Chapter 24 – The first meeting

The family was all gathered around the table at dinner time. Anakin and Ben force ghosts were there too, just like they promised to the kids.

Padmé looked at them.

"I'm sorry you can't eat. Aren't you hungry?" the little girl asked, putting a chip inside her mouth, which made Anakin and Ben laughed at her.

"Well when you become a force ghost, you don't feel hungry anymore," Anakin explained to his granddaughter.

"I don't want that. I like to eat," Alli said with her mouth full, getting a look from her mother.

"Alli, what mama and papa said to you? Never talk with your mouth full," she said to her.

Swallowing the food, she little girl smiled at her.

"Sorry, mama," she said giggling. "But I like food."

"You like your favorite food, that's different, young lady," Luke winked at her, making Alli giggling even more. "Your twin, on the other hand, eats almost everything."

"Just like her cousin Bail," Anakin said. "Boy, I never saw a 4 years old kid eat that much," he laughed thinking of his grandson.

"He is 4, he won't stay still, running every single time, so of course he is hungry after spending so much energy." Obi Wan said.

"It reminds me of someone," Ben said looking at his sisters.

"I have to say I miss those two," Luke replied. "Maybe we can call Leia and Han and bring the kids here. They never were in my farm before?" he asked to Ines.

"No. I was the only one here s far, even in Anchorhead I believe when I came with my father. But we don't have space for them to sleep."

"They can sleep in the Falcon," Luke said right away. "I will call them tomorrow. Besides I think Han needs to have a talk with Boba."

Ines looked at her husband and frown.

"I don't know if it will be a pretty conversation."

"Din said Boba is a different man. After all he helped him with Grogu. I think it is time to put the past behind their back and talk like two adults. Besides I will be there with Din."

"You are right, son." Anakin said. "People change."

Everyone looked at him.

"Yeah, grandpa was bad, but now is a good boy," Alli said making Anakin shake his head but couldn't help but laughing at his granddaughter.

"But, speaking of being here, what is that story of you bumping into my uncle!" Luke said, picking his baby son from his meal chair, since the baby was already started to get upset to be sit down in one place.

Looking at him, Luke grabbed a chip and gave to his baby, who smile happy, as he grabbed it with his little right hand and put his mouth, drooling all over it and his hand, as he focus on it, and started to smash it with his both hands.

"You are so cute," Luke said to his son, kissing his forehead, getting a smile from his baby.

"Dada!" he said.

"Yes, I am your dada," he said, as Anakin watched the moment between his son and his youngest grandson.

Ines glare at her father in law and smiled. She knew what he was thinking.

"It was not your fault, dad," she said, making Anakin look at her.

"Thank you, but I couldn't help to wonder what if I had done the right thing, when Master Windu asked me too?"

"Well that is something we can only ask to ourselves. But at least you are here with us. My kids can see their grandfather and you can watch them grown, even being a force ghost, and I prefer that, than not have the grandfather of my children in any shape or form." she said making Anakin looking at Obi Wan.

"No wonder the force chooser her to be my daughter in law," he said making Obi Wan nod.

"The force knows what to do," he replied back.

"Mom tell us," Ben asked again, making Ines smile.

"Alright, alright," she started. "Well, it was a year after your aunt and I saw your godfather in Alderaan, and your grandfather Ken had to do something for Bail, but first he asked him to pass by on Tatooine and talk to Ben."

"And how did you know that?" Luke asked her.

"Well I maybe was passing by and heard the conversation," she said looking around.

"You mean, you were eavesdropping, as usual, right?" he laughed making the baby imitate his father and laughed too.

"Mom did you hid inside grandpa ship?" Ben asked with wide eyes.

"Possible. Maybe. Yes." she said with a smile.

"You are big trouble young lady," Padmé said pointing the finger at her mother, making everyone laugh at the 4 years old.

"Excuse me?" Ines said. "Who do you think you are talking too, young lady?"

"Like mother, like daughter," Obi Wan said with a smile. "I just had a dejá vú right now."

"Let me guess, you were able to sneak behind your father's back and when they found out you were gone, it was too late," Anakin asked but he couldn't help to have a big smile on his face.

