Chapter 3 – The training continues
The next day Luke decided to continue to train Grogu. He knew that Din would be arriving soon, and he need to make sure at least he could defend himself while he was with him.
He and Ines still didn't have the courage to tell their kids, especially Alli about their plan, but he wanted to avoid that as much as he could, even if he knew it was something that was coming, very soon.
After taking their breakfast, Luke took Grogu near the water, where today he was teaching Grogu to support himself on one foot.
Right now, Grogu was on top of a log near the water, supporting himself on one of his little foot, having some difficulty, since once in a while he slipped on it.
"Concentrate." he said looking at the kid.
Grogu looked at him and then babble as he looked behind Luke and saw the girls peaking behind the leaves.
Luke smiled and putting his hands behind his back, he looked at Grogu.
"Remember what I told back in Coruscant. Abstract yourself from the world around you and only concentrate on the Force."
Grogu looked at him and tried again get himself only on one foot, still having a little trouble.
"Use the Force." Luke told him, as the child started to be able to balance himself on that log, only in one foot, which made Luke smiled. "That's it. Very Good." he continue. "Better."
In fact he was getting good really quickly.
"Padmé Beru and Alli Leia, what did I tell you about letting your father train Grogu in peace." Ines said looking at her daughters, who looked behind and seeing their mother, they ran towards their father and grabbed his legs, making Luke giggled at his daughters.
Ines walked towards him, and smile looking at Grogu, supporting himself on one foot, on top of a log.
"He is getting better."
"Yes he is." He said looking back at him with a smile on his face.
"Papa I want to try too." Alli said, making Luke and Ines looked at each other.
One of the reasons he decided to be with them in that moon jungle forest, was also having a quiet place to train his children too.
"You will, but first Papa is teaching Grogu."
"Why?" Padmé asked.
"Because he is little than both of you, and he needs to learn how to deal with people from our size." he explained to his daughter, which made the 4 years old looked at Grogu and nod.
"I see," she said.
"Well we will leave Papa doing what he has to do. So start walking in front of me." Ines said clapping her hands towards her daughters, making the girls pout and stump their feet on the ground.
"Awww mama!" they said at the same time, making Luke laughed shaking his head.
"No aww mama me. Move it." she said pointing her finger towards the same walk they came from, smiling when the girls walked by her, with their arms cross their chest and their heads down, making Ines looked at her husband. "Skywalkers indeed." she winked.
"Hey. You are a Skywalker too." Luke smirked and pulled her towards him kissing her on the lips.
"How long you will stay here?"
"A little while." he answered her.
"I will send Ben to called both of you for lunch then." she said.
"Thank you." he replied and winking he tap her butt, making Ines shake her head, and left leaving him alone again with Grogu.
After his kids left, Luke decided to take Grogu towards the Bamboo forest, where he made Grogu on top of a Bamboo stick, really steady this time, making him smiling.
Grabbing his lightsaber, Luke decided to make some lightsaber movements, and igniting it, he started to make some amazing movements with it, making Grogu opened his eyes and looked at it with wide eyes at it.
But he was not the only one, since Ben was watching his father too, taking every movement his father was doing.
Luke, saw him and smile at the face at his first born, seeing his smiling face.
"Hey little fella." he said turning off his lightsaber.
"That was so cool, daddy." he said running towards his father, which pulled him into his arms and hugged the little boy.
"Soon you will do that too."
"When?" Ben asked his father.
"Patience." he giggled. "But what are you doing here?"
"Mama asked me to call you and Grogu for lunch."
"Thank you. We will be there in a few minutes." he said, making Ben nod and watched the kid walked towards the hut where his mother and siblings were, and giggled when he picked a stick from the ground, pretending it was a lightsaber and started to imitate him.
He was planning to train his son while he was there and in the end give him his father's lightsaber.
"Come on Grogu. Time for a break to eat. Later we will continue." he said, and they both head to the hut.
A few hours later:
They just had finished the lunch, when Luke looked at Grogu.
"Ready to continue your training?" he asked the kid, making Ines looked at him.
"Right now? You just finished lunch!" she said towards her husband.
"I know, I sense we don't have much time." he told her, which made Ines nod.
"Can we watch?" Ben asked him.
"Pweeeease." the twins said raising from their seats and each one of them grabbed his arms and rest their faces on it, while looked at their father pouting, making Luke shake his head with a laughter.
"If you keep quiet. You can."
"Yayayaya." they jumped up and down while clapping their hands.
