Chapter 60 – Padmé and Anakin
Ines rolled on her back and stretched herself, before she looked to her left and smiled when she saw her twin girls sleeping. As usual, every time Luke had to leave for some mission, the girls always sneak to her bed in the middle of the night and she couldn't do anything about it.
Rolling on her right, she ran her left hand on their daughters now long blonde hair.
"Come on sleepyheads, it is time to wake up cause we need to go to the Temple," she said kissing the girls forehead.
Opening their eyes, the girls rolled on their back and stretched just like their mother did minutes ago.
Looking a the window and seeing the blue sky, the girls looked back at their mother.
"Papa will arrive today," Alli said smiling.
"Yes he will. He will arrive later in the afternoon, so that means we need to get up, get dress, eat breakfast, brush our teeth so we can do the Temple."
"Are we going to lunch there?" Padmé asked.
"Of course. Auntie Leia will have lunch with us alongside with your cousins Ani and Bail."
"What about Iris?" Alli asked her mother.
"Your cousin have lunch in her school, like always. But she will be in Temple in time for us to go to hangar and wait for Papa," she said. "So come on, get up cause I still have to take of your baby brother."
And with a smile, Ines got up from bed and head to her boys bedroom.
Today was a nice day, cause after 6 days of traveling, Luke and the others would arrive to Coruscant late that afternoon and she couldn't wait to huh her husband again. She always missed him every time he was not around, and she also knew her kids missed their father too very much, and she knew they missed R2, since this time the little family droid went with Luke.
After they got the information that R2 got from Kamino, they called them in Coruscant and revealed what they had learn, which didn't help the concern when Leia told Mon Mothma about it. All they need was to wait for them to arrive and figure it out what their next step would be.
Later that day:
The day has passed slowly and at the moment Ines decided to spend the last hour to give a history lesson to the new students about the Battle of Yavin.
It was around 4pm, and after having lunch with them, Leia went back to the Senate with Amidala, while the twins stayed in the Temple, playing hide and seek with their cousins, which was what they were doing, while Ben and Luke, Jr were in the kitchen with Aurea and Noa, eating their yogurt.
While Bail was counting down, Padmé and Ani decided to hid themselves at the entrance of the Temple, behind the Statues of their grandpa.
"Don't make noise," Anakin said to Padmé, while the 4 years old kids giggled in their hiding place.
While they were hearing Bail still counting, they heard a voice behind them.
"Hey."
Looking behind them, they saw Vina smiling at them.
"Don't make noise, we are hiding," Padmé said pulling Vina's arm, making her crouch behind the statue.
"Oh sorry," she whispered.
"What are you doing here?" Ani asked her.
"Well actually I'm here because I have something for you from Dex, and maybe you can help me bring back?" she said looking at Padmé.
"Like what?" the little girl asked.
"It is surprise for your Papa when he arrives. Do you want to help me get it?" she said holding Padmé's hand.
"We are playing, and Mama and Papa said not to go with strangers," Ani replied making Vina looked at the 4 years old boy with a harsh look.
"You know me, I'm not a stranger. But if you don't want to make a surprise to your Papa, it is fine. Dex will be sad when he finds out," she said pretending to started to walk down the stairs. "Besides if you go with me, it will be more difficult for them to find you."
Padmé looked at Ani and then to Vina.
"It will me quick, right?" she asked her.
"My speeder is right on this corner. It will be very quick. Your mama will not even know."
"Come on Ani," Padmé said grabbing her cousin's hand as the two kids started to follow Vina, who froze.
"I was asking for your help only Padmé."
"Ani can help too, since Uncle Han is away, so he will get a surprise too, right?"
Vina looked at Anakin and then to the watch.
"Okay then," she said and grabbing the kids hands, they walked down the stairs in a hurry, which made them looked at her.
"Why are we running?" Padmé asked, not understand why they were taken sometime to get to Vina's speeder.
"Shut up," Vina said making the kids gasped, surprise by the change of tone.
Looking around, Vina hold tight on the kids hands, and looking around she walked into a corner where her speeder was, making sure no one was around. Once they reach it, she let go the kids and went to the speeder.
"Where Papa's surprise?" Padmé asked and out of nowhere she and Ani saw their grandfather's ghost.
"Grandpa," Anakin smiled.
Vina turned and looked at the spot the kids were looking, not seeing anything.
"What are you talking about?"
"Is grandpa," Padmé said smiling. "We have a surprise for Papa, grandpa."
Anakin looked at his grand kids, watching Vina walked towards them and getting behind the two kids.
"Sweeties, run."
The small kids frown.
"What?"
"RUN, now."
But before they could do it, Vina grabbed both kids and putting a cloth over the kids mouth and nose, she hold them closer until seconds later they went limb, unconscious.
Grabbing the kids, she put them inside the speeder and cover them with a blanket. Looking at the time, she went inside and looking one last time to the spot the kids were looking at it, she flew off towards the remote part where her contact was waiting for her for sure.
In the Temple:
Ines was in the class room, when all the sudden she felt something and had to support herself on the next table.
"Master Ines, are you alright?" Nelah asked right away.
"No, sweetie, I'm not. Something bad happened," Ines replied and looking to her left she saw her father's in law ghost and that's when she was sure something really bad had just happened by the look on his face.
At the same time in the Falcon:
Everyone was sitting around the table. They were traveling in lightspeed for the past 3 days and they were about to reach Coruscant.
"So what are you going to do when land at Coruscant?" Ahsoka asked Rex.
"I need to find my brothers and talked to them about what we find out. It is their right to know."
"And you are right on that." Han nod. "I have to say I can't wait to land and see my 3 kids, even my two troublemakers," he smiled thinking of his kids.
"Don't let Leia find out you are only eager to see your kids and not her too" Luke replied smiling at his brother in law, when all of the sudden he gasped and grabbing his chest and drop the glass he had on his hand.
"Luke!" Han said standing up right away. "What did you feel, cause you had the same reaction Ben had when Alderaan was blew up."
Ahsoka and Rex also approached. Looking at them, they saw Luke's frightening look on his face.
"Something bad happened?"
"Another place destroyed?" Rex asked.
"No, not a place," and looking at Han, Luke sighed. "To our kids."
So Ines was right to felt something strange about Vina. What do you think she will do with the kids?
