CH 39
When Kate and kids walk into the terminal Kate smile when she saw Mike standing there smiling. "mummy there daddy" Mary said pointing to mike
"I know, go on" Kate said.
They let go of each other hands and Kate as they ran towards mike. He crouch down to give them all hugs. Other passengers and staff watch the four run into there father arms while smiling. Mike spoke to the kids then he stood up and step forward to give Kate a hug and kiss.
When they broke apart "miss you" Kate said
"miss you to, come on lets get out of here"
"Sure I promise kids hungry jacks for dinner"
"That fine by me" then he look down at kids
"come on mummy promise you hungry jacks for dinner"
"YAAA" kids said.
Mary and Grace held onto Kate hands while Patrick and Connor held onto mike hands as they walk over to where the baggage area is. Mike and Kate pick the the bags then the six of them walk out together with kids holding onto each other hands.
When they reach the mini van Mike put the bags on the ground then he got keys out of his pocket and push the bottom on the key ring that unlock the mini Van. Kate open the side door then lift kids up and into there car seats then put there seat belts on while mike put the bags in the boot of the mini van then close the door.
He walk around to the driver side and got in while Kate on into the passengers seat and put her seat belt on. Mike drove to the nearest hungry jacks while talking to Kate.
When they arrive and mike park the mini van. They all got out and walk into hungry jacks.
"Kate what should we get the kids"
"Kids meal Mike"
"Ok what would you like to have"
"I'll have what ever you have"
"ok"
"I'll take kids over there" Kate point to a empty table
"Ok" Kate turn to kids
"come on kids, daddy getting dinner"
They walk over to the round table that was in the corner. Kate pick kids up and put them on the seat that went around three quarters of the table then they sat down. Then Kate sat down next to Grace. Kate and kids watch mike from where they are.
Kate talk to kids till mike walk over with one tray he put it in front of Kate then he return to the counter to get the next one while Kate pass kids there chicken nuggets, chips and bottle of orange juice. When mike return he sat down on the other side of the table he pass Kate her burger, chips and cup of coffee.
"thanks"
"kids must be hungry"
"Well it is pass there dinner time"
"True did they have any thing on the plane"
"juice and biscuit"
"Ok" Mike and Kate talk while enjoying there dinner as well check on kids who were happy with their meal.
When they finish mike and Kate let them play in the play area not far from where they were having dinner.
"That will tire them out" Kate said
"Yes it would Kate" They watch there kids play on different things while smiling and laughing.
"Kate do you know a lieutenant Miles"
"Dan miles blond hair green eyes"
"Yeah that him"
"Yeah I know of him we did ADFA and Watson bay course together, why did you ask"
"He my XO" Mike said
"Oh what happen"
"where should I begin"
"the beginning" mike smile as he look over to where kids are then back to Kate.
He tells her about what the XO done and how mike not happy with the XO. When he finish telling her, she under stand in why he needs another XO and navigator.
"Mike how on earth did you ended up getting him"
"what do you mean?"
"Mike he fail the navigation course and he fail in number of courses at ADFA. He just received just enough points to get into Watson bay"
"Well hopefully I get some one new soon Kate"
"I'm sure you will, as for lieutenant Roberts he was two years after me. I don't know how well he did"
"I'll find out when I return back to Cairns. I might have to ask for a new navigator before the end of the year"
"If you do let me know I can help you in that area"
"How"
"Mike I'm an instructor and I can spot the good and and well the not so good ones, if you like before the end of the course and you still having problems with Roberts, I can give you a list"
"thanks Kate, shall we get out four balls of energy, they must be getting tired by now" Kate laugh
"Yes they will be alright"
they stood up and took care of the rubbish then they went and got there kids from the play area then return back to the van while talking to them.
When they arrived at the hotel, the kids were starting to yawn. Mike and Kate carry the bags while kids walk with them into the hotel. Kids look around as they walk to the elevators.
Few minutes later they walk into the apartment and into the kids bedroom. Mike put kids bag on the bed and Kate on the chair. Kate open the bags and got the kids night wear out. Then she and mike help change the kids into there night clothes then made sure they been to the loo before going to bed.
