Chapter 12 – Meeting the Jedi

The night had arrived, and the Skywalkers just had finishing dinner. Just like they had inform Leia and Han, they decided to leave Ajan Kloss and go to Tatooine in 2 days, not only because they needed to talk to Boba and apparently the new Lord of Mos Espa, but also to spend some time there. Like they talked, it was time for their kids to see and live a little the life that their father had when he was their age.

Ines had just finishing cleaning the kitchen, with the help of her husband, while their kids were playing around, especially with their baby brother, who was having fun in his walker, pressing the buttons that it had and listen the many sounds of the galaxy.

Standing from the floor, Alli walked towards her mother.

"Mama!" she said grabbing her hand and shaking it.

"Yes, sweetheart?"

"Will you continue the story?" the young girl asked looking at her mother.

"Please mother," Ben asked while pressing the buttons of his baby brother walker. "You promise."

"Yes, if we took our baths and eat dinner, you would tell us," Padmé nod from her spot on the floor.

"Pwease," Alli said pouting.

"They are right, please tell us more," Luke nod, joining his kids. He also wanted to know more.

Ines couldn't help but laugh and shaking her head, she sighed.

"Well then how about you all go to bed and I will tell you the continuation of mama's story!"

"Yes," the kids said and they all went to the twins bedroom, and the older kids got under the covers, ready for their mother.

Picking her baby, who looked at his siblings leaving and making him all alone, Luke looked at his wife.

"Well, never thought them going to bed so excited."

"If I knew, I would have tell them sooner," she said walking towards him and their baby and kiss her baby cheeks and then her husband lips. "Come on, cause I know you are just like your kids."

"You bet I am."

Laughing, they had to the twins bedroom and while Luke sat on the chair with their baby on his arms, Ines sat on the bed facing them.

"So where was I?" she asked.

"You were about to tell us how you and aunt Leia met Uncle Ben," Padmé said right away.

"Oh that's right. Okay, so, when we land in Daiyu, the kidnappers moved us to a cell underground the city planet," she started remembering that moment.

Flashback

9 years BBY, Daiyu

Ines had her ear closer to the door. She knew she heard some commotion outside, like someone was fighting.

"I think someone is coming," she said looking at Leia.

"Maybe are the bad guys," Leia said looking around.

"Grab that. When the door opens, you hit the guy on the stomach, while I grabbed his arm, and then you can run away."

Leia looked at her best friend.

"What about you?"

"Don't worry about me. You are the one who need to escape. It was you they wanted to kidnap in the first place, not me," Ines replied. "Just do what I say. Hurry."

Being hiding from each side of the door, the girls waited. Then the door opened and someone entered.

"Now," Ines mouthed towards her friend.

Out of nowhere, Obi Wan was hit in the stomach, and then someone grabbed his arms.

"Go, run," Ines told Leia.

Leia was about to go away, but Obi Wan was able to grabbed her, even with another 10 years old grabbing him and didn't want to let go.

"Wait," he said to her.

"Let go of me," Leia screamed.

"Wait."

"Let go," Leia continue.

"Let go my friend, you bastard," Ines said right away.

Being able to get free from both girls, Obi Wan looked at them for the first time. Looking at Leia, he could see his friend Padmé right away. The last time he saw her, was right after she was born, and now there she was, in front of him.

Looking at Ines, he smiled too. The 10 years old, was just like he imagine. It was the first time he saw the little girl, but he already could see her with Luke in the future.

"Who are you?" Leia asked, bringing him in reality.

"Your father sent me. I'm here to help you. Both of you," he said in a whisper, while he looked outside, checking if someone was coming.

Ines looked at the man in front of her, and even if she couldn't explain, the man gave her peace and trust. But Leia was still now sure.

"Where is the army?" she asked.

"Come, I'm gonna get both of you out of here," he said to them.

"Why should I trust you?" Leia asked him.

"Would rather stay here?" he asked her, making Ines and Leia looked at each other.

"He's got a point. What could go wrong?" Ines said and grabbed Obi Wan's hand.

"Ines," Leia said to her.

"What?"

"We don't know who he is."

