Chapter 17 – Rescuing Leia

A sandstorm was approaching, so after lunch, they decided to take the kids to their bedrooms, until the storm passed by, which made the kids wanted their mother to continue the story she was telling.

Sitting this time next to Ben, and holding a baby Luke, whose eyes started to close, she looked towards the bed in front of her, where her twin daughters were, each one sitting on each side of their father, while Luke had his arms around them, making the girls rest their heads on his chest.

"What happened to aunt Leia, mama?" Alli asked her.

"Well sweetie I wasn't there when uncle Ben rescued her. It was for the best that I stayed away, but according to your aunt, he and Tala were able to get her in time. She was being questioned by one the inquisitors, Reva."

"What did she wanted with my twin sister?"

"Leia said later that she wanted to know about the Path," she told her husband.

"Did she found out?" Ben asked her.

"No. She tried. She even tried to read your aunt mind, but with no success."

"Wait, that Reva, who was force sensitive and an inquisitor, meaning her job was to caught Jedi and force sensitive people. Didn't see sensed the force in my sister, especially after she couldn't read the mind of a 10 years old?"

Ines looked at Luke and nod.

"I know. That was something that I never understood, either, babe. She had in front of her, one of the most powerful force sensitive kids in the galaxy. One of the offspring of Anakin Skywalker and she didn't fell anything."

"What did she do?" Padmé asked.

"Aunt Leia said she put her in some kind of device, like a torture device to make Leia talk. And that's when Ben arrived with the help of Tala," she replied. "I'm not surprise that she was the one who went after you," she said looking at Luke.

"You think?"

"You didn't see her at all?"

"No, it was too dark, then I got unconscious, but I will tell you when the time comes," he winked at her. "Now tell us first, how Ben find out about Leia and what happened before and after they got my sister?"

"Well, when I realize that Leia was gone, and the pilot was dead on the floor, I had to reach Tala before she left," she started. "So I was able to get into her in time. She and NED-B were caring Ben. He was hurt."

"Why?" Ben asked.

Looking at Luke and then back to her son, she decided not to tell how she believed he got hut.

"He was burn, on his right arm. I think he felt into to fire, cause there was a lot fire around, after all that was a mining camp."

"Poor uncle Ben," Alli pouted.

"Don't worry, when we got to Jabiim, Tala put him in a Bacta Tank to heal him. But he didn't stay very long. He got out after a while and asked where your aunt was. Of course Tala told him what I told her." she started. "He knew he had to get her back, so he asked the helped of very brave people, who risked their lives to safe your aunt. Some of them didn't make it, sadly." she finished, thinking of Wade who died when they were about to leave the Fortress Inquisitorius.

Flashback

Jabiim, 9 BBY

Ines was sitting outside the room, looking down. Tears was rolling down her face.

Ben left the room, and saw her there. Looking at him, she looked down again.

"Hey," he said crouching in front of her. "We will get her back, Ines. I promise."

The 10 years old girl looked at him.

"I'm sorry. I tried, I really did. But she never listens to me. When I looked around she was already out of sight. And when I reached the end of the tunnel, it was already too late. She was gone."

"There was nothing you could have done, Ines. We both know Leia doesn't listen anyone."

"I should be the one in that Fortress, not her. At least I'm not that important like she is," Ines whispered, making Ben grabbed her face to facing him.

"Never say that again, you understand me? You are important too, Ines," he told her.

"Bring my best friend back."

"I promise," he said and smiled when the girl nod.

Standing up, he head towards Roken and pulled him aside, he whispered:

"I need you to promise me something. If something happened, make sure you take that girl to Alderaan. It is very important she at least makes it out of here."

Roken looked at Ines and then to Obi Wan.

"Promise me, Roken. Nothing bad can happen to her. Our future depends on that."

"I promise. You have my word," Roken said nodding.

Nodding too, Ben left with Tala towards Nur.

Present Day

"And with that Uncle Ben left with Tala, while I stayed with Roken all this time." she said to them.

"So when did you see them again?" Luke asked his wife.

"We got on the ship and we left to picked them up." she said.

Flashback

Heading to Jabiim

The door opened and they all entered inside the ship.

When the girls saw each other, they smiled.

"Leia!"

"Ines!" and they ran towards each other and both girls gave a big hug. "I'm glad you are back. I was so worried."

"Me too. But I'm here." Leia smiled.

Looking up at Ben, and the others, Ines smiled.

"Thank you," but she noticed that everyone was sad.

"Where is Wade?" Roken asked.

Everyone stand there, in silence for a while. Ines knew right away what had happened and looked at Sully, when she sat down. Heading to her, she reached her hand.

"I'm sorry for the lost of your friend."

She smiled sadly at the little girl.

Looking in front of her, she smiled when she saw Leia holding hands with Obi Wan. She was glad they have meet him. She knew as long he was around, they would be safe, cause he would make sure nothing bad would happen to Leia.

Then Ben raised his hand towards her. Standing up, she grabbed her hand, and sitting on his left knee, the girls also hold hands, happy they were together again.

Present Day

"And that was how your aunt Leia was rescue," she finished. "We thought we were safe, but sadly it was not over yet."

"Why?" Alli asked.

"Apparently they did something to Lola. A tracking device who made Lola acted weird. "

"So how you guys escape?"

"I will tell you later. Now I think the storm just passed by," she said.

Standing up, Luke went outside and yes, it was gone.

"Yes, it is," he said coming inside. "I need to see how the vaporizers are outside."

"I will go with you, dad," Ben said standing up.

"Me too," Alli said, making Luke looked at her with a smile on his face. Apparently their daughter learned the lesson from that morning.

"I will make a snack, how about that?" Ines said standing up and putting her baby on the crib, she went outside with Padmé, while R2 decided to stayed near the crib watching the baby.

While she was doing a snack for her family, she wondered how Ben got those burns, and she knew Luke got that thought in his head too.

Maybe Ben would tell them.

And the story continues. Will Ben appeared and tell them what happened in Mapuzo?
