Chapter 45 – Family Morning
Ines woke up in Luke's arms. She looked at the time and it was right after 6 am. Looking at the window of their bedroom, she noticed it was still dark and it was still raining.
Glaring at Luke, she smile, seeing that he was still sleeping, thinking that he must be very tired after the fun night they had.
She was ready to snuggled even more in his arms, since it was a cold, when she heard some noises from the baby monitor, knowing right away who was doing those noises, after all it was 6 am, and normally that was the time their baby used to wake up for a diapers change and a bottle, before went back to sleep until 9am.
Trying to free herself from Luke, he opened his eyes.
"Where are you going? Stay here with me," he said in a sleepy voice, pulling her closer to her, making her giggled.
"I want to be here, but someone is awake and wondering where is his mama with his morning meal," she replied kissing Luke's lips.
Sighing, he let her go, because he knew that if she didn't go right away, soon their baby would started to cry.
Getting up and putting the robe, Ines had to the bathroom first, before going to their son's. After the "busy" night they had, Luke and Ines decided they should put their pajamas, and unlock the door of the bedroom, because they knew sometimes the twins liked to run to theirs after waking up, and the last thing they want was being naked under the sheets.
The moment she entered the bedroom, she looked at R2 who looked at her.
"Hey buddy," she said stroking the little droid. She adore R2 and she couldn't trust another droid to watch her kids.
Walking towards the crib, she couldn't help but to smile when she saw her baby, smiling at her the moment he saw her.
"Hey," she whispered, not wanted to wake up her older son. "Already awake, right."
Picking him up, she kissed his chubby cheeks she loved so much.
"I think someone needs a diaper change and then get his meal so you can go to sleep until 9am, right?" she giggled, and kissing his forehead, she had to the changing room, looking at her Ben, who was still fast asleep.
15 minutes later, she was sitting on one of the kitchen chairs, with the baby on her lap, grabbing the bottle, while he was sucking on it.
"You were really hungry, right sweetie?" she asked, laughing a little when Luke looked at her, but didn't stop sucking having his mother delicious milk.
A few weeks ago, Ines decided to stopped breastfeeding, but since she still had enough milk, she pumped twice a day, so her baby would continue to have his meal in the morning and at night, since he was already eating solid food.
Looking down she couldn't help but smile seeing her baby's eyes started to close, which indicated his stomach was already full.
Taken the bottle slowly from his little hands, trying not to wake him up. Putting the bottle on the kitchen bench, she walked towards the boys bedroom, and slowly put the baby on his crib, covering him up.
Before leaving, she made sure to see if Ben was well covered, doing the same with the girls, before she head back to her bedroom.
The past days it was very cold over Coruscant, and the news warned that the cold weather would continue, indicating it would be a cold winter.
Put the robe aside, she got under covers, smiling when Luke wrapped his right arms around her immediately, pulling her closer to him.
"It is so cold. I'm glad we put extra blankets on the beds cause it is very cold," she said snuggling more into Luke.
"Well at least we can make some night activities to get us warm, like we did hours ago," he giggled.
"But then we shiver with cold and we had to put our warm pajamas back," she replied laughing.
"Well I'm glad that for the past two days there will not be any classes, so we can be in bed for a little longer."
"Well, you know that pretty soon, two girls will wake up and run towards here, don't you?" she asked him.
They knew if the girls were the first to wake up they would run to their parents bedroom and get between them.
"I know, so lets enjoy being like this while we can. It is still early and it is cold," he said closing his eyes trying to get back to sleep.
1 hour later
Just like Ines had said, around 7 am, they started to hear noise outside the bedroom door, and all of the sudden, they heard the door open and someone running inside the bedroom and get on to the bed.
Opening his eyes, Luke couldn't help to shake his head and laughed a little when he saw his twin girls on the bed, trying to separate their parents, who were still in each others arms.
"What are you doing here, at this hour and with this cold?" he asked them, knowing their answer.
"We want to lay between you," Padmé said.
"Move, Papa. We are cold," Alli replied trying to make Luke letting go Ines.
"Then go to your bed and you will not be cold anymore, young ladies."
"No, we want to lay here," she replied back.
"Let go our mama," Padmé said, making Ines laughed when the girls were trying to make Luke letting her go.
"No, I wont. I like to have mama in my arms."
"She's ours," Alli said with a frown.
"I met her first you know," Luke replied.
"We were inside mama," Padmé answered him, making Ines looked at her husband with wide eyes, and shaking her head warning him to no replied back at that, which made Luke laughed at it.
"Papa," Alli pouted.
Knowing that the girls wouldn't stop, and know it was very cold, he let go Ines and pulling the covers aside, he allowed the girls to get between them, which deep inside he didn't mind, and he knew Ines didn't mind either.
Smiling and snuggling between their parents, the girls smiled when Luke covered the four of them with the warm covers.
"It is cold," Alli said looking at Luke and snuggling into her father's warm body.
"I know, that is why you shouldn't left your bed," he told, kissing her forehead.
"But we like to be here in the morning," she said.
Holding their daughters closer to them, they couldn't help but love these moments.
"Mama, Papa, did you bring something for us from the party?" Padmé asked after a while.
"Like what?" Ines asked her.
"A sweet," Alli replied right away.
"No we didn't. But you don't need to be sad cause in 2 weeks it is your older brother birthday, and there will be sweets in there," she said with a smile.
"Like chocolate cake?" the little girl asked right away.
"Yes, there will be chocolate cake."
"Aww, I don't like chocolate," Padmé pouted right away.
"Don't worry sweetie, mama and I will make sure there will be other sweets without chocolate," Luke said right away, running his right hand on her hair.
"Besides I promise your brother's birthday cake will have no chocolate, so you can eat it too." Ines assure her, which made the little girl happy.
"Now, since it is early, how about we get some sleep for a little longer?" Luke suggested.
"And then what?" Alli asked him.
"If we sleep for a little longer, after lunch we will see your cousin Anakin, how about that?" he asked them.
"Okay," they said at the same time, and turning to face each other, after a few minutes the two girls were asleep, feeling warm in their parents bed.
Looking at each other, Luke and Ines couldn't help to smile too, and holding their girls, they close their eyes, trying to get some sleep for the next few hours.
