CH 27
When they return back to Sydney and took taxi van home it was almost kids dinner time since they woke up from there nap. When they arrived back at Paul and Alice home, Paul and Alice walk out side to greet them
"How was your trip" Alice asked
"It went great mum, grand dad was shock and happy"
"that good, can't wait to find out what happen" Alice said smiling
mike pass Grace to Alice and Mary to Paul then he past Kate connor then he pick up Connor and the baby bags while Kate push the stroller into the house while they all talk. Mike feed the kids while he and Kate Tell Alice and Paul what happen at the rest home.
"sounds like you had a great day" Paul said
"It was mum"
"some of the residents they were almost in tears when they pick kids up for the first time. They told us they haven't pick up a baby in years and that there own families haven't been to see them and they never seen any of there great grand children, only photos" Kate said
"Perhaps they live some place else or around the world" Alice said
"One of the residents said that her grand son live four blocks away and he got three children, she hasn't seen or meet them once. Last time she saw him was when he was teenager. She said it was sad that she wasn't even invited to his or any other grand children wedding. Most of her grand children live in Brisbane"
"That is so sad that it happens to families" Alice said
"It is, most of the residents haven't heard from there families in years, so send birthday and Christmas card that it. But seeing our kids it really brighten them up. But in side they are hurting. I feel sorry for people like them who families put them in a home and hardly hear from them again" Kate said
"At least you gave them some joy Kate" Paul said
"i know I spoke to one resident she said her family put her in the home five years ago and they wanted to take over her and her fiances. She didn't trust them with her money so she spoke to her lawyer before moving into the home. She sold her home and she sold most of her things, and rest she keeping with her, family alums things like that when the family put her in the home. They pestering her about signing papers so they could take care of the money. She said no to them. They show up four times a year with papers in hand. Last time they showed up they try to black mail her. But she stood her ground. After that she change her will since she look at the papers, she notice that they added more papers, it was her will. When she read it she rip it up and told them to leave" Kate said
"any idea why they wanted to be the trust of her money" Paul asked
"don't know but she did tell us when her house was sold it went for over three million dollars" Kate said.
Paul and Alice were shock "three million dollars" Paul said
"Yeah. She told me she change her will, she giving the money to charity and family earldoms to be sold in an auction and money go to charity so the family gets nothing" Kate said
"Good for her" Alice said. They spent the evening talking and laughing about the different things that the kids did while in the rest home.
The next day Mike and Kate went into town to do some last minute Christmas shopping while Paul and Alice look after the kids and the whole family showed up since they all get together every year for Christmas.
When Mike and Kate return from there shopping they were greeted by the family. They all talk and laugh when Kate and mike tell them about there trip to Brisbane.
The next day it was Christmas day. Mike and Kate spent the morning in bed making passionate love and snuggled in each other arms after wards as they could hear the family moving around the house
"We should get up" Kate said
"Yes we should" Mike lean over and kiss Kate before getting out of bed and walk towards the bathroom.
Kate watch him then she got up when she heard the shower running so she decided to join him in the shower.
When they finally walk into the kitchen Mike sisters were giving them a hard time which they use to. When Kate walk out side she was shock to see who was there
"Dad, grand ma, grand dad" Kate walk over to them as they stood up. She hug them all
"This is a surprise"
"Merry Christmas Kate"
"Merry Christmas dad"
"where Mike"
"In side, Jo teasing him as always" Kate said smiling as she sat down
"Teasing him why" Her grand mother asked
"Well mike and I walk in the kitchen half an hour ago since we were last ones up and it almost ten in the morning grand ma"
"did you sleep in" Her grand father asked
"No we were awake early"
"then why not get up" Kate smile
"cause Grand dad we had other things on our minds" Kate notice Paul and Alice were grinning
"I don't under stand" her grand mother asked Kate thought about what to say
"How did you think your great grand children were made" They thought about what Kate said
"Oh you and mike were having sex" Kate grand mother said
"Making love grand mother after all I've hardly seen mike this year and with me being pregnant" Kate said smiling Her grand parents smile
"We under stand I hope he doesn't hurt you" her grand father said
"no grand dad, he doesn't, he always gentle with me" Then mike walk out side and was shock to see who there
"This is a surprise, merry Christmas" Mike said to Ed and Kate grand parents.
He shake men hand and gave the women a hug and kiss in the check before sitting down next to Kate "what were you talking about when I walk out here"
"Same talk you and Jo where having mike" Kate said grinning as she drink her drink
"Oh that, what can I say Kate is very sexy when she nak..." Kate put her hand over his mouth
"I'm sure they don't want to know all the details mike" she move her hand away to see him grinning
"I can't help it Kate you know that"
"I know"
They all talk and laugh about different things that been happening since there last get together two Christmas ago. They all had a great day, kids included since it was the quads first Christmas. Ed and Kate grand parents were staying for a month which made Kate happy.
The next day Mike sisters and family left for there own homes since they working the next day.
