Owen the Danger-Hungry
A/N Man I'm watching S1 and Xander crushing on Buffy is painful AF.

Dear Diary,
There was a boy before Angel. Actually there were several boys before Angel but this is besides the point. The last boy before Buffy fell head-over-heels in love with our favourite vampire wonder boy (sorry Spike). His name was Owen. I thought he was such a dork when Buffy first talked about him, he liked poetry and books. But I'll admit he was cute. Buffy thought the sun shone out of his ass. I heard her gushing to Willow about how adorable he was once, it sounded like Willow thought he was pretty cutesome too because she squealed.
He came to pick her up at the house before taking her to the Bronze. I told him that she sometimes sleeps with the lights on and still has a stuffed pig named Mr Gordo but he went out with her anyway. Buffy shoved me back into the kitchen and ran out the house with him. He was a bit like Riley. All muscles and shy confidence. Buffy made him nervous. A part of her 'hot girl slayer' bit.
Then it turned out Owen was a little too into the slayer side of things. He wanted to hang out with her all the time, every day, go on patrols and everything. Buffy had to tell him no and she was very disappointed about it. I remember her crying but then a few weeks later Angel was up in her bedroom and she changed her tune.
But Owen. "Oh Owen," she said over a bowl of nachos. I remember the way Xander looked at her when she said that. Then he looked at me and smiled. Him and Willow were over for one of their movie sleepover things and were helping Buffy pick out outfits for her date with the guy in question.
"Oh Owen what?" Mum said, perusing over Buffy's shoulder.
"Oh Owen's so... Well just so."
"Oh I see. He's so." Mom replied and I laughed. She gave Buffy a pat on the shoulder moved back to the fridge for dipping sauce.
"Dawnie get out of here." Buffy said to me, so I scuttled upstairs. I didn't want to ruin their little gossiping session. Mom caught up with me later and told me that Buffy was just acting like that because her friends were round. So I just stared out the window when Owen came to pick her up, I stared at his blondish hair and his blue eyes and tried to figure out what Buffy saw in him. Maybe it was because he was the opposite of Angel, or Buffy thought he was the opposite. She was trying to deflect from him because he had that classic bad boy energy (again sorry Spike). You know, Buffy always walked a little too far into the wild side of boys. If they don't wear leathers they're too safe. She must have a policy or something. Not that I'm judging. Okay, I'm totally judging but I'm her sister, I'm allowed.
Dawnie Xx
