It didn't feel that long before I felt a hand touch my shoulder with the purpose of shaking me awake. Opening my eyes from that one touch, I roll more towards my back so I could see who had woken me. Taking note in my groggy state that Haming was still curled up beside me. Blinking a few times I clear my eyes enough to see Hadvir looking down at me. "You need to wake up." He whispers so he wouldn't disturb the boy next to me. Setting up I rub my eyes with a yawn. "Morning already?" I question just before I stretch finding my muscles still sore from my fight with the river last night. "Yes." He answers simply so I stand and run my fingers through my hair in a way to make it seem like it was somewhat brushed. "Alright then, thank you for waking me."
"Do you think you will need anything for your trip?" He suddenly asks as I stand and stretch my back. The yawn that followed was unplanned, where's coffee when you need it? "If I find that I need to protect myself I should probably take along some sort of medical provisions. Like bandages or something." Walking to the table I look down to find some bread had already been placed there. How long has it been since I've eaten? I wondered. "You do have a strange way to say things." Hadvir comments as I finally decided I should probably at least take some bread with me on the road. "Here, I had picked these up for you before I woke you." I give a sound of question as I turn around to face him, but only just in time to see small white words appear in my line of sight. "Huh? Healing potion and stamina potion? What are those?" I question dumbfoundedly and he nearly laughs again. "All you need to know is if you're hurt the healing potion will heal you. If you're tired the stamina potion will get you going again." I'm still not following but alright. I guess I'll figure it out sooner or later. "Thank you. I guess I'll be going." I speak as I slip my bread into a small little pouch on my armor successfully causing those white words to pop up again saying, bread was added to my inventory. Weird.
"I'll be back to check on Haming as soon as I'm done meeting with the Jarl." I find those words were unnecessary as I watch Hadvir's head disappear downstairs. With a sigh, I walk out of the house and shake my head. Head straight out or see if I can sell something, Hadvir saw it necessary to give me a health and stamina potion, so shouldn't I be safe and see if I can manage to pick up another? Couldn't hurt I might need it. Besides, I still need money for those ingots and a leather strip and I still have no idea how I'm going to afford those. Finding a building with a small sign hanging out front, I look up at it. "Riverwood trader huh. Sounds like as good a place as any. I guess." Walking inside I come upon a scene of a man wearing a red shirt with short dark hair and shaped facial hair speaking with a blond girl wearing a dress.
"I'll get it myself then." She speaks causing me to tilt my head. Get what? "No you won't, you are not going anywhere near that place." The guy responds rather angrily. For him to sound like that I wonder how long they've been arguing. "Well somebody's got to do it." Stepping fully inside, I let the door shut behind me drawing their attention.
"Welcome! Everything's for sale everything! Go ahead and take a look around, I'm sure I have what you're looking for, and if not let me know I just might have it stored away somewhere." Nodding to him I glance around the small shop. First taking notice of the cooking area before the bottles of red, green, and blue up on a shelf. "How much would two healing potions cost?" I question him confused since there were no prices on anything in here. "Ah, just thirty-eight gold, and their yours!" Wow, he seems a little too happy compared to what I just walked in on. Reaching into my little pouch attached to my armor, I found my eyes widening as the same words appear, just like when I had taken this stuff from that dead guy in Helgen. Only this time, My name was on top. Underneath the categories, I see that the guy who I had taken everything from, must have had thirty gold exactly but that was still eight pieces too short so I reach up to my inventory and bring up everything I have on me.
Let's see, a dagger that I probably won't ever use, a leather helmet that I hate, why the heck did this guy have a wooden plate? Oh well, I can get rid of that too. "How much will you give me for these?" I ask as I pull the three items out of my inventory and hold them up to him. He thinks about it as he looks at them. "How about a single gold for the plate, three for the dagger, and five for the helmet." Wow, those seem really low but that actually makes nine gold so I can buy the potions and still have a gold piece left. "Deal, I'll give you these and twenty-nine gold for two health potions." I figured I'd try this, that way he doesn't hand me the gold and I hand it back plus twenty-nine. That would just seem really… unproductive.
