"You're back." Kara said as she entered Cat's office a couple of days later.

"Very astute." Cat said dryly.

"How was your trip?"

"Filled with overly enthusiastic, would be back stabbers."

"I thought it was a seminar on the positive influences of the media." Kara said.

"Precisely." Cat said before finally looking away from her screen and removing her glasses. She then turned her attention to Kara and asked. "How are you?"

"Okay, I think."

"If you are going to lie try to make it convincing." Cat said.

"I really am okay." Kara said. "Alex is making sure I don't push myself too hard."

"I sense a but." Cat said.

"I was right. The former meta heroes of National City have been disappearing." Kara said. "And I can't help feeling that if I paid more attention it wouldn't have happened."

"Kara, if you are right then everyone missed it. Including the police and FBI whose job it is to notice it." Cat said. "If you focus on the past and what might have been you will get no where. So let me ask you this. If you are right about them what do you want?"

"To help them. But I have no-" Kara started only for Cat to cut in.

"If they have been taken and are being forced to fight, while being held in terrible conditions it is safe to assume that they are losing hope. So you need to do what you do best and help them find hope."

"Where have you been?" Kara asked when her daughter finally came home that evening.

"Out with Martin. We have project due."

"You do? On what?"

"Murder."

"What?" Kara asked.

"We have to write a crime story. We've gone for murder. The weapon is a Stonefish."

"This is a school project?" Kara asked skeptically.

"Yes. Steve has been helping us with the medical side of it."

"Steve has been teaching you how to murder someone?" Kara asked.

"No, I came up with the Stonefish by myself. But we wanted to check what symptoms the victim would actually display."

"That's mildly disturbing. Do you want me to help with anything?"

"I'm not sure you know much about murder." The teen pointed out.

"Maybe, but the police? I can do that. I mean I binged The Wire." Kara countered.

"TV show?" The teenager guessed.

"Yes."

"We are trying to get the details right." Her daughter said before seeing Kara's disappointed look. "But I guess you could help me come up with some ideas if you have time."

"Absolutely." Kara said sitting next to her daughter.

"Can you run down to the shops and get some milk?" Alex asked her daughter.

"Now?" Kara asked, panic starting to set in.

"Yes now."

"Can't you get MJ to pick it up on his way home?"

"He won't be back for another couple of hours." Alex pointed out.

"Okay." Kara said moving to the front door and opening it. As she looked out side she started to have flashbacks and her heart started pounding.

"I can't." Kara said slamming the door and running upstairs. Concerned Alex ran up the stairs after her and was met with a closed door.

"Kara, I'm coming in." Alex said entering her daughter's bedroom, only to find the teen huddled in the corner crying.

"It's okay." Alex said sitting next to her and pulling her in for a hug.

"No it's not." Kara sobbed.

"But it will be." Alex soothed.

"How? I can't even go outside by myself anymore."

"I'm sorry I didn't notice." Alex said holding her tightly. "It's going to be okay. We'll get through this." She added before falling silent and letting Kara calm down. Once the tears had stopped Alex said.

"There's someone who your mom used to work with. She always spoke really highly of him. I think it would be a good idea for you to talk to him."

"You think I'm nuts? Cos Aunt Kara has already called that." The teen said.

"No. I think you have had to deal with more than any one should."

"Will you see him too?" Kara asked.

"As in go in with you?"

"No. I mean see him."

-00-

"What's up with you?" Supergirl asked entering her sister's office the next morning, where Alex was staring miserably at the wall.

"Kara is developing agoraphobia." Alex said.

"She's talked to you?"

"More like had a break down in front of me."

"And after that?" Kara asked frowning.

"I persuaded her to see a shrink."

"That's great." Kara said.

"Until she blackmailed me into seeing a shrink."

"Good for her." Kara said.

"Perhaps you should see one too." Alex suggested.

"That conversation would be really redacted." Kara pointed out.

"Is there one on Argo?" Alex asked.

"We did things the old fashioned way on Krypton." Kara said. "I mean my Aunt was a terrorist who my mother sent to Fort Rozz."

"You always have to outdo everyone at everything, including family drama." Alex commented. "I'm serious though, maybe you should talk to someone."

