Chapter 53 – Very Bad Feeling
It was around 4 in the afternoon, and after taken a nice nap with his wife, and checking if she didn't have any fever, Luke went to his youngest son bedroom, smiling when he saw the baby already awake, smiling the moment he saw his father, picking him up.
And at the moment they were in the kitchen, where Luke jr was sitting in his meal chair, eating his fruit puree, playing at the same time with his toy, a replica of his father's green lightsaber, that Leia saw in one shop and decided to buy it. The toy light up green and even made the sounds of a real lightsaber, which made her baby nephew very happy.
Opening his mouth to the spoon, the baby kept playing with his toy.
"You really love that, don't you?" Luke asked, when his son looked at him and smile, showing the bottom tooth that started to come out a few weeks ago. "Yes you do. When you get much older, you will get the real one."
Pressing the button, the toy light up green making the baby laugh and started to shake it up and down, making Luke laugh.
"Be careful with that sweetie," he said.
"Hello, anybody," they heard a few minutes.
"In the kitchen," Luke replied, nodding when Leia appeared.
"Hey, look at that mouth all dirty," she said smiling and kissing her nephew's forehead, who showed her the toy and started babbling. "I see that. You gave that toy?"
Luke looked at her and babbling more he pointed at his aunt, making her laugh.
"That is right? Me. Auntie Leia," she said and grabbing a chair she sat down, near Luke. "How is Ines?"
"A little better. She had a little fever during the night, but not that high, and so far it didn't return."
"That's good."
"Yes," Luke nod, giving another spoon to his son. "But she still feel a little weak, and not with energy, so we decided that for the next days she can stay in bed, resting. Besides with this awful weather, that it will get worse, it is for the best."
They both look at the kitchen windows, where they could see the first drops of rain hitting the glass, and they could hear the wind picking up too.
"And they say it will get worse starting this night. I can't imagine."
"Me neither. So how are the kids?"
"They are fine. They spent the day playing and having fun and they continue to do that."
Luke frown at that.
"And you left Han alone with them? I bet he is going insane."
Leia couldn't help but laugh at that.
"Come on Luke. Like you don't know your own brother in law. He is the worst of them all," she said making Luke laugh at that. He knew his sister was right. Han had the look that he was upset all the time, but when the subject was the kids, he acted like the biggest of them all.
After baby Luke finished his meal, Luke and Leia decided to go to the living room and laying the baby on his blanket, they sat down on top of the fluffy carpet, to keep watching the baby closer.
Sensing her brother was very serious for a while, Leia knew something was bothering him.
"What is going on? You look serious. Is everything okay with Ines for real?" she asked him, making Luke glare at her.
"Everything is fine with Ines."
"But something is bothering you. What is it?"
Looking at his baby son, who was focus on his toys that were on his blanket, Luke sighed and looked back at Leia.
"Leia, do you remember, back in the day when we were in the Rebel Cruiser and we were all planning the attack on the second Death Star?"
"You mean the information that the Bothans gave to us and the meetings with Mon Mothma and General Madine?" She asked him.
"Exactly. Do you remember those meetings?"
"How can I forget. I couldn't stand them any longer." Leia replied rolling her eyes, remembering those long and repetitive meetings where General Madine kept saying the same thing over and over again and all what she had in mind was rescue Han from Jabba's Palace first.
"Do you remember what Ines kept saying to Madine about how the Empire and the Emperor was so quiet about that, even if many Bothans died to bring us the information they brought?" Luke continue asking her.
Little by little Leia was getting what her twin brother was trying to say.
"Of course. She thought very weird the silence of the Empire, especially when 4 year earlier they did everything from stopping us to get the plans from R2 about the first Death Star. And to be honest I agreed with her, but General Madine thought it was nonsense."
"I agreed with her too and turns out she was right in the end."
"Okay, but you didn't explained to me why are you so serious right now?"
"Because Thrawn is also very quiet. And we are parents and even if we can't compare the two, but we both know when our kids are very quite for so long, it means they are up to no good." Luke said checking his baby making sure he didn't crawled far away from them.
"And you think this silence from Thrawn means he is up to something?"
Luke nod.
"But Luke we are pretty sure he is gathering some allies, like we are doing right now. Maybe that is the reason we don't have news from him lately."
"I know, but I have a bad feeling about this Leia. And this storm that made Coruscant being in lock down for the next 4 days, is not helping either."
"Why? Do you think he will try to do something during these days?" Leia asked worried.
"Honestly I would if I was him. Come on, what better timing to do something bad when the Capital can't get its ship out of the planet because of a storm."
Leia nod. Luke was right. And if she was Thrawn she would do the same thing too.
"But what he can do? Attack Coruscant?"
"I don't think we are in dangerous but some other systems may be."
"Damn it. We need to talk about that in Senate."
"Let's hope it is not too late," Luke said.
After a while, they heard the front door beeped and Alli appeared with Grogu by her side and of course R2 right behind them, following them as usual.
"Sweetie what are you doing here?" Luke asked surprised to see one of his twin girls there. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah," she said approaching her father and aunt. "I need to poop."
Luke couldn't help but chuckle at that statement. Of course his daughter was there at the moment if that was the case.
"Sweetie why you didn't do in auntie Leia's home?" Leia asked her niece who shook her head right away.
"No. I need to poop here." the little girl replied.
"You see Leia, your niece, apart from the bathroom in the Temple, when the subject is pooping, she can only do in her home bathroom. It is a habit she has since she stopped using diapers." he informed his sister.
"Besides I want to check mama."
Luke glare and Leia.
"Got it now too?"
Chucking Leia nod, at the same time Luke stood up and let his baby son with his sister, he help Alli going to the Bathroom and sat her on the toilet and waited outside until she was done.
After helping her cleaning her and helping her washing her hands by raising her with the force, something the kids loved every time he done that, she got out of the bathroom and looked at him.
"Can I see mama now?" she asked him.
"Mama is sleeping so don't make noise okay?"
Nodding and looking at Grogu, the two went to the bedroom, while Luke went back to the living room.
After a while return with Grogu.
"So?" Luke asked her.
"She is sleeping. She looks better."
"Because she is. Will you stay here with Papa and your baby brother or you want to get back to auntie Leia home?"
"I want to get back. Uncle Han is funny."
"What a surprise," Leia said standing up. "Let the kids have dinner with us, we have home made pizza made by uncle Han."
"Yaya," Alli said clapping her hands happy.
"Okay, but after dinner send them back. R2 make sure they will come home," Luke said, making the droid beep.
"Then let's go. See you later," Leia said. "Come on sweeties."
And leaving with the kids and R2, Leia left leaving Luke with his baby.
"How about us?" he asked laughing when the baby babble at him and handling a toy, Luke lay down and played with his son.
