Chapter 20: Circus Family Visit
One afternoon in the I.M.P. Office, everyone is having a lunch break as they listen to the radio in the office. Some are just having their lunch, chatting among themselves, or even reading their magazines and phones. Randall however, is the only one not dining anything besides eating. In fact, Randall looks really bored. He keeps letting you grunt and groans and feels like falling asleep.
Berry turns to Randall and asks, "What's wrong Randall?"
"I'm bored, that's what's wrong. There's like nothing to do nowadays, and we haven't had any major clients that are worth killing," Randall complains.
"I'll admit, work has been slow recently, but we still have killed a few demons and living humans," Sarge says.
"Maybe, but the reasons the clients want them dead are lame and practically the same, cheating each other, money, and all that kind of shit," Randall says
"Well then, what do you wanna do?" Berry asks.
"I don't know, something fun, or something. Maybe there's something going on in the human world," Randall says.
"Like what?" Drew asks.
"I don't know, just about anything," Randall says and flops his head on the table.
Just then, Blitz has an idea, "Well, maybe we can go see a circus?"
"Nah, the circus around Hell is a bit creepy sometimes. And somewhere that is similar to it is back in Greed," Randall says.
"No, not that. I'm talking about the circus my family owns," Blitz says.
"Oh yeah, the one that your family runs and still travels in," Razor says.
"Yeah. I've never seen it before, but from what Moxxie, Millie, Drew, and Berry are talking about, it seems like an interesting place to go to," Randall says.
"Is it really as good as they say?" Loona asks.
"Well yeah, I mean, I was practically raised in the circus. Maybe we can go over and give it a shot. They're going to be performing near an amusement park for their next show, so we can also have some fun," Blitz says.
Randall lifts his head with a grin, "Blitz, you're a lifesaver. I felt like I was going to die of boredom."
"Yeah, but would it really be okay for us to go?" Loona questions.
"I'm sure my relatives don't mind if we ask. Besides, it will be nice to see my family after being gone for a while and I've been thinking of dropping by for a visit.," Blitz says.
"Yeah. We should go over. The rest of you haven't met Blitz's relatives so I'm sure you all are ready to meet them," Berry says.
Sarge thinks a bit, "Hmmm. I think it wouldn't hurt to meet your relatives."
"Yeah. I wouldn't mind seeing the kind of stores your family's circus is running," Razor says.
Loona shrugs her shoulders, "Sure, why not."
"Well then, it looks like we're going to the circus," Millie says.
Then Drew says, "So when are they going to be in the area?"
"They'll start being around the area with the amusement park tomorrow and they'll be around for a few weeks," Blitz says.
"Great. We can go there this weekend," Berry says.
"Hmm, sure I think Loona and I are free," Sarge says.
Loona nods her head in reply.
"Yeah. Drew and I are free," Berry says.
"I think we're all free for this weekend," Millie happily says.
"I guess. At least we can all blend in in the human world so no one will freak out if they see us," Loona says.
"Why do you say that?" Blitz asks.
"Because we can blend in," Loona says.
Millie turns to Blitz, "Blitz, you remember when you saw us in our human disguise?"
"Yes. I remember," Blitz replies.
"Well the rest of us have human disguises too," Berry says.
"So, you all have human disguises?" Blitz asks.
"Yeah. Don't you?" Loona questions.
Blitz nervously chuckles, "Well uh, the thing is, because I was found as a baby like this, and raised like a normal kid at the circus, most people either think I was a child in a costume or one of the performers who like to wear their costumes. I guess they never think twice that I'm a demon from Hell. Of course, I didn't really know I was an Imp myself until you guys told me."
Everyone looked at Blitz with confusion.
"You mean, that you've been living on Earth without a human disguise your whole fuckin life, and yet, no god damn human suspected a thing?!" Loona asks, shocked and annoyed.
"Uh no. I mean, when people asks where I come from, my parents simply say I was adopted and tell them that they have no idea why I look the way I do. Of course, they had no idea I was a demon of Hell, so uh, no surprises there," Blitz explains.
"He has a point, Loona," Moxxie replies.
Loona rolls her eyes, "I suppose so. Excluding his family and friends from the circus, a lot of humans are fuckin oblivious."
"Now Loona, remember what I told you," Sarge calmly says.
"I know dad, not to make fun of others, even if they're sometimes true," Loona says.
Then turns to Blitz, "Still, I'm interested in meeting your relatives."
"Alright then, so we'll meet at the office this Saturday, and open the portal to the circus," Millie says.
Time has gone by and today is the day of the day trip to see Blitz's family at the circus.
In the human world, there is an amusement park that has a lot of rides, attractions, food stands, and lots of people. A short distance away is the Cirque de Eccentrical. The portal opens and on the other side are the group ready to head over.
Sarge says, "Alright everyone, disguises on."
