After the nap, she headed downstairs to see that May is getting ready to head off to her job which is a cloth-maker since she is skilled in making quilts, costumes, and such, and mewed to her.
May smiled and petted Jasmine, "Hello, Princess. Enjoy your nap, darling?", and Jasmine purred, meowed, and May smiled, "Good. I better get to work. Ben is doing a small grocery shopping trip as I was thinking of making pan-roasted fish filets, with some creamy corn and probably long beans for dinner.".
Jasmine meowed louder, purring, and May chuckled, "Don't worry, I'll spare some fish bits into your bowl for dinner, Princess.", and Jasmine purred, butting her head against her hand, and May laughed warmly, "See you at dinner.", before adjusting her purse, grabbing her phone, keys, sunglasses, before blinking, "I swore I had my wallet right here.".
Sniffing around before meowing as she went under the table, Jasmine came out with the leather wallet in her jaws, jangling, and May smiled, "Oh, thank you, Princess. I guess Ben must have knocked it over accidentally when I asked him to go shopping out of nowhere.", grabbing the wallet gently from Jasmine's jaws, and petted her for a moment with a kiss to her head before heading out, "Goodbye, Princess!", with a wave.
Jasmine chuckled, flickering her tail...What could the Parkers be without her? She then hummed, realizing that the Parkers are out for some time, and then walked over to the couch, pressing her paw against the remote, turning the TV on.
While Jasmine was taking it easy with domestic life, Peter, on the other hand, was dealing with the stress of high school. Sure, he was probably less stressed compared to others in terms of his grades, the kid was pretty much an ace at all his subjects in the classroom. Of course, everyone has their weaknesses and for him, it was always psychical education; and that in turn, lead to his main stress. High school hierarchy.
"Hey, Pete.", Peter nearly jumped when he closed his locker and saw Gwen next to him, using the opened locker door to hide herself from him until he had closed it back up. "Sorry...", she apologized.
"Not a problem, just a bit jumpy today, I guess.", Peter sighed. "Got all your homework done, I'm guessing?", Gwen asked as he gave a small nod, "Yeah, got done fairly early. You?".
Gwen smiled and nodded. "Honestly, I think some of these AP courses are too easy... at least for us.", she teased. "Yeah, try telling that to the rest of the class.", Peter chuckled. "Especially our proud football team who couldn't even find the bathroom in this place unless the coach was barking out the directions.".
Gwen gave a small laugh, "Oh, god, I think I can see that happening!", and Peter smiled before replying, "By the way, thanks for the suggestion of the high spot boards for the living room. Uncle Ben built them on the weekend, and so far, Princess loved it. You were right about her wanting some space to watch when it's raining outside, even though she loves water, though I still can't believe that she allowed you and Jean to bathe her. She only wanted Aunt May to do it all those years.".
"Yeah, well, you know... I guess we just can guess what Princess wants by looking at her.", Gwen rubbed the back of her neck. Much of the activity in the hall stopped for a moment as the attention was quickly brought on by Jean walking her way through, "God, could this school be any more like a clichéd movie?", Gwen whispered under her breath as she could tell that Peter was much like the rest of the guys and just staring at Jean.
'I really need to get you and Peter to meet... he's kind enough not to ask for a meeting since he found out we 'hang out' and thinks he'd be abusing our friendship by making that request.', Gwen thought to herself as she looked at Jean. Gwen then closed her eyes and let her hearing take over and she could instantly tell that some hearts were nearby starting to beat much quicker now once Jean started walking on by. Gwen almost wanted to gag as she knew exactly the reason.
She then opened her eyes, still hearing those perverted people's heartbeats, and wondered what Jean is hearing, but she is smug and proud herself that she is the only one, besides Jasmine, who got wonderful sessions with that gorgeous soul of Jean, incredible inside and out. Heck, if she could, she would clobber those perverted people; guys and girls, to show them that Jean doesn't deserve anyone of those perverts as she loves her.
'Wait, what?! I don't love her!', Gwen thought to herself, and her body tightened up, her mind telling her of the incredible days; just casual talking, shopping, seeing Jean smile, laugh, giggle, and watching her as she walks, eats, swims, and gods, sensually show her body in those mind-blowing sessions of pleasure, seeing her fiery temper when she cares passionately about someone or something, her amazing powers when she helps secretly. Heck, they became best friends with benefits, hiding their relationship, all because she loves her, wanting to keep her safe from perverts and all...'Crap, I'm so done for...'.
"I'm sorry, what was that you were saying before?", Peter asked as Gwen came back to her senses since Jean walked away and Peter's attention once more was back on her.
"Oh, I was just saying that I guess I just have a sixth sense or something with Princess in knowing what she wants.", Gwen rubbed the back of her neck.
