Chapter two is here and will be much, much longer. I apologize for the spelling mistakes in the previous chapter. I plan to double and and even triple check all the spelling from now on. Enjoy this chapter two of The Pseudo Uchiha. Again, I do not own Naruto nor its characters. Sigh, hopefully one day I'll be good enough to own something. Welp, chapter two ladies and gentlemen.
Chapter two: Academy student
Naruto sat in his room alone and in deep thought. He thought of what to start with. He had gotten so much from the old man yesterday. He had a mother that loved him, a clan, and multiple scrolls of clan techniques and just general skills to learn. He had four months to train. Four months to prepare himself to be the best academy student. He decided to go back to the old man for advice as to what he would start with. On the way there, he got hungry and decided eating was a must. Only problem, most stores wouldn't sell him food. The ones that did created imaginary taxes, and Naruto didn't make enough from the hokage to afford the overpriced food. Hell, even clothes had been a hassle. The ones he wears now are ones he'd found in a dumpster. Naruto soon found himself wandering around the village. He received glares from every way he looked. He just held his head down, not wanting to look in the hateful eyes of the villagers. As he walked, he soon smelled a devine smell, something he considered a smell of the gods. He walked towards it, coming across an old ramen stand by the name of Ichiraku Ramen. Naruto walked inside of the little stand, lifting the flap to the entrance and hesitantly sitting on one of the chairs. He steeled himself and got the attention of the chef behind the counter. "Hey, mister!" The old man behind the counter turned around to find a 7 year old Naruto sitting at one of his chairs. He had, of course as every villager had, known about his burden of the nine tails. His red hair had surprised the old man. He was a carbon copy of one of his best customers.
"Hello. Welcome to Ichiraku ramen." Said the old man. Naruto was taken aback and quickly sputtered out a response as to not waste time getting food. "Thanks for welcoming me, sir. Can I have an order of miso ramen?" Naruto spoke politely, not wanting to anger the first person who'd allow him to eat at their food stand. The old man grinned and nodded. "Coming right up. And by the way, the name is Ichiraku. Teuchi Ichiraku." Naruto nodded, "Okay, Ichiraku-san. I'm Naruto. Naruto Uzumaki." This confirmed Teuchi's suspicion. "Hmm. You wouldn't happen to know who Kushina Uzumaki is, would you?" Naruto's eyes brightened at this. "You knew my mom?" Teuchi just smiled widely. "Of course I did. She was my best customer and quite frankly, a ramen addict." Teuchi said, chuckling at the last part. Naruto also chuckled at the fact that his mother was addicted to something as silly as ramen. "Right, let me get that ramen for you. It's on the house this time." Naruto smiled at this, wondering if there were more nice people like him in the village. Teuchi turned to cook the ramen and returned with a steaming bowl nearly 10 minutes later. Naruto stared at the ramen, mouth drooling. It smelt so good. The same devine smell he'd smelt earlier. He broke a pair of chopsticks and slowly blew on the steaming hot ramen. He took the first bite and instantly fell in love with the food known as ramen. With no further hesitation, he practically inhaled the rest of the bowl with a sheepish expression. "Sorry, Ichiraku-san. I kinda got ahead of myself." Teuchi simply smiled. "It's okay. You're just like your mother, you know that?" Naruto felt a sense of pride that he and his mother were so much alike. He smiled, thanked Teuchi once again and left, finishing his route to the hokage's office.
