Part I:

RAKKA

Kasumi, Thane and Garrus are in Navigation and Planning. Casnar enters from the connector, appears before them, Tetonbaum beyond his shoulders. The gold hiriwa stops when he sees Thane's unveiled eyes. "Since when did you stop wearing your eye covers?"

He has seen Kolyat without his, but never Thane…Kolyat discarded his own when he lived in Nualavera, had no intention of returning to Kahje, thus no use for lenses intended for easier communication with Hanar.

All but Casnar notice the tension between two individuals—Kasumi and Tetonbaum.

Tetonbaum gazes longingly back at her. He sees she already knows…Garrus and Thane, too.

Kasumi stands from her seat, wends her way passed the consoles. "Glad you made it back, Casnar," Kasumi says, and she turns her face to Tetonbaum behind him. "We heard what was said, how it was said outside the ship, Teton. There are mics on the exterior…and cameras."

Tetonbaum turns and follows her out.

On her way to find air, in the bay of the Ni S'pri, Kasumi turns from the open ramp and burrells and di'leans, their attention drawn to the pair as Tetonbaum stops behind her, picks up her hand and draws Kasumi to him. His fingers go to her cheek and caress once on the left and then on the right as he whispers apologies.

"Stop it, Teton."

Kasumi looks from under her lashes, not wanting to be the subject of so much curiosity. Among friends, it is one thing, but among strangers? Her mouth tightens.

( "Kasumi," ) he speaks to her in his tongue so all watching may hear and understand, ( "…I love thee." ) Her omnitool provides the translation.

Casnar comes to the entrance to the bay with others as Tetonbaum kneels.

He presses his face to the cloth about her waist in front of everyone. His hands hold onto her thighs, garbed now in pants like Miranda's.

Feeling the waves and dips of his scalp and ridges, Kasumi smooths her trembling fingertips over his crests. "I have never felt so free, as when I am with you, Little Meile," his lips move against the fabric over her belly, no care for those who see, "… I would die for you, my soul knows." Face turning up to hers, Tetonbaum takes her hands to hold above his head, below her breasts. "What love you fill me with, Death would never keep us apart." Expression serious and full of emotion, he stands until his eyes are above her head.

Casnar watches as Tetonbaum walks around her three times, Kasumi standing still and following him as far as her head can turn before she has to look the other way to reconnect with the sapphire eyes.

When Tetonbaum stops, he is facing her, "…I wed you here, before these witnesses," he whispers to her, "…If you accept me, walk a circle around me three times, stepping from my left," and without question, she does it.

Tetonbaum picks her up and holds her above him, small hands on his shoulders as he continues to walk with her perched in his arms. She bends to kiss his brow, nose, mouth.

"Is there no other way for them?" Casnar turns, to see Garrus with this question in the turian's gaze on the extraordinary wedding in the bay, "…I feel we should at least give them something more festive…instead of so…"

"Depressing," Grunt rumbles so low even the drell and turian can hardly hear it.