"Well your father sent him, so that says a lot. Besides," Ines said looking at him. "He seems a nice man. I trust him."

Obi Wan looked at the girl, Luke's future wife, even if she didn't even know about that.

"Let's go," he said grabbing the two girls and walked out of the cell. "Here put this on, both of you," he said handle two orange rain coats.

The girls looked at each other and put the coats on.

"Do you know how to get out of here?" Ines asked him, while she put the hood.

"Of course I know." he said as they approached the exit door. "Just wait," he told them.

Opening the door, he looked around before he spoke to them.

"Come on. We don't have much time," he told, while they stepped outside and grabbed their hands. "Keep your heads down."

"Why, nobody knows who we are," Ines told him.

"This would've been easier with an army," Leia spoke looking at her friend.

"Like the army would help in this case, Leia," Ines rolled her eyes.

"Shh, quiet both of you," Obi Wan said, making the girls looked at him with a frown.

Reaching a hiding place, Obi Wan looked at the girls.

"Come in here. We have to change," he said, as he removed his green coat, making the girls gasped when they saw his lightsaber.

"Is that a…" Leia started.

"Yes it is. That's a lightsaber," Ines smiled getting closer. "I never thought I could see one for real."

"You're a Jedi," Leia looked at him.

"Quiet, both of you," he said looking around.

"Is just… you seem kind of old and beat up," Leia continue making Ines gasped her friend.

"Leia," Ines replied.

"What? Don't you think that?"

"Well kind of but maybe he was hiding or something," Ines nod looking at him. "How did my father and godfather knew where to find you?"

"We don't have time for that," he said and looking at the girls he continue. "There is a port across the city. We need to make the last transport."

"Okay, then let's go," Leia said right away.

"Wait," Ines said at the same time as Obi Wan, as Leia started to walked but stopped all of the sudden, when she was in front of a big creature.

"You have no idea what I'm risking being here, your Highness. From now on, you'll do exactly as you're told, understand?" he told her.

Ines smirked as she looked at the old Jedi.

"Well, good luck with that," Ines replied at him.

Grabbing their hands they started to walked, when he stopped, making Ines looked at him.

"Something's wrong?" the 10 years old asked him.

"We need to hurry," he said. "Come on. We need to put some new clothes on you."

Reaching a stand, he grabbed two capes, one green and one dark blue.

"Put this on,"

"Can I try this one instead?" Leia asked grabbing a beautiful one fulling with sparkle things.

"Half of the city is looking for you," Obi Wan replied.

"He is right. We need to go unnoticed and that is the opposite," Ines looked at her friend.

"Listen to your friend. Put this on." Obi Wan said as he walked to the owner to pay. "The little green and dark blue cape."

Leia grabbed two orange gloves and started to put them on, making Ines looked at her and shook her head.

"We don't need those," Obi Wan told her, but Leia already had the gloves on, making Ines looking at him and shrug her shoulders. "And the gloves."

"Why are you doing that," Ines whispered towards her friend.

"If he is paying why not?"

"I give up," Ines said rolling her eyes. Her friend was acting like the spoiled princess she was for the past 10 years and she knew it would be a waste of her time.

Approaching them after paying for the capes and the gloves, Obi Wan looked at them.

"Now, if anyone asks, we are farmers from Tawl and you are both my twin daughters."

"Granddaughters, maybe," Leia whispered, gaining an elbowing from Ines, who looked at him with a fake smiled.

"What?"

"Nothing," Leia said smiling at him and then looking at Ines who shook her head.

"This will be a lot difficult than I thought," Ines told to her herself as she followed them.

As they walked around the crowd, she looked at the place. It was the first time they left Alderaan and she couldn't believe there was a totally different planet, that was the opposite from her home planet.

"Where are we?" she heard Leia asking.

"Daiyu," he answered her.

"This place is incredible," Leia said making Ines looked at her.

"You think that?"

"Don't you?

Ines looked around.

"Not really. This place gives me a bad vibe to be honest," the 10 years old girl said making Obi Wan looked at her and couldn't help to smirked.

"Come on Ines, do you smell that?" Leia asked heading right away towards some type of grill.

"Gross," Ines said right away.