xx
Naruto arrived at the hokage's mansion, wondering what the old man was up to. He passed the secretary desk despite the ladies' protest and knocked on the door to the office. The hokage permitted his guest to come in, already guessing who it was. When Naruto walked in, Sarutobi smiled and greeted him. "Hello, Naruto." Naruto returned the gesture and also said "Hello," Soon after he got straight to the point. "Jiji, I need help. I want to get strong, and I want to live up to my clan's name, but I don't know where to start." Sarutobi simply nodded, understanding where Naruto was coming from. "Well, Naruto, firstly I should tell you something I failed to mention. There's no reason to keep this from you any longer." Naruto had no clue what to expect. "You are the container of the nine tailed fox demon." Sarutobi had known Naruto was very young, maybe too young, but better to tell him now than to wait for some idiot who ignored his law to do so for him. He saw Naruto begin to shed a few tears, "Does that mean I'm the Kyuubi? Did I kill my mom?" Hiruzen's face managed a smile as he shook his head. "No, Naruto, you are not the nine tailed fox. You are simply the container for it. Just like a sealing scroll is to a kunai. The sealing scroll is not the kunai but the holder of it." Naruto understood this. He had realized that the villagers were ignorant. But he wouldn't let it bother him. He'd succeed anyway. Sarutobi began to explain why he'd told him. "I told you this because on top of your already monstrous Uzumaki reserves you have a demon inside of you with reserves greater than your own. Much greater." Naruto nodded, understanding where this was going. "So it's going to be really hard to control." Hiruzen looked proud at the analysis of the boy. "Precisely. Therefore, I suggest you complete chakra control first, then come back to me once you have. On top of that," Hiruzen reached for another piece of paper inside his desk. This one had writing on it that Naruto felt somehow connected to. He looked at the piece of paper wondering what it was for. "These are gravity seals, Naruto. To activate and increase weight simply add more chakra to the seal after forming the ram hand sign." The hokage put the seal on Naruto's back and told Naruto to add the least amount of chakra he could. He did so, and activated the first level of the gravity seal.
He felt so heavy. As if his weight had doubled. He nearly crumpled to the ground with the new found weight. "Now," Hiruzen started, "Use these weights for physical exercise. Your mothers taijutsu style was one with fast and strong hits. Meaning you have to be fast and strong. I expect you to do 150 pushups, situps, and 250 squats everyday along with chakra control training, and running around the village. When you need to up your seal, just add a tiny bit more chakra." Naruto nodded, thanked the old hokage and set forth towards his home. He was slowly getting used to the gravity seal that weighed him down so much. He nearly collapsed several times on the way home. Nonetheless, he continued and began his training. He completed his physical workout first, seeing as his stamina was otherworldly, he seemed to not even be winded. He then sat down at a local training ground, actively opening the chakra control scroll. It had only two exercises in it. Both academy levels of difficulty. "Leaf sticking exercise, huh." Naruto mused. He read the scroll to himself then tried to do the exercise. He put the leaf on his forehead, channeling the least amount of chakra towards his forehead, attempting to stick the leaf but with no such success. He didn't give up, however, and tried once more. Failing again. Naruto would go about this for another hour and a half, before finally getting the leaf to stick for about 10 seconds. The goal was a minute straight. This would be Naruto's training program for two weeks. During the second week, Hiruzen had bought Naruto healthier food items, telling him he'd need them to grow. He had also bought a wooden tanto for Naruto. When Naruto got the wooden sword he asked what it was for. He figured he had a long way before learning kenjutsu. "Naruto boy," the hokage started, "your mother's taijutsu was also her kenjutsu. It was one in the same. Therefore, in order to learn her taijutsu, you have to also learn her kenjutsu. You won't get a real tanto till you're a genin, so this will have to do." Naruto understood this and practiced ken and taijutsu.
Now we find our redhead in the middle of another local training ground. He'd just ended his 2nd week of training. He hasn't even mastered one kata of the tai/kenjutsu, but he had mastered the leaf sticking exercise and now got to move on to the next. Leaf floating exercise. Instead of balancing it, you had to use a constant flow of chakra to float it slightly above the hand. This took Naruto another two weeks to master. At the end of the two weeks, he'd gotten halfway through the first level of the gravity seal, being able to move about half of his original speed without the extra weight. He had finally understood the concept behind his mothers tai/kenjutsu style; having yet to master even one kata. Now, he'd pay the old hokage a visit. He made his way to the hokage's office after stopping for ramen. He had been visiting the ramen stand once a week for the last month.