"I do. I talk to you."

"I'm not sure I'm qualified."

"I don't know. You screw up a lot."

"You are such a brat."

"So what are you going to do about Kara?"

"I don't know. I feel so helpless."

"Maybe Diz can help." Kara suggested.

"Diz?"

"I know you don't trust him, but Kara likes Diz and trusts him and talks to him. Maybe he can help her."

"How?"

"By being a friend. What would Kelly say?" Kara asked.

"That I should trust Kara." Alex said. "But for the record, she was just as suspicious as I was. And you are just as bad. Alex isn't even interested in Tom and you get more weird about it than I do about Diz."

"Don't take this the wrong way but what is wrong with you two?" Vasquez asked walking into Alex's office and seeing both sisters were looking miserable.

"Kara is terrified of leaving the house." Alex said.

"Alex is planning a murder using a Stonefish." Kara added.

"What?" Alex asked confused.

"I take it you aren't talking about each other?" Vasquez asked.

"No." Both sisters said.

"Well I have some news." Vasquez said. "About the attack on Kara."

"What?" Alex asked.

"As you know we, along with NCPD collected six different sets of DNA from the scene, which was reduced to four when we excluded Kara's and Diz's DNA. Of those we and NCPD got zero hits."

"So you have nothing?" Alex said.

"No. We started to question why there were no hits. If they were Kai there should be."

"Or they were juveniles and their records were sealed." Supergirl said.

"Precisely so we have been going through, completely unofficially, other databases."

"And you got a hit?"

"Not exactly."

"I'm in no mood for riddles." Alex said.

"We also expanded the search to consider familial DNA and we got hits, which means we can narrow the pool of suspects. Some of the DNA we collected is highly likely to come from someone related to Holtz Sr." Vasquez said.

"Doesn't this count as harassment?" Grant asked as he opened his door and saw Alex on the other side. "I said I'd get you those fitness reports and I will."

"This isn't about that." Alex said. "Is Diz here?"

"Yes and he's been here all evening."

"What?" Alex asked confused.

"I thought you were about to accuse him of something."

"No. I need to talk to him."

"Come in." Grant said stepping back from the door and letting her in.

"Diz." He shouted.

"I didn't do it." He said when he saw Alex.

"You are sounding really guilty right now." Alex pointed out.

"Aren't you here to blame me?"

"For what?" Alex asked confused.

"I don't know." He shrugged.

"I'm here to ask for your help." Alex said before they fell any further down a rabbit hole.

"With Kai?" He guessed.

"No. Kara. She's having a rough time and she needs you." Alex said nearly choking on the words.

"You want me to spend time with Kara?" He asked confused.

"Want may be a strong way of putting it." Alex said before sighing and saying. "Yes. Kara trusts you and she needs someone she trusts."

"When Kar got attacked was that my fault?"

"I don't think so. I think Kara was the target that time."

"But you don't know?"

"I think I know who was responsible, but I can't prove it. If I'm right, what happened had nothing to do with you."

"So I can see Kar without you going ape?"

"Yes. But if you hurt her I will kill you."

-00-

"Hi." The adult Alex called as she entered her sister's apartment.

"Hey." Kara said. "What are you doing here?"

"I thought I could hang out with you guys. MJ is at practice and Kara is out with Diz."

"You said that without your eye twitching." Kara commented. "This is progress."

"I trust Kara." Alex said.

"I thought you were meant to be good at lying." The teenage Alex said.

"I'm not lying. I trust Kara." The older Alex repeated.

"So it is Diz you don't trust, even though he saved Kara?" The teen pressed.

"Don't you have homework to do?" The older Alex asked.

"No. I'm done." The teen said before guessing. "Oh it was one of those questions. I'll take Chewie for his walk."

"She's got a point." Kara said to her sister when her daughter had left. "Diz seems like a nice guy and Kara likes him, maybe you should give him a break."

"He's still breathing isn't he." Alex said as Kara's phone rang.

"It's Lois." Kara said before answering the call.

"Hi Lois .. what do mean? Okay … I'll be right there."

"What's going on?" Alex asked.

"Something is wrong with Kal. I need to go. Can you look after Alex?"

"Sure. But please be careful."