And with that, everyone excluding Blitz changes into their human form. Blitz already sees Moxxie, Millie, Drew, and Berry's disguises, but it's the first to see Sarge, Loona, and Razor's human disguises.
Sarge's disguise has the same outfit, but suitable as a human, and his eyes color is the same as well. He has dark brown hair with a little bit white highlight and has it up to shoulder length, and has a bit of a tan skin. He also seems a little taller, but not as tall as Loona though.
Loona's human form wears the same clothes, but she is wearing knee-high socks and high-top sneakers, and the choker doesn't have her spikes. She also has a shaved head on her right side. and her eyes are inverted with a white sclera and red irises. He also notices that Loona is a little shorter than her original height.
Razor is the same way. His eyes match his cat's eyes, but more human. He also has a little messy orange hair that matches his fur, and light colored skin. He is still wearing his clothes adjusted to his human appearance, but there is also a silhouette of an orange cat patch on the left side of his jumpsuit.
"Wow. You guys actually look great," Blitz says.
"Thanks. It's been a while since I've been in this," Loona says.
Sarge looks at the circus and asks, "So this is where you live?"
"Yeah. This is home sweet home. Of course, it's not much, but it's still great," Blitz says.
"It seems a lot better than Loo Loo Land," Razor says.
Then Blitz says, "Come on, I would like to introduce you to my relatives. I already let them know we're going to be here."
The group then jumps through the portal and it closes behind them. A little time later, the group meets up with Blitz Aunt, Uncle, and cousins.
Blitz introduces, "Guys, this is my Uncle Matt, the current Ringmaster, Aunt Lily, and these are my cousins, Tim and the twins, Andy and Candy." Then says, "And meet the rest of the gang, my new boss, Sarge and his daughter Loona, and the rest of the employees, Razor and Randall."
"Hello, it's nice to meet you," Matt says.
"It's a pleasure to meet Blitz's new colleagues and friends," Lily says.
"It's a pleasure to meet you," Sarge says.
Candy then looks at Loona's outfit, "I like your outfit."
"Thanks. Your uh, outfit looks nice too," Loona says, skeptic about Candy's clothes.
Candy looks at her outfit and says, "Don't worry, these aren't my regular clothes, this is one of my costumes for the show."
"I see," Loona says.
Then Andy asks, "So are you all demons too?"
"We sure are. I'm a Chameleon Demon," Randall says.
"I'm a Hellhound, and my dad is an Imp as well," Loona says.
Then Razor says, "And I'm a Hellcat."
"Sounds cool. I like to see what you look like as a Hellhound," Candy says.
"Sorry Candy, but we can't be in their demon form with so many people around. We only showed it to you because there weren't that many people," Berry says.
"Aww," Candy says, disappointed.
Loona chuckles and says, "You know, you're actually not half bad, for a human."
"So Blitz, we're going to head over to the amusement park for our break. You and the others should come with us," Andy says.
"Sounds nice. I like to see the park," Millie says.
"Let's go," Berry happily says.
Then Lily says, "Alright, but remember. You all need to be back at 5:30. Our first showing will be at 6:30."
"Don't worry mom, we'll just go for a few rides, grab some food, and will be back before the show," Tim says.
"Besides, we want Blitz's friends to hang out with us," Candy says.
"Alright then, let's go," Andy says.
And with that, the group head to the amusement park for some fun.
Soon enough, the group arrives at the amusement park, they can see a whole crowd of people with many different rides, games, food, and all kinds of fun activities to do in the park.
"So what do you wanna do first?" Tim asks.
Millie happily says, "I want to go on the ride."
"Me too!" Drew and Berry say.
"Sounds good to me. There's a great roller coaster for us to go on. I heard it has a triple loop," Tim says, excited.
"Yeah!" Millie happily cheers.
Soon enough, everyone is on the roller coaster cars. Luckily for Moxxie, he isn't in the front car, so he won't get sick again. Moxxie is nervous as he sits next to Millie. Millie does her best to reassure him, but Moxxie is nervous as the cars continue to go up the ramp. Everyone else is pretty excited for the ride.
When the cars reach the top of the ramp, the cars accelerate and go down the ramp really fast. The cars then make some turns, and circles around. Then continues to accelerate and goes around the loop de loop. The coaster then goes up and down once more, and continues to go up and down pretty fast. Then circle around once more, and soon arrive at the station of the ride. As the roller coaster goes around the tracks, everyone on the cars scream loud and long with either fear or excitement of the ride. After the fast ride, the coaster comes to a stop.
After the ride, Moxxie is sitting on the bench and feels sick from the ride on the roller coaster.
Millie comforts Moxxie and asks, "Are you alright, Moxxie?"
"Ugh. I think so. The coaster isn't as wild as the one in Loo Loo Land," Moxxie says, feeling sick and dizzy.
