Chapter 24

After most of the grunts are out to catch Leaf, we rush inside and the grunts notice us. "Intruder alert!" Some grunts decide to battle us, but we have a number of 5 people and we all use our Pokemon to battle.

During the battle, we evolve our Geodude into a Graveler, and it goes for Bulldoze to shock some of the Poison Pokemon to the ground.

Graveler: The Rock Pokemon: Rock and Ground Type. Evolved from Geodude at LV:25. Rolls down slopes to move. It rolls over any obstacle without slowing or changing its direction.

"Good thing we also have this." I take out the Linking Cord and use it on Graveler, and it also evolves into a Golem in the end.

Golem: The Megaton Pokemon: Rock and Ground Type. Evolved from Graveler by trading. Its boulder-like body is extremely hard. It can easily withstand dynamite blasts without damage.

"Nice, Golem is a strong Pokemon to use." Brock says.

"I know." I say with a smile. And after the grunts are either killed or knocked out, we search around the area and find a lot of stuff in the first basement. We look at the computer and Serena says, "It seems like those are the data of the Pokemon they have captured..."

"Yeah. And also the trade data, I think we will leave them to the experts, there is nothing here and I think we should go downstairs." My Mom says.

As we head downstairs, we are also ambushed by many grunts on the way. With the battle against the Pokemon they are using, this time Drowzee evolves and uses Hypnosis to knock out all the grunts. And Diglett also evolves into Dugtrio and use Sand Tomb to trap more of the grunts' Pokemon.

Dugtrio: The Mole Pokemon: Ground Type. Evolved from Diglett at LV:26. A team of Diglett triplets. It triggers huge earthquakes by burrowing 60 miles underground.

Hypno: The Hypnosis Pokemon: Psychic Type. Evolved from Drowzee at LV:26. When it locks eyes with an enemy, it will use a mix of PSI moves such as Hypnosis and Confusion.

"Woah, what are those?" Misty says as we see some weird-looking panels, as they stop on it, we start to be pushed until we stop at the wall.

"This sure is making us dizzy." Serena says, "What are those things?"

"I think they really look like spin tiles that we should worry about. Geez...they sure make us dizzy..." I say.

"But we should complete the maze if we want to go downstairs..." My Mom says as we sigh, we start to try out other tiles and eventually, we feel uncomfortable as we arrive at the stairs.

"But those stairs go up..." Brock says, "Didn't one of the grunts say that their boss might be underground?"

"There is an elevator there, but I think we need the key and it may be on the top floor." I reply.

Once we arrive there, we find nothing and eventually, we go downstairs once more. After fighting more grunts, we find more spin panels and they eventually head downstairs again. And in the fourth basement, more grunts are here to intercept us, and Serena yells, "Ash! Guys! I found the Elevator Key!"

"Good, now let's go to the elevator so we can go to the other side of this floor." I say as we rush back, after the mazes and puzzles, eventually, we arrive at the floor, but Jessie, James, and Meowth are there as they block the room in front of us.

"To think you guys have come this far to the base." James says.

"Nice to see you again, how is the smell from the secret perfume formula?" Misty taunts them, and they are furious about it. They decide to send out Arbok and Weezing to battle us, but we go for Butterfree and Hypno, with the help of the Sleep Powder and the Hypnosis, the two Poison Type Pokemon fall asleep and eventually, they are defeated by the Psywave and the Psychic.

Jessies says in anger, "Such a dreadful twerp!"

James gives an anime cry while recalling his Pokemon, "But I was so confident this time!"

"Hmph! How infuriating! Don't let it go to your head just because your Pokémon was a teeny tiny bit stronger!" Jessie says after seeing how Ash and Alice praise their Pokemon.

"Exactly! And even if you did defeat us in battle, we're still bigger and stronger than you! We'll just use brute force to-"

Just then, Pikachu gives them a Thunderbolt, causing them to be shocked and run for their lives. "Looks like Team Rocket's blasting off again!"

Serena says, "Good riddance..."

My mom sighs as he looks at the room in front of us. And when we enter the room, we finally get to see the boss of Team Rocket.

"Just one look at this Silph Scope and it's plain to see... Silph Co. definitely has the technology and skill Team Rocket will need to make our wishes come true." The blue-haired man says.

"Hmph... A machine that lets you see what otherwise cannot be seen... It's nothing but a useless toy. Still... Yes, this could do. Carry on, Archer, with your plans to take over Silph Co. for Team Rocket." The black-haired man says.

"Yes, Sir." But then the two of them notice us. Giovanni says, "Now what do we have here? If it isn't my old subordinate the Dark Rainbow?"

"And nice to see you again." My mom says with a sarcastic voice. "It really takes us a lot of time to search for your own base. You do know how much I really want to kill you for the greater good."

"Archer, deal with the children." Giovanni says, and Archer steps in front of us. "You are just a bunch of children. Do you seriously think you can take me on?"

"What if we can?" I say, but Serena says, "Ash, you help your mother, leave him to us."

I nod as I rush beside my Mom, with Serena and Misty's Pokemon covering me. Giovanni says, "I must say—I am impressed you got here. Team Rocket captures Pokémon from around the world. They're important tools for keeping our criminal enterprise going. And I am the leader of this enterprise...Giovanni!"

"I already know thanks to my Mom." I say. "Before we kill you, I want to know, where did you take the Cubone?"

