Chapter 16 – Alli's first tantrum
After eating breakfast, Luke decided that he need to make the vaporizer to work, since they need to get water while they would be there.
"I think it is better I make the vaporizers to work," Luke said as he entered the kitchen and put the plates on the counter, and looked at Ines.
"How does it feel to not being a Jedi lately and be a moisture farmer?" she giggled, making Luke pulled towards him.
"How does it feel to be the wife of a farmer, instead of a Jedi?"
Wrapping her arms around his neck, she smiled.
"You know I wouldn't care. I would be with you no matter what and for me that is enough," she replied to him.
Leaning down he kissed her.
"I love you."
"And I love you," she told right back.
Pulling back, Ines looked at him.
"Are you going to ask the kids to help you. They need to know that here, is not Naboo or Coruscant. They need to do chores and it is not cleaning their bedroom back home."
"Yes, I will ask the girls to clean the vaporizers with a cloth, something simple. I did that a lot when I was young. Ben will help be to attached the canister to them."
"I will be here with our baby and R2."
Kissing her forehead, Luke went outside to the patio where his kids were playing with their baby brother, who was on is walker, walking around laughing and pressing the buttons of it.
"Kids, come with me. I need your help with something," he told them. Looking at each other, the kids followed their father upstairs.
"Father, will you show me how this works," Ben asked all existed when he approached one of the vaporizers.
"Well, while we are here, we need water, so these vaporizers need to work. And now you will see how dad lived when he was your age. And that here, we work hard to have a simple thing, like water."
"Okay," Padme said.
Giving two cloths to the girls, Luke looked at them.
"Papa will need you two to clean this, okay?"
"Only that?" Padmé asked him.
"Only that sweetie. When you do that, you are free to go play. But this need to be really clean, because if it has a sand, it can damage the vaporizer."
"Don't worry Papa, right Alli?"
The other twin was not that happy and looking at her father, she frown.
"I don't want to clean it."
Luke stop on his tracks and looked back at his daughter.
"Well your brother and sister are doing their chores, and so will you, young lady."
"Why?"
"Alli, Papa and Mama explained to you the other day. Here if you want to do something, you need to help with chores. Papa did it when he was your age, so you will do it too."
"Why?" she asked again.
"Because I'm your father and told you so," Luke told her again.
"I don't want to," and she throw the cloth to the sand.
"Alli, I never grounded you, but I will do it, if you don't pick it up that cloth, and clean that, just like your sister is doing."
"No, I will not clean cause I'm a girl and I don't like it," she said.
"That's it," and walking towards her, he grabbed her by the arm, and walking her down the stairs, he took her inside the farm and made her sit on the stairs near the dinner room. "You are grounded young Lady, and you will only stand up when you apologize and go do the chores I told you. Do you understand me?" he said, while she started to cry out loud.
Hearing the commotion outside, Ines came out from the kitchen and seeing her daughter sobbing like never before, she looked at Luke.
"What is going on?"
"I...wa...nt...to..get...up," the little girl said between sobs.
"No. Now you will stay here until I say so, and I swear Alli if you get up, there will be consequences, I mean it," Luke told her.
Ines looked at her husband with a question look in her face.
"Babe, what happened?"
"Our daughter is having a little attitude that I don't like it," he said looking at Alli, who was sobbing.
"Alli?" Ines asked surprised.
"She don't to do her chores and throw the cloth on the sand, saying she wont do it. Well she is in time out until she apologize and go back to do what I told her to do, cause if she thinks her sister will do it, she is so wrong. You will clean that vaporizer motor, even if it is on night time, do you understand me, young lady?"
Alli screamed, while she kept crying out loud.
"Alli Leia Talia Skywalker, you better stop that attitude, right now? You never made a scene like this before," Ines told her daughter.
Baby Luke approached his sister, on his baby walker and babble it, looking at his father.
"See, even your baby brother is saying you are acting like a spoil young lady," Luke said, which made Alli cry even more.
Approaching her husband, Ines looked at him.
"I think we spoiled her to much," she told him.
"Yeah, I love her but I will not tolerate this behavior, especially knowing she will rule the galaxy in the future. She needs to know that people need to work in many places to have food on their table."
"Luke, you are an amazing father. I knew I was choosing the right man to be the father of my children."
Smiling at her, he kissed her.
"I have to go upstairs and finish that before lunch."
Going upstairs, Ines looked at her daughter who was still sobbing, being watched closely by her brother.
"I know baby, your big sisters is acting like a little baby right now."
"Stop," Alli screamed.
"Fine. I better not seeing you leave your butt from those stairs young lady, or it will not be a time out you will get from me."
Heading towards the kitchen, Ines couldn't help to smirked. The terrible fours.