"That would be thirty-eight gold exactly so you've just bought yourself those potions." He chuckles and as he turns to walk away I set the items on the counter before going back into that inventory list and pulling out twenty-nine gold. Which surprisingly comes out in a little orange bag. Cool, here I thought I was going to have to hold all twenty-nine pieces. Setting it on the counter I take the potions as he offers them, and he picks up the bag. "Pleasure doing business with ya!" He says happily again confounding me with his tone. It has to be fake. "What's wrong? You want something else?" He asks this time finally looking confused and losing that smile.
"Is there something wrong? I walked in hearing you two arguing over something." I decide to ask, even though I know it's none of my business. It's just it was bad enough to be in a heated argument so it has to be important right? "Oh uh, it's just, well. We sorta had a bit of a. uh. A break-in. But not to worry we still have plenty to sell!" There he goes acting happy again. What the heck! He just tells me they had a break-in and now he's smiling again?! "Did anything get taken?" I ask him curiously causing his demeanor to waver as he shifts his weight from one foot to another. "Just something I've had for a while. It's more of a paperweight really. A decoration I keep on my counter. It's a golden claw." Really? A paperweight and that's causing them to argue. Then again he did say it was golden and since you pay with gold here my guess is. It's not just gold plated like most of the gold things I find around my home, so it would be worth quite a lot.
I'm not sure if I should get involved but… There's a sadness in his eyes gnawing at me. I sigh and take a step back so I can look from him to the woman. "I could… try, to get it back for you." I nearly whimper as I manage to choke out those words. Damn my heart. "You, you would do that?! Thank you, Thank you! If you bring it back I'll make sure you are rewarded!" Rewarded? Nice, I wonder how much. That's some serious motivation. This realization draws a smile from me. "I'll show you the way." The girl says suddenly causing the relief that had once been showing on the trader's face to vanish. "No, no you won't go anywhere near that place! Let our friend go." He shouts towards her causing my shoulders to slump. Man… they're at it again. "Fine, I'll just take her as far as the edge of town alright."
"Good, and no further!" Wow is he controlling or what? Well, I can kind of understand, even though I have no idea what relationship is between the two of them, but if thieves took this golden claw then he just doesn't want her to get hurt. When I look at it that way, it's a really sweet gesture even if it's like a brother and sister sort of way but still. "Please, don't let my sister get hurt." The merchant finally says as the girl walks past me. I kind of knew it. "Don't worry, I won't let her go any further even if she tries."
"Thank you." I smile at him before following the girl out of the store. I really need to get to WhiteRun. But I guess since she seems so set on showing me where to go then I'll let her show me. Then when I'm done talking to the Jarl I'll come back and try to get their claw back. As we walk I see two others standing in the road just beneath the wall.
I find my eyes widening as a gasp escapes me seeing not only the blond from last night but Mr. Strawberry blond from Helgen. So he made it too! Wait… The blond guy said I noticed them... So that means they got out of Helgen together. I found my right palm meeting my forehead before I could stop myself. Duh... Why didn't I figure out that he wasn't the only one that made it out? So stupid! "Hey, you." The blond calls out just as we draw closer to them. I give him a smile as I return my hand to my side. Without even glancing at the girl that was 'guiding' me to the edge of town I run up to him. "Hey, yourself." I smirk putting my hand on my hip causing him to smile. "You said you were going to WhiteRun today right?" I nod to him curiously. Yeah, so what's it to you? I wonder but actually manage not to say anything about it. "My friend here is going there as well. You two are about the same age so maybe you both can travel together." I watch the corners of the blond guy's lips turn up in a smirk that causes my brows to furrow. Is he trying to set me up with his friend? Seriously?! Shaking my head I look up at the muscle-bound strawberry blond only now realizing his eyes were such a light blue they almost looked like stars or something. Wow, so pretty. Stopstopstop, don't even go there Twilight. But really, that color is amazing.
"Why are you going to WhiteRun?" I ask him with a tilt of my head as he folds his large arms across his chest. He didn't seem at all happy with the idea of traveling with me. "Why do you want to know?" Wow, talk about rude. "Well, before I decide if I will travel with you I wanted to know your reason for going. If you are just going to sightsee or something I'll go without you. I have some important business to discuss with the Jarl so I do not have time for someone to drag their feet." I watch his eyes narrow upon me nearly causing me to smirk. I know I know, I'm playing with fire. This guy could break me in half with his bare hands from how muscular he is. But really, he wanted to be rude first. "I need to speak with the jarl as well. I'm requesting him to send reinforcements here to river wood in case that dragon comes back." I found my jaw drop open before I could stop it as my eyes widen. I nearly laugh at the irony. "That's the same reason I was going. But, since you're going I think only one needs to do the task. So how about I hang back and help someone out who needs it, at someplace called Bleak-Falls barrow." I wave my hand dismissively then walk past him. "Good luck with the Jarl, muscle boy." I give him a smirk as the two turn to watch me walk away. I swear even though strawberry blonde's brows furrowed in confusion Mr. blond's face broke out in a grin.
