Heading back to the lab to submit fingerprints, Sara got a call from Brass about Grissom and Catherine heading into an unknown bunker of some kind. It hadn't been cleared when they proceeded inside and Sara could only shake her head at the stupidity. Calling Catherine had enlightened her to the fact that Grissom had been the one who was leading the two. Walking into the desert alone had been a stupid mistake in and of itself but entering an underground bunker was a different level of stupid.

By the time Greg and Warrick had arrived at the lab, it was well past noon on a Wednesday. Sara had gone to her therapy appointment and headed back to the lab afterwards. Her irritability level was up and Grissom was going to get an earful from her when she found him. She'd texted Catherine and told her that there could be yelling once she got ahold of the man. The redhead had texted her back that she understood and would keep Ecklie away.

After managing the case development at the lab, a task Catherine had given to her, Sara found out Grissom was at the morgue. Deciding to wait for him, she leaned against a wall with one foot braced against it while the other was straight against the floor. He looked surprised to see her leaning against the wall waiting. "Sara. I thought you were managing the lab-side of the case."

"I am, but I needed to talk with you." Her expression was stern, not a trace of her usual smile on her face.

He walked over and stood close to her. "Is everything alright?"

"I don't know, is it?" She folded her arms, "last year you bit into me about risking my life or making unsafe decisions. Now you go and do the same thing."

Grissom put up a hand to stop her lecture before it could progress. "I made a choice based on the environment at the time."

Sara reached out and slapped his hand away. "If Catherine hadn't had her gun and the people inside hadn't been dead, you could have been injured or worse. Forget the environment Gil, did you even think for a second about the consequences?"

"Not at the time."

The brunette shook her head, "'not at the time', so typical of you." Looking back at him, Sara motioned between them. "This is me being severely angry with you. When you've thought this over and figure out what you did wrong, because you did a lot more than make a stupid decision, call me." She stood up straight and turned to leave but turned back a moment. "I'll be at my place for the foreseeable future."

Catherine entered Grissom's office after he'd gotten back from visiting Abigail Spencer at the hospital. He was working on paperwork related to the case when the redhead sat down in front of his desk. She held out two files and he took them, placing them aside. After a few minutes, Catherine spoke.

"So, you're in the doghouse, aren't you?" She watched Grissom lift his head. "Yeah, Sara texted me to let me know she would possibly be yelling once she got ahold of you. Asked me to keep Ecklie about ten miles away. I'm guessing if you're here instead of at home with Sara, it means you're in the doghouse."

"Apparently I made wrong choices."

Catherine chuckled and shook her head. "Yeah, you did. You don't carry anymore Gil, even if you're cleared to. If I hadn't had my weapon and they hadn't been dead, we could have been injured." She tapped the chair arm with her fingers. "Look, you and Sara have had so many spats and I'm sure there's more than I know about." She leaned forward, "is this the first time you two have argued or had an issue since you two started dating?"

Grissom sat back in his chair and took off his glasses. "I didn't think we would have issues."

"Every couple has issues, even if you and your partner have a good relationship. You and Sara, you're good together but you have to remember that Sara is hot tempered and stubborn as hell. You throw out stuff at her, she'll remember no matter how far back it was. Last year, when she put herself in danger, you gave her a speech. Now that you've screwed up, she's throwing it right back at you."

"I don't know what to do Catherine. I can apologize but I doubt that would make a difference."

Thinking, the redhead sat back in the chair. "You need to figure this out before her temper flares again and she's blowing up on us like she did last year." She sighed, "do you know why Sara is upset with you? Besides you making an idiot move."

It dawn on him that Sara was fearful of losing another person. After her mother had killed her father she'd been shuffled around foster homes. Some she thought would adopt her but chose their own kids over Sara. In that moment, he realized what he'd done. "I think I do."

"Well, then you need to talk to her. If you know what you did wrong, the next step is talking about it." Standing, Catherine smiled at him. "Scream, yell, talk. No matter what, don't go to sleep angry or walk out on each other."

Grissom looked confused. "When did you become a relationship expert?"

"I read. I'm sure you can appreciate and understand that."

Sara laid in bed reading when she heard the knock on her front door. Setting the book aside, Sara got up and headed to the door in her cotton shorts and tank top. A look through the eyeglass had her seeing her boyfriend waiting with a small plant in his hands. Unlocking the door, she opened it and stood in the open space looking at him.

