Note: So i decided to take a different approach when it comes to Ryan's curse and how i love bashing Jay...but i promise she will be okay.
The next morning Jay woke up early and headed into the kitchen. She smiled at Chad and Joel.
"Morning little lady".
"Morning Joel."
Chad frowned at how tired she looked. "Jay are you okay?". He walked over and felt her forehead noticing it was a little warm.
"Yeah i never slept well Ryan woke up with a nightmare". She answered rubbing her tired eyes. She gripped the table as her vision got blurry.
"Jay hey". Joel said gripping her waist.
"I'm okay i just need to eat.". She assured him. "Look i better get changed i have practice". She pulled away and may her way to her room just as the rangers got called to fight. "Be careful".
Jay walked to her room. She pulled out her uniform. "Ugh!". Sher cried holding her stomach. "Oh my God!" She cried as her stomach had a black streak running up the middle. Jay's vision got blurry. She reached out for her bed but it was too late her world went dark.
The rangers got back from their fight a bit battered and bruised. Carter helped Ryan walk in, he was concerned with what he saw glowing under Ryan's suit. "Guys Jay's bag is still here i thought she had practice?"
"Yeah Joel she did". Dana answered. "Perhaps it got cancelled".
"Yeah or maybe she didn't go, she wasn't feeling great this morning". Chad informed them.
"I will check on her". Ryan offered and walked down the hall. Ryan entered his room. "Jay?". He walked forward towards the bathroom when his foot hit something. He looked down to see another foot. "Jay!". He knelt down and turned her over. "Jay? come on wake up". He pleaded thats when he saw her stomach.
He swallowed as he lifted her shirt a litle above her belly button revealing a black streak almost like a vein that had formed with the shape of a snake's head.
"Ryan, Jay isn't-" Dana started as she entered the room. "Jaylynn!". She cried noticing Ryan had her in his arms. "Ryan's what happened?"
"I don't know i found her like this". Ryan told his sister showing Dana her stomach.
"Ryan what is that?"
"Its like mine". Ryan stuttered out. "Look lets get her on her bed there is something i need to tell you". Ryan lifted his sister up and put her on top of her bed.
Dana called in the others. They all stood as Ryan lifted the shirt up from his back revealing the tattoo. "Its a going away present from Diabolico, at first i thought it was a nightmare until i saw it for myself. Everytime i morph its going to crawl up my back until it reaches my neck and destroys me".
"I don't understand why does Jay have it to?" Joel wondered. "And hers is different wouldn't they be the same?"
"Look that's what we have to find out". Carter spoked up from the edge of Jay's bed.
"D-Dana?" Jay whispered as her eyes opened.
"Jay". Dana whispered walking over. "Are you okay?"
Jay nodded slowly. "Something's wrong with me".
"I know honey i know, look we will figure it out okay". Dana told her with a smile. "Are you still up for going to practice?"
"Yeah".
"Okay one of us will give you a ride but Jay if anything happens you call us right away okay?"
"Okay Dana i promise". Dana helped her off the bed and led her to the rover. Jay got into it along with Carter who got behind the wheel.
"Jay are you sure your okay?" Carter asked once they got to the gym.
"Yeah, Carter?"
"Yeah?"
"I had a dream while i was out. Ryan has one to doesn't he?"
"He does but Jay we don't know how they are connected but i promise we will until we do he can't morph". Carter answered the scared teen. "Look i will be back in an hour once practice is over".
Jay waved as she ran to the gym. Practice last for an hour. She walked out of the locker room. "Not again". She groaned as her vision got blurry. She never had time to react when she was grabbed from behind by a battling. A hand covering her mouth.
"You feel it don't you?" Vypra spoke appearing in front of her. "Take her to the lair. The cobra will be pleased". The battlings took Jay through a portal.
Carter pulled up to the school. He couldn't help nut smile as the players ran out laughing ans smiling. He never saw Jay. "Riley!?"
"Hey Carter!". Riley greeted. "Are you here for Jay?"
"Yeah, is she still inside?"
"Yeah she had to grab her bag, you can go in if you want i better get home". Riley ran to her ride home.
Carter walked inside the school. "Jay? Jay you still here?". he whipped around as he heard a noise behind him. "Vypra".
"Red ranger".
"What are you doing here?" Carter hissed.
"Oh i had to collect a package.".
"Vypra i swear if you hurt her". Carter spat.
"Oh trust me its not me hurting her you see Ryan may have a curse but Diabolico got creative. Everytime Ryan morphs his cobra moves up but with little Jaylynn her Cobra spreads poison through her body which is very toxic and works alot faster. By the state of hers she maybe have until sunset". Vypra informed him. "The question is who will die first Ryan if he continues to morph or little Jay whose life is wasting away as we speak".
As Vypra vanished Carter sped back to the base. Carter got out of the rover and ran to the others.
"Carter? Carter i thought you were picking up Jay?" Joel asked.
"Vypra got there first. Guys i know the connection. Jay's tattoo is different but in a way the same as Ryan's but the difference is Jay's cobra released poison"
"What?" Chad asked covering his mouth.
