Horace Allen is watching an old re run on Nick at Nite. He tries to concentrate on the show, but his mind keeps going back to Karen. Less than three hours ago they'd been talking, now she was dead. Had she really commited suicide, or had she been murdered? Horace feared that, either way, it was partly his fault. Looking back, maybe he had persuaded her to have the abortion, because he was afraid of the press, or of the responsibilities of fatherhood. Now, the press was likely to go after him anyway. The prolifers would hate him for his involvement in an abortion. A lot of prochoicers would hate him for pressuring Karen to do something she perhaps didn't want to do. And that assumed he wasn't arrested for Karen's murder. The neighbors had heard them arguing, probably within ten minutes of her death. Horace couldn't sleep, he just tried to watch these re runs, and try in vain to forget his troubles.

From his office Dmitry sees some children gathering around a figure, it's the unmistakeable figure of Ded Moroz, the Russian version of Santa Claus. Dmitry assumes that Ded Moroz is part of the upcoming festivities, probably there to give little gifts to children who lost parents in the war in Ukraine. Putin might be there, it would be a good photo op. Dmitry almost feels bad about the fact that this operation will likely end up killing orphaned children, maybe even Ded Moroz. But now is not the time for sentimentality, Dmitry focuses on the money this operation will bring him. For men like Dmitry there was no amount of money that will satisfy them, and human life means less than his own profits.

Gaines receives a call from reverend Adam's daughter, Eve. Gaines had been trying to figure out where to target for their final attack, and she had an idea.

Eve: My new friend Georgia, she has some thoughts. What about baseball games?
Gaines: Baseball, a lot of people would be there.
Eve: Yeah, more so if schools are closed.
Gaines: But won't some people avoid large gatherings?
Eve: Maybe, but our time is running out.
Gaines: I remember, after 9/11, the baseball season resumed within a week. People came out, it became a source of pride to defy the terrorists. Yeah, let me make certain that our operatives can do it.

Kyle Singer arrives to pick up Vaachaspati and bring him back to the embassy.

Kyle: Ready to go?
Vaachaspati: No, I am staying.
Kyle: My country is leaving in 14 hours. You stay now I can't guarantee we can ever come back for you. If Hekmetyar and the others find out you helped us you will be in great danger.
Vaachaspati: I know, but my country will need doctors. As a muslim, I feel I have a duty to stay and help with reconstruction.
Kyle: Okay, if you're absolutely certain.
Vaachaspati: I am. Thank you my friend.

Nina: Stop hurting him. You stop and I'll tell you something valuable.
Estaban: Very well. Start talking.
Nina: There's going to be another attack against America, before sunrise.
Estaban: Do you know something specific, or are you making an educated guess?
Nina: It's going to be an attack against president Allen. It's time sensitive so, before I say anything else, get your boss on the phone and let me negotiate with him directly.