Once done and mike left a night light on in the bathroom just in case one of the kids get up during the night to use the loo. Mike was going to read to kids when he and Kate saw them fall sleep soon as there head hit the pillow. Mike and Kate watch them sleep before mike pick up Kate bag and they walk out of the room turning the light off and closing the door up partly.
Kate follow Mike in to there room. Kate went to use the loo when she saw where the bathroom is while mike put Kate bag on a chair then he took his clothes off and got into bed and waited for Kate to return. When she did she removed all her clothes and put them on top of her bag then she got into bed and kiss mike.
"I've been looking ford to sleeping in your arms for weeks mike"
"Same here Kate, I love you so much" he cup her face with his hand
"I love you to mike and I know that look"
"what look" he raise his eyebrows at her
"the look that says your not tired and you looking forward to show me how much you love and miss me look"
"Really"
"Yes I do"
"Well..." he flip them till he was on top looking down at Kate smiling
"your right, you do know me"
"Yes I do, so are you going to show me how much you miss me"
"Only if you show me how much you miss me in return"
"Oh I will"
Kate show mike the look he knows all to well before he bends down and kiss her. They made slow passionate love twice that night before falling asleep with Kate snuggling up to mike side with a sheet covering them both.
Early the next morning Kate woke up just after five. She manage to get out of bed and walk into the bathroom to use the loo. When she walk back into the room mike was getting out of bed
"sorry if I woke you" Kate said
"It ok Kate"
he stood up and walk towards her giving her a kiss before walking into the bathroom closing the door behind him. Kate return back to bed waiting for mike to return. When he did and got back into bed he lean over and kiss Kate
"morning" mike said
"morning what shall we do between now and when kids wake up" Kate asked him
"morning exercises" Kate giggle as he put her arms around his neck and pull him down for a kiss
"I love that idea" Kate said as she roll them both till she was lying on top of him.
"so do i" Kate kiss him once more then they made love twice like they did the night before.
After wards Kate snuggled up to mike side as they slowly drifted off to sleep.
Hour later the kids woke up they sat up and look around the room as they got out of bed, they walk to the partly open door and open it and walk out of the bedroom, they look around and walk over to a close door. Mary bang on the door and waited then she did it again
"mummy, daddy are you awake" she called out.
Mike and Kate were sleeping till there was banging on the door which woke them up "Who that banging at this hour of the morning" Kate said half a sleep
"Kids"
"Could be" Kate said snuggling closer up to mike then they heard banging again
"Mummy, daddy are you awake" they heard
"Mary" they said at the same time as they slowly sat up in bed when they heard banging again
"Ok Mary we are awake" Mike said
"Daddy I need to pee" they heard Grace said
"ok" they both got up, mike walk into the bathroom to put robe on and walk back out again as he put it on
"I'll have my shower while you take care of kids and order room service" Kate said as she kiss him before walking into the bathroom
"Ok" he walk to the door and open it to see all four of them looking up at him
"come on lets get you kids sorted while mummy has her shower" they turn and walked back into the bedroom after mike close the bedroom door.
They walk into where kids sleeping and into the bathroom where Mike help kids onto the toilet since there was no step for them to use. Once they all been mike took them back into the bedroom
"I'll be back kids" then he walk into the bathroom closing the door since he needed to use the loo.
When done he walk back out into the bedroom and look through kids bags and got clothes out for them. Then he help change there clothing. Once they were dress they walk out and into the living room area where he made phone call for room service. Then he turn the TV on for kids to watch
"will you kids be alright"
"Yes daddy"
"Ok" He turn and walk back into his room.
When he close the door behind him Kate walk out of the bathroom with towel around her and she was using another one to dry her hair. She move the towel from her face and smile
"where kids?"
"Watching TV I've ordered room service"
"Ok, I'll get dress while you have your shower and shave"
"Ok"
Mike walk into the bathroom and close the door while Kate went and got dress and took care of her hair before she walk out of the bedroom and went to see kids then she went to make a hot drink for her and mike and got kids apple juice since she notice a three liter container in the fridge.
When mike walk into the kitchen fifteen minutes later, Kate pass him a cup of coffee "thanks"
"I for got to ask have you spoken to Connor yet?"
