As Supergirl entered the DEO she caught the tail end of her sister chewing out one of the Agents. When the Agent was finally allowed to go Supergirl stepped into Alex's office and commented. "You're in a good mood today."

"Don't start." Alex said not looking up from her desk.

"So what's up?"

"This makes no sense." Alex complained pointing to her screen.

"What is it?" Supergirl asked.

"The budget."

"Fun." Supergirl said. "But is that the only thing bugging you?" Supergirl probed.

"Is there something else I should be worried about?" Alex asked.

"I don't know. But you seemed pretty stressed about Kara's disappearance last night." Supergirl pointed out.

"Did Alex tell you where she went?"

"No. Did she know?" Kara asked.

"No idea."

"So where did she go?"

"To meet up with Diz."

"Ahh." Supergirl said.

"She is spending a lot of time with Diz." Alex went on.

"She is sensible." Her sister reminded her.

"And a teenager." Alex countered. "And you are the last one to say I am being too over protective."

"Probably fair." Supergirl said as there was a knock on the office door.

"Ma'am." Harris said as Supergirl opened the door. "You have a visitor." He added as Agent Kendell stepped inside the office.

"Director Danvers." Agent Kendell greeted as he was shown into the office.

"Agent Kendell." Alex replied.

"Please call me Jack." He said.

"What can I do for you?" Alex asked.

"I just wanted to give you an update."

"On what?"

"The meta trafficking case. I know you worked on it with my predecessor."

"We aren't working that case anymore." Alex said.

"I know. But you strike me as someone who won't let things go. And even if it is unofficial pooling of resources, it can only help the case."

"I am always happy to lend a hand." Alex replied.

"Aptill said something about Stagg being connected. Is that still the case?" Supergirl asked.

"No. I don't want to speak ill of the dead, after all Aptill was a fine Agent, but he had a reputation for being blinkered. What you probably don't know is that Aptill had a run in with Stagg a few years ago. Ever since then he has pursued Stagg regardless of what the evidence said. Being completely honest he was about to be removed from the case."

"So if you are ruling out Stagg, presumably you have someone in mind?" Alex asked trying not to let her doubt of Kendell's assessment show.

"Yes and that's actually the reason I'm here."

"I thought you were here to pool resources?" Alex asked.

"I am. I need some information from you."

"Like what?" Alex asked.

"Do you remember an alien fight club run by Roulette?" He asked.

"Yes." Alex confirmed. "But that was a long time ago."

"Roulette had a successor, who had a successor, who we believe started their own fight club, but one using metas."

"So where are the invites?" Supergirl asked.

"For that we need to find some corrupt CEOs who are both rich enough and immoral enough to join in." Kendell said.

"They aren't really in our social circle." Alex said.

"I get that, but you do have links to the corporate world I was hoping to exploit."

"Exploit?" Supergirl asked.

"Well use. Look, if I go see Lena Luthor or Cat Grant and ask if they have heard rumours I imagine I wouldn't be walking out of that their offices."

"Very astute." Alex said.

"If Lena or Cat did know anything, even if it was just a rumour, they would have told us and they haven't." Supergirl commented.

"Maybe, but that isn't the only link of interest. Lena has a connection to Lex and I need to talk to him." Kendell went on.

"You think Lex is involved?" Alex asked.

"It's a possibility."

"He's in prison." Supergirl said.

"I know. But that hasn't stopped him before."

"And Lena hasn't spoken to him in years." Alex added.

"Which may mean he'll be desperate to talk to her." Kendell said.

"Lena cut all ties to him." Supergirl said.

"Maybe. But regardless, surely if she thinks it will help, she would see him." Kendell pressed.

"I doubt it." Alex said.

"Please just think about it." He said. "Anyway I should be going. If Lena agrees please let me know." He added before leaving.

"What do you think?" Supergirl asked once the door had shut.

"I can believe Lex is behind it, but it doesn't sit right. I feel like he was pushing us to look at Lex." Alex said.

"You want me to talk to Lena?"

"Lena has put that side of her life behind her, kind of anyway, we aren't going to drag her back into it. But we should tell her what is happening."

"Want me to do it while you stalk your daughter?" Supergirl asked.

"Don't you want to spend time with Alex?"

"J'onn is helping her understand her powers tonight." Supergirl said.

"Then yes please. For the record I am not going to stalk her."

"Uh huh."

"Kara? What brings you here?" Lena asked as Kara entered her office.

"Can't I just drop by?"

"You can. But recently there's been a reason."

