The State Verses Derek Morgan-Ch 2
When they arrived at the police station Derek was led straight to an interrogation room where he met with two officers a Todd Matthews and a Martin Shrine, he looked up as they walked into the room and introduced themselves to him. Derek nodded his head and looked around the room, he hated rooms like this, hell, most of the time he was the one of the other side of the table but tonight, tonight he's the unsub or so they want him to believe.
The officers sat down across from him and Todd said, "agent Morgan, I want to remind you that you have been read your rights", Derek said, "I would like to call an attorney please", the officers stood up and one of them said, "not a problem but you do realize that the minute you contact your lawyer all chances of striking a deal are gone".
Derek looked at the officers and said, "I don't know what happened but I know that I didn't hurt Garcia", Martin looked down at Derek and said, "yeah, that's what they all say but then I don't have to tell you that, right, considering your an FBI agent". Derek glanced at the officers and said, "I'm not saying anything until I talk to my attorney sooooo get me my damn lawyer, Aaron Hotchner", the officers, knowing that they weren't going to get anything out of Derek turned around and walked out of the room leaving Derek alone.
Across town at home Hotch was asleep when he heard his landline start ringing, he picked up the phone and said, "Hotcnher", the voice on the other end said, "Aaron Hotchner of the BAU?", Hotch said, "yes, who is this and how can I help you?", the voice on the other end of the phone said, "my name is Todd Matthews, I'm a detective with the Virginia State Police and I'm calling from the local barracks in reguards to two of your agents".
Hotch raised up and said, "okay detective, what two agents is this about?", Todd said, "a Penelope Garcia and Derek Morgan", Hotch said, "Morgan and Garcia, what happened, are they alright?", Todd said, "agent Morgan has been arrested agent Hotchner, he's been arrested for the murder of Penelope Garcia", Hotch said, "that's not possible".
Todd said, "he is here in one of our interrogation rooms right now, he's asking for his attorney, he's asking for you agent Hotchner", Hotch stood up and said, "I'll be right there as soon as I can". Todd said, "I'll let him know", Hotch thanked the officer and then ended the call, he then looked around at his wife and said, "Em, I need you to wake up", Emily moaned but opened her eyes, she saw Hotch standing beside her and said, "what happened?", Hotch blew out a deep breath and filled her in on what had just been told to him.
Emily sat there in disbelief, that can't be true, she can't be dead, you know that Derek would never hurt Garcia, he loves her", Hotch said, "I know Em but right now we need to get to the station as soon as possible, can you send a message to the others and have them meet me at the local barracks?", she said, "on it" as she threw the covers back, grabbed her cell and sent a group text to let everybody know to meet her and Hotch at the police station.
As she started typing in the message tears blurred her vision, her beloved friend, her PG, her sister was gone, she would never get to go shopping with her friend again, she would never get to go watch another movie or have a few drinks with her friend because her friend was killed at the hands of a madman, her life snuffed out but why and as she wiped her eyes she said, "whoever did this will pay PG, I promise they'll pay
A few minutes later after waking the nanny Emily and Hotch headed to the police station, they had to find out what was going on and the sooner the better because they knew that Derek would never and could never hurt Garcia and now, now they had to prove it or he would spend the rest of his life in prison for a crime he didn't commit