"Yeah... if only you were around 24/7 with her sometimes...", Peter joked. "Sometimes I really can't understand what she wants even after all these years.". He chuckled as Gwen gave a small laugh before it quickly turned into a frown when she saw who was coming the other way. Peter's face did the same, "Flash coming?".
Gwen hummed softly, nodding, and Peter gave a little groan, waiting for the usual barbs and bullying by the infamous Flash Thompson when Gwen blinked in surprise as Flash didn't stop, but kept going, and Peter looked over, to see Flash strutting and straightening his jacket and hair, looking at Jean who is getting her books and bag from her locker, unlocking it.
Peter heard a little growl, and he looked over to see Gwen glaring at Flash, and she muttered, "Excuse me, Pete. Got a best friend to rescue.", before leaving Peter confused yet casual, and actually a bit attracted, seeing the fire in Gwen's eyes, unknowing of the newfound discovery of Gwen realizing her love for Jean, yet Gwen does this almost all the time when Jean doesn't want to be bothered.
"Hey, I'd do that too but well... you'd speak at my funeral, I'm sure.", Peter cracked a little morbid joke on himself as for once he was at least glad that Flash was distracted enough not to mess with him today. Meanwhile, Flash, as usual, was trying to once more get Jean to say yes to him.
"Come on, Watson... it is the only logical answer. I'm the most popular guy in school, you're the most popular girl... why not go out?", Flash said as he leaned against the locker next to her locker.
"Well, for starters, Flash... there's more to life than high school.", Jean simply said as she was easily in control. Flash, despite his place in terms of the school's hierarchy, wasn't much in terms of thinking for himself unless he had been drilled a playbook into his head... and even then, that was a bit of a challenge.
Flash purred lightly, "Oh, yeah, like making out...", wiggling his eyebrows as he raked his eyes over her, and Jean was disgusted at the perverted thoughts coming in Flash's mind, and snorted, "Flash, you know that your grades are getting pitiful, and besides, you know what the coach would feel if he knew that his star quarterback, say, is using a girl to get into her pants, just for her to help you with your grades. We all heard that rumor of you going onto that tutor girl of yours.".
Starstruck and confused, trying to correct it out, Flash replied, "You know that was a fling, Watson, and besides, rumors are like...ummm, oh, wildfire!", blanking out for a moment before seeing Jean's fiery red hair.
Jean internally groaned, and glared at him, "Flash Thompson, for the thousandth time, I am not going out with you! I have better things to do.", and Flash blinked before asking, "Oh, yeah, Watson, like what?".
"Like shopping for the prom, Thompson, or haven't you forgotten already that sophomores ain't allowed to dance with seniors like you?", a familiar voice replied, and Jean was relieved instantly to see Gwen getting closer, with Flash's perverted thoughts vanishing away like smoke, yet becoming concerned as she felt sexual fury and extreme annoyance, along with a lot of fierce protectiveness coming from Gwen this time, as in the previous times when Gwen saved her from Flash and other perverted people, she was mischievous and smug and a little protective.
"Oh, little brainiac Barbie thinking she's going to make me lose yardage?", Flash snorted as Jean rolled her eyes. "Well, let's face it, Flash, wouldn't look too good on you trying to hit a girl... or get your ass kicked by one.", Gwen smirked.
"Better run while you still can, Flash... Gwen knows some nasty moves... her father's a cop after all.", Jean pointed out.
Gwen replied, "And he's the chief of his precinct. So?", looking at him with a raised eyebrow, and Flash paled yet seethed his teeth, "You won't be around to save Watson, Stacy. After all, I heard that why your father got saddled with you is because you are the only girl he can keep in his life.".
Jean widened her eyes, looking at Gwen who tightened her fists, glaring at him, "And you don't keep girls in your life, jackass! Unless you have a death wish for the coach firing you from the team for hitting a girl, Thompson, you better walk off.".
Flash widened his eyes and scowled as the bell rang for the warning of five minutes before the first class, and snorted, "Don't even know why you're friends with her, Watson.", before walking off, and Jean grasped Gwen's shoulder, "Gwen, come on.", pulling her into the nearby girls' bathroom, with Jean using a mind-warding on the bathroom to last for a few minutes.
"Breathe, Gwen! What was that all about? I never saw you this riled up before...", Jean looked at Gwen in concern and confusion, and Gwen sighed, "Sorry, period came a couple of days ago.".
Jean raised an eyebrow, "Gwen Stacy, I know you, and your period comes and leaves in a flash for one day per month, because you're alien, and you never get this riled up because of a period. So, tell me what's going on, and don't lie. You know I can feel a lie from a mile away.".
"Look... Jean... I just had an epiphany...", Gwen sighed. "An epiphany?", Jean raised an eyebrow as Gwen nodded.
"Yeah... and it's related to you.", Gwen knew she wouldn't be able to truly hide this from Jean. Maybe she couldn't read her mind, but she would pretty much connect the dots fairly fast.