"Oh Come on. You are so picky."

"No, I'm cautious. Maybe you should be too," Ines said to her.

"Your friend is right. Don't smell at anything, don't look at anything, don't touch at anything," Obi Wan told them, leading the girls away.

"Well it will be more difficult not to look at anything, cause only closing my eyes and that would be more difficult to walk," Ines said right away.

"Finally that's Ines I know," Leia giggled. "And you sound like my parents," she replied to Obi Wan.

As they continue to walk, Leia looked at him.

"Why aren't you using your lightsaber?" she asked but he didn't answer her. "Maybe it's because you're not really a Jedi. I heard they all died."

"That's not true," Ines said right away. "Some survived and went to hiding. Maybe he did that too. Ever thought about that?"

Leia just ignore her friend and continued talking.

"I read that the Jedi can make things float. Make me float," she demand.

"What?" Obi Wan asked, stopping as he looked at her.

"I want to float," she twirled.

"No," he replied.

"Because you can't," Leia replied back.

"Because if I use the Force then it'll draw attention to us. Come on," he answered.

"I'm sorry about my friend, but sometimes she can act like a spoiled brat," Ines said looking at Leia. Unlike her friend, she knew he was a Jedi.

Leia stare at her and she continue to talk.

"You haven't even told me your name." she asked.

"Ben."

"It's not a Jedi name," she said right away.

Ines had enough.

"Oh shut up. What do you know about Jedi names?"

"And you know?"

"More than you, that's for sure," Ines replied.

"Shut up, both of you. And that's my name. You'll have to trust me eventually," Ben replied.

"I trust you," Ines said right away.

"I know you do," Ben smiled at the future Jedi near him.

Leia sighed.

"Well I don't. How can I trust you when I know you're hiding something?" she looked at him and stopping, she said. "You think the less you say, the less you give away, but, really, it's the opposite."

"How old are you?" he asked her.

"Ten," she replied right away.

"You don't sound like you're ten."

"Thank you."

"Please don't encourage her," Ines sighed rolling her eyes as they resume walking.

Once they reach an alley, a man appeared out of nowhere and Ben punched him in the face, making the girls gasp.

"Cool," Ines said right away. "Can you teach me how to do that? I really need to know so I can do that to the boys back home." she said approaching him.

"Who was…" Leia started to ask.

"He was a bounty hunter," Ben answered while he dragged the man out of sight. "We'll stay here for now." he said after a while.

Sitting on the floor, Leia remove Lola from her pocket.

"How is she?" Ines asked getting a sad look from her friend.

"No noise from that," Ben said pointing at it.

"Her name's Lola. And she won't make any. She's hurt." Leia replied him.

"Good."

Ines looked at him.

"Why are you pretending to be this mean person, when clearly you are not," she said, making Ben stop and looked at the her. "So you can cut the act, okay." and she sat back near Leia.

Ben looked at the girls and crouching near them, he looked at the droid.

"What happened to her, anyway?" he asked making Ines smiled. She knew he was a good person.

"She was ripped to pieces by kidnappers," Leia told.

"She was trying help us," Ines replied too.

"She will be all right, though. She's strong," Leia nod looking at her droid.

Looking at them, Ben sighed.

"I let your parents know you two are safe. You will back in the palace, back to normal, by nightfall."

"Normal. Great," Leia sighed.

"Now who is hiding something, Princess," Ben said to her.

"You don't have to call me that. I'm just Leia."

"Besides who wants to be normal. It sucks," Ines sighed too.

Then they heard a sound.

"What's that?" Ines asked looking at him.

"Stay here, both of you," Ben said as he walked towards the bounty hunter.

Looking at each other, the girls stood up and followed him.

"What is that?" Ines asked him, making Ben looked at her.

"Yeah, why is there a picture of you?" Leia asked too.

"Are they hunting you too?" Ines asked him. "Why? Because you are a Jedi, isn't it?"

Ben looked at her. But before he could answered her, Leia started to walked back.

"You did lie," she started.

"Leia…" Ben begun, but she continue to talk.

"That's what you were hiding. You're the reason I'm here. They took me to get to you. Did my father even send you?"

