"Welcome back." Alex said as Supergirl flew into the command room the next morning. "Good weekend?"

"I think so."

"That didn't sound very convincing." Alex pointed out.

"Things didn't seem to go that well with Alex." Kara said.

"In what way?" Alex asked.

"I don't know. She has been really distant and grumpy." Kara said as Rose to approached.

"Ma'am we are getting reports that Superman has gone nuts." Rose said.

"What do you mean?" Alex asked.

"See for yourself." Rose said handing her a tablet that showed videos of Superman rampaging through the streets of Metropolis. As they watched Kara's phone rang. Seeing it was from Lois she immediately answered.

"Hi …. yes we are watching it …. I'll be right there." She added before taking off.

"Wait." Alex called, but it was too late. "Rose, go through all the footage, look for signs of red flashes in his eyes."

"Yes ma'am."

"And get some Red-K antidote prepared." Alex added.

"Kal, what's going on?" Supergirl asked as she landed in front of him.

"Might have guessed you'd show up and ruin my fun. You just have to have the headlines yourself." He said. "But not today." He added ripping out a lamp post and trying to use it like a baseball bat, where his cousin was the ball. A swing she easily dodged.

"You just have to show me up at everything don't you." He said swinging again. "And you can never accept the role you play can you? My life was good. I had a place and purpose then you showed up and suddenly that went out the window." He said swinging and missing once more. "You ever wonder why I sent you away or did you buy into the earth upbringing story?" He said swinging again. "You have always been unwanted. You will always be unwanted. No matter where I go it is always you. I had nothing. You have memories. You have family. But that isn't enough is it? You just have to take what little I have too."

"Kal, this isn't you." Supergirl said.

"You have no idea what the real me is." Superman said finally throwing the makeshift bat to one side and launching himself at his cousin.

"I don't want to fight you." Supergirl said flying to one side and dodging.

"Too bad. It is time we end this." Superman said trying to punch Supergirl.

"End what?" Supergirl asked.

"You being in my life. I work alone." He said throwing punch after punch at his cousin. "I don't need anyone. Least of all you."

"Well right now, you need someone to stop you doing something you'll regret."

"You think I'll regret this? The only thing I regret is having a virtual stranger force themselves into my life." He said trying and failing to land another punch before finally switching to his heat vision. "Your problem is you have always been so needy. You've never learned independence."

"Family sticks together." Kara said.

"Do you really think we would have been anything more than strangers on Krypton? Your family were a mix of terrorists and those happy to condemn Krypton to hell. Why would I have mixed with you?"

"We're family Kal." Supergirl said holding her own against the heat vision.

"Cousins are barely family. Blood means nothing." He said giving up on the heat vision as his energy drained. "Why can't you leave me alone? Leave this planet." He said moments before Kara unleashed her own punch. As Kara hit him on the jaw he was knocked out cold. She immediately picked him up and flew him back to National City and the DEO.

"You okay?" Alex asked her sister as she emerged from Superman's room an hour later.

"Yes. How's Kal?"

"We've given him the antidote. He should be fine." Alex said. "You sure you are okay?"

"I guess. I'm sorry."

"For what?" Alex asked confused.

"How bad I am when I am on Red K. I thought I knew, but being on the other side, now I realise I was far worse."

"You know Clark didn't mean it." Alex said.

"I know. Can you update Lois, I need to get back and deal with a grumpy teen."

"Sure. But what's up with Alex?"

"No idea. She decided she didn't want to hang out on the way back yesterday and then was really grumpy this morning."

"You are always welcome to hide at my place."

"Thanks."

"I'll check on you later."

As Kara entered Alex's house she heard her daughter yelling. Concerned she ran up stairs just as her daughter was shouting at her cousins.

"I'm not your personal experiment."

"I was just joking." MJ said.

"So I'm just some joke to you. Some one you hang out with because I and my powers amuse you?" The teenage Alex shouted back.

"What's going on?" Kara asked entering the den where the teenage Kara and MJ looked shellshocked as the teenage Alex paced and shouted at them.

"Alzilla has been unleashed." MJ said.

"What is up with you?" Kara asked her daughter.

"Me?" Alex asked turning to face her mother. "Try looking in the mirror."

"What?" Kara asked.

"You didn't even want me. I was a mistake. And first opportunity you had, you tried to get rid of me." Alex snarled as her eyes glowed red.

"Kara, MJ, leave now, call your mom tell her Alex was also exposed." The adult Kara instructed as she stepped towards her daughter, while shielding her niece and nephew who ran from the room.

"Alex, listen to me, this isn't you."

"How would you know? You never spend any time with me anymore and when you do it is just to palm me off to other people, so how would you know who or what I am?" The teen replied.