"I call yesterday he was playing bingo so I spoke to the manager letting her know that we coming this morning to visit grand dad since it been couple of years and that we bringing the kids, she said that he would love that and remember the last time we visit him and how the other residents love the kids since they hardly seen any of there grand children and great grand children"
"It is sad that families are like that today"
"We should talk Kate, he meet them once"
"I know but with out scheduler mike it makes it hard even for us to get together"
"True that is why we are going to come here with the kids soon are we both got time off"
"I agree mike" Then they turn when they saw who walk into the kitchen
"mummy when breakfast" connor asked
"soon sweetie, I'll call you soon as it gets here"
"ok" then he turn and walk back out of the kitchen.
"so what did you order" Kate asked
"You will have to wait" mike said smiling.
Ten minutes later there was a knock on the door so mike went to see who it was. It was breakfast that he ordered. The guy wheel it into the dinning area then he got mike to sign the papers then he pass it back to the guy. Then mike walk to the door and open to let the guy out. When he close the door he heard
"kids breakfast is here" Mike smile as he walk back into the dinning area to see kids running to Kate.
She pick them up one at a time and put them on chair then she check to see what mike ordered for breakfast. She got the kids there breakfast first just as mike walk into the kitchen to get kids a drink then take them to the table.
"I hope you kids like what I ordered" Kids grin as they put food into there mouths.
"they happy mike" Kate said as he pick up the last two plates, knife and forks then walk over to the breakfast bar
"Brew Kate"
"thanks mike"
she put the plates, knifes and forks which was wrap in napkin onto the bar then she sat down while mike made them a drink. They talk while enjoying breakfast as well check on kids to see them doing ok them selves. When they finish breakfast and they all clean there teeth and Grace and Mary hair was brush, they walk out of the apartment and walk to the elevators together.
When they got out side they walk down to the car park to where the mini van is. Mike and Kate put the kids in there car seats and made sure they were buckle in before they got in them selves. Mike drove them to the rest home.
On the way Mike notice cop car behind him flashing his lights so mike manage to pull over "what what wrong"
"cop pull us up"
"what" Kate said in shock
as she turn around to see two cops getting out of there car and one of them stepping forward to mike side so he got his wallet out so he could get his drivers license out
"Morning officer did I do some thing wrong?" Mike asked
"No we pulling odd car up to check if they registration and for a warrant"
"Yes it has"
"License sir" mike pass the officer his drivers license
"You up in Cairns"
"Yes I am, my wife, kids and I are here for a few days visiting family since I got a few days shore leave" the cop look up at mike
"Shore leave you in the navy sir"
"Yes I am, I'm lieutenant commander Mike Flynn and my wife lieutenant Kate McGregor"
"Hello ma'am"
"Officer" Kate said.
The officer look into the back seat and smile at the kids then back to mike and Kate "quads"
"Yes three and half year old" Kate said
"Well they strap into there car seats, that what I like to see"
"Have you come across kids not in car seats?" Kate asked
"to many times ma'am" he pass mike back his drivers license then he check to see that it is regeneration and got a warrant. Then he return back to the driver side.
"Lieutenant commander a friend of mine in the navy he station up in Cairns you might know of him"
"what his name"
"Chris Blake" Mike smile
"Swain yeah he the coxswain on Hammersley, I'm the captain" Officer raise his eye brows
"Your mighty mike"
"how did you know my navy nick name?"
"Chris tells me in his e-mails about his captain name might mike"
"Really" officer laugh
"all good sir" they shook hands
"that good to know"
"Well every thing is in order, enjoy your stay here in Brisbane"
"We will sir" Then the officer walk back to his patrol car while mike drove away.
When the two officers got into there car, one turn to the other "Why are you grinning"
"You not going to believe who we just pulled up"
"Who"
"lieutenant commander mighty mike Flynn"
"Who"
"mighty mike the one Chris been telling us about in his e-mails"
"What?" the officer said shock
"I'm not joking he and his family here for a few days and he got quads, two boys and two girls"
"quads, what about his wife"
"Lieutenant"
"Navy"
"Yep, they really love and care about there kids"
"Were they strap in there car seats"
"Yes they are"
"We haven't come across many families like that"
"True" Then they were back on patrol again.
