Chapter 19 – Jabiim

Ines was looking at her children. This time they were sitting on Ben's bed, while the night started to fall outside.

Luke was holding his baby, who fell asleep in his arms a few minutes ago. He and Ines decided he would sleep with them that night, in case the fever would return. But so far he was feeling better.

"Mama," Padmé started. "What happened after uncle Ben rescued aunt Leia?"

"Well, we had to Jabiim, where from there, we were supposed to return to Alderaan. But we found some big problems."

"What do you mean sweetheart?" Luke asked her.

Ines looked at her husband and sighed.

"Apparently that Reva Inquisitor, put something on Lola. We believe it was a tracking device, because they were there after a while. Besides it made Lola sabotage the roof, which made us impossible to leave."

"Then how did you get out?" Ben asked his mother.

"Well first when we arrived, we found a lot of people there. They were also waiting to leave into a safer place. Including an old face we met in Daiyu," she started.

Flashback

Jabiim, 9 BBY

Once they left the ship, right after it landed on Jabiim, they saw a familiar face.

"Look is that guy?!" Ines said looking at Ben.

"Haja? What are you doing here?" Ben asked him the moment they approached him.

"I had nowhere else to go. Right after I saw you, I got into a fight with that scary Lady Inquisitor. Now I'm wanted by the Empire." he explained to them.

"Sorry to hear that," Ines said to him.

"Well, now I know what it feels like being a real Jedi. It is not easy," he said looking around. "This place is a good business opportunity though."

"Seriously!" Ines said and without warning she kicked him, making Haja looked at her with a question look. "This is for you stop using other people problems in your advantage. You look like the Empire, right now. Stop it." and the 10 years old walked away.

"I will feel sorry for the guy who married that one," he said rubbing his leg.

"You don't need to worry about that, they will love each other more than you think," Ben said and walked away.

Present Day

"You really did that to the poor guy?" Luke told his wife smirking at her.

"Or course. He was hunted by the Empire, like the people who were there, and he still was thinking to scamming them. I did what it came to my head. I kicked him."

"Can I do that?" Padmé asked.

"Absolutely not, young Lady." Ines said to her.

"But you did it," Alli replied.

"It was for a good reason and I'm your mother," she giggled at her.

"That is a lame excuse," Alli said shaking her head, making Luke laughed at his daughter remark.

"They are your daughters for sure," he said winking at her.

"Getting back to the story," Ben talked. "What happened next?"

"Well, the roof closed out of nowhere. We didn't know what cause, but later Leia and I figured it out it was Lola. With that, we had a problem. Your godfather however had a good idea, trying to hold of the Empire, while Roken was trying to fix the roof."

"So what did you do?" Luke asked her.

"We blocked doors, we made barricades. Hoth felt a lot like that moment, when we tried to escape but while the Empire was right there."

"What about the roof?" Ben looked at his mother.

Looking at her son, Ines remembered that moment.

Flashback

Jabiim, 9 BBY

Roken was trying to open the hangar roof but with no success once again.

"That was underwhelming," Haja started looking at him.

"I don't need your opinion," Roken replied to him clearly in frustration.

"Did you try going in the vents and see what's going on?" Haja said pointing at it.

Once they heard that, Ines and Leia looked at each other. Maybe they could help with that.

Roken looked at Haja.

"I'm a little to big to be crawling around in the vents. Would you like to try?" he asked him.

"Maybe we do," Ines started to saying.

"We are going to need a ladder," Leia said right away too.

"It's not playtime right now, Princess," Roken told her, making Ines looked at him with a frown.

"Excuse me?" she told him.

"Do as she ask," Ben said right away, making Roken looked at him with a surprise look on his face. "You trust me? I trust them. Get them the ladder."

Knowing he didn't have an option, Roken sighed.

"Give them a ladder. Quick."

"Leia, Ines. Be careful," Ben said to them.

"Don't worry, we can handle this, right?" Ines asked looking at her best friend who nod and both girls walked away.

Present Day

"So you two went into the vent to try to fix it?" Luke asked her.

"Well, we were the only ones who could fit in there. Even if Leia was the one inside, I was sitting on the edge, trying to see what was going on outside too."

"So, you didn't know it was Lola, yet?" her son asked her.

"No, not at the moment. When we reached the vent, Leia was trying to find the problem, while outside a battle was going on. And we knew that cause Haja didn't stop talking," she said making everyone laugh.

Flashback

Jabiim, 9 BBY

"Leia, we got to hurry," Haja screaming below. "Are you listening to me? I feel like you are not listening to me."

Ines looked at her friend and rolled her eyes.

"Can you stop talking?" Leia yelled at him.

"Yeah, you are not helping, Haja," Ines told looking down at him.

"He said it was a red breaker. Red!" he said it again.

"I know what he said," Leia replied, clearly frustrated.

"Haja, patience is a virtue. You should know that, judging by your age," Ines told him, making Haja bite his lower lip and looked away.

Present Day.

Everyone was in silence in the room, after Ines tell them what happened to Tala and NED-B.

Alli stood up from the bed and ran towards her bed, with tears in her eyes. Picking her up, Ines hold her daughter tightly in her arms.

"I know sweetie. I feel sad too. Even today," she said kissing the top of her head.

"She sacrifice herself, so all of you could be safe. They both did," Luke said looking at his baby son, who was sleeping, holding a piece of his father tunic in his little right hand.

"I know. I just wished I could have introduce all of you to her. I know she would have loved you."

"What happened next, mama?" Padmé said quietly.

"Well, we were not done yet. It was getting difficult to find that read breaker. There was a lot of electrical wires." she said. "But that's when Lola appeared and started to attack your aunt."

Flashback

Jabiim, 9 BBY

Then coming behind the wires, Lola appeared

"Lola? What are you doing here?" Leia asked, making Ines looked at her and gasped when the little droid started to attacking Leia.

"Lola! Stop, stop," Leia started to shouting, grabbing the droid.

"What is wrong with her? Why she looks different?" Ines asked, noticing the red eye.

"A restraining bolt?!" Leia said looking at the droid.

Removing is and throwing way, the droid got back to normal.

"Now we know who sabotage the roof," Ines said. "Ask her for help."

And with that, Leia was able to find the red breaker and introduce it in the right hole.

"It worked," Ines said seeing the roof open, and looking back at Leia, the two friend high five each other.

"Come on, lets get out of here," Ines said and they started to climb down the stair.

Once they reached the ground, Ben appeared calling them. Leia ran towards him and they hug each other. Looking at Ines, Ben frown.

"What are you doing over there? Come here," he said, making the girl smiling and run towards him too.

"Where's Tala?" Leia asked, only gaining a sad look from Ben.

"She sacrifice herself, didn't she?" Ines asked sadly, making Ben nod.

"Come on, we need to get to the transport," Ben said, grabbing the girls hands and heading to the transport.

Present Day.

"And that was how we got out from Jabiim," Ines said still holding Alli closer to her.

"But, it was not over, right?" Luke asked his wife.

"No, apparently our hyperdrive was broken and they were right behind us," she inform him, "Besides something happened, cause all of the sudden, Ben's expression changed. His look was of panic. And somehow, I felt that something was wrong too, but I couldn't explained."

"What was it?" Alli asked her.

"Well I can explain, sweetie," Ben's voice was heard and the force ghost of the old master appeared.

"Godfather," Ben smiled at him.

"What was it, Ben?" Luke asked him.

"Actually it was because of you. I felt that something bad was about to happen to you, Luke," Ben informed him, making Luke and Ines looked at each other.