"Alex I'll always know what a good person you are." Kara said edging closer to her daughter.

"You don't believe that. You think I'll be like them."

"Like who?" Kara asked lost.

"My father's family."

"Alex we don't know what they were like. But your father was a good man. And you are good."

"Then why don't you want me?"

"Alex, I love you more than anything." Kara said.

"We both know that is a lie. You feel responsible for me, that's not the same as wanting me." Alex said as objects started to fly round the room, all if them targeting Kara. Worried her daughter would get caught in the cross fire Kara grabbed hold of her daughter, wrapping her in a hug she couldn't escape from as object crashed into her.

"Let me go." Alex snarled trying and failing to fight off her mother as even more objects started smacking into Kara's back.

"Not happening." Kara said as J'onn flew through the window carrying the adult Alex.

"Here." J'onn said holding out a mask.

"Is it safe?" Kara asked as her daughter continued to fight. "She is only half Kryptonian."

"It's the best we have." Alex said dodging a flying book.

Nodding Kara took the mask and placed it over her daughter's face.

As the teenager stilled in her arms Kara kept holding her tightly until her sister stepped forward.

"We should get her to Lena's lab for some tests." Alex said.

-00-

"Good news is there is no trace of Red-K in her system anymore." Lena said to Kara who sat by Alex's bed squeezing her hand.

"She should wake up soon." Her sister added.

"Who did this?" Kara asked.

"I don't know. But my guess is she was exposed in Metropolis, the same time as Clark." The adult Alex replied.

"Why wasn't I exposed?"

"I don't know. Did she go anywhere without you?"

"Yes, she went with Kal. And there was something that happened. Superman was needed but Kal said it was nothing and Alex was nowhere near it."

"We'll figure it out. For now, you just worry about Alex." The adult Alex said.

"Are you sure she is okay?" Kara asked.

"Everything is looking normal." Alex said. "Do you want me to stay?"

"No. And I think Kara and MJ need you. They seemed pretty freaked out."

"Okay. I'll go by the DEO and see if your cousin can tell us anything. Call if you need anything." Alex said. As she turned to leave she looked at Lena and said. "Let me know if anything changes."

"Of course." Lena nodded.

-00-

"How are you feeling?" Alex asked when she entered the room Superman was in.

"Terrible. How's Kara?"

"She's okay."

"Is she avoiding me?"

"No. Something happened." Alex said.

"What?"

"You weren't the only one exposed. Alex was too."

"Is she okay?" Superman asked frowning.

"Still sleeping it off."

"How's Kara?"

"A little shaken, but she'll be fine. But we need to figure out where you were both exposed. Kara said you spent time with Alex."

"Yes, but nothing strange happened. Apart from the fire. But Alex wasn't with me." He said trying to figure out when he was exposed. "But I was covered in dust. Could that be it?"

"Maybe. Where was it?" Alex asked.

"The old film studios." He said.

"I'll send a team to look. In the mean time you need to be careful."

"I better go. I have a lot of bridges to mend." Superman said standing. "Can you tell Kara I'm sorry?"

"Of course."

-00-

"Hey." Kara said when she saw her daughter open her eyes.

"Mom?" Alex asked looking confused before she remembered what had happened. Knowing what she was going through Kara pulled her in for a hug.

"I'm sorry." Alex sobbed as her mother held her tightly.

"It's okay. It wasn't you, you were drugged." Kara said before releasing her daughter and sitting on the bed next to her. She then wrapped an arm round her and said. "I'm sorry you felt like I was neglecting you. That was never my intention. I thought you were enjoying spending time with your friends and didn't want to get in the way. You are and always will be the most important person in my life."

"Did I hurt you? When I was making objects fly round." The teenager asked.

"No."

"But I hurt you with what I said?" Alex asked.

"No matter what you say or do I will always love you."

"Hi." Lena said entering the room. "How are you feeling?"

"Okay, I guess." The teenager said.

"I've got one more test for you to take if you are up to it." Lena said.

"Sure." The teen replied as Kara held her tightly.

"Okay. Just blow into this." Lena said handing the teen a device.

Nodding the teen took a deep breath and blew into the tube part of the device before handing it back to Lena.

"That all looks fine." Lena said. "But you may feel a little tired for the next couple of days."

"Why don't we go home?" Kara asked her daughter.

"Is it safe?"

"It's over." Kara told her. "It is out of your system." She paused and then said. "We can stay here, we can go home or we can go see Kara and MJ."

"I don't want to see them."

"Why?"

"I was really mean to them."

"They'll understand. I know it is hard, but you can't hide forever." Kara said.

"But I can tonight?" The teen asked.

"You can tonight." Kara agreed.
