, but I need to make a call and talk to the commodore first to see if it ok"
"Ok it would be great to be there to see our kids"
"I know it would be mike and do you want to know what we having or wait"
"Why?"
"nursery and names" mike smile
"What do you want Kate"
"Mike I'm asking you. What every you decided is fine by me" Mike thought about it
"We can wait after all we both are full of surprises" Kate smile
"Yes we are so why not one more" Then the waitress walk over with there drinks.
Once she was gone Mike got up then help Kate to stand up then they walk over to see what food there is.
Few hours later Paul and Alice arrived home after being away all day. When they walk up stairs and down to there bedroom they could hear giggling and moaning coming from Mike and Kate room
"Oh mike, yes... yes... Oh mike that feels so good"
"what if I do this Kate"
"Oh mike, yes, yes, yes...MIKE" Kate yelled out his name
"Kate are you ok"
"Oh yeah better than ok just what I needed Mike" Paul and Alice look at each other and smile as they walk down to there room when they heard
"mike again"
"Kate I need some rest we been at it four times"
"ok you rest while..."
"Kate what are you... OH god Kate" When Paul and Alice walk into there room and close the door Alice turn to Paul
"Sounds like Kate hormones have kick in" Paul laugh
"Yes I remember you were like that"
"Yes but nothing compeer to what Kate and mike are going through right now"
"True I better not be surprise if we don't see mike till lunch time tomorrow" Alice laugh
"True, I wounder when he showed up"
"We can ask him tomorrow, lets go to bed"
"good idea"
The next morning Kate walk into the kitchen smiling "morning" Kate said as she manage to sit down
"Morning Kate your in a happy mood this morning" Paul asked
"Paul we know who put that smile on her face. Kate we know Mike here we heard you two last night" Alice said smiling as she walk over to the table and put a plate of toast, bacon, grill tomatoes and eggs in front of Kate.
"sorry if we keep you awake"
"don't be dear, we know what you going through and from what her heard your hormones kick in" Alice said grinning
"Yes they did, I've tired Mike out last night so I don't know what time he will be up today"
"We under stand. How long is he up here for?" Paul asked
"till Saturday, he leaves for his next patrol on Sunday it for a month then the crew got two weeks off then six week patrol. But Mike won't be there cause he will have shore posting for two weeks before coming here since we don't know when I'll be going into labor"
"That a good idea Kate, what about you when dose your maturity leave starts?"
"four weeks depends on what the doctors say it might be earlier" Kate said as she ate her breakfast.
"what about the nursery"
"Mike and I will go shopping on Saturday morning since his flight is in the afternoon"
"Alright" Paul said. Kate finish her breakfast and manage to stand up and went to collect the dishes
"Leave that Kate" Alice said as she walk over to the table just and they heard a car pull up
"that my ride, see you tonight and thanks for breakfast"
"ok Kate" Paul said.
Kate pick up her shoulder bag and hat then she gave them a hug before walking out the door to see a guy in uniform getting out of the car and walking around and open the passenger door.
"Morning ma'am"
"morning leader"
He help Kate into the car then he close the door and walk around to the other side while Kate put her seat belt on just as he got into the car and put his on the started it up and drove back down the drive way and head to navy base.
When Kate walk into the room where she working she saw the commodore so she walk over to him
"Morning sir"
"morning lieutenant how are you this morning"
"good thank you sir... sir I was wondering if I could have this Friday afternoon off except next Friday if I get in to see my doctor for the next check up"
"Why this Friday lieutenant"
"Mike my husband is up here till Saturday" commodore smile
"If you can change your appointment lieutenant to this Friday then you can have this Friday afternoon off" Kate smile
"thank you sir" Kate said smiling then she turn and waddle over to her desk and sat down.
She put her hat and hand bag in her draw then she pick up the phone to make some calls then got started on some paper work.
That night when Kate was drop off at home she walk in side looking tired. Mike walk over to greet her
"Kate you look tired. We were worried that some thing happen to you"
"I am"
"come on mum save you some dinner"
"thanks, I'm going to get out of this uniform and get into a nightie and craw into bed"
"Need any help"
"No I can handle it" Kate walk to the stairs and slowly walk up them.
Mike walk into the kitchen to get Kate dinner out of the warming draw. He got a bed tray out and put it on the tray then knife, fork and got her a large glass of orange juice. He just finish when his dad walk into the kitchen
"Mike I just saw Kate she looks tired"
"I know dad has she work this late before"
"Yes two weeks after she started her shore posting that was for two weeks, I hope it not going to happen again not now"
"i agree. I'll take this up to her"
"you do that son" Mike pick up the tray and took it up stairs and into there bedroom.
Kate just walk out of the bathroom in her nightie and walk over and got into bed. She luckily to have a bed hand rail to help her in and out of bed. Once she was in Mike walk over and put the tray next to her then he sat on the bed when Kate pick up her drink and drink some of it.
"Kate talk to me"
"About what mike"
"Dad said you always home by five thirty. What happen" Kate let out her breath and turn to mike she look into his worried loving eyes.
"There is lieutenant commander on the base I hate him most of the staff hate him"
"Why"
"He trying to suck up to commodore Newman... kiss his ass so to speak" Kate pick up the plate and towel she put it on top of her stomach then pick up a fork.
