"Scrambling for Answers"
In the Gates of Hell everyone was safe for the moment. Bayonetta, Jeanne, and Rodin walked in. Rodin turned on the TVs showing the new threats but the signal was cut off. Enzo was sobbing while looking on his phone of his family "Ed! Edna! Ah God!" Enzo mourned over his family's deaths.
Rodon spoke up "He tried to go outside, but I knocked some sense into him."
"After all, he still hasn't paid that tab." Rodin said.
Soon the whole place rumbled "We'll be cool down here for a little while..." Rodin light his cigarette "...a very little while." he said.
"You mean those weren't your playmates?" Bayonetta asked.
"Not my type. Although I did try shakin' hands." Rodin said.
He clutched his fist "Those things ain't from Paradiso or Inferno. They're locals. In other words... they're part human." Rodin said.
"Human?" Jeanne asked.
A voice called out "They're Homunculi. Man made bioweapons." Viola said.
Everyone was confused Viola was walking towards Rodin he asked "How about you tell us who you are first? Miss..."
She put her hand on the bar "Viola." Viola said her name.
Bayonetta walked up there was something about her she couldn't explain Viola spoke "Bayonetta, I'm..." but she couldn't finish her sentence.
More rumble happen "Uh, never mind. Look, we don't have time! If we don't stop them, this world is history, and reality as we know it gets wiped out for good!" Viola said.
Bayonetta had a lollipop in her hands and walked over to the witch in training "And so you just led them right to us?" Bayonetta asked and shoved the lollipop in Viola's mouth.
Viola took the lollipop out of her mouth "No!" she said.
"They're like locusts, spreading through the Multiverse... destroying it as they go!" Viola said.
"Just trust me, damn it! We've got to hurry. Bayonetta… Jeanne… You both have to help!" Viola demanded their assistance.
Jeanne chose to shot her Viola pulled out Mab Dachi and activated Witch Time slowing down time and slicing the bullets. "Why do you know our names? And who the hell taught you that bit of magic?" Jeanne demanded.
"Well… In the world I'm from, we've already met." Viola said.
"A world like this one, in another part of the Multiverse…" Viola said.
"… but it's gone now." Viola said.
She pointed at the two witches. "Along with you, and you… and everything else!" Viola said.
"The Homunculi are tearing through the Multiverse and there's only a few worlds left!" Viola said.
A voice is heard in Bayonetta's ears "Those world's fates are up to you." the Arch Son said.
"Up to me?" Cereza asked.
A demon was behind Jeanne "Multiverse? On the off chance you're insane, what do they want?" Jeanne asked.
"Hold up. This could be serious." Rodin said.
"If what you're sayin' is true, then this ain't just a human problem." Rodin said.
He turned around and grabbed some beers "Within the Trinity of Realities, the World of Chaos is actually made up of countless universes, all stacked up together. That's the Muliverse." Rodin said.
"If someone's wipin' those universes out one by one… Nah, "wipin' out" doesn't quite explain it." Rodin said.
"They're breakin the Multiverse down, tryin' to fuse it together." Rodin said.
He had like six bears "Like runnin' thinly sliced wagyu beef through a grinder to make a big ol' juicy burger." he said.
He poured all the drinks together "And if they can pull it off, they'll get their hands on enough power to wipe out the whole Trinity in a snap." Rodin said.
He poured the drink into a glass for Bayonetta "Thank you, professor." Bayonetta said.
"I could have done better." Arch Son said to himself.
She drinks and turned to Viola "And what do you expect us to do?" Bayonetta asked.
"Right. There are two things we have to do." Viola said.
"Jeanne. I want you to find a scientist named Sigurd. He's somewhere in this world, and he can help us." Viola said to Jeanne.
"And Bayonetta. I want you to come with me to help find more of these." Viola said.
She showed Bayonetta a Chaos Gear "This is a Chaos Gear, the key to beating Singularity. And the only one who knows how to use them is Dr. Sigurd. Without both of them, we can kiss this world goodbye." Viola said.
Bayonetta spoke up "Well, since solitaire in a literal man cave isn't exactly riveting..." she was holding Loki's cards and her old wooden self before dropping them. "I suppose I'll be your chaperone. that will help restore some sanity, right?" Bayonetta asked.
"We'll have a bit of girl talk along the way." Bayonetta said.
"O-okay." Viola said.
Rodin spoke up "So anyway Viola..." he slammed his fist "You gonna introduce me to this thing or what?" Rodin asked.
He looked at the cat-like demon it was Cheshire, the lost outcast. Cheshire spit out a penny farthing and began riding "Huh? Oh, damn it Cheshire! You know you're not supposed to pop out like that!" Viola said.
"Cheshire..." Bayonetta said.