Candy says with excitement, "That's what I called a wild ride."
"Come on, let's go on more rides," Randall says.
Feeling sick, Moxie says, "You guys can go on ahead. I'm going to sit this one out."
"If you want, I can stay with you if you like, or can give you a soft drink to help with your stomach," Blitz says.
"That's nice of you Blitz, but you should go and spend time with your cousins. Go have fun," Moxxie reassures.
"Okay, but call on my phone if you need anything," Blitz says.
"Thank you Blitz. You're really sweet," Millie says.
Randall grabs Blitz's arm, "Come on Blitz, have some fun with us and your cousins."
"Um okay," Blitz replies, skeptic.
"Yeah Blitz, let's go have some fun," Candy says.
"Let's go," Andy says.
Everyone then leaves Moxxie and Millie behind to go on some rides. They soon go on more rides like the carousel, the swinging rides, the drop rides, bumper cars, and more. They also play some games like basketballs, fishing, ring toss, and other kinds of games, they even win a few prizes and sometimes lose the games. Millie and Moxxie are able to join them after Moxxie feels better from his motion sickness. Soon, everyone has a good time at the park with smiles and laughter, and maybe a few screams.
After going on the rides and playing the games, everyone is at the food court to have something. Of course, some of the groups are having their separate chats.
Berry says to Candy, "And so at the end Drew and I ended up nearly seducing those two scumbags and stab them before they had the chance to kiss us."
"I can't believe you were forced to seduce those two brothers. I heard that they had a history of doing these kinds of things to people, especially women," Candy says.
"I know. The client was glad that we killed them and is willing to kill them themselves when they ended up in Hell," Berry says.
"I heard that the client gave them their just desserts," Drew says.
"How did the client do that?" Tim asks.
"You don't wanna know," Drew answers as he shakes his head.
"Yeah. There are some things that are not meant to say out loud," Randall adds.
Blitz turns to Andy and asks, "So how are you all doing at the circus?"
"Everyone seems fine. We came up with a few new acts, having to deal with a sickness that's been going around lately, you know, the flu bug and all that. He hired new performers while some also retired or quit for various reasons. Other than that, everyone seems normal," Andy says.
The turns to Blitz, "But it doesn't feel entirely the same without you here."
"I know what you mean. I'm still trying to get used to living in Hell, especially without you guys with me, but I was able to do well. I even got a job at Sarge's company," Blitz says.
"You're not part of the killing group?" Candy asks.
"No. I'm working at accounting, paperwork, and some of the cleaning and errands. Nothing too crazy or anything like that," Blitz says.
"As long as you're doing alright. I remember you texted us about you having a bad experience with some robotic clown like jester or something," Tim says.
"It's called the Robotic Fizzarolli and I can't tell if it's supposed to be a clown or a jester. It's kind of hard to tell," Blitz says.
"So something else has happened?" Candy asks.
"Well, uh, a few things have happened, but everything seems fine now," Blitz says, sounding nervous.
Randall smirks and says, "Besides, Blitz has a little someone in his life."
Blitz blushes and freaks out, "Randall, it's not like that."
"Why Blitz, I didn't know you're seeing someone," Candy says, taking an interest.
"No! It… It's not like that! I mean, Stolas and I are mainly friends and…" Blitz panics.
"Stolas?"Andy asks, "That's the guy's name?"
"That's him. He's actually a Goetia Prince, which makes him a high class demon," Berry says.
"And it's plain to see that Stolas also feels the same way about Blitz," Millie says.
"I don't know about that. Plus, Stolas is married and has a daughter. Even if it's arranged," Blitz says.
"Who cares? Demons have more than one person in their lives, even if they're married. Play, I'm surprised that Stolas didn't divorce that bitch years ago. They both had an arranged marriage, but it's plain to see the two hate each other," Randall says.
Confused, Tim asks, "So wait, you're going out with a married man, Blitz?"
"No. I wasn't," Blitz panics.
"Come on Blitz, don't be modest, I can see that you two have a thing for each other. Sure I caused you two to kiss each other the first time, but you both give each other a passionate kiss after words," Randall says with a grin on his face.
Bitz blushes that his face is ready to turn redder than it already is.
"Oh, so you two kissed huh?" Candy asks with a smirk on her face.
"Can you all stop teasing me?! It's really embarrassing!" Blitz panics.
Then mutters, "I did not picture how my first kiss is going to turn out."
"So, Stolas is your first kiss, huh?" Berry asks with a grin on her face.
Blitz blushes like crazy.
Soon, everyone begins laughing with a grin on their faces.
Candy pats Blitz on the shoulder, "Hey don't sweat it Blitz. We were just teasing. Besides, it's your heart, it's your decision."
"Yeah. Just to let you know that we're rooting for you," Berry says.