"Leia, this is not the time." Ines told her.

"Of course he did. Leia, listen to…" Ben tried to explain.

"How do I know you are not the real kidnapper?"

"Leia, why he would do that and then free us. That doesn't make any sense. This is not the time for one of your scenes," Ines said looking behind her, fearing that someone could hear her friend. Somehow she trusted Ben. She couldn't explain but she felt she could trust him.

"You have to trust me," Ben continue to talk to Leia.

"You aren't a Jedi," Leia said to him.

"Your father, is a very old friend," Ben continue.

"I don't believe you."

"Well I do," Ines said looking at him.

"Leia," Ben said and all of the sudden, Leia started to run.

"Not this again," Ines said and she followed her friend. "Leia stopped running. You are acting like brat right now. Just listen to me."

And Leia continue to run, and Ines was following her trying to stop, the girls eventually end up on the roof of the buildings, while behind them, Ben was shooting at someone.

Looking behind her and to her friend, who was looking at a big gap between the roofs, Ines looked at Leia.

"Leia don't. You are making a scene right now. He is not a bad person. Why can't you believe me?" Ines shouted.

Leia looked at her and then to Ben.

"Don't do it, Leia," Ines said, but she knew her friend would never listen to her and once again she was right when Leia decided to jump, making Ines scream.

"LEIA!" as she ran to the edge and saw her friend hanging.

"Hold on! Hold on tight!" Ben said right behind her.

Ines looked at him.

"Please, do something. Use the force. You can do it," she said with tears in her eyes.

"Ben," Leia screamed.

"Don't let go, Leia," he told her.

"Come on Ben, please," Ines cried.

Leia would not hold much longer and she knew it.

"Ben," Leia said and all of the sudden, her hand slipped and she started to fall.

"Leia!" Ines screamed, "Use the force, Ben. Please."

Looking at Ines and then to Leia falling, Ben reached his arm and struggling, he was able to at the last minute, make Leia float in the air and lay slowly on the ground.

Sighing in relieve, Ines ran out of the roof and once she reached her friend, they two hug, being followed by Ben.

"Are you alright?" he asked her.

"You really are a Jedi," Leia said making Ines shake her head.

"Of course he is. Next time just listen to me, at least for once," Ines said.

Ben stood up

"You should listen your future sister in law," he said to himself.

"Did you say anything?" Ines asked him.

"Yes, we need to move," he replied as he grabbed their hands and walked away.

Present Day:

"My godfather saved aunt Leia?" Ben asked his mother.

"Yes he did," Ines smiled at him.

"Aunt Leia should have listen to you, mama," Alli said making Ines giggled.

"Well she should, but she didn't. Not even 12 years later back in Bespin."

"You trusted uncle Ben," Padmé replied.

"Yes I did. I don't know why but I knew he was telling the truth and he was a good person."

"Well your force sight was working already," Luke said, holding an already sleeping baby on his arms.

"I guess."

"How did you leave?" Ben asked again.

"Well we had a little help from a scammer," Ines said.

"Scammer?" Luke questioned her.

Flashback

Daiyu, 9 BBY

Ben, Ines and Leia were crouching behind some boxes, looking at the spaceport that was now blocked by some weird people and stormtroopers.

"Who are they?" Leia asked.

"Inquisitors," Ben replied.

"What is that?" Ines asked him too.

"Well many of them were Jedi who turned to the dark side. Now, they hunt their own kind." he answered her, making the little girl looked back at them.

"Why would they do that? If I was a Jedi, I would never turned to the dark side," she said not noticing that Ben looked at her and a smile appeared on his face.

"This is all for you?" Leia asked, "Who are you?"

Then they heard a noise behind them, and when they stood up, some kind of droid was being shot by some guy.

"The bounty is on me. Let them go," Ben said right away, but the guy was not hunting him. He was trying to help.

"Listen carefully. The entire city's locked down. It's done. You need another exit. It's a cargo port. It's fully automated. They wont be looking for you there. Go to transport eight.

"What are you talking about?" Ben asked when the men gave him an object.

"It goes to Mapuzo. They'll be waiting." he said.

"Who will be waiting?" Ben asked again.

