Chapter 51 – From Father to Son
After everyone talk and Rex told everyone what he and his brothers were doing, the adults decided that it was time to get home, especially because it was bath time for the kids.
Ines was in the hallway, having his baby son on her arms, watching the twins running around with their cousins, laughing as they watch Grogu jump from couch to couch, when she felt an arm around her waist.
"Ready to go home?" he asked her, and looking at his baby son he kissed his little forehead.
"Yes, it is bath time. Will you give it Ben tonight?"
"Yes. It is his right and it is time," he said looking to his son, who was talking to Rex about the series he loved about the clone wars.
"You know he will be so happy and excited."
"I know, but he is our first born and he is the rightful owner of it. This one," he said looking at his green one. "It will be for this little guy someday, right?" he asked when the baby pointed the finger at him and called him Dada.
"Luke Skywalkers," Ines replied laughing, while Luke lean forward and kissed her forehead.
Without notice that, they were being watched by Rex, who was watching them for a while, when he heard a voice coming from behind.
"You will get used to those two being like that."
Looking at his right he saw Ahsoka approaching him.
"I noticed that," he said looking back at Luke who right now was running his left hand through Ines's long hair. "Their love is different, pure. I'm not saying that the other couples don't love each other very much, but I can't explain about them."
"Well that is because those two were meant to be together the moment they were in their mothers womb," she explained looking at him. "You can't go against the force will. Those two would love each other forever. They can't live without each other. Their love give them strength."
As everyone started to leave to their homes, Luke and Ines approached the others.
"Well we are going home. It is time for the bath, and Rex you can stay here. Din and Bo will be here too because there is a storm approaching Coruscant and everything will be lock down," Ines informed Rex.
"We saw the news and the commotion. And thank you, but I will go to my brothers tonight and explain to them what is going on."
"But all of you can be here tomorrow, right dad?" Ben asked.
"I think you have a fan," Luke laughed. "But yes if you want you can move tomorrow. The kids will love to hear some of your stories. Like my wife said, Bo and Din will be here. Aurea and Noah also live here, so it will not be only kids."
"Sure, that would be nice. So I better go and see you tomorrow then," Rex said to others, while Luke and Ines were also ready to go.
"We are going too, right kids?" Ines asked.
"Aunt Ines, can I take some of the food with me so I can eat at home when I'm hungry?"
"Bail Solo, don't you think you already ate enough?" Leia asked her son. "I don't know where he puts so much food in this tiny body."
"I'm growing mama, I need food," Bail said which made Bo laughed at that.
"He is not wrong." she said running her hand on the boys brown hair.
"See, Bo understand."
Leia sighed but she couldn't help to smile at him.
"Bail, yes you can take some of food. Go ask Aurea to put some in the boxes for you," Ines replied to her nephew, who run right away towards the kitchen.
"I think I will supervise or he will take all the food. Bye guys," Leia said following her son right away.
"Well we are going too, right kiddo?" Luke said to Alli, who looked at him.
"Will Grogu come with us today?"
Luke looked at Din and then back to the his daughter.
"How about we let Grogu spend this night with Uncle Din, so he can see where he is staying and we take Grogu back tomorrow?"
The little girl looked at her father and then to Grogu. Din knew what she was felling and made sure to calm down the little girl.
"Tomorrow he will be with you. I promise."
"Yes. Papa needs to come here to check out before we lock down everything and Grogu will come home. You can come with Papa if you want."
Thinking for a minute, the little nod.
"Okay. See you tomorrow, Grogu," she said waving, laughing when Grogu waved back at her.
"See you guys tomorrow and feel at home," Ines said hugging Din and Bo, who got surprise by this.
When the left, Din looked at Bo.
"They are good people as you see."
"Yes I do," she replied and they went inside, where Aurea show the bedrooms they would stay.
At the Skywalker apartment:
When they arrived at the apartment, Luke and Ines already had decided that Ben would take his bath first, so Luke could have that moment alone with him while Ines would give the bath to the girls and the baby.
So after 30 minutes, Ben had his pajamas and his robe on, with his wet brown hair comb, when he appeared in the living room with Luke behind him, caring a silver box.
The moment they entered Luke looked at Ines and she knew exactly what to do. Looking at their girls, she picked the baby from the little blanket and smiled at them.
"Come girls, time for the bath. The three of you, okay. Lets leave papa and your brother alone for a while," she said and the girls nod and they all went inside.
Winking at her husband, Ines followed them, leaving them alone.
Sitting on the couch, Luke looked at his now 6 years old boy. Since he was a baby he was a mix of him and Ines, and he loved that. He loved him way before he was born and now it was time to show him that.
"Sweetie, come sit here next to me." he said, tapping the couch.