"A plant won't always change my mind."

Grissom looked down at the plant. "I realize what I did wrong and I know why you're angry at me."

"Come in." She opened the door wider and stepped aside to let him in. He handed her the plant as he walked past her and Sara accepted it as she closed the door. "I wasn't expecting you to realize your mistake so quickly."

"Well, I know you so it wasn't hard to figure out." He stated as he watched her walk towards the window where a larger plant sat.

Once the plant was placed beside the larger one, Sara turned to him and saw him near the counter to her kitchen. "So, what did you do wrong?"

"Besides going to a building without my weapon?" Grissom watched her nod. "I made a choice that could have killed me if things had been different. Me getting killed takes another person from your life. Something that is traumatic for you and you struggle with daily."

Taking a few moments to think, eventually Sara walked over and sat down on the couch. "Come sit with me." He took the invitation and sat on the couch beside her. The brunette took a second to lean against him and he put his arm around her. "I've done my best to not put myself in that situation I did with Ecklie and Catherine last year. The therapy is helping but I've learned to ignore things that causes my temper to rise."

"I've noticed and I'm proud of you." His arm rose from holding her so he could run his fingers through her hair.

"I've also learned not to make stupid decisions because I have someone that is waiting for me at the end of the day." Sara sat up straighter and turned to look at him. "I didn't wait years to only have days or weeks or months. I want years with you, years of happiness and laughter. I know you didn't struggle and wait years to only have weeks or months. I know you want years too." She caught his hand and held it. "So making stupid decisions that could take you away from me isn't something I'm just going to stand by and be quiet about. This works both ways Gil, we both have to realize that reckless decisions we've made for years can't be made anymore."

Reaching out to push a piece of hair behind her ear, he spoke softly. "I am truly sorry Sara. From now on I'll watch my actions just as you have."

"Good. That's all I ask." She sat back and laid her head back against his shoulder. "I love you."

"'The course of true love never did run smooth.'" He whispered against her temple while his fingers ran through her hair.

With her eyes closed Sara gave him the owner of the quote. "William Shakespeare."

He looked down at her. "Come on, let's go to bed. You're tired and I need sleep also after that case. Too much time in the desert."

"Hank?"

"I called the sitter. She's already dropped by to pick him up and will keep him till tomorrow morning." Grissom kissed her head and let go of her, moving to stand and pulled her up by grasping her by her hands.

Catherine walked into the breakroom as shift started to see Sara and Grissom sitting side by side at the table. The boys were watching a baseball game that was on the TV screen. She noticed that Sara was helping Grissom with a crossword puzzle, a smile on the brunette's face. There didn't seem to be any issue between the couple and all seemed to be back to normal. It didn't seem like the day before and the couple's reason for arguing still existed.

"No, it's Gibraltar." Sara up at Grissom. "The mouth which separates the Mediterranean from the Atlantic is the Strait of Gibraltar."

Grissom corrected his mistake, "you are correct. I was thinking of land not a body of water."

"Well, that's why you have me." She smirked, "to correct your mistakes."

Catherine decided to speak up. "I have assignments if anyone is interested."

Everyone turned to her and the boys joined the couple at the table. "So, what insanity does Vegas hold tonight?" Nick was the one to ask.

"I have a 419 at the MGM, a 419-434 at a diner near downtown, and a 401A-419 in Henderson." She looked between them, "alright, Nick, you and I will take the 419 at the MGM. Warrick, take Greg and hit Henderson. Grissom, Sara, you two will take the diner."

"Thank you." Sara accepted the slip as Catherine handed them the information slips.

Once the guys were out of the room, Catherine looked at the couple. "You two good now? Because if I have to be your therapist on top of your boss, I quit."

Grissom nodded. "We've worked out what we had an issue with."

"Well, you're better than my ex-husband. He never realized what he did wrong the entire time we were married. You got it under a day, so you're already setting a standard that most men can't meet."

"Is that a compliment?" Grissom inquired with the redhead.

Sara chuckled as she stood up from the table. "Yeah Babe, it's a compliment."

I noticed in this episode that beside printing the kitchen at the house where the body was found, Sara stayed at the lab. I also felt like she was irritable or irritated by something. I also think that after learning about Grissom going into the bunker alone and without it being cleared, she'd be pissed off.