Wow, he really is trying to play matchmaker. Rolling my eyes I look ahead of me. "Friends of yours?" The girl giggles causing me to shrug. "Not really, I don't even know their names… YET." This causes her to laugh as she watches me. "Good luck with that. They are both some good-looking boys." Yeah, yeah, I know but I can't deal with liking someone. I just want to know their names so I stop referring to them from their hair color in my mind. Seriously, there are probably a lot of blonds out there so if I start calling everyone blond then I'll get confused. As we reach the bridge she stops walking, then points towards the mountain path I had noticed on my map. "You just take the path on the left and it will lead you up to bleak falls barrow. That's where the bandits are hiding." Bandits huh. Well, this is really going to suck. "Thanks, I'll try my best to get your claw back." She smiles at me as she moves her right hand towards her left hip. "Just be careful alright. No matter how much it means to my brother, it's not worth someone's life." I nod at her words with a smile, I definitely couldn't agree more. No inanimate object is worth someone dying over. "I'll be careful so don't worry."
It wasn't long until I found myself walking through the snow with snowflakes falling all around me. The cold air was only welcomed by my own temperature. After having left that girl on the bridge, I had stopped just up the path after killing a wolf to see Mr. strawberry blond say goodbye to his blond friend and take off at a run. I had felt my cheeks heat up remembering what I had said to him. I really am stupid, I acted that way just because I knew his friend was trying to set us up together and strawberry blond wasn't at all happy with the idea. Even though that is why I acted like that, I'm still embarrassed. There is no way in hell I'm going to do that again just to try and get under someone's skin who seemed to not like me the second he laid eyes on me. Shaking my head I silently cuss at my stupidity just before I heard something smack against the rock next to me. Looking down I see something in the snow so I pick it up. A. an arrow? What the hell! Something else hit the rocks just then and this time I see an arrow rolling in the snow at my feet.
Someone is shooting arrows at me?! As I realize this I look up and try to see through the falling snow. Managing to spot a torch or something, I see someone moving from side to side just before I hear another arrow hit the rock next to me. Man, do they really stink this bad at aiming? Pulling my bow with my right hand I sigh as I put the arrow I had picked up, against the wood of the bow so its end was notched on the string. Growing up, I didn't want dolls or toys like any other girl my age. Nope, I was weird. All I wanted was weapons. Mainly bow and arrows. Of course, my grandmother would only get me toy ones until I reached the eighth grade but still. They helped me learn how to aim at least, before I was able to even touch the real thing. My first was a little compound bow that fit awkwardly in my small for my age hands. But not like oddly small. No, my hands were just slightly smaller than one of the girls in my class. It still meant though, that my hands couldn't hold my compound bow properly. Raising my bow I pull back the string so the arrow was perfectly level with my arm. I had to push past the fact that the string would tend to smack against my arm when I released the bow. I always hated the arm guards, but as I lined up my shot and heard another arrow land near me I exhaled slowly to steady my arms.
"This is how you shoot." I mutter before releasing the arrow and string. Letting the recoil of the bow launch the arrow into the air at an alarming rate. I've always ever used compound bows. They were quite simple to pull back due to the pulley system that made it a compound. But, normal bows if shot correctly could shoot much farther. I felt my arm sting as the string snaps against the leather, and I nearly smirk knowing it was nothing compared to doing this with short sleeves. The arrow vanished from my line of sight not long after having released it. But when I see the one who had been shooting arrows at me hit the ground I knew I had hit my mark. A life is precious yes, no one should ever think that petty vengeance or an object is more important. Even so, if someone is trying to kill you. I don't see why you can't at least wound them in order to get them to stop. I think that yes, but as I watch I don't see whoever had been shooting at me move the slightest bit. "I wonder even though I was aiming for her arm if I hit her somewhere more critical?" Well… shit. I killed her… looking down at my feet I notice the arrows she had shot accumulated against the toe of my boots. If she had aimed just slightly more to her right, she would have shot me even before I knew she was there. Why do I feel so bad about killing her when she easily could have killed me? Picking up the arrows I slip them into the quiver on my back just before I hear the snow crunching rapidly. Raising my gaze I see two men running through the snow in my direction. One holding something really huge that looked like it could crush me if he even tries to hit me with it. As they get closer I put my bow away and withdraw my sword.