"What do you plan to do this afternoon?" Ines asked him, while grabbed the plates from the table and put it in the sink.
"I think it is time to test his reflexes." he said, giving a piece of fruit to his son Luke, who grabbed it with his little hand and squeeze while he try to lick his hand at the same time.
Ines turned to face him.
"Oh Luke, are you going to use it?" she asked, knowing exactly what he was planning.
"I have too sweetheart." he said looking at her. He knew why she was looking at him like that. Not only she had some the experience during her training years ago, he also was a victim back in the Millennium Falcon, when they were heading to Alderaan. "I know. I don't like it either, but you know I have too."
"What is it daddy?" Ben asked his father.
"You will see." he said running his fingers through his hair.
"You will not use that thing on our kids, Luke Skywalker." she said, laughing when at the sound of his name, her baby son looked at her and smiling he babble, like answering her.
Walking towards him, she kissed his little cheeks.
"I was talking to your father, my sweet baby." she said and looked at her husband. "I'm warning you."
"You know I can't do that. Every Padawan use it, so they will have to use it too." he said kissing her on the lips.
"Damn it." she said after they pulled apart.
"But, let's go before it gets too late." he said standing up.
"I will pay a visit to you, after I done the dishes." she said, while Luke went inside and after a few minutes, he came up with a bag, and looking at the kids he said.
"Come on, let's go." he said and smiled when the kids went in front of him, while he looked at his wife and with wink, he left the hut.
Reaching the place where Luke decided to continue to train Grogu, he put him on the floor, and looked at his children and crouching in front of them, especially the girls, he smiled.
"I need the three of you to do something for me, okay?" he asked, running his left hand through his daughter Padmé blonde hair.
"Okay daddy." Ben said.
"Girls!" he said looking at the twins.
The 4 years old girls looked at him and nod.
"I need you to sit down, and whatever happens, don't stand up and go to Grogu. He needs to learn on his own. Okay." he said looking at them, especially at Alli.
The little girls nod.
"Alli, sweetie."
"Okay Papa." the little girl said, making Luke smile and kissing her forehead, he stood up and went towards the bag, he took something.
Turning around he show it, and the moment the kids saw what it was, they knew why their father asked them to stay quiet.
"Oh poor Gogu." Alli whispered towards her twin and her older brother.
"Don't move like Papa said Alli. Or you will be in big twouble." her twin told looking at her.
Luke looked at Grogu
"This is a training remote." He spoke. "It will test your reflexes." and putting the remote on Grogu's feet, the child looked at it and thinking it was a ball just throw it back at him, making Luke smiled, but also the kids giggled at that.
Luke looked at his children, who covered their mouths, but he was not upset, after all he found it funny too.
"No, that isn't how it works." he replied and grabbing it, he put it back again near Grogu and stepped back. "This is how it works." and with force he turned the remote on, that rose up and started floating above Grogu, that looked at it with his big eyes.
The kids were watching, and Luke had to try to contain himself, to not laugh when he heard his Alli whispering.
"You will not going to wike how it works." the 4 years old said.
And in fact, seconds later, the remote shot a laser at Grogu, making the poor Child fall a few inches away, making the girls gasps, but they stood in their place, not daring to stand up.
"Get back up! Always get back up!" Luke told him.
Grogu stood up and didn't take his eyes from it, and seconds later, when the remote shot another laser, this time he jumped with a back flip, landing a few inches away, which made the kids clap and Luke smiled nodding.
"Very good." he said.
After that, Luke decided to continue to use the remote and while his kids were falling around the lake, watching Grogu jumping and escape every zapping that remote shot at him.
Looking at his children next to him, he smiled when he sense his wife and looking back he saw her, holding the baby of the family, who raise his left arm and grabbed his father sleeve, making Luke grabbed it and kiss his little hand, while Grogu had enough of that remote and with the force, he damage it, making it fall in the water, looking at Luke after that.
"Good." he said to him smiling.
"He is getting so much better." Ines said looking at her husband.
"I know. It feels like he is remembering everything he had learn back the time of the old order." he said looking at him.
Ines looked at Grogu and back to her kids, who was still clapping at Grogu. Luke knew why she was here. Looking back at her he said:
"Din called, didn't he?"
Ines looked at him and nod.
"Yes. He will be here in 2 days." she replied.
Nodding, Luke knew the worst day was about to come. The day that they had to say goodbye to Grogu, but also the day that he was sure his sweet Alli would be devastated, and he couldn't imagine that.
So Grogu's training continues and the day of the sadness goodbye is about to come.
