Chapter 23 – The first meet

Luke and Ines looked at each other and then to Obi Wan.

"What are you talking about?" Luke asked him, smiling when his baby son, wanted to leave his lap, and started crawling towards the force ghost of the old Jedi Master. Reaching him, he tried to touch his foot, but when his little hand just got through it, the baby just gasped, and sitting down, he looked at his hand and then he looked up at Ben, who crouch in front of him with a smile on his face.

"I know, it is strange, but you will get used it," he said, giggling even more when the baby started to crawled towards his mother, who picked him up, and couldn't help but laughed when the baby grabbed her outfit tightly with his little blue eyes still staring at Obi Wan.

"What is it sweetie? It is uncle Obi Wan. You already saw him," Ines said kissing his blond hair, knowing her baby was confuse with the fact he didn't touch Ben.

"Ben, what did you mean Ines and I already had met before?" Luke asked him again.

Obi Wan, looked at him and smiled and then looked at Ines.

"I'm surprise you forgot. Remember that day, when you two were 11 years old, and you saw a little girl, around the same age as you with her father? You were with your aunt and uncle that day," he said and looking at Ines, he smiled. "I'm sure you remember, since you were not suppose to be here in Tatooine."

"I do remember visit Tatooine before, but meeting Luke?" she asked.

"Yes, you two didn't talk, because, well, your father started to take you away from him right away, but you two saw each other face to face. You even met Owen and Beru. Actually you bumped into Owen."

Ines looked at Ben and then her eyes got wide. She remembered bumping into a man.

"Wait, that was Luke's uncle?"

"Yes. He knew who you were the moment he heard your father called your name."

"He knew my name?"

"He knew her name?" Luke asked too a little surprise.

"Well remember when we met for the first time?" the old Jedi asked him.

"Of course, it was when you gave me the T-16 Skyhopper toy. It was a few days after I fell from the cliff, when the Inquisitor was after me, that I thought it was the Tusken Raiders all along."

"Well, before we met, I was talking to your uncle."

"Yeah, I was cleaning one of the vaporizers when I saw you coming on your eopie."

"Yes, your uncle and I were talking. After everything that happened, I moved from the cave I lived for the past 10 years, and move pass the Dune Sea, to my hut."

"I know. Actually we know, since we spend the night there before rescuing Han from Jabba." Luke smiled at Ines.

"Well before I left I wanted to talk to your uncle, since the last time we talked to each other, was not on good terms."

"What do you mean?" Ines asked him, while watched the twins playing with R2, running around the patio, while Ben was laying on the blanket with his baby brother crawling on top of him, making the almost 6 years old laugh.

"Well, let's say Owen was not please with the fact that I was near. I guess he was afraid that you could end like your father. After all we all thought he was dead."

"And he thought it was your fault?" Luke asked.

"To be fair, I thought it too." Obi Wan replied. "But in the end, I knew deep inside your uncle was right. You needed to be a boy, to enjoy that while you could. The future would take care of itself."

"And it did," Ines smiled looking at her husband. "But how he knew about me?"

"Well, apparently Luke kept talking bout you," Ben laughed.

"Yes I did."

Flashback

Tatooine 9BBY

Owen looked at Obi Wan after he stare at Luke, who was still cleaning the vaporizer.

"Is she real?" he asked him.

Obi Wan looked at him, not understand what he was asking.

"Who?"

"The girl that he keeps talking about since that night. He said, that he saw a little girl, with amber eyes and brown hair, and she was beautiful. So I want to know, is she real or it was only because he had a big fall."

Ben looked at Luke and smiled. Indeed the force was already started to pull its strings on them.

"Yes, she is real. And she is also seeing him in her dreams."

Sighing Owen, asked.

"What is her name?"

"Why?"

"Well, I want to know how I will call her when I meet her," he said making Ben nod.

"Ines."

Present Day

"So, that was why he asked my father my name."

"How did you bump into my uncle? And what were you doing here on Tatooine?" Luke asked his wife.

"I will explained later, but first I want to know something," she said looking at Ben, who knew right away what she wanted to ask him.

"You don't need to say anything, I know what you two want to know. What happened between me and Vader?" he said.

"Yes, we want to know." Luke nod.

"Well, he kick my butt, like he always did," Anakin force ghost appeared, making the girls stop running and looked at their grandfather.

"Grandpa," Padmé said approaching him.

"Where have you being, mister?" Alli asked with her hands on her hips, making Anakin laughed at his granddaughter.

"Oh boy, I think I'm in trouble."

"Well they miss you," Ines said to her father in law.