Inside his chambers the Arch Son had his map out and began tracking Bayonetta, Viola, and Cheshire "Their leader's name is Singularity. He unraveled the secret of the Multiverse before anyone else. Declaring his own world the Alphaverse, he began destroying the other layers of the Multiverse one by one. There's only one way to stop him take the fight to him in the Alphaverse. We don't have a way to move freely through the Multiverse... but there's one place that connects the whole thing. A legendary island created by the Umbra and the Lumen to study and reach out to the unknown." Viola explained.
"The secluded island of Thule!" Viola beholden to Bayonetta.
"Are you sure your fantasy island is real?" Bayonetta asked.
The Arch Son spoke to her again "Your destiny is to save the Multiverse." Arch Son said.
"My destiny?" Bayonetta asked.
"I'll show you a glimpse of what's possible to come." Arch son said.
Bayonetta soon gained a vision: it was her and Luka hugging each other and being dragged to the depths of Inferno. "I seek to undo that event and save the Multiverse." Arch son said.
"Look, there it is!" Viola said.
They saw Thule "Hmm... Someone seems very interested in our arrival." Bayonetta said.
"Is it him?" Viola asked.
"Let's land fast. It's not safe." Viola said to Cheshire.
On the island there was Luka seeing them approaching the island. Viola saw the Homunculi firing onto them and Cheshire lost control. Bayonetta landed perfectly but Viola not so much. "Quite the warm welcome. So who'll be carrying my luggage?" Bayonetta pulled up her cocky ways.
"That sword isn't just for play, is it kitty?" Bayonetta asked.
"The fuck? Don't call me "Kitty!" Trust me. I can take care of myself!" Viola said.
The duo fought the Homunculi; the man-made bioweapons stood no chance.
They walked around a cliff of the island and saw something in the distance "You're seeing that off in the distance too, right?" Bayonetta asked.
"Yeah, pretty sure those are other worlds in the Multiverse. I bet the people who built this place used to watch over different worlds the same way." Viola said.
They found a Multiverse Portal Generator, the only thing capable of sending someone across worlds "This trip has been full of surprises, hasn't it!" Bayonetta said.
"Is this a Multiverse portal generator?" Viola asked.
"Bayonetta, wait. It might be a bad idea to mess with that." Viola said.
Bayonetta didn't listen and instead walked right into the center "Too late for regrets now, I'm afraid." Bayonetta said.
"Bayonetta!" Viola called out.
"Separate vacations for now. Good luck!" Bayonetta said.
She was in the Ginnungagap, the Chaotic Rift. She traveled to the center of this inter dimensional rift. She ended up in a train she was in a Japan universe. The voice on the train spoke in Japanese "The doors are about to close." Arch Son spoke up "This is alternate universe where your counterpart lives in Japan." Arch Son said.
The train started moving and the Homunculi came crashing in "Guess party time has come." Arch Son said.
Soon a giant Homunculi appeared Iridescent came charging at the train cars the voice spoke up "We will be changing to another track. If you are standing, please hold on to a handstrap or a rail." it said. Bayonetta activities Witch time and summoned Gomorrah and ride on the demon's head.
The whole city was being torn apart by the Homunculi buildings were being erased from existence by the Iridescent. The Iridescent came charging at Bayonetta she jumped off the demon and landed onto the streets shortly after the Iridescent ate the demon.
Landed onto the streets and noticed a red glowing light on Iridescent "Could that be a Chaos Gear?" she wondered.
"Greedy little thing. Perhaps it's time for a crash diet." Bayonetta said.
Down the streets soldiers set up an ambush against the Homunculi. Once the ambush was set the Homunculi attacked the soldiers weapons were ineffective but only one person's wasn't.
Someone shoot a heart on a Homunculi's back. "Does anyone mind if I cut in? Wouldn't want to step on anyone's toes." Bayonetta said. She begins dancing and aims her guns "Don't worry, I know this song by heart." she said.
Bayonetta fight the Homunculi and without any problems she defeated them all. She walked through the streets and found a jukebox she turned around aiming her gun at someone. It was an alternate universe version of Rodin he wore his Japanese looks "Getting us confused for them?" this Rodin asked.
"Must be off your game." he said.
She fired lighting his cigarette and she wasn't aiming at him she shoot a Homunculi instead. "Never been more on." she said.
"Us Rodin have connections throughout the multiverse." he said.
"And the thing is, with all this mess going on, halos are hard to come by…. But chaotic economics has its own unique charms." the alternate Rodin said.
"And you'd like me to help you diversify." Bayonetta said.
"Sharp as any Bayonetta." he said.
He opened shop "Welcome to the Gates of hell." Rodin said.
He offers her a new weapon, the G-piller and begins pole dancing around it.
Bayonetta entered the sewers and found soldiers being endangered by the Homunculi; she saves them and finds images of what appears to be an alternate her and Jeanne in her biker outfit but colored in yellow.