As they drew closer I noticed the guy in front was wearing a suit of armor not exactly shiny like what I would expect but still it's metal. One my sword would not easily go through and the large weapon he was holding. To my dismay was an overly large war hammer. "Fuck me sideways." I cuss under my breath. This definitely was not bolding well for me. I haven't even made it to bleak falls pass yet and already I think I'm going to die. "Easy Twilight. Just don't let that thing touch you." I try to calm myself down even as I hear him give a grunt with the exertion for him to swing such a huge weapon. Jumping back I feel the air from the war hammer through my leather armor. Shit! Even though he can barely swing that thing if he lands one hit… I'm done for! Wait… I found myself smirking as I watch him raise the hammer above his head again before he runs towards me. Another grunt later and the hammer hit's the snow at my feet. Leaping over it I raise my sword. There is only one place I can see that my sword will cut through just… gods please forgive me. With my silent prayer, I bring my blade down into the point at his neck between his helmet and his armor. I watch his eyes widen in that split second as realization crosses over his eyes. He knew he stood no chance of getting out of this. His armor was too heavy for him and slowed his movements then his hammer took too much effort to even move. He had damned his own life just because he thought he would be safer with what he had chosen. "I'm sorry." I whisper as he falls into the snow, his hammer slipping from his grip as I pull my sword from his neck.
With no time to push past the fact, I had just taken two lives the other one was right up on me. He was wearing armor that didn't even cover his chest. Having the leather crisscross over his chest down to his fur-looking bottoms. There was a single oval metal plate holding the straps in place just above his heart. I guess that is supposed to protect the vital organ but... There are others that can be severely damaged and just as deadly that aren't protected. How stupid can this guy be? He was wielding a sword that looked much like my own only larger. I'm guessing instead of just a normal double-edged blade, that would be considered a great sword or a broad sword. Typically a two-handed weapon because of the amount of steel it takes to create one. It's another heavy weapon. Leaping back I try to put some distance in-between us but the end of his sword catches my armor followed by a tearing sound. It was sharp enough to tear into my armor without much resistance and as I watch him bring the sword back so he was ready to strike again I nearly found myself cursing. He's able to wield this one faster than the other. As the blade comes down on me again I find the only thing I can do is grab the handle of my sword with both hands and raise it so his blade catches my own.
The weight of the broad sword only added to the force that was brought down on me and I felt my knees quiver beneath it. As if my bones themselves were recoiling from the hit. Stepping back with my right leg I use it as leverage to push with all my might and shove the heavy metal away from me. The guy chuckles in triumph as if he could tell that his sword alone had nearly brought me down to my knees. I can't let him do that again! I shout at myself in my head and as the sword raises back up into the air I take in a shaky breath, before stepping forward and shoving my blade out towards him. The lack of armor left little resistance as I felt my blade slide into his torso just beneath his sternum. His eyes widen as I hear him exhale in a cough. Blood now dripping from the corners of his mouth even before I twist my right hand turning the blade sideways. Making the hole I had created larger with the turn of my sword before I pull it from his abdomen. He's really going to die now. I watch as he hits the snow with a thump. His sword falling from his grasp to clank against the rocks beneath our feet.
I watch as he lays there wheezing, struggling for breath, as blood darkens the snow around him. "You are going to die and I am terribly sorry. If you had not attacked I wouldn't have had to defend myself. I can quicken your death so you no longer suffer but I am afraid that is all I can do for you now." Shaking my head as tears streak down my cheeks from my silent pain. I raise my sword and bring it down onto his body so the metal lodges into his head. With how light my sword is, taking the head would take more strength than I have, and since he was already suffering I didn't want to put him in more pain. The skull was the quickest way. Seeing the blood from both bodies coating my feet I feel my stomach give a sudden lurch. Dropping to my knees, my sword hit's the ground as I grab my stomach. The sudden bile coating my tongue was too much for me to handle as my stomach gave another lurch. Opening my mouth I try to rid my stomach of its contents but from not having eaten in days all I could seem to do is dry heave. Every now and then bile would burn my throat with what little water I have taken in, but I was mainly writhing on my knees. The sound of attempted vomiting echo off the rocks of the mountain as my chest and stomach begin to ache horribly from the urge.