Naruto was now inside the hokage office. "Naruto boy, how are you doing in your training?" Naruto answered honestly. "I'm doing fine. It's a little slow, but still fine. I haven't even gotten one kata down for mom's style, but I understand the concept. I've mastered both chakra control exercises. I'm only about half of my original speed without the seal. Now, what should I do next, Jiji." Hiruzen nodded in understanding and thought about the next thing Naruto should train in. "Start practicing calligraphy basics, and fuinjutsu E to D rank. There should be a jutsu for each rank and practice sets for calligraphy practice." Naruto nodded, again thanked the hokage, and went on his way. Naruto had been sitting on the floor of his apartment. His tongue sticking out in focus, he went to work on calligraphy practice. He had to complete this practice in order to perform the jutsu in the fuinjutsu scroll. Naruto had to be able to copy each seal in under 3 seconds each. He'd written the symbols over, and over, and over again. This went on for a week before Naruto had finished the first set of calligraphy practice for the E rank fuinjutsu. He then dedicated time to working on the E rank jutsu. "Sealing scroll: Level 1." This was just the basic sealing knowledge any shinobi should know. It was simply a fuinjutsu that sealed items within it. At his level, Naruto could seal no more than a medium sized dog, and for liquid proportions, 2 gallons of liquid. It was also limited to one item at a time. It took another 2 weeks for Naruto to complete the second set of Calligraphy practice. He could now practice the D rank fuinjutsu "sealing scroll: level 2." He could now carry in it anything shorter than 30 feet, less weight than 1000 pounds and any liquid less than 10 gallons.
By the time Naruto had finished all of his calligraphy and fuinjutsu practice it had already been 2 months. Naruto was slightly proud of the rate he was growing. He finally got down a single kata of his mother style and was now used to the first level of the gravity seal. He now had to once again pay the hokage a little visit. When Naruto arrived, he entered as usual, greeting the old kage, "Jiji." Hiruzen gave a smile. "Here to report on training?" Sarutobi asked and Naruto nodded. "Yup. I've completed calligraphy and fuinjutsu practice. I've also completed the first level of gravity seals." Hiruzen was impressed by the quick progression of the redhead. He nodded and thought for a moment. "First and foremost, increase your gravity seal to level two." Naruto did as told, actually collapsing to the ground this time around. He slowly and with a struggle got back to his feet, albeit with shaky legs. Naruto looked at the kage expectantly. Hiruzen nodded in acknowledgement and continued, "Double your physical workouts. And for the last two months before you enter into the academy, study academy topics in the library and wait until the last month to learn the first genjutsu from the scroll I gave. Learning the second should be supervised by a sensei." For the last time until the academy started, Naruto would walk out smiling at the old hokage, and thank him. He then attempted to jog home so that he could possibly get used to the gravity seal placed on him.
Naruto arrived at his home. He thought about training, but that wasn't the greatest idea. He needed to rest. His body was hurting all over from the new level of the gravity seal. He sighed, laid down and went to sleep.
Next Day
Naruto had opened his eyes to see bright sun arrays coming in through his window. He smiled, deciding today would be a good day. He put on his clothes, and headed for his favorite to get his favorite food, ramen. As he started walking, people, as usual, started glaring at Naruto. Naruto felt the glares and instead of putting his head down, he glared back. Naruto was surprised by his actions. He'd never glared at anyone, ever. And yet, it just felt right. As he glared, he also smiled. When Naruto started smiling, many villagers seemed to walk faster past him, others started sweating, and many felt creeped out. Naruto had the smile of a fox, and the glare that'd challenge any Hyuga. Naruto, at the sight of scaring villagers, simply widened his smile. He could get used to this. He was tired of all the hate, all the abuse, and figured he'd do something about it. When he arrived at Ichiraku's, he dropped his creepy smile and put on a genuine one. "Hey, old man Ichiraku. Can I get the regular?" Teuchi smiled at the young boy. "Of course you can. It'll be just a few minutes." Teuchi turned around to start cooking the ramen. "I swear that boy has grown an inch or two," He said to himself. He turned to give the ramen to the drooling Naruto.
Naruto finished the bowl before Teuchi could possibly imagine. He was left mouth agape at how quickly the boy could shove down food. "Wow, Naruto. You eat about as fast as an Akimichi. I'm impressed." Naruto smiled sheepishly at the comment with his hand behind his head. "Ah, well, I was a bit hungry, ya know!" Teuchi shook his head in amusement. Naruto got up, paid the old man, and walked out. "Next stop, library." He thought to himself.