"There be people out there who can help you," he said.

"You expect me to trust you. You're a criminal," Ben said making the girls looked at each other.

"What do you mean?" Ines asked approaching them.

"Ines stay back," Ben said to her.

"Look, have I made some bad decisions? Sure. Do I feel bad about it? Sometimes. Do I like credits? Yeah. So much stuff you can buy with credits."

"Haja," Ben said making Haja gasped.

"You remember my name," he said smiling. "I'm trying to make amends. I got that family save, now I'm gonna do the same for you. If I's know what you were…"

"It doesn't matter what I am. I just need to take the girls home."

"Go to these coordinates. They'll help you from there."

"And how do I know this isn't a trap?" Ben asked.

"He is telling the truth," Ines said making Haja looked at her.

"Well she trust me. And what choice to you have?" Haja said to him. "You're not alone, Obi Wan," he said making Ines gasped when she heard that name. She knew that name since she was a baby. Now she knew why everyone was hunting him.

Watching the man, she smiled at him.

"Thank you, Haja," she said,

Nodding, he put the hood on.

"I'll buy as much time as I can," he said as he walked away.

Reaching the cargo port, they entered in the empty space.

"We must be careful. This is a cargo port. It's not meant for people," he said to them.

"That is good," Ines said,

"Yes, they will not look for us here," Leia nod.

"Well, not unless is a setup." Ben replied making the girls look at him.

"You really have some trust issues, don't you?" Ines asked him.

"Yeah, is that hard to believe you might have friends?" Leia agreed. "Look, since we both met you, we've being chased, shot at, I almost fell to my death.."

"That's on you," Ines interrupted, making Leia looked at her and then continued.

"And now there are Inquisiting people after us. If somebody Is offering help, I think we should take it." she finished making Ben smiled. "Now, come on,"

"She can be bossy sometimes. You'll get use it," Ines said but she looked at Ben, who was looking at Leia.

"What now?" Leia asked sensing that.

"Nothing, you just remind me of someone. She was fearless too and stubborn." he said.

"I'm not stubborn."

"Yes, you are," Ben said.

"I'm not."

"Sorry but he is right. You are," Ines said laughing.

"Hey, you supposed to be on my side."

"I'm on the side of reason," Ines giggled.

"Was your friend a Jedi, too?" Leia asked him.

"No, she was a leader."

"Where is she?" Ines asked him.

"She died a long time ago," Ben said looking at her.

"Oh, I'm sorry," the girls said at the same time.

"Me too," Ben said smiling sadly.

Then they heard some noise behind them, and pulling the girls to hide, they heard a woman's voice. Looking at them, Ben pulled the device.

"Leia, Ines. If I don't go back in time, go," he said giving the device to Leia.

"No," Ines said right away shaking her head. "We are not going without you."

"I'll be right behind you. I promise. Go!" he said and the girls ran away to the transport and started to wait for him.

Going outside Ines looked at the entrance.

"Come on Ben!"

"I think we should go," Leia said.

"No, he will come. He promise."

"Ines"

"Leia, will you trust me on this. Just for once. He will come," she said looking at the entrance sighing in relieve when she saw him running towards the cargo.

Entering, the door closed and the ship lift off.

Present time.

"So this is how we met uncle Ben and left Daiyu," Ines said looking at her children.

"What happened next?" Ben asked.

"I will tell you when we are on our way to Tatooine. Now it is too late and it is time for you to go sleep, cause tomorrow we get to get our things ready to leave," she said, smiling when Ben left the room and the girls lay back.

Kissing their daughters goodnight, and then went to the boys room and laying Luke on the crib and tuck Ben on his bed, Luke and Ines went to their bedroom.

Laying on the bed and getting under the covers, Luke pulled his wife closer to him.

"I'm loving to hear that story," he said. "Can't wait to know more."

"Well I can't wait to hear yours," she giggled as he kissed her.

"I can't wait to tell. But we need to sleep cause we have a lot to do tomorrow."

Nodding, they both fell asleep in each other's arms.

And the story continues. Next the Skywalkers will leave to Tatooine, while Ines tell her kids how they reached Mapuzo.