"He got others to do his dirty work, me included. That is why I was late in getting home tonight"
"You should tell commodore Newman about this Kate" Kate smile as she started eating her dinner
"I'm not Mike"
"what, why you can't let this lieutenant commander use his power and rank over you or any one else"
"i know that Mike but what lieutenant commander won't know is that I added a sticky note in the file that the lieutenant commander got me working on. So when commodore sees the note and comments in my hand writing then he would know who did the paper work" Mike smile
"I hope your plan doesn't come back on you Kate"
"i hope not either Mike any way got some news for you" she said smiling
"Care to share"
"Come and collect me on Friday at lunch time so you can take me out to lunch, then you can come to my next appointment at the doctors and then we can go shopping for the rest of the afternoon"
"You change the appointment"
"Yes and spoke to the commodore he giving me this Friday afternoon off since I was able to change my appointment and the reason why behind it" Mike grin
"that is great news, how your dinner"
"Great, I'm so hungry"
"I bet you are" They talk while Kate enjoy her dinner.
When finish and she drank the last of her drink. Mike help her to lie down. Then he kiss her "You get some sleep, I'll come in later"
"Ok sorry about tonight"
"Hey, it ok" He kiss her once more then he reach over and pick up the tray
"Mike what time did you wake up" mike smile
"It was after eleven when I finally walk down stairs. Mum and dad were grinning at me, any idea why"
"they heard us last night and they saw me with a grin this morning" Mike look at Kate in shock
"they heard us"
"ah ha"
"Great my own parents hearing us having sex"
"Mike they under stand, it my hormones"
"but still"
"go and talk to them"
"Ok night Kate"
"night mike" Mike manage to turn the light off then he walk out and close the door just as Kate close her eyes and feel into peaceful sleep with a smile on her face.
The next morning when Kate arrived to work she just sat down when the lieutenant commander walk over to her "Lieutenant did you finish the paper work yesterday"
"Yes sir"
"then where is it, I look for it on your desk, the commodore waiting for it"
Kate open the a draw while looking at the lieutenant commander when she saw commodore office door open and the commodore walking out then stop when he saw Kate pulled a file out of her draws and pass it to him.
He open it to look at it then close it. He said some thing to Kate while smiling at her which cause her to give the lieutenant commander a angry look. The commodore wondering what that was about.
He walk over to a desk passing some paper work it another lieutenant while looking at the corner of his eye to see what was going on then back to the lieutenant in front of him who pass the commodore some files and messages.
"sir" commodore turn to the smiling lieutenant commander
"Lieutenant commander Duke"
"Here that file on the Anzac project you wanted me to work on sir" He pass the file to the commodore
"thank you lieutenant commander, that was fast looking over it. What do you think of the project"
"Thank you sir. As for the project... it great" Commodore look at the lieutenant commander
"Good" then he turn and walk back into his office closing the door behind him.
He walk over and sat down in his seat as he put the files on his desk. He pick up the Anzac project file and open it up. He read the first two pages, when he turn to the third he saw stick note which he read.
then remove then he read comments left on the next few pages till he finish reading it when he read other comments, out lines of ideas that was type up and printed out including the ideas for navigation and battle plans if they come across the enemy.
When he finish reading the ten page plans and ideas he was impress till he read the last page which also got a stick note. Kate left her name on the stick note. When he finish reading it. He pick up the phone and made a call. Then he called Kate and lieutenant commander Duke into his office. When they walk in and the door was close they stood at attention
"At easy" they both relax
"Lieutenant you may sit down if it makes you more comfortable"
"thank you sir" Kate said.
Then she struggle then she mange to sit down. The commodore notice that the lieutenant commander didn't even help Kate or ask if she needed help.
"Lieutenant commander tell me your thoughts on the project"
"what project sir"
"this project you gave to me this morning" Commodore asked
"oh that project sir... Ah"
"you didn't look at it did you" the guy swallow and relies he in trouble
"You got lieutenant McGregor to work till after nine o'clock last night didn't you lieutenant commander. Lieutenant McGregor hasn't got clearance on this project. You were suppose to look at it and give me your opinion instead you past this on to some one who hasn't got clearance. Then this morning you pass it to me making me think it was from you, your ideas." He said yelling at the lieutenant commander
"sorry sir I didn't know it was classified"
"Get out of my office I'll deal with you later"
"yes sir" he saluted then he quickly walk out of the commodore office closing the door behind him.
"sorry about this lieutenant. You weren't to know about this project"
"It ok sir I knew it was for ones with higher clearance from the post note. But he order me to look at it for him and to type up notes so you would think it was from him. That is why I left post notes and comments on copy pages sir so you know it was from me and not lieutenant commander duke" He sat back in his chair
"I'll tell you lieutenant, I'm impress with what you written and the comments as well"
"thank you sir"
"Look with the out line your done up on the project do you think you can write up a full plan detail"
"By when sir"
"end of next week if I get the approval from fleet command"
"If fleet command dose give me the go ahead sir what about my other work"
"Finish what you got today and I'll let you know by the end of the day"
"Yes sir" He got up and walk around his desk
"Here let me help you up lieutenant" He help Kate up
"thank you sir"
"You can go, can you send lieutenant commander Duke in"
"Yes sir" Kate walk out of commodore office and over to the lieutenant commander. He look up
"commodore want to see you sir" then she turn and walk out of the room to go to the loo.
When she return every one heard yelling coming from the commodore office.