At this library
Naruto had managed to sneak into the library. He'd made sure to leave his tanto at home so as to not attract attention. Nevertheless, he picked up the first book he saw in the academy section. "General Academy Knowledge: Volume 1 - Expectations." Naruto nodded and went to a chair to begin reading. "Chapter 1 - What's to be expected…" Naruto read the entire book. The most important thing he picked up is that he needs to know how to throw kunai and shuriken. He also knew he needed to know the three basic jutsu consisting of the substitution jutsu, transformation jutsu, and the basic clone jutsu. He was disappointed to know that Jiji forgot to give him any kunai or shuriken. Oh well, he'd just have to buy some later.
He spotted another book about all the clans in Konoha. He read to himself, "Hyuga, Uchiha, Auburame, Senju, Inuzuka, Nara, Yamanaka, Akimichi, and Sarutobi." Naruto was upset. Nowhere did he see his clan. Yet they had one of his clan's strongest members in the village, protecting it, and leading it's Anbu. There was only one explanation, they forgot about his clan. He would make them remember. He would make his clan feared throughout the world once again. There were now two more things added onto his list. His current list now consisted of three things. 1, become an Anbu captain, then eventually commander. Just like his mother did. 2, make his clan the most feared in the world once more. 3, find every surviving clan member. He was determined to do so.
Naruto left the library, sneaking out the same way he came in. He was heading to a training ground so that he could do his daily workout and work on the three academy jutsu. Walking through the village Naruto started with his creepy smile again. He glared and smiled at every villager that glared at him, some even going so far as to cross to the other side of the street. Naruto's smile widened once more as he noticed the villagers squirm uncomfortably by just a single glance. Why hadn't he done this before, when they were bold enough to beat him. Ever since he'd been seen with the hokage, many backed off in fear that they would be killed by the hokage himself if seen hurting Naruto.
Naruto was approaching the training ground and as he got closer, he saw a boy seemingly training by himself. He had raven hair, onyx black eyes, and a red and white fan on the back of his dark gray shirt. He noticed the fan from the book of clans from Konoha and knew it was the Uchiha clan symbol. He had heard about the Uchiha clan massacre and knew he must be in pain. He must be lonely like himself. He decided that he'd talk to him. Maybe, just maybe, he could make his first friend.
"Oi!" Naruto yelled out to the boy. The black haired boy looked at Naruto and returned back to what he was doing. Naruto frowned at this. Naruto had gotten within 5 feet of the boy and called out again. "Oi, Uchiha." The boy looked up, surprised he knew his clan's, or ex clan's name. He must've noticed his clan's symbol on his shirt. He reluctantly responded, "What do you want?" There was no malice or hatred in his voice, just minor annoyance. This was new for Naruto, it was rare for him to be talked to as if he were a normal person. Naruto gave off a genuine smile, happy that maybe, this boy could be his first friend. "What's your name?" Asked Naruto. The boy looked up and began to reply "Sasuke. Sasuke Uchiha." Naruto's smile widened as he told his own name "My name's Naruto. Naruto Uzumaki." Sasuke nodded, returning back to his kunai and shuriken practice. "Mind if I join, I was just about to practice a little myself." Asked Naruto. "So you're entering the academy too?" Sasuke asked curiously. Naruto nodded and Sasuke smirked. "Sure, I guess you can join." Naruto on the inside jumped for joy. He'd just met and made his first ever friend. He'd cherish this moment, and little did he know what the future had in store for him and his new friend.
As the day went by, Naruto and Sasuke practiced their shuriken and kunai jutsu. They shared a few laughs, and Sasuke was the happiest since his clan was massacred. At the end of the day Naruto and Sasuke were seen sitting on the ground, both sweaty and tired. Naruto decided to start a conversation, "You know, Sasuke. I'm glad you, someone who knows how I feel." Sasuke raised an eyebrow in interest. "What do you mean?" He asked. Naruto looked towards the sky, "Someone who knows what it feels like to truly be alone." Sasuke's eyes widened for a second before a tear dropped from his eye. "It sucks." Is all Sasuke could say. "I agree. But from now on, I'll be there for you. So that you're never lonely again." Sasuke was taken aback.