The next day Kate return back to work part time while Mike left to return Back to Cairns to get things sorted out at his place then return back to Sydney that night. When he return he was carrying two suite cases which shock not only his parents but Kate as well
"Mike what going on" Kate asked
"Remember when I went to Canberra before coming here"
"Yes"
"I've been transferred to Watson bay, I start next month"
"what" Paul said
"how long Mike" Alice asked
"A year I'm one of the instructor for the Anzac project"
"what, mike you can't" Kate said He turn to Kate putting his hand into her's
"Kate I saw your name on the list. But there another instructor commander Ellis, he would be doing all the lieutenant commanders and yours paper works and tests. Admiral Towers know that we married and I did suggested it to him. He and commander Ellis agree with that idea and both the commander and I sign an agreement paper stating that I won't be doing any of your paper work and interfering any decision that the commander makes on your work"
"i under stand mike" Kate said smiling
"When do you start mike" Paul asked
"In two weeks Commander Ellis and I will be looking at each of the... students profiles but I won't be seeing Kate, commander Ellis is as well work out what we going to be doing before the courses starts"
"What about weekends" Ed asked
"Weekends are free to do what we can but commander Ellis and I will be busy most weekends so I won't be here to see the kids"
"Well at least your more closer than you were up in Cairns" Ed said
"Yes I am"
Over the next two weeks every one enjoyed them selves as well watch kids slowly walk around but holding on to items or some one hand. The day before mike start at Watson bay he uses Kate car to take his things there since he got officer quarters since he one of the instructors. When he saw his room he got started on setting things up. He was almost finish when there was a knock on the door so he answer the door
"commander Ellis"
"Lieutenant commander Flynn"
"come in sir" mike let the commander in
"Getting settle in"
"Yes sir, you"
"Yes, it been a few years since I was last here a lot has change"
"i agree sir"
"call me Neil when we are working and off duty"
"Call me mike"
"ok Mike I was thinking tomorrow we look at the students profiles so it would give us an under standing who the students are and read what we going to teach the class and work it from there"
"Good idea, what time"
"Ten in the morning in the class room"
"sounds good to me"
"Great see you then"
"Ok" Neil walk out of mike room.
Mike finish sorting things out before he left to return back to his parents place for the night.
The next morning Mike walk into the class room in his uniform since he starts his work that day. He look around the large room when Neil walk in carrying a box and brief case in his hands.
"Morning Mike"
"Morning Neil need a hand"
"I'm good thanks. Neil put the box and brief case on the desk.
Then he open his brief case and pick up piece of paper then he close his brief case just as mike walk over to the desk
"i was thinking why don't we look over every one files together" Mike said
"Why not"
they sat down at commander desk with Mike moving his chair closer while the commander pick up the first file and put it on the desk and open it just as mike sat down. The read about the student and talk about it and who ever the student is Neil or mike write down different comments about that student.
When mike saw Kate file being pulled out and put on the desk Neil open it as he said Kate name and rank. They read her profile. Mike look at Neil as he raise his eye brows
"Wow I'm impress with this lieutenant McGregor profile, winning every year student award, number of prizes as well the sward award at ADFA. Her grades amazing... including top Watson bay student in two thousand. No wounder she on the list, what do you think of her record so far Mike" he turn to Mike
"I'm impress as well" mike said smiling
"Why are you smiling"
"She my wife"
"Oh, that right"
Neil write down some comments about Kate file then close it and put it on the already read files then pick up the next file to read. After reading all the files they notice that there was three others beside Kate who won the sward award who on the student list.
When finish Neil and mike read and talk about what they going to teach there students as well making number of notes. They get together every day to go over every thing.
On Sunday afternoon Kate walk into her room at Watson bay after she said her good byes to her father and grand parents since they were flying out on Wednesday back to England.
she went and put her things away then she went and got some dinner then she went for a walk around the place and went to the ward room which is a bar for where navy officers meet after class to have drinks and to relax. She got her self a drink and walk over and sat down at a table since there was others officers there also having drinks and talking.
She smile when she saw Mike walk into the room talking to some one. Mike saw Kate and smile at her as he and the guy walk up to the bar. Once they for there drinks they walk over to Kate who stood up
"Mike"
"Kate all settle in"
"Yes thanks"
"Lieutenant Kate McGregor, commander Neil Ellis"
"sir it nice to meet you"
"you to lieutenant" they shook hands
"Looking ford to tomorrow Kate"
"Yes I am, care to join me sir, mike"
"Kate you know the rules"
"Mike class doesn't start till tomorrow and that is when we all meet for the first time"
"she right mike" Neil said
"alright" they sat down
"Commander Mike and I got strict rules, on weekends when we are at his parents place no navy talk"
"no navy talk" commander said
"We not to talk about work if one of us brings it up... we have to change kids diapers and bath them for four weekends"
"Oh that can't be bad, I'm married my self for two kids, one of each"
"Sir we got nine month old quads" Kate said smiling in her drink
"quads, oh now I under stand what you mean by the whole weekend. When I look after my first born, he was same ages as yours and it was a long tiring weekend I don't know how my wife did it when I was out at sea"
"Now you under stand sir and I did have a lot of help raising them since there was four of them"
"that good to know that you did have help"
"Yes sir" They talk for two hours before they went there separate ways since it was getting late for Kate since she for first class at eight in the morning.