After more than an hour, Luke was able to put the canisters and attached them to the vaporizers, while Padmé had done her chore.
"So this will create water from the dry air?" Ben asked, being really interested in that.
"Exactly, that is what we need these to be clean and working," Luke informed his son.
"Cool," Ben said smiling.
"Papa, I'm done. I can clean Alli's," the little girl told him, which made Luke shook his head.
"No, your sister will do that chore that I asked her too. I don't care how long she will take, but she needs to learn a lesson."
"She is still crying?" Ben asked hearing his sister cries below. "It already passed more than an hour. How much tears that girl can produce?" Ben said.
"We girls can be such drama queens, brother," Padmé said making Luke laughed and pulling her into his arms, he kissed her cheek.
"And your sister beat you today on those dramas."
Padmé look at him and laughed, wrapping her arms around his neck.
Downstairs, Alli continue to cry, even if Ines already knew she was just making a scene, and she was not really crying.
Playing with her baby, while R2 continue to beep, making baby Luke laughed at the droid, Ines looked at her 4 years old daughter.
"Do you want to get out of the time out?" she asked.
"Yes," she said pouting.
"Well you know what to do you, don't you?"
Looking at her mother, she pouted and nod. Rubbing her eyes who were red from crying, she started to called her father.
Luke appeared with Ben and Padmé right behind them.
"What do you want?" he said looking at his daughter.
"I want to get up. My butt hurt and I want to pee, and you told me not to stand up, so I didn't stood up like you said," she said non stop, which made Luke turn away, trying to hold a laugh. After a while, he looked at her.
"You know that for you to stand up, you will do your chore. Do you understand?"
"Yes," she said nodding.
"Then go the bathroom, and Papa will take you upstairs," he told her.
Standing up, she ran to the bathroom, while Luke stood up and walked towards Ines.
"Trust me, I tried so hard not to laugh," Ines said running her hands on his hair.
"She needs to learn a lesson."
After coming from the bathroom, Luke took her hand and they head upstairs, to outside, and giving her the small cloth, he told her:
"Clean this like I told you and like your sister did with hers."
Looking at her father, and seeing he won't move and change his mind, the little girl, sob a little but started to clean.
While she was doing, Luke stood there, watching her, when his kids came from below. Seeing Ben with goggles, Luke laughed.
"Hey, look at you. You look like me when I was a little older than you."
"Dad, it was here that my godfather said you sat down pretending to podracing?"
Luke smiled remembering that day and looking at his son, he nod.
"Yes it was." laughing when Ben climbed as pretend to do the same thing he did when he was 10.
"I want too," Padmé asked.
"Come on board, young client," Ben said.
Grabbing his daughter, Luke put Padmé behind her brother.
"Hold on," Ben said to his sister, and the girl laughed, wrapping her arms around her brother waist.
Luke looked at Alli, who was crying again. Approaching her, he looked at her.
"Why are you crying?"
"I want to play with Ben and Padmé!"
"Did you already finish your chore?" he asked her.
"No," she said shaking her head.
"Then finish it, and then you can go and play with them," he inform, watching her, while she kept crying but continue to clean the vaporizer.
After awhile, she looked at him.
"Papa."
Luke approached her again, and saw that she had finish her chore.
"Very good," he said and crouching he pulled her towards him and started to wipe the tears from her face. "Papa is very sad with your behavior today. You never did such a scene like that before. Here is not home. Here we do chores and you and brother and sister will do chores."
"You did it too?" she asked rubbing her left eye.
"Yes I did, and I didn't like it either, but I knew I had to do it."
"I'm sorry, I wont do it again."
"I hope so." he said.
"Can I get a kiss?" she pouted.
Smiling, Luke pulled her and picking her up, he kissed her cheeks.
"There, silly girl."
"Can I play now?" she asked.
"Come Alli," Padmé called her twin sister.
Putting Alli behind Padmé, the little girl was laughing seconds later, while her brother pretend to ride a speeder.
Coming outside, with her baby on her arms and being followed by R2, Ines got closer to her husband.
"I see someone is okay now?"
"Well she did her chores and because of that she can play," he said wrapping his arms around her and kissing his son's head.
"Well I believe she learn her lesson," Ines said to him.
"I think too," he said and looking at Ines he smiled. "I think we are doing a good job, don't you think?"
"Yes we are," she giggled and kissed her husband.
They believe they were raising good kids.
"Well is time for lunch, guys and since you all did your chores, maybe I can continue to story while we eat, how about that?"
"Yayay," the kids said, even baby Luke clap his hands.
With that they head downstairs, to the nice shadow of their dining room.
Alli had a very first tantrum. How did you think Luke handle the situation?