Flashback
"Itachi! Why would you do this to your own family?! I thought you loved us, I thought you loved me!
Itachi, the one who massacred his clan in cold blood, simply stared at his brother. He decided to reply.
"To test my power. To see just how powerful I've gotten. Foolish little brother. In this world, you'll find nothing but loneliness. Through that loneliness, you'll be filled with envy and hatred for those better off than you. Harbor that hatred, and achieve eyes like mines"
Present time
You were wrong, brother. I don't have to be lonely. I'll be stronger than you. I will avenge my clan. But I won't be alone when I do it. Sasuke wiped his tears, and smiled at Naruto. He quickly got up and said, "Come with me." Naruto, albeit tiredly, followed Sasuke through the streets of Konoha. Sasuke noticed the glares Naruto was getting. He turned to look at his new best friend to see the scariest smile he'd ever seen. Along with a glare that reminded him all too much of his late father. Sasuke turned back around and picked up speed to jog. Naruto followed behind with the same smile. They ended up at the Uchiha compound where Sasuke brought Naruto to retrieve something. Sasuke walked into his old home. Memories rushed back but he quickly put them aside. He went into his old room where he picked up a set of earrings. He gave one to Naruto and kept one for himself. "These were going to be me and Itachi's, but he, well I'm sure you know what happened. You've done more for me than my brother ever has, and I think you deserve this." Naruto shed a few tears. He never thought anyone would be his friend, let alone think of him as a brother. He nodded at his words. He pierced his own ear with a wince and Sasuke did the same. They looked at each other and smiled. "Well. Same place tomorrow?" Naruto asked. Sasuke nodded and told Naruto goodnight and Naruto did the same. With that, Naruto headed to his own home. When he had gotten there, he opened the door to find a brand new kunai and shuriken set. "I swear that old man reads my mind," mused Naruto.
Next day
Naruto and Sasuke sat in the same training ground they were in yesterday. This time, Naruto brought kunai, shuriken, and his wooden tanto. He had explained to Sasuke that the tanto came from the hokage himself, as did the kunai and shuriken. Sasuke was surprised to learn that Naruto and the hokage had such a close relationship. "So what are we gonna do today?" Asked Sasuke. Naruto slightly frowned. "Well, there's a couple things I wanna share with you. Get comfy, it's going to take awhile." With that Naruto explained who his mother was, and who his clan was. He also shared his goal with Sasuke, that he'd find his clan members, become the Anbu commander, and make his clan the most feared in the world, as they had been before Sasuke liked his goals. He shared his own goals. 1 that he wanted to kill his brother and the other, to resurrect his clan. Naruto promised to help him kill his brother and Sasuke promised to help find all the members of the Uzumaki clan. Naruto decided to tell his biggest secret. "I want you to know something, Sasuke." Naruto was nervous, not wanting to lose his new friend. "I have the nine tailed fox sealed within me.." Sasuke's eyes widened just slightly. "Just because you have a giant fox sealed inside of you doesn't mean you'll be stronger than me, you bastard." Sasuke said with a giant smile. Naruto was relieved. "We'll just have to see about that then, huh. By the way, I need to ask the hokage something. Wanna come with?" Sasuke nodded and the pair went to the hokage's office. Naruto knocked on the door of the hokage's office. Sarutobi allowed the boy to come in and was surprised to see another boy with him. "Naruto boy, who's your friend there?" Of course the hokage knew who this was, but he asked simply to make conversation. "Oh, him? That's my new best friend, Sasuke." Sarutobi nodded, showing he understood. "So, what brings you in today?" Naruto thought for a second, "Well, old man, Sasuke doesn't have a family anymore. And I don't have a family either. I was wondering if, well, me and Sasuke could get a place together!" Both Sarutobi and Sasuke were taken aback by this statement. Sasuke didn't expect Naruto to trust him so much so early on in their friendship. Sarutobi didn't think the pair were so close already. The old man thought for a moment, and finally made a decision. "I can work that out. How about you two come with me, I know just the place." Naruto smiled and Sasuke was shocked yet again that the village leader would go along with the request of a 7 year old.
