Chapter 28 – Rescue
Ines was looking at Luke, while he entered in their bedroom and grabbing his lightsaber, he put it on his belt.
The moment he knew where his daughters and nephews went, he and Han entered inside the moisture farm, along with Chewie to get their guns and put the speeder out of the garage, so they could go to the canyon and find the kids.
"Babe, are you sure they went to the same canyon you went back then?" she asked adjusting her baby in her arms who had fall asleep.
Luke stood up and look at her.
"I'm positive. She kept talking about that and yesterday, when we were waiting for Leia and Han to arrive, she asked me again," he replied. "I wanted to ask her why, but our family arrived right away, and I forgot about it."
Ines nod, and then she also remembered something.
"In fact, the kids acted pretty weird. Like when I called them to come to eat, they were whispering in the corner. But I didn't think of about it. You know kids."
"That gives me more certain they went there," he said, while he walked out of the bedroom, and entered in the patio, while Han and Chewie came into his direction.
"We are ready, kid," Han said followed by a growl from Chewie.
"Why can I go with you guys?" Leia told looking at her husband and her twin brother. Ines sighed. She too wanted to go with the guys, but she needed helped in the farm and she couldn't leave Ben and Luke.
"You better stay here, sweetheart," Han said approaching her and stroking her left cheek gently.
"Han is right, Leia," Luke nod. "You and Ines need to be here, in case they appeared out of nowhere."
"I need your help here too," Ines said looking at her sister in law, who knew they were right.
Sighing, Leia nod.
"I understand. Just bring our babies back, safely."
"We will, we promise." Han said to her kissing her gently on the lips.
"Don't worry, mistress Leia. R2 and I are sure they are fine. They are strong kids." 3PO said making Leia and Ines smiled at the golden droid.
"Thanks for your words," Leia replied tapping his shoulder.
"Be careful all of you too," Ines said, after Luke kissing her on the lips too.
Following them outside, the women, alongside the two droids and Ben, they watched them get inside the speeder and head to the canyon, hoping they would reach the kids in time and nothing bad had happened to them.
In the canyon:
After running through places and roads inside the canyon, the four kids end up facing a big wall of rock in front of them.
"Oh no." Padmé said looking at her sister and cousins "Now what?"
"We need to go the other way," Alli replied, but when the kids were about to turn back and run away the other direction, they saw a shadow of a creature in the distance. They could see it stop and like sniffing the air, like it was smelling them.
Walking back inside the place where they came from, they press their backs against the big wall rock.
"Maybe we can climb it?" Bail asked looking up, but they knew it was impossible. They were trap.
In the distance they could hear the creature approaching, making the kids, get closer towards each other.
"I want mama," Padmé started crying.
"Me too," Bail said right away.
"If you had listen to me, we would be here in the first place," Anakin said.
The kids stayed quiet for a while, hoping the creature had gone the other way, and with that they could leave that place.
"Maybe it is gone?" Alli asked after a few minutes.
"Then why don't you go see?" Bail replied looking at his cousin.
"And why won't you go?" she replied back.
"I'm not going cause I'm not crazy," the four years old replied back.
"But how we will find out if the creature is still there?" Padmé asked this time.
Looking at them, Anakin sighed.
"I'll go," he said and slowly he started to walked towards the edge of the dead end, and peak trying to see if the creature was still there. He was about to looked back when all of the sudden, a four leg creature, with big teeth appeared, making the kids scream and Anakin ran away towards them.
The girls started to cry and even Bail was shaking.
Little by little that ugly and mean creature approached the four kids. While her cousins and his twin brother were crying, Anakin was also very scared but he knew he had to try to do something.
Taking a deep breath, the 4 years old kid started to step forward the creature.
"Ani what are you doing?" his twin asked.
Not answering, Anakin raise his right hand and closing his eyes, he started to trying to send a message to the creature, trying to calm it down. Opening his blue eyes, he saw the creature acting like it was confuse.
"It is okay," he said in his mind as he was approaching little by little, his right hand getting closer and closer to it.
He sensed the creature was calming down, and the other kids also notice that.
Looking into the creature eyes, little Ani's hand touched it and for the surprise of the others, the four leg creature didn't attack him, but let the kid stroking him, making Ani smile proudly at it. Somehow he knew he could do it and control that ugly creature with the force and he in fact did it.
"How did you do that?" Bail asked him.
He was about to answer, when they heard voices screaming their names. With that sudden noise, the once calm four leg creature reacted and as it was about to jump towards Anakin, making the kid fall on his back, a green light appeared and in seconds it was cut in half.
Looking up from the ground he smiled seeing his uncle with his green lightsaber illuminating the place.
The minute they saw him, the girls screamed
"PAPA!" and ran towards Luke, while he put his lightsaber away and crouching he hug his little girls tight in his arms.
"Bail, Anakin!" Han said seeing his two sons.
"PAPA!" Bail said and ran towards him, while Han pull Ani from the ground and hug them too, while Chewie kept looking around with his crossbow ready to fire if he saw any other creatures around.
Pulling apart, Luke looked at his daughters.
"Are you okay?" he asked him, making the girls nod.
Sighing in relieve, he stood up and looked at the cut in half creature.
"What is that?" Han asked too.
"Womp rat," he answered and looked back to the kids. "You were lucky we arrive in time."
"Papa, Ani touched it," Padmé said making Luke frown at that.
"What do you mean touch it?"
"He kind of control it or something." Alli replied too, making Luke look at his nephew.
"What?" Han asked. "Did he do something with the force?"
"Yes, but I never saw a four year old doing it before." Luke said and looking at his nephew he smiled at him and ran his fingers through the four years old blond hair. "Very good Anakin."
Anakin smiled proudly.
"I think it is time to get home and trust me, you four will be grounded for life," Han said making the kids looking at each other.
"I told them not to come," Anakin replied.
"Well lets leave the story once we get home, your mothers are super worried," Luke said
"And I bet not happy, either," Alli said looking at her father.
"You got that right young lady," he said and grabbing the kids hand, they all head out of the canyon and to the landspeeder.
Finally the kids are save and Anakin was able to do the same thing his grandfather did years before in Geonosis, controlling a creature with the force.