Giovanni just laughs and says, "Fwahahahaha! Did you come barging into our hideout just for that? No wonder you are amusing. But... For your insolence, you will feel a world of pain!"

My Mom says, "Ash, you deal with the Pokemon, I'll battle him myself."

Then the three Pokemon I'm facing are Onix, Rhyhorn, and Kangaskhan. "I really don't want to fight you, but I guess I have no other choice, huh?" I go with Gyarados, who gives a loud roar. With the Hydro Pump, it gives Onix a lot of damage, Onix uses Rock Slide and also deals a lot of damage to Gyarados.

"Damn it..." I mutter and I command Gyarados to use Ice Fang, eventually freeze the Onix, and then use the Aqua Tail to finish it off. Rhyhorn is next, and with the Horn Drill, it manages to defeat Gyarados with ease.

"I am sorry, Gyarados..." I go with Primeape next. With the Detect, it manages to block a lot of moves, eventually it uses the Bulk Up to power up and eventually defeat it with Dynamic Punch.

The last one is Kangaskhan, and with the Rage attack, it manages to knock out Primeape. "Charmeleon!"

I try to give this Pokemon another chance, but he still ignores me, much to my horror. But just when Kangaskhan's Rage attack hits Charmeleon, it is now in rage as he goes for Flamethrower.

"Hey! Charmeleon!" I yell, but Charmeleon still ignores me while continuing to attack. Kangaskhan uses Comet Punch, giving a lot of damage to the Charmeleon. Eventually, with the Dragon Rage, Kangaskhan is knocked out.

"Thanks a lot, Charmeleon!" But the Pokemon gives me a Flamethrower before ignoring me again, I sigh as I can only recall the Pokemon. As for my Mom and Giovanni, they have a battle and both of them are injured and tired. "*pant pant* That was a truly intense fight."

"To think you have mastered aura as well..." My Mom says.

"F-forgive me, Giovanni... For me to be defeated by a simple child..." Archer says after Serena, Misty, and Brock also defeat him.

Giovanni mutters, "Useless..." He opens the cage with the Cubone and says, "Do what you want with the Cubone. But just to warn you: I want you to know that the adult's world is full of cruelty, you won't understand it. I can see you raise Pokémon with utmost care. But you would never understand what I hope to achieve. ... ... ... I shall step aside this time! But I hope we will meet and battle again!"

And much to our surprise, smoke starts to fill the room through the pipes from the ceilings, and after it clears, both Giovanni and Archer is gone.

"Where did they go?!" Misty asks.

"It's fine." My Mom says, "We will meet them again. Right now we need to help Insey and Yellow."

We nod as we are about to head out, and the Cubone wants to come with us, so Serena captures it.

Cubone: The Lonely Pokemon: Ground Type. Because it never removes its skull helmet, no one has ever seen this Pokémon's real face.

(Insey's POV)

After escaping Team Rocket, we arrived at the Celadon Game Corner. Yellow says, "The disk was stolen by Team Rocket... what should we do now?"

"Don't worry about it." Leaf shows the disk and we're shocked. "After all the trouble getting it, you don't think I'd give it back, do you? I just gave them a fake while this one will help me catch the cutest Pokemon ever, Mew!"

Palmer asks, "So you want to capture Mewtwo just because it is cute?"

"Of course not. I'm capturing Mew for the money!" Leaf says.

"M-money?" I exclaim in shock.

"Any idea how many kinds of Pokemon have been discovered so far? Mew is known as the Phantom Pokemon. It is undocumented, uncaught, and almost completely unknown! Every breeder in the world is dying to get their hands on it! Just imagine how much I could sell it for." Leaf says.

"Team Rocket is making an evil bio-weapon, and you're here trying to sell it as a pet?" Palmer glares at the girl, and at the same time, Mew suddenly appeared in front of us.

"It's Mew!" Yellow gasps, and Leaf notices it and tries to capture it, but Mew uses Metronome and gives a lot of damage to Wartortle. And at the same time, Team Rocket appears and tries to capture it, only to be defeated as well. Eventually, Mew is tired and he already teleports away.

"It's gone!" Leaf cries in shock. Palmer sighs, "At least Team Rocket still doesn't have it."

But much to our surprise, Leaf already took a lot of pictures from the Rotom Phone and then left with Jigglypuff.

"Oh no! She got away again!" I gasp as I was about to chase her, but Palmer says, "Wait, just let her go. At least she didn't do anything wrong."

"But Mom..." I mutter.

It is then Ash and the others also arrive. My brother Ash is surprised, "Palmer? What the hell are you doing here?"

"Well if it isn't Ash!" Palmer suddenly becomes an affectionate brother and hugs Ash tightly. My Mom sighs and says, "Where's Leaf?"

"Already left, but she did help us defeat some of the Rocket grunts." I say. "What about you guys?"

"Battled the boss, but he got away." Ash mutters, and we can only gasp in shock. Misty asks, "So who is this guy?"

After Palmer introduced himself, Misty suddenly becomes excited since Palmer is the Water Type Gym Leader in the Sevestar Region. And after talking for a while, my Mom and Brother Palmer leaves us so that we can continue our journey.

Here is a new chapter, and now Ash and the others have met Giovanni for the first time. I hope you like this chapter and the next chapter will be saving Fuji.