The hokage and the two children walked through the village and eventually ended up at the place they'd be residing at. It was a nice japanese style home. It had two stories, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a nice sized dining area. Sasuke and Naruto were appalled. They were surprised the hokage would get them something so nice. "Now, boys, this will come at a price. For now, the house will be paid for by the Uchiha funding still left. After you two are genin, you will pay for it with the money you make, understood?" The boys nodded and decided it was best to move in quickly as possible. They first went to Naruto's apartment, grabbing any and everything they could see and taking it to their new home. Afterwards, they went to Sasuke's apartment he'd gotten after the massacre and grabbed all his things. Eventually, they'd gotten everything they needed and would leave unpacking for a different time. Now, they needed to train.
One week later
It had been two weeks into the third month of Naruto's training. He and Sasuke would train everything. Training their chakra control, academy jutsu, and taijutsu. Sasuke decided he'd pick up kenjutsu as well. His brother and his brother's best friend used katanas, so he would too. Just like Naruto, he'd gotten a wooden sword. As mentioned, his was a katana instead of a tanto. They spared many times, having a record of 10-11 in Naruto's favor. Now that they were training together, they were improving, and fast. Sasuke had already learned the transformation jutsu, being able to use it without hand signs. Naruto had learned the substitution, being able to use it without hand signs. They were proud of their achievements. Naruto had also suggested Sasuke used gravity seals, but Sasuke decided on physical weights. For no other reason than he wanted to be different from Naruto. The two also started working on different combination techniques with their tai and kenjutsu. Naruto used his advanced sealing jutsu to create seals to keep kunai and shuriken as well as their wooden swords. In terms of skill level, they were both genin level.
Naruto being only a slightly higher skill level.
Jutsu list (for both Naruto and Sasuke)
Naruto - Substitution, Sealing scroll: Level 1 and 2 - Basic kenjutsu and taijutsu
Sasuke - Transformation, Fireball jutsu, Basic kenjutsu and fuinjutsu
Back to the present
Another two weeks had passed and Naruto was finally allowed to learn his first genjutsu for his family. It was an E rank genjutsu that most seasoned genin could escape from. But it was good enough. Naruto and Sasuke could be seen in the training ground. "So, what should I do while you learn your genjutsu?" Sasuke asked. Naruto frowned, "I'm not sure. Maybe you could learn the basic clone jutsu?" Sasuke nodded and agreed. Then Sasuke had another question. "How do you know if you did the jutsu right?" Naruto thought back to the scroll. "When I feel a spike in my chakra. If my chakra spikes higher than usual, I know I've done it. Usually, there'll be a big chakra burst from my body." Sasuke nodded and went off to practice the clone jutsu. Naruto stayed where he was, and for the first time, he attempted his jutsu. He went through the hand signs, ending on the ram seal. Nothing happened. He sighed, knowing that this was going to be quite difficult.
One week later
Naruto had progressed slightly in his jutsu. He'd managed to get the amount of chakra right, now he needed to force the chakra onto a chakra path. And for that, he'd use Sasuke. Sasuke was doing rather well himself. As it stood he could make a clone, but it was half invisible so it wasn't mastered. As of now, they were both walking to Ichiraku ramen to get food. They had been training and were quite hungry. As they walked they both glared at the passing villagers. Sasuke had developed his glare from Naruto's and they were both intimidating for just being 7. As they walked, suddenly a mob of people were building around them, stopping them in their tracks. Naruto sighed, he began remembering the multiple beatings from the villagers when he was just a child. He was decently fast now that he'd gotten a little used to the gravity seal level two. Sasuke still had his weights on, but he was decently fast as well. They looked around, and about 30 villagers surrounded them. Another thing Sasuke had learned from Naruto was his smile. His eerie, creepy smile. At the same time, they showed off their smile, the smile that shook most that looked at it. The villagers were creeped out. It felt like an aura of pure evil was flooding off the pair. They unsealed their wooden tanto and katana respectively, and with movements that could only be described as graceful, they knocked out villagers one by one. While one villager would throw a punch, Naruto would block and Sasuke would slash with the sword, knocking them out. They moved as if they were reading each other's minds. It was a sight to see. After knocking out every villager they both sealed their weapons in their sealing scroll and walked off.