"Well I'm sorry sweetie, but I was busy watching your cousins Anakin and Bail. You know they are way more of trouble makers than you two, right?" he said smiling.

"Boys, right?" Padmé said making Anakin laughed.

"Yeah right," Ben said sitting on the blanket. "You two are worse than Bail. Anakin on the other hand, is like you two, a nightmare. I know cause I deal with you two for 4 years."

Luke had to laugh at his son.

"Well they are Skywalkers," Ines said and looked at Anakin. "No offense."

"Well, sorry to break the news to you, but you are a Skywalker too. Not biological but legally and I heard you were a piece of work too," Anakin said approaching them, smiling when his baby grandson looked at him and smile.

"Who said that?" she asked looking at Luke.

"Don't look at me," he said right away.

"Leia!" Ines said right away. "I think I need to have a little talk to your twin sister when we get back."

"You two were something, for sure when I first met you," Ben said "But, Leia was way worse, I have to say."

"See!" Ines said looking at Luke.

"But you were no angel too, young lady," Ben said making the girls laugh at their mother.

"Uncle Ben call mama young lady," Padmé said hugging her mother from behind, making Ines smile.

"How about we stop talking about me, and let's back to the subject," she said looking at Ben and to her father in law. "What do you mean he beat you? What happened in that duel?"

Ben and Anakin looked at each other.

"What happened was Obi Wan was right all along. The desire of victory always made me blind. I should use my head. And I was wrong in many things."

"Like what?" Luke asked his father.

"I always thought showing mercy towards our enemy was wrong, cause it was not mercy that would make us win a battle. But I need my son to show me how wrong I was, when you show me mercy in that throne room."

"You are my father. I could never hurt you or even kill you. What example was I to my own unborn son at the time. Besides I had someone to light me the way," he said grabbing Ines's hand and kissing it, making her smile at him.

Looking at Anakin, Ines spoke.

"So you wanted to beat Ben so much, that it blind you with rage and anger."

"Yes. Once again I underestimate him. I won, or I thought I had won when I bury him under all those rocks, but somehow he got out," he said looking at his old master. "How?"

"Well that I can thank to you daughter in law," Ben said looking at Ines with a smile. "Without knowing she gave me a good advice."

"Me? What advice?"

"Thinking of the people we love," Ben said making Ines smile.

"You did that?"

Ben nod.

"Yes I did, when I was buried and barely could hold with the force, I thought of the people I loved and still love."

"Who?" Luke asked him.

"The three of you. It was you, Leia and Ines that made me get out of there and give me the strength I need. It was all about you. I needed to fight for the three of you. You were our hope and I was not wrong."

Ines smiled

"I wish I could hug you again, Ben," she said with tears in her eyes.

"I wish that too, Ines."

"Now it makes sense that you were so powerful. And you were right. I wish I could have known sooner," Anakin said sadly. "Maybe I wouldn't do such horrible things for so long."

"Grandpa don't be sad," Ben said to him. "You are here with us, aren't you?"

Anakin looked at his grandson and smiled, especially when baby Luke crawled and taking his pacifier he raise his little arm and showed to him, like he wanted to give to his grandfather.

"Are you giving that to me?" Anakin asked smiling, making the baby smiled back.

"Well when he is sad we give him his pacifier, I guess he is doing the same thing with his grandfather," Luke laughed at the scene.

"Oh," Anakin said and looking back at baby Luke. "Well, thank you for your kindness, but grandpa is okay, and you know why? Because I have you and your siblings and cousins that makes me happy every day."

Babbling, the baby put his pacifier back into his mouth and crawled back to his father, who picked him up and kissed his right cheek.

"And we are happy to have you with us again," Ines said.

"Yes we are," Ben said smiling too.

After a few minutes, Ines looked at the time.

"Well I think it is time for someone take their baths before dinner," she said making the girls pout.

"Aww mama, we want to play more," Alli said stomping her feet on the floor and crossing her arms.

"It is time of your bath, young ladies," she told them and stood up.

"Fine," Padmé said and then she looked at Anakin. "Gandpa will you stay for dinner?"

Anakin looked at her.

"Your grand kids want you to be with them more often," Luke said to his father.

"I will, besides I want to know who you two saw each other for the first time and what happened between you and Reva," Anakin said.

"Then I will stay too cause I want to know too," Ben spoke

"Then let's take a bath," Ines said to her girls, who giggled and ran towards their bedroom. "Skywalkers, indeed."

So, Ines and Luke did meet in Anchorhead when they were 11 years old. And Luke is about to tell his part of the story. And Anakin finally appear.
