Audrey Raines Bauer and her group were brought to CTU. George Mason began speaking with her personally, they were friends once. After Audrey's "Legal problems" George Mason was one of those friends who stopped speaking with her. Whether he was genuinely upset with her, or whether he was more worried about his own ambitions, she didn't know.
.
Mason: Hello Audrey.
Audrey: Hello George, it's been a long time.
Mason: Yes it has. You heard about what happened in Virginia?
Audrey: Yes, but I fail to see why you would suspect me and my friends.
Mason: Forgetting for a minute the fact that you are all radicals, sorry "former" radicals, and the fact that you all have criminal records. The homicide bomber apparently used your husband's car.
Audrey: I didn't know that. Our car was stolen.
Mason: I saw the police report. Less than an hour before the bombing. I assume you and Jack didn't keep explosives in this car.
Audrey: Ofcourse not, children were in that car on a regular basis.
Mason: So this bomber stole the car, picked up the explosives, then went to his target. It seems unlikely that an Alqueda terrorist would have stolen a car for this, that risked getting caught and being unable to complete the mission.
Audrey: Maybe it was someone who hated Jack, or me. We made a lot of enemies.
Mason: Yes, you did. It's possible this person had a personal vendetta against Jack, to the point where he was willing to risk failure just for revenge. Which brings up your choice of friends.
Audrey: Do you know why we spend our time with former terrorists? Because few others want to be around us, or them. Truth is, we just want to live our lives in peace, around people who somewhat understand us.
Mason: Where is Jack now?
Audrey: He and Tony got a call from an old informant. They needed to protect this person.
Mason: Tony swore revenge against you and Jack, but apparently you've all made up.
Audrey: It wasn't nearly as easy as you make it sound, it took time.
Mason: If anyone would be that dedicated to revenge against Jack, it would be Tony Almeida. He was at this little league game where your car was stolen.
Audrey: Tony's a marine, he would never bomb returning soldiers and their families.
Mason: You sure about that. If I were Jack, I wouldn't trust Tony to watch my back.

The American embassy is trying to evacuate as many people as possible. There are too many people for them to even make a dent, but they all know what could happen to those left behind. They can even see the Taliban spotters, documenting who is trying to flee to America. Colonel Mcnamara fears what will happen to those left behind after the evacuation is complete, but his orders are not to do anything that could endanger his men, not unless absolutely neccessary. In the meantime two of his marines, Kyle Singer and Rick Bess, are talking.
.
Rick: You know about me and Illiyeen?
Kyle: You mean how you got her pregnant and abandoned her? How she had to sue to make you pay child support?
Rick: Fine, I'm a lousy father. But do you know what they'll do to her for having a child with an american? What they might do to my son?
Kyle: Isn't it a little late to play the concerned father?
Rick: Will you help me get Illiyeen and our son out of here or not?
Kyle: Yes, I will.

Vice-president Keaton has been taken back to the White House. He gets another call from his old friend Dave.
.
Dave: I'm relieved to hear that you're okay.
Keaton: Thank you.
Dave: I was hoping we could talk, in person.
Keaton: It's kind of a busy day around here.
Dave: Please, after all we've been through.
.
Keaton thought about this. He and Dave went through Hell together during the war, and after. Keaton had no doubt that Dave made his mistakes, particularly his recent conviction for insider trading. Dave was scheduled to begin his prison term in six days, Keaton feared that his old friend might do himself some harm. Whatever Dave's mistakes, he owed his friend a lot.
.
Keaton: Okay, I'll come over.

Jack Bauer and Tony Almeida continue to question Melanie. Aslan wouldn't have told her anything she didn't need to hear, but they hoped she might have overheard something. Jack could have helped this girl once, but instead he used her. Aslan used her too, he just had more control over her than Jack. Now, she was probably going to spend the rest of her life in prison, most likely awaiting execution. Melanie seemed to know nothing useful. Perhaps Tony was right, her only use was as bait for Aslan. Jack didn't want to admit this, but they might have little choice but to put Melanie at risk, not if they wanted to stop Aslan.