Sitting next to his father, Ben smiled when Luke ran his left hand through his wet hair.
"What is it dad?"
"Buddy, I want to tell you something before I give you something very special."
"Okay," the boy said.
"When I was your age, you know I never had met parents. I had my uncle and aunt that were like parents to me. Also I never knew if I ever would be one too."
"Why? Didn't you want to have kids with mom?"
Luke couldn't help but chuckle at that.
"I didn't know your mother at the time, and there wasn't many girls back in Tatooine. And I didn't know if I want to have kids in that planet with so much danger and no conditions."
"Not even when you dream with mom like you said?"
"I didn't know if I would ever meet your mother, even if I knew she was real."
"But you two met after all," Ben smiled.
"Yes we did, and I feel in love with her right there. Even if it took me a while to admit and tell her that," he looked at his son.
"Why? If I ever like a girl I will tell her. She can be the one, right?"
"Right and you do that. Don't be stupid like me," he laughed.
"Got it," he said thumbs up to Luke. "But why didn't you tell you loved her?"
"Because I was afraid that she didn't feel the same."
"Why you thought that?"
Luke sighed at that question.
"Well your mother, in a way, lived a very different life than me and I thought she would not be in love with a farmer boy from Tatooine, cause that was I was."
Ben frown at his father.
"Dad, you know mom don't care about that."
"Yes, I know, but that doesn't mean I was not scare that she didn't love me back."
"But she did," Ben smiled at him.
"Yes she did, and we started dating and because of that, we made you, even if I knew that you would exist in our lives, when I was training with Master Yoda in Dagobah when I had a vision and saw the future and I saw you, in your mothers arms right after you were born and I couldn't wait to meet you for real."
"You were happy when you found out?"
"That I would be your father?"
Ben nod at him.
"Of course I was. I was very happy, especially when your mother told me you were already growing inside her."
"Really?"
"Of course. So when I got this years ago I decided that it would be yours, cause you are my first born. And I hope that when you become a father you will pass to your first born, and so on."
Looking at the box, Ben looked back at his father.
"What is it?"
Grabbing the box, Luke passed it to his son.
"Well opened it?"
Holding the box, Ben opened and the moment he did, he gasped. Looking at his father with wide eyes, he grabbed the lightsaber that belonged to his father and before that to his grandfather and looked at Luke.
"May I turn on?"
"Be careful. Let me help you," and holding him closer, he let Ben ignite the lightsaber and the blue blade appeared.
"This is cool," Ben said and after a while, Luke turn off the lightsaber.
"Do you like it?"
"Yes. It is mine, for real?"
"Of course it is yours. Until you decided to build your own and give this to your first child."
Ben looked at it and then to Luke and Luke got scared when he saw his son's eyes filled with tears.
"Hey, what is it?" He asked pulling the boy towards him and made him stand in front of him. "Is everything okay?"
Ben nod.
"I'm just so happy right now," the little boy said with tears rolling down his cheeks.
"Aww sweetie," and Luke pulled his son into his arms, hugging him tightly and he couldn't help to cry too. After a while he made Ben look at him, and wiping his son's tears, he also wipe his. "Ben, I know that lately me and your mother are very busy about your sister."
"I know dad," the boy said scratching his eyes.
"But, I want you to look at me right now and listen what I have to say. I love you. I love you so much my son. You are the most perfect thing I ever made in my life, alongside with your siblings. You are part of me. You taught me how to be a father, you made me a father and I can't never thank you enough for that. Thank you for choosing me to be your dad. I am lucky to call you my son."
Ben smiled and wrapped his arms around Luke's arms.
"I love you dad. You are my hero," he said making Luke smiled at that. Pulling apart, Ben smiled. "I promise I will take care of this and I will protect my sisters cause I love them."
"I know you do. Your sister will be the ruler of the galaxy but you will get my Academy and continue my legacy in the Jedi Order." Luke said.
That moment Ines entered with the girls and the baby, already with their bath taken. Seeing the lightsaber in her sons hands, she looked at girls.
"Girls, look what Papa just gave to your brother."
Alli and Padmé reached their brother and gasped when they saw the lightsaber.
"Wow!" the girls said at the same time.
"Congratulate your brother for it," Ines said sitting down next to Luke.
"Congrats Ben," the girl said hugging their older brother, who hugged them back.
"Thank you, and I know sometimes you get on my nerves, but I love you two and I promise as your big brother, nobody will ever hurt you cause you are my little sisters and I will always protect you forever."
"We love you Ben, you're the best big brother ever," the girls said hugging him again while Ben kissed the top of his sisters heads, making Ines looked at Luke and made everything to not cry at that moment.
Looking at his kids, Luke smiled. Yes he had the family he always wanted right there and he wouldn't change that for anything.