Jean blinked in confusion, "Me?", realizing that Gwen isn't lying, from the aura she can see around Gwen, and she was about to ask in what way when they heard the 2-minute warning bell to class, and Gwen exhaled, "We can't be late to class.", pushing that desire to smooch that confused look off Jean's face, and left the bathroom, leaving a bewildered Jean Grey-Watson who was still trying to figure out what just happened as she sighed, heading out, straight to her first class.
For once, she wasn't paying attention to the teacher, through barely making it with one of her books out, and her mind was in a whirl, trying to signalize the feelings of the aura she knew of Gwen. She saw loyalty, friendship, strength, mindfulness, determination, confidence, and mischief which is usual, yet she found two new feelings; anxiety and love.
The anxiety was somehow in cahoots with the love, almost like Gwen somehow was nervous back there in the bathroom, yet looking at Jean in the eye as she explained about the epiphany, which is related to her for some reason, having love for a moment, no, wait, what kind of love? In what way?
Then she mentally remembered how she felt when approaching Flash and her, acting like a protective, angry, and pissed off best friend, no, there was love at the moment, wait, not friend love, but like a lover...like she loves Jean...
Gwen honestly should've seen that one coming. When they made the whole friends with benefits suggestion, Gwen recalled that she made an offhand 'let's just not fall in love or anything' joke. Welp, clearly it wasn't much of a joke now. Still, she needed to tell Jean that to her face, at least get it off her chest and there was no guessing what Jean's reaction to it would truly be. Maybe Jean just wanted to stay friends, that love might just be too much or too fast for her.
Either way, Gwen knew she only has a couple of classes with Jean, and gods, the next class is science class where she is lab partners with Jean...should she be quiet during class with glances at Jean or something? She'd honestly stay friends with her, just to be normal, but what about the benefits part? Is that going to stop, even with Jasmine helping around for her own confidence and friendship?
Oh, lord, is this like torture for other high school girls when they realize that they're in love with somebody, and they basically told that person how they felt? She doesn't regret it, really...After all, who wouldn't be in love with someone who's incredible, wonderful, fiery, kind, caring, and a gorgeous soul inside and out like Jean?
Gwen just wished that school was already over, that they could already be at either of their places alone and have the entire day to discuss and talk things out... to try to figure out how to handle this recent revelation.
Jean expanded her mind, and reached Peter's mind, seeing the memory of Gwen looking weary, desperate, and just quiet which is not normal to Peter himself. She read the emotions leaking off on Gwen, and can feel the desire to get out...
She bit her lip as she then retracted her mind back, trying to think of something before realizing that there's one thing yet it'd be with consequences, but it's only Thursday, but she wants to talk with Gwen...Playing hooky...
If she and Gwen leaves after lunch, the two hours of school left wouldn't matter...For once, she doesn't want to be perfect...
The morning passed fairly quick, but it was certainly a weight that the girls did not need on their shoulders. By the time lunch came around, the girls met up in the bathroom and made sure no one was around so they could plan out their little escape. Of course, she had to pitch the idea to Gwen first.
"Could easily just make the excuse of an appointment or not feeling very good. I can have Peter quickly get what we've missed...", Gwen said as Jean nodded, "With how we've usually been, I think no one would even bother to check on an appointment; they'd take us at our word."
Gwen nodded, "Okay, let's get some lunch, and I will talk to Peter. I don't want him to be worried if I didn't talk to him.", and Jean gave a small smile, and they headed back to the cafeteria, grabbing trays and all, acting normal and all.
After grabbing the contents of their lunch, Gwen walked over to Peter's table while Jean headed for another table, and Peter glanced at Gwen, "Hey, everything alright?".
Gwen sighed, "More or less, Peter. Can you cover for us with any homework we've missed this afternoon? I and Jean, we're playing hooky.", and Peter widened, hissing in surprise, "But the teachers!".
"That's the thing. We are going to act like I'm not feeling well after eating something from the mystery meat here, while Jean is going to say that she got an appointment with a doctor or something after her parents texted her that she forgot to mark it up. The teachers are gonna think that Jean is taking me to the school hospital, dropping me off, and then heading out to her appointment.", Gwen whispered, knowing that Jean will somehow make the school nurse think that Gwen is sick, and sent her home while taking one of the little-known secret ways out of school which is flying out fast when everybody isn't looking, with Jean in her arms.
Gwen is grateful that her flying ability manifested when it came last year after super-jumping and hovering over things.
Peter sighed as he pinched the bridge of his nose, "Okay then... I suppose that'll work... but don't ask me to keep doing this sort of thing...".
"Relax, Pete... this isn't something we're going to make a habit about, just... something we need to do.", Gwen said as Peter gave a small nod, "Okay then... guess I'm going to be without backup if Flash comes around...".
"Just stay out of his way, Peter... better yet, once that final bell rings, make a run for it.", Gwen replied with a smile.
