The local police have arrived at the apartment. Karen's parents admitted that their daughter recently had an abortion, and wasn't handling it well. Officer McGrady knows that Karen wouldn't be the first teenage girl to commit suicide after having an abortion. It is however unusual for women to commit suicide with a gun. And why would Karen put a silencer on the gun before commiting suicide? There's also a bullet in the wall, was Karen just a very bad shot? McGrady speaks with one of the neighbors, Hanson.
.
Hanson: I heard her arguing with someone. I tried not to listen, but they were very loud?
McGrady: What were they arguing about?
Hanson: From what I could tell she had been pregnant, he convinced her to have it aborted. Now she blamed him for it, told her to get out.
McGrady: Do you remember what time it was?
Hanson: Just before 10. I know because I was waiting to watch "the Adventures of Superman" on Nick at Nite. He left a few minutes before it started. And you might not believe this, but I saw who left that apartment, it was the president's son. Horace I believe his name is.
McGrady: You're telling me that the president's son got into an argument with a girl who is now dead?
Hanson: I see the first family on the news, I know what they look like.

Teddy and Eric Carter go to his trailer. As they drive Teddy tries to excuse his past behavior.
.
Teddy: I never would have gotten involved with these people if I'd known they were terrorists.
Eric: That's how they work. They have to figure out what lines you're willing to cross, and which ones you would never cross. Ofcourse if the subject isn't willing to break the law they have nothing to worry about.
Teddy: Maybe if the army hadn't given me a dishonorable discharge, taken away my vet benefits, my health insurance...
Eric: And maybe if you hadn't executed prisoners who were trying to surrender to you. Maybe if they had shown sympathy to a veteran who might have PTSD. I guess there's plenty of blame to go around.

Heather prepares to leave.
.
Layeq: Where are you going?
Heather: Just down the block for a pack of ciggarettes.
Layeq: It is risky to leave.
Heather: Well if there's a delay I can't make it that long without a smoke.
Rudy: Pick me up a pack and be back quick.
Heather: I'll be back in five minutes.
.
Heather left and walked down the block. Pat sees her and Heather gets in her car. From the window Georgia sees this.
.
Georgia: Rudy, your girlfriend just got into a car with a woman.
Rudy: What?
Georgia: See for yourself.
.
Rudy and Georgia both see Heather drive off with Pat.
.
Rudy: She must have lost her nerve.
Layeq: She has seen our faces, she knows about this safehouse.
Rudy: I realize that. We need to find her and kill her.