The next morning Kate walk in to a room where she saw other lieutenants and lieutenant commanders in the room. She walk over to a desk putting her binder and hat on the desk then she walk over and interduce her self to some of the others till it was almost eight so she return back to her desk when her first two instructors walk into the room.
Kate didn't see Mike till after lunch. When she did see him she was two students away from his desk. When Neil and mike interduce them selves to class Neil talk about what he and mike are going to teach the class during the year while handing out books to them. Then they got started.
During the first week the students slowly got to know each other when they weren't in class. That weekend Kate spend it with the kids whom she miss. Mike couldn't make it since he and Neil were busy getting things sorted out before Monday class. The second week Kate was talking to four other female lieutenants.
They were talking about the male students from class. "Kate which one do you like" one of them asked
"don't ask me"
"Why not" Kate raise her left hand
"that while"
"your married"
"Yes"
"wow, so which instructor do you girls like"
"Mike Flynn, I love his eyes, his smile, and he look so sexy in his uniform" one of the women said
"I agree I wounder what he looks like with out his shirt on"
"How about no clothes on" another said they laugh
"you ladies for get it" Kate said
"Why are you jealous" one of them asked
"no but if you notice he wearing a wedding ring"
"Are you sure Kate"
"Yes and so is commander Ellis if you were more observant then you would of notice"
"Who ever the wife are they must be lucky" One of them said
"i agree" another one said. Kate smile as she sip her wine.
They all talk and laugh for the next hour about the male students and instructors. When Kate left she return back to her room to do some studying.
The next day Kate watches the four female lieutenants as they look at Mike with a dreamy look on there faces. After class Kate accidentally drop her pen so she bend down to pick it up while the others walk out of the room.
When Kate pick her her things she walk to mike desk she she has to walk pass it slipping an fold up letter on his desk in front of him as she walk pass and out the door. Neil saw what happen so mike pick it up and open it, he read what it said and show it to Neil
"sounds like we better keep and eye on those four lieutenants" Neil said
"i agree, I notice the way they were looking at me I though it was the topic they were interested in"
"Now we know. They rated you a eight or a nine, I see your wife put ten plus"
"Yes I notice that also she also got here when they due for swimming rescue training and suggest that we show up for afternoon swim"
"that wife of yours"
"I know plus we would know with the lieutenant commanders as well"
"Good point, why not"
On Friday afternoon the class got swimming rescue training. While there instructor were talking Kate saw Mike and Neil walk through the door and over to them
"Ah commander Ellis, lieutenant Commander Flynn thank you for offering to help demonstrate rescue technique, shall we get started"
"We are ready" mike said grinning as he took his shirt off while looking at Kate.
The two instructor talk to the class while Mike and Neil dove into the pool then the instructors got started by sending in two students in to do sea rescue.
Every one got a turn. When it was Kate turn and she rescue mike she whisper in his ear "love you closer tactics sir" she said.
When every one got a turn then the instructors drove in and swam to different areas then they got four of the students to dive in and to rescue them. Kate was one of them she had to rescue the physical training instructor. When she got close to him he went to attack her by push her under water, so she manage to escape and raise up to gasp for air when he pull her down so she pulled him down then she punch him to wind him then she got behind him as they raise to the surface then she swam to the edge of the pool while he was coughing.
"Ok lieutenant, you can let go" Kate let go and move away so he could turn around
"Good move lieutenant"
"Are you alright sir"
"I'll live" they turn to see the other three students fail the test.
They all got out of the pool while the commander talk to them about what to expect in a situation. Then he got them to swim four lengths of the pool then tag the next one. They do it four times then they go and have there showers. Then he put them into groups of four per team. Then he got them started.
When the first lot was swimming he walk over to the other three "Are you ok tom" Neil asked
"Yeah that lieutenant McGregor shock me with her pulling me under water and winding me like that" he was rubbing his chest
"what is she like so far" Mike asked
"she fit, they all are but it early to tell how well she goes. See you both on Monday"
"Yep we will be here" they shook hands then mike and Neil walk towards the double doors
"Are you in trouble mike"
"she said she love my closer tactics, she surprise"
"Well she said in the note about her idea, she wasn't expecting any thing like what happen"
"No she didn't"
That night Kate walk in to the house. Mike greet her with hug and kiss "I've been looking ford to this weekend"
"same here Mike, where every one"
"dinner ready"
"Ok I'll put my bag away and check on our kids then I'll be down"
"Ok" they kiss once more before Kate walk to the stars and up them
After putting her bag in the bedroom she went to see kids sleeping which made her smile. Then she return back down stairs to see mike putting a glass on wine on the table for mike. Mike and Kate enjoyed there weekend together as well spending it with there family.