"Well I learned with the best, your sweet daughter," Ines laughed. "But yes, it was already too late and he had to take me with him. So we land on Tatooine and went to Anchorhead, where apparently my father and Ben had already plan to meet each other in a hiding place." she started to tell them.

Flashback

Tatooine, Anchorhead 8 BBY

An 11 years old Ines, was walking next to her father, looking around, shocking how people in Tatooine lived so differently from Alderaan. She already had being in different planets before.

A year ago, when she and Leia was taken by some kidnappers, she had seeing differently planets, but Tatooine looked like anything she had seeing before.

"You know that when we get to Alderaan, you will be grounded, right?" the voice of her father made her looked up at him.

"I know," she replied, clearly showing she didn't care. The fact she was there and was about to see Ben again, was worthy.

Passing by a line of people, she noticed they were waiting for something.

"Father, are those people in line for water?" she asked a little shocked by that.

Ken Talia, looked at the line of people and looking back to his daughter he nod.

"Yes, you will see that not everyone lives in a place where they can have everything they want on the table, like us in Alderaan. Here this is the only place that people can have a glass of water. That is why moisture farms are so important, cause they can create water and sell to this sealers."

Ines looked at a mother giving the glass of water to her baby daughter.

"That is sad and not fair," she said looking up. "Why the Empire don't help these people?"

"Because they are not profitable to them."

"You mean poor, right?" she asked, making Ken smiled and stroke her cheek. Looking to the people walking around, some coming from work, others just buying things they needed, he knew that his future son in law lived in this environment and deep inside he wished the boy could be raised in Alderaan.

"Where is he?" he heard his daughter asking, and looking down he gasped.

"Who?"

"Ben," she replied, making Ken sighed in relieve. For a moment he was afraid that she had read his thoughts.

"Well we need to find out the place he told me to wait for him. Come on," he told her, and grabbing her hand, they walked to a place where it seemed it was a place for animals would be tied.

Present Day, Tatooine.

"And when Ben arrived, he was not really surprise to see me," Ines said looking at him.

"Because I knew we would see each other again. I told you the last time in Alderaan, remember?"

"You were talking about that? Now makes sense," she said making Ben laughed.

"You just remind me that 10/11 years old girl again."

"But how did you bump into my uncle?"

Ines looked at her husband.

"Well, because as usual, I didn't listen my father that told me not to leave his sight. But you know that means the opposite. Actually reminds me of a certain two young girls that I know," she said looking at her twins who giggled at their mother.

"They have to much of their mother in them," Anakin said laughing.

"They had to have something from me, cause they looked to much like their father from the outside," she winked at them, making the two girls laughing.

"So what happened?" Luke asked her.

"Well, Ben and my father was talking and I was looking at the streets, and I was fascinated by the different creatures that I never saw in Alderaan, and how they dress and talk, so seeing they were too busy, I just thought to give a look. I was not planning to go that far." she started.

Flashback

Tatooine, Anchorhead 8 BBY

Ines was looking at the many different people walking around. She was fascinated by them. Looking at her father and Ben talking, she thought that she could just walked near by. There were stands selling cool stuff, things that she never saw before.

She was so surprise to everything around her, that she was not paying attention to where she was going, when all of the sudden she bumped into someone. Gasping, she looked up and saw a man, closer to her father's age, looking at her, holding her so she wouldn't fall backwards.

"Oh, I'm sorry," she said right away to him.

The man looked at her.

"Are you okay?" he asked, making Ines nod at him. "You need to be more careful, you know."

"I know. I'm sorry."

Then she heard her father's voice. She knew she was in trouble right away.

When Ken reached her, he looked at his daughter.

"Ines, what did I tell you? Do not leave my sight, do you understand?"

"I'm sorry father. But I was just looking around, there are so much cool stuff that we don't see at Alderaan." she told him.

"Wait, did you say Ines?" the man asked, making them looked at him.

Ken looked at him and right there he had a feeling who he was, especially, when a woman approached them, holding a young boy's hand.

"Owen, we are ready?" she said.

"Owen!" Ken repeated and his eyes went directly to the blond hair and blue eye boy. "Luke," he thought right away and looking at the kids, his heart started to beat fast and he looked back to his daughter. Future husband and wife were inches from each other.

Ken saw Luke for the first time since his birth. And Ines and Luke are in front of each other without knowing who they are. What do you think it will happen?