I just killed three people. I deserve to die. I deserve all of the pain I am feeling now! I silently yell at myself as more tears coat my cheeks. After what felt like hours my stomach finally settled and I was able to wipe my eyes free from my tears and my mouth from the bile. It was self-defense, they were trying to kill me. It was either me or them. I have to get up, I can't stay here forever. Even though I told myself this I found my knees refusing to move. I had to fight my own body just to be able to stand. Looking down at the body nearest me I bite my lip. The sight alone almost caused another fit from my stomach but… I have no other choice, I need money. If there is one thing to learn from what just happened. "This world is dangerous." I need to be able to properly protect myself, and even though I don't even want to think it. I'm going to have to kill the bandits that took the claw. They'll attack me on sight just like these guys and I doubt I'm sneaky enough to make it past every single one of them. Shouldn't I just go back to Riverwood then? Am I really emotionally strong enough to do this again? Even though I'm asking myself this I already know. If I go back empty-handed then Hadvir was right. I'm weak and shouldn't venture out of town. "I'm not weak." I repeat my words from last night and curl my fingers into fists. I was able to beat up guys older than me when I was merely ten years old. I'm far from weak. Kneeling I sheath my sword before reaching to the bodies. I take everything they have just like with the corpse in Helgen. Only this time as I look at the armor, the 'Studded Armor' the last guy had been wearing looks different than it had on him. It also gave me more protection than what I was wearing right now. So I equipped it along with his boots and just took everything else into my inventory. Even though by the time I was done I could barely stand up and trudge my way to the first one I had killed.
Making it to her I felt my heart pounding in my chest before I took everything she had. Luckily her arrows were the same as mine but she was using a longbow instead of the hunting bow I currently have. Just looking at the stats on it in this… inventory view, I could tell it weighs less than the one I am using already. Weight is the main key, if I weigh myself down too much I would not be able to fight as effectively or move as swiftly. Even though I know this I found myself still wishing to use my hunting bow. So far, it is only two pounds heavier and I have been using this since I got it. Keeping it on me shouldn't hinder me any more than I already am. Moving into their fort, I look around finding more swords and a healing potion. I smile with my finds before forcing my legs up the steps. I could feel my strength draining quickly by the time I reached the top landing. Seeing how small it was I nearly shout in aggravation from hauling everything up so far until I notice the treasure chest in front of me. Reaching down I grab the lid and lift it only to find another sword, gold, and another health potion. All good, but that means I will have to carry more down. Grabbing the gold and potion I proceed to drop everything I was carrying into the chest. I just need to remember to pick these up on my way back. Or come back later so I can sell them after I get the claw. I nod to myself and shut the lid before moving back down to the ground, and continuing my way up the path towards bleak falls barrow.
Coming to a stop with the steps up to the barrow just barely in view. I take in a deep breath before reaching into my inventory and retrieving my stamina potion. I could definitely use a pick me up right now, if just to keep my eyes open after the fight I had gone through then carrying their heavy stuff into that chest. To top it off I walked all the way up here directly afterward. The only break I had was when I was dry heaving and that only made my muscles ache. Pulling the cork off of the bottle I close my eyes as I put the bottle to my lips. Well, it's not supposed to kill me so… down the hatch. Throwing my head back so the thick liquid rolls down my throat. Automatically I nearly spit the foul-tasting stuff out before I could stop myself. Reaching up I plug my nose and force myself to swallow the contents. As soon as nothing else hit my tongue I pull the bottle away and wrinkle my nose, as I look down at the green glass. "Oh, my Gawd that's nasty." I pout as I smack my lips together and stick my tongue out. I do feel a lot better now but. Damn the taste is still there! I started wiping my tongue with my hand furiously trying to get the taste out of my mouth before it suddenly dawned on me. Smacking my forehead with my palm I silently cuss myself for my stupidity. Reaching into my pouch with my other hand I look into the food section of my inventory and retrieve the bread I had brought with me from Hadvir's aunt's and uncle's.