"No way, the last Uchiha is a demon lover," "The demon must've tricked him." These were the comments Naruto and Sasuke received. And as they did, they flashed the same eerie smile that would soon intimidate even the strongest of ninja.
The pair soon made their way to Ichiraku's ramen shop to get ramen. Teuchi had met and gotten used to Sasuke now and knew what each of the boys wanted. "Miso and Beef, right?" He asked with a grin. Both boys nodded, ate, thanked Teuchi and left. The pair went to a training ground to practice their jutsu. Naruto was Sasuke if he'd allow him to try the genjutsu on him. Sasuke agreed and waited patiently for Naruto to do the jutsu. Naruto flew through hand signs at an average speed ending with the ram sign once more. A burst of chakra came from Naruto and sasuke felt his chakra system being overwhelmed for less than half of a second and it ended. Afterwards he saw Naruto cursing and looking frustrated. "So, how are you supposed to perform the jutsu, Naruto?" Naruto thought retrospectively to the scroll, "I'm supposed to release a high amount of chakra to overwhelm your system. After I'm supposed to slowly stop releasing it to disrupt your flow of chakra, that way the genjutsu starts to work. When it works, you're supposed to see the world around you melting away almost like ice cream." Sasuke nodded. "Hmm. I have an idea. Have you ever tried sensing how much chakra someone has?" Naruto shook his head then widened his eyes. "If I can sense how much you have, I'll know exactly how much chakra to use! But, I'd have to be a sensor type ninja." Sasuke eyed Naruto in thought. "Well you'll never know if you don't try, right?" Naruto nodded. He read about sensory type ninja and knew exactly how to test to see if he was one himself. He sent out a small flow of chakra and felt for chakra signatures. He closed his eyes and saw many bright flames. Some big, some small. He saw his own and was the biggest, by far, in the entire village. He saw Sasuke's and noticed his flame was half as big as his. Which is impressive, considering how big his reserves are. He opened his eyes and stopped the flow of chakra he sent out. "I guess it worked. Mom didn't mention anything about being a sensor. Guess I'm just special!" Sasuke smiled at his best friend. "Now try the jutsu again." Naruto nodded, went through the hand signs and sent out a burst of chakra. Once again, Sasuke felt his chakra being overwhelmed but this time, it didn't go away after half of a second. His chakra felt so out of whack, and as he noticed this the world was melting away. The genjutsu itself only lasted for a second. Sasuke was impressed, Naruto actually got the jutsu down. Now he just needed to master it. "Cool, right?" Said Naruto. He was a little tired. Sasuke had half of his reserves and it took a bit out of him to overpower his chakra. He was fine after a bit of a breather. "Yeah, it is pretty cool!" Said Sasuke, excited that his friend, now brother, was getting stronger.
Last day before Academy entrance
Naruto and Sasuke decided to rest today. It was one day before the Academy and they wanted to just rest for an entire day. Sasuke had mastered the basic clone, Naruto had mastered his first genjutsu and they were sure they'd be the best in the class. Sasuke had increased his weight a couple times throughout the month. Naruto still needed a bit of time to fully get used to the level two gravity seal. They decided to cook for themselves this time. They made a big breakfast consisting of eggs, bacon, pancakes and orange juice. They'd eaten and gotten ready for the day. Their outfits now matched. Both wore black long sleeve shirts with their respective clan symbol on the back. Both wore baggy cargo pants with the sealing scrolls inside of the pockets. Naruto's hair had grown slightly long, going past his shoulder. Sasuke's hair stayed the same. As they walked through the village they didn't know what to do. They didn't live like normal kids their age. They simply trained all day. They had only gone out once during the month and that was to celebrate Sasuke's birthday. His birthday was just a month before Naruto's. They hadn't done much but went to the Akimichi BBQ restaurant, the only other place that'd serve them food. Any other food came from Ichiraku or the old hokage buying them groceries. Thus, allowing them to grow properly.