"Come on guys, this is getting even more embarrassing. I mean, we haven't even gone out yet," Blitz says.
"You never know. He might ditch that bitch of a wife of his and be with you," Randall says.
Blitz blushes and can't help but show a small smile on his face.
Suddenly, Blitz stops smiling and lowers his head, remembering what the Robotic Fizzarolli has said to him.
Noticing it, Candy asks, "Blitz, is there something wrong?"
"Are you still bothered about what happened at Loo Loo Land?" Drew asks.
"Yeah. I kind of am?" Blitz answers.
"Did something happen?" Tim asks.
Blitz takes a deep breath and explains, "During what happened at Loo Loo Land, I ended up having a private conversation with the Robotic Fizzarolli."
"More like he kidnapped you," Randall says.
"Randall, let him continue," Loona says.
"Alright alright," Randall replies.
"So anyway, after he took me, he and I had a talk. He kept asking about myself. I did answer the questions, but never brought up about me being raised in the human world. And then, he said that I remind him of someone. More specifically, his original self," Blitz explains.
"His original self?" Andy asks, confused.
"Yeah. Somewhere in Hell there is the real Fizzarolli and there are many of his robotic duplicates all over Hell. He explained that he has some memories of the Real one, and said that I remind him of someone he used to know a long time ago. He even has the same mark on his head like Ido," Blitz says.
"He said that?" Candy asks.
"Yeah. I don't even know if it's true or not. If it was true, does that mean, I have a family out there, in Hell, somewhere?" Blitz replies. He sighs and says, "I try not to worry so much because even if I don't find the family I once had, I have you all now. I was raised on Earth my entire life, and had good friends during the time, and now I also have new friends. And I guess I'm worried that if I do start looking for my family, I might not like what I found."
"Sounds like you have a real problem," Tim says.
"I kind of do, but I had a good chat with Loona and I'm okay with it now. I just wonder about going to see the Real Fizzarolli if I actually talk to him," Blitz says.
"I don't see what the problem is. If that robot told you where he is, you can just get there," Andy says.
"The problem is that Fizzarolli works for Asmodeus who is the Embodiment and Ruler of Lust. Not to mention he's a popular host at Ozzie's which is the best Nightclub restaurant on Lust, it will be very difficult to talk to him, much less schedule a meeting," Drew says.
"We plan to wait on it and figure more on what to do with it along the lines," Sarge says.
"That's good to know," Berry says l
Tim then says, "Come on guys, we should finish eating and then we'll head back to the circus."
"You're right. It's already 4:50," Sarge says, looking at his watch.
"Yeah. Let's finish and we can get going," Blitz says.
Everyone then continues to have their food as they continue to chat among themselves.
Later in the evening, the circus is about to begin its show. Many people are walking into the big top to take their seats. Among them are Millie, Moxxie and the others of I.M.P.
"I'm really excited to see the show," Berry says.
"Yeah. It was great the first time we saw it," Millie says.
"I'm interested to see what the Cirque de Eccentrical is going to be like," Razor says.
"Me too," Randall says.
Loona looks around and asks, "Where's Blitz?"
"Blit told me that he's going to take part in the show tonight. Apparently, one of their performers has gotten sick and has to take over," Sarge says.
"Sounds interesting. I like to see what kind of show Blitz is doing," Randall says.
Just then, the lights turn on and turn back on to center stage.
"Looks like the show is starting," Millie says.
The group then watch the show with Matt as the Ringmaster, and perform magic tricks with Tim by his side. On the trapeze are Andy and Candy, performing all kinds of tricks. There Claude, Juma, and other performers doing their tracks and acts. Some of the animal trainers even train their animals to do their tricks.
After seeing the many performances and animal tricks, they soon see Candy riding on the horse while standing. She is also balancing an apple on her finger above her. Blitz is holding a knife in his hand as he watches Candy riding on the black horse around the center ring. Blitz holds his knife as he watches the target very carefully. At the right moment, Blitz throws the knife, and it pierces right at the apple and it falls to the ground. Everyone claps and cheers with excitement. Even the I.M.P gang claps and cheers for Blitz.
Sometime later, after the performance, Blitz and the others are saying their goodbyes to Blitz's relatives.
Candy asks, "Do you really have to go back so soon?"
"I know, but we still have work to do. I promise to go back to visit really soon," Blitz says.
"He knows you do, and promises to send us messages on how you've been doing," Andy says.
"Don't worry, I will," Blitz says.
"Remember to be careful," Lily says.
"I will Aunt Lily," Blitz says.
Then Tim says to the others, "And make sure to take care of Blitz."
"Don't worry, we'll take good care of him," Millie says.
Soon, everyone says their goodbyes as Loona opens the portal. Soon, Blitz and the others return to Hell. Matt, Lily, and the others wave goodbyes as the portal closes behind them.