Furiously biting into the dry bread I nearly moan from the taste difference suddenly dancing over my taste buds. "It's so good." I smile before stuffing another hand full of it into my mouth and putting the rest of it back into my inventory for later. I was nearly tempted to lick my fingers but instead, I reach into the snow and pull out a handful just to wash down the rest of the bread. After swallowing the snow I clap my hands in front of me. Alright, let's do this! I shout in my head before pulling my bow. During my walk, it had weighed heavily on my mind what I had just done. I had taken three lives that I don't know if they were part of the game or people like me. But since Hadvir never mentioned once that he wanted to go home, and kept telling me how I have a weird way of putting things I'm fairly certain that he is part of the game. Which is sad really, he's actually really cute and sweet. I remember on my walk through Riverwood before running up to the two guys I had seen something that I didn't quite put two and two together before. There was a boy in the town on the steps to a building that even though he was wearing different colored clothes than Haming he looked a lot like him. Making me think that Haming too is just part of the game unlike I had first thought. I was brought here looking like I do in my world so anyone who looks like someone else can't be a real person. I bet I'll be seeing people just like the ones I just killed back on the path within this barrow. Normal people wouldn't just up and attack a stranger because it would mean they could possibly kill a real person. With that logic in mind, I think I can handle what needs to be done here.
Knowing my luck, I'm the only real person in this world but it can't hurt to be cautious when not dealing with the things Hadvir had told me about. It's safe to assume that anything he mentioned, is just a part of the game since being a game person he wouldn't know about anyone that isn't a part of it right? "Yes. All these people are just part of the game. They aren't real." And with those words, I withdraw my bow and ready an arrow. Crouching low to the ground I watch the tops of the steps for any sign of movement. As soon as I see something moving at the top of the stairs I aim down my arrow lining up my shot and follow it until it stops moving. Releasing the arrow I let the string smack against my new studded bracers, preventing the sting that would have happened. I watch as the figure drops and rolls down the stairs just before I see something else move. Running in the direction of the downed game character. Smirking to myself I withdraw another arrow and line up another shot. Back home I had practiced with my bow so much I was only satisfied when I could hit my mark nearly every time I aimed. I guess all those long hours of repetitive actions are coming in handy. I can say with almost complete certainty that I had caught the last one in the heart now... This one will go down too just like the last. Releasing my arrow I find myself getting some semblance of joy as I watch the body bounce off the steps in its tumble. Is it wrong I'm starting to enjoy this knowing that these aren't real people? Nah, it's just like how so many play games like this in my world. If it was wrong they wouldn't make games that you could kill people in.
Moving up slowly to the bodies I had just downed. I quickly retrieve their inventory and yank my arrows from their flesh before readying my bow again and making my way up the steps. All this game will do is further enhance the skills I already possess until I can go home. I shouldn't look at it in any other way than that. I wanted desperately for me time and now I have it so I need to enjoy it. I felt a smile curve my lips as I turn towards the doors of the barrow just in time to see another bandit. This one spotted me and drew his sword. "Who's there?!" He calls as he looks around. Giggling aloud I kneel on one knee letting the snow turn my skin red. I watch as he steps closer to me still looking around. How blind can this guy be?! I'm right here. "I'm going in there, and there is nothing you can do about it." I call out to him officially showing him my location. "I will not let you!" He calls as he starts running towards me. It wasn't until he was closer that his eyes widen seeing I had already trained my arrow on him. Releasing the arrow I smirk mere seconds before it lodges into his chest through that small plate metal. I guess it doesn't actually stop anything, even arrows. "I told you." I call to him before standing.
As I walk towards him I hear a sudden burst of music that causes my eyes to widen and I look around. What. Where's that music coming from! As quickly as it began it suddenly stopped. Hesitantly this time I kneel next to the bandit and empty his inventory. This time on the bottom of the list I see something flashing. "Level up?" I question as I read it allowed. Once his inventory is empty I tap the flashing words causing another tab to open. This time blocking out everything in front of me and surrounding me in a black I've only seen when I had been unconscious. "Wait what?!" I call out before something shows up in front of me with blue, orange, and green like clouds behind star-like icons. Turning around in a circle as I stand noticing different icons next to each other like the constellations. Only this way I didn't have to look up at the sky and try to pick them out amongst the other stars. These are glowing bright and prominent against the sky-like backdrop. Another thing floated seemingly down over the others asking Magicka, health, and stamina. So far I haven't really been hurt because of my bow and I don't know any magic. Raising my hand without hesitation I click stamina and smile as my body suddenly felt lighter. That's nifty! The constellations were now back in my line of sight. Is there something I need to do here?
