During her address to the nation president Allen is informed of the bombing in the movie theatre.

Allen: My fellow Americans, I have just been informed that there has been another bombing on U.S. soil. Specifically a movie theatre, we do not yet know if there are any fatalities. What I can promise is that law enforcement are doing all they can to bring all of those responsible to justice.

Speaker Nathan Templeton is watching this address and discusses this with his chief of staff.

Templeton: So this bombing happened during the president's address?

Jayne: It would seem so mr speaker.

Templeton: I can't help but wonder if the terrorists did this to humiliate the president.

Jayne: Either way this could be used to your advantage.

Templeton: Indeed. But we should be careful, taking advantage of a crisis can easily backfire on us.

Heather and Rudy are watching news coverage of the bombing. They can see Mike being led away in handcuffs. This could set their plans back a little. Rudy calls Jones.

Jones: Why are you breaking radio silence again?

Rudy: Mike got arrested.

Jones: How much evidence do the police have?

Rudy: I don't know, but he won't hold up for long.

Jones: What did you tell him?

Rudy: Not much, but he knows me and Heather and he's seen you.

Jones: I can take care of myself, you two go into hiding until tomorrow.

Rudy: Understood.

Jack Bauer hears about the bombing of the movie theatre, no report yet on how many fatalities. He receives a call from George Mason.

Mason: Jack, you hear about the movie theare?

Jack: Yeah, how many dead?

Mason: So far none, we might have actually gotten very very lucky on this one.

Jack: Thank God for small favors.

Mason: Yeah, and we have a suspect in custody. I highly doubt that this was the terrorists' end game. We could really use your help in interrogating this suspect.

Jack: Yeah, I'll come in.

Split screens show the president resuming her address, medical first responders giving aid to people at the theatre, the embassy in Kabul trying to get back to work, Rudy and Heather going into hiding.

Jack Bauer prepares to leave his home again. His friends see him leaving, knowing he has once again been drawn back into the conflict. It is now night outside, and Jack hopes he can make it home before sunrise, but at this point he can't be certain. He just waks out the door and shuts it behind him.
