Major Barnes and his team prepare to assault the building with Taliban snipers. If these guys are part of the anti-peace faction, they're more likely to shoot at the American embassy in these final hours. Barnes and his fellow marines are mere hours away from going home, and he will do whatever might be neccessary to get them home safely.

Vice-president Keaton sits at his desk, watching news of the withdrawel. Keaton had served in Afghanistan, some of those coming home today were friends of his. Other friends never made it home. For better or worse, it was time to end the war. Keaton also had other concerns at the moment. He had to tell the president the truth, the whole truth. President Allen was notoriously honest, she would never pardon Dave. And that meant that he would have to resign to protect her. It was suppossed to be a soldier's duty, to be willing to sacrifice their life to protect their superior officers. But one never knew if they were capable of this until faced with the situation. And it seemed that Warren Keaton did have the courage to sacrifice himself. Dave was desperate enough to tell everything, even though he'd be facing worse charges himself. Maybe Keaton woud face jail time, maybe not, but his legacy would be forever tainted. All he could do was resign to protect his president.

One of Eric Carter's agents informs him that Aslan has been spotted. He is waiting in an alley, trying to see if Melanie comes out of her room. Eric fears that Aslan will kill himself rather than surrender. Jack leaves the motel room, and makes his way around the alley. He quietly sneaks up on Aslan and grabs him. Aslan knows he is defeated, and attempts to bite down on a cyanide capsule. Jack and two other agents have to restrain him. Jack puts his hand down Aslan's throat to pull it from his mouth, and his hand gets severely damaged in the process. Jack knows he'll need medical attention later, but he's alive and this terrorist leader has been captured.