"Illusion, conjuration, destruction, restoration, alteration, enchanting, smithing, heavy armor, block, two-handed, one-handed, archery, light armor, sneak, lock picking, pickpocket, speech, and alchemy. So many constellations." I mutter after I read through all of them. I could see a large number one on top of my line of sight probably because I can only choose one. Looking over the stars again I bring my right hand up to my chin and cup it. The first ones have to be magic like the mage stone, now enchanting I haven't the foggiest idea what that is so I haven't used it. Smithing would be forging right? So I haven't done that. Heavy armor is like that steel armor that guy was wearing, two-handed is like the broad sword that much is easy to figure out, I have a couple of points on the block but probably because I had used my sword to block that guy's attack. My main ones are one-handed, archery, and light armor but somehow I have points on sneak and speech. I think I should focus on the ones I mainly use rather than the ones I've done but have no idea of when I did. So I need to choose between bow, one-handed, or light armor. With light armor, the star basically says I would take less damage when I am hit. So if I am ever hit it won't hurt as bad. But I mainly use my bow for distant attacks. If my bows do more damage I don't have to worry so much about missing my mark right? Then again I've had to use my sword for close fighting. Gah! I don't know which one to choose! I begin pacing back and forth looking at the three constellations in question as I run through the fights I've done in my head. Which one, which one, which one.
"I know!" I call out to no one before touching the bright star on light armor. "I enhanced my stamina bypassing my health so I should do something in order to protect what health I have!" Smiling to myself I finally tap exit and watch as the sight before me disappears. This is actually really cool! Now bleak falls barrow! I'm ready for you! Giggling to myself I move up towards the heavy doors and all sounds cease from me. Alright, putting my hands against the cold metal I simply try to push my way inside yet, the doors wouldn't budge. Oh, come on! I shout in my head before digging my feet against the ground and using all of my weight as I push my shoulder against the door. Grunting escapes from me as I push with everything I have, the door finally slowly begins to open. Just a little more! I tell myself as I continue to push, the door groans with protest but, as soon as enough of an opening was made that I could slip inside. I make a mad leap just before the door swings shut behind me.
Panting I drop to one knee in order to rest after the work it took just for me to open that thing. I glance behind me at the metal doors. Why the hell would someone make doors so freakin heavy?! I just don't understand! It was then talking catches my attention and I look forward to the glow of light on the other end of the large room. I was far enough away I couldn't quite make out what they were saying so I begin to slowly move forward. Putting my weight on my toes I crouch to take up as little room as possible. The air inside made me desperately wish I was back out in the cold. It's hot, musty, and I swear I smell something decaying. Just as I thought that, I notice two dead bodies lying about and dead rodent-looking creatures. Yup, definitely something decaying. As I come upon one of the dead rodents I look down at it curiously. Ok, I know I can take everything from the dead bodies but what about disgusting dead animals? Just as the thought comes to my mind I find myself reaching out toward the long-dead rodent as my nose curls in disgust. Why do I have to touch everything I want to look at?! This is so disgusting!
My fingers barely brush against the coarse matted fur of the all too cold body when I see a similar whitelist show up in my gaze. Skeever huh. So that's what this thing is called. And the only thing I can take is its tail? Why would I even want it?! Touching the tail it comes up further into view with another tab. Skeever Tail weight two-tenths of a pound worth three gold with four unknowns beneath it. This is so weird and disgusting at the same time. I think I'll take it and see what it's for. Nodding to myself I click take all avoiding the button that says I can eat it. I mean really why would I do that?! I'm barely even able to handle knowing I'm carrying this thing around! Once the words disappear I look ahead of me past the edge of two pillars. I can just make out two silhouettes standing near the fire talking though, I find myself wondering if I should get closer to hear what they say or just shoot? Yeah… I'll shoot. Withdrawing my hunting bow, I retrieve an arrow and ready it. Aiming for the man whose back is currently to me before letting my arrow fly. This time the man didn't fall like the others. He turns around retrieving his broad sword leaving me confused. Why the hell didn't he die?! The others did on the first shot because I aim for vital organs. Why didn't he?! Oh my Gawd, don't tell me the game characters get stronger when I level up!