"Sorry." Kara said.

"It wasn't a criticism." Lena said before asking. "How's Alex?"

"Still feeling guilty and terrified of being exposed again. But I think she is getting through it."

"And how are you doing?" Lena asked.

"Me?"

"I heard it was rough on you, from both Alex and your cousin."

"Not my favourite day. But right now I am focused on Alex." Kara said.

"Which is why I am even more surprised to see you."

"Well Alex has a session with J'onn tonight." Kara said.

"So what can I do for you?" Lena asked.

"Kendell, Aptil's replacement, came by to see us." Kara said.

"And?" Lena asked not sure what that had to do with her.

"He is trying to persuade us that Stagg is not involved and Aptill was only going after him as some sort of vendetta."

"I assume you don't believe him."

"No and Alex definitely doesn't."

"And I assume he offered some sort of bone to make it seem like a reasonable accusation." Lena said.

"He said he wanted to work in a cooperative way and told us that Roulette's successor's successor was running a meta fight club."

"Let me guess he thinks that I am on the invite list?" Lena asked.

"Yes, but that wasn't all. He thinks Lex is involved."

"He wants me to get him a private appointment?" Lena guessed.

"Yes. But that's not why I am here. I just wanted to let you know."

"Do you think Lex is involved?"

"I have no idea. But Alex thinks Kendell is pushing the Lex angle too hard."

"I can't say I'd be upset if someone is framing Lex." Lena said.

"Except if they are framing Lex that means the real danger is still out there." Kara said.

"Since Lex was locked away I have been monitoring everything and everyone he has access to. If he is up to something I'd know. But I will double check."

"Thanks. But promise me you won't go see him." Kara said.

"Every time someone has seen an image you have been very upset." J'onn said to the teenage Alex as they sat on the floor staring at a candle. "And it has been an image associated with bad experiences. So why don't we try something else. What about a good memory?" J'onn asked. "Try a recent one? Wait. Don't tell me. First I want you to picture it. Then I want you to describe it. In as much detail as possible."

"We arrived in Midvale and I saw Mom for the first time in weeks and she was okay. And she hugged me." The teen said. As she spoke J'onn could suddenly clearly see what she was describing.

"Stop there." J'onn said. "That worked. Let's try again, but for something I wasn't there for. Give yourself a minute to think about something."

"Got it." The teen said.

"Okay. Like before, picture it in your mind then I want you try describing it to me."

"Mom and I had just arrived on a new planet. I think I was about eight. The last planet hadn't been so great, it was always dark. But this one had two suns and it was so bright and mom looked so happy. There was a garden with a water fountain and she took me there and played in the fountain.

"Your mother was wearing a white dress, it had a blue stripe." J'onn said.

"You saw it?"

"I did." J'onn said. "Very clearly." He added before suggesting. "Okay, let's try this. Think of a memory and picture it. Now think about describing it but don't speak."

"Okay." Alex said after a moment before shutting her eyes in concentration.

Not sensing anything J'onn looked at the teen and saw she was frowning.

"You okay?" J'onn asked.

"I'm just tired." Alex said.

"Well we've been at it for a while. Let's leave it there." J'onn smiled blowing out the candle. He then looked at the teen and asked. "Can I make you something to eat?"

"No, I think I'll just go to bed."

"Okay. Do you want me to wait here until your mom gets back?"

"It's fine." The teen said. "But thanks for the help."

"Anytime." J'onn smiled before getting to his feet and leaving the apartment. As he walked out side the building he saw Kara heading towards him.

"Hey. You done already?" Kara asked.

"Yes. Alex managed to project a few memories into my head. It tired her out."

"So what I saw was her actual memory?" Kara asked.

"In all likelihood, yes."

"I can't believe she has been carrying that round by herself."

"Kara, I will help anyway I can, but this isn't something I have come across before. I don't know how much help I will be."

"Okay." She said. "Anyway I should get in there and say goodnight. Thank you."

"Of course." J'onn smiled before adding. "We'll figure this out."

Nodding Kara entered the building and jogged up to the apartment. Entering she expected Chewie to come scampering over. Not seeing him she looked round and was greeted by closed door. Heading to her daughters room she quietly called to her daughter. Not getting a response she opened the door and stepped into the darkened room where her daughter was in bed asleep, Chewie at her side. Looking at her daughter she wondered what other nightmares were haunting her and what else she had missed. As the guilt swept through her body she left the room and quietly shut the door.

Not feeling like she'd be able to sleep Kara took out her computer and started trying to identify missing metas.