"When Ryan morphed it began to spread, every time Ryan morphed it spread faster. Vypra told me that she may have only until sunset". Carter told the rangers as well as Captain Mitchell.
"Then i will stop it". Ryan spoke from behind everyone. "I need to destroy it.I know where the lair is. I promise i will get her back, i got her into this mess i will get her out of it".
Ryan ran out of the base as a man on a mission to destroy his curse and to bring his family home.
Cobra's Lair...
"Let me go freaks!" Jaylynn growled as they tied her hands behind her back. The also tied rope around her chest pinning her arms to her sides. She cried out as she was lifted from the ground by a crane. "Put me down!".
"Don't worry little brat you feel the poison spreading, you know you don't have long".
Jay nodded weakly as her body was weakening by the minute. "The rangers will save me Vypra". She wheezed out. Vypra left them alone.
"Jaylynn!" Ryan shouted as he ran into the lair. He turned as the cobra appeared. "This is the end of the line for you".
Jaylynn weakly lifted her head. "Ryan, help". She managed as her chest got tighter. "Ryan, its okay to morph i trust you".
"Jay you hang on alright". Ryan yelled out in fear as her eyes closed. Ryan hesitated but he brought his wrist up. "Titanium Power!".
"Foolish ranger knowing both of you are about to be destroyed". The cobra taunted shooting lasers casuing Ryan to fall to the ground.
Ryan charged managing to land a kick against the snake only to be tossed into rubble. His back arched as he felt the tattoo move. He looked to see Jaylynn's stomach glow. The snake grabbed him by the arm hitting him. He was then thrown into a tomb demorphing as he landed.
The cobra laughed as he sent lasers from his eyes. Ryan dove out of the way and as he did so he threw his axe into a pillar causing it to crumble and crush the snake. Ryan felt the weight of the tattoo lift as the curse was broken. "Jay!" He cried as he lowered her down. "Jaylynn". He whispered as he lifted her shirt to see her snake had disappeared.
She coughed as her eyes opened. "You did it". She managed.
"Come on lets get you home". She climbed onto his back and they made their way home to the base.
"Jay! Ryan!" Dana cried as they entered the base. "Thank God".
"We're okay except someone has got to stop feeding her ice cream". Ryan laughed out as it earned him a slap on his head. "Ow!".
"Dad you saw that right? she hit me that has got to be a crime". Ryan groaned as the rangers and his father just walked away. Jay hopped of his back.
Joel walked over and patted his shoulder. "Ryan you should know by know she is the princess of the base and we have all felt her wrath".
Ryan sighed as he was left alone. He ran to catch up with the others with a feeling of relief but yet a feeling of dread washed over him.
"Ryan". He turned to see his Father. "I'm proud of you son, you made us all proud".
"Thanks Dad". For the first time since he came back Ryan hugged his Father. They jumped back as the teenager ran past them. "Lagoon". They both said with a smile.
"Hey Dad what are you plans when this is all over?" Ryan asked as they stepped onto the lift.
"Haven't thought about it to be honest. I guess move back into the house and i guess see if the Firehouse still needs me if not i will retire, why do you ask?"
They stepped out as they reached the top. "I asked Jay the other day if she ever thought about what would happen when the demons were gone and she said she wants things to go back to normal"
Captain Mitchell smiled. "Then normal she will get. Listen i know you and Dana are adults but i hope when this is all over you still stick around".
"We will".
Everyone jumped out of the lagoon as the sky got dark as night and lightning surrounded them. They all huddled together. Jay hugged into her sister as a huge face appeared in the sky.
"No". Ryan whispered. "I thought she was destroyed".
"Who is that?" Kelsey asked.
"Queen Bansheera" They all shared a glance as the head disappeared and the skys brightened up.
As they went inside Jay went to change as Ryan explained who Bansheera was.
"I'm gonna leave, i have to find a way to capture them again" He told them sadly.
"No don't go!" He turned to see Jaylynn by the door. "Please don't go". She cried as he lifted the small girl into his arms.
"I promise baby sister i will come back but i need you to do something for me okay".
"No, Ryan please don't leave!". Everyone in the room felt their hearts break at the sight.
"Jaylynn listen to me". He let her down. "This is the only way for you to have the normal you want after this is over. I need you to be strong okay.I need to you be safe because we don't know whats going to happen next"
"I promise". She spoke through her sobs. She wrapped her arms around his neck as Dana walked over hugging them both. Ryan kissed their cheeks.
"Be careful". Chad spoke.
"I'm proud of you". His father said shaking his son's hand as he wrapped his other arm around his youngest daughter.
Ryan shared one last look with his family and fellow rangers then left the base. Jaylynn wiped her tears and went to her room. She laid on her bed as she cried herself to sleep.
Unknown to her she was being watched. As she slept a red light appeared causing a girl dressed in all black appear by her bed. "Sweet Jaylynn you will have your role to play in this." The woman spoke with a smile as she held an orb over Jay's chest. It absorbed into her body. "My thanks for destroying the cobra and freeing my Father from the curse. Use the power when you need it". The woman took off the stone around her neck placing it into Jay's bag.
The woman smiled and left the room leaving the girl to sleep.
So we get a sense of how her ninja journey starts.