Now that they were roaming the streets, they came across a couple kids their age. One looked extremely tired and lazy, the other looked big boned. They were laying on a park bench. The big one was eating chips, scarfing down handfuls at a time. The other one was simply watching the clouds. Naruto and Sasuke decided they wanted to maybe make a couple new friends. "Oi!" They yelled out simultaneously. The two boys on the bench looked at them curiously. "Yo." said the lazy one. "Hello." Said the big one. Naruto decided to introduce himself and Sasuke, "I'm Naruto Uzumaki, and this is Sasuke Uchiha. What's your guy's name?" The big boy stopped eating for a second to introduce himself, "I'm Choji Akimichi." Naruto and Sasuke nodded and turned their attention to the other boy. "Troublesome. I'm Shikamaru Nara." Naruto and Sasuke smiled, sitting on the seats of the bench. "Nice to meet you guys. I recognize you two are from ninja clans. Are you two joining the academy?" Sasuke questioned. This time it was Shikamaru who answered, "Yup. It's so troublesome but my mom's making me join. And Choji just wants to be a shinobi. What kind of friend would I be to let him do it alone?" Shikamaru continued to stare into the sky. Naruto nodded and looked at the clouds as well. For hours, the two pairs of boys sat in a comfortable silence. After a while, Choji spoke up, "How about all of you come to my house for dinner tonight?" Shikamaru replied with a "sure." Naruto and Sasuke looked at each other not knowing if they should really do this. They knew Naruto's predicament. And even Sasuke is disliked among the villagers nowadays. They decided to go anyway. Besides, if Choji is so nice, his parents must be nice as well. They headed towards Choji's house. As they walked, no villagers glared. They simply kept walking. All because of the smile that Naruto and Sasuke mastered and perfected. The smile that screamed for blood. When they arrived at Choji's home, Naruto and Sasuke introduced themselves. Shikamaru had quite often visited Choji's house and thus, had no reason to. They all say at the dinner table. The pair of new brothers were glad that the Akimichi family was indeed nice. They were fed wonderful food, and watched classic Japanese movies on the television the family owned. After it had gotten late, Naruto and Sasuke decided to head home. Shikamaru was going to spend the night, so he saw the two off along with Choji. "See you guys at class tomorrow!" Shouted Choji. The two boys nodded and said their goodbyes. Tomorrow was a big day.
Next day
Naruto and Sasuke woke up early. Today was the day. Today would be the day they'd start their career off as ninja. They made a small breakfast. Not only was it the first day of the academy, it was Naruto's birthday. They'd celebrate that later, though. Until then, they were now officially Academy students.
A/N: Yoo, this is the end of the second chapter. I apologize if it feels rushed or as if the plot thickened too quickly. I'm not really using an outline for the story, just writing off the top of my head with a general idea of what I'm going to do. I do believe this chapter is much better than the last. As you all see, I'm not trying to make the two too strong too soon so in that aspect, I'm taking it slow. That is, until the wave ark gets here, *wink wink*. Anywho, let me know what the pairings should be. I still haven't decided but I'm open to suggestions. No yaoi, no harem, and no Hinata. Not a terrible pairing just see it much too often. The next chapter should be a little better. I'm going to get better as I write, so stay patient.
To finish this, with the whole smile thing, I'm borrowing the idea from another fanfiction. Yes, in this story, team seven as a team will be much stronger. All three will become swordsmen/swordswoman, and let me know what Sakura should be. A combative medic, a ninjutsu specialist perhaps? The current roles are Sasuke, main combat specialist. Specializes in hand to hand combat, ninjutsu, etc. Naruto as a genjutsu/combative specialist. He'll be good at hand to hand, genjutsu, and of course fuinjutsu. Sakura would be playing a support role. I'm thinking maybe a trap and strategy specialist. Anyway, that's it. Thanks for reading, and I'll work on chapter 3 soon. Peace.
