"Where's Alex?" Eliza asked her grandchildren a couple of hours later.
"I don't know. We've been with mom." MJ replied.
"Isn't she with aunt Kara?" Her granddaughter asked.
"It was too dangerous for her to see her." Eliza said. "Your aunt has Kryptonite in her."
"She could have gone home." MJ said.
"I told her to wait." Eliza said frowning.
"I'll call her." MJ said taking out his phone. When his cousin didn't answer his sister said.
"We'll head home and check."
"Please be careful." Eliza said. "Someone from the DEO should be waiting to drive you home. As soon as you find Alex let me know."
"We will." Kara said.
"And when you get home stay there." Eliza warned.

"Alex?" The teenage Kara shouted when she and MJ got home.
The only response they got was Chewie running to meet them. "At least we know she's been here." MJ said.
"I'll go check across the street." Kara said.
"You okay going?" MJ asked, noticing it was dark outside.
"I'll be fine" Kara said before hesitating as she opened the door.
"I'll come with you." MJ said leaving the house with his sister and Chewie.
"If Alex left Chewie at our place why would she have gone back to hers without him?" MJ asked as they crossed the street.
"I don't know. Maybe she's getting her stuff." Kara said as the entered the building.
"Something doesn't feel right." MJ said
"Alex? You here?" Kara called as they entered the apartment, which was shrouded in darkness. Turning on the lights Kara started to search for her cousin.
"She's not here." Kara said having checked all the rooms.
"She's not answering her phone either." MJ said having tried calling it again.
"She's been here though." Kara said. "Some of her clothes have gone. So has her bag."
"Could she have been at our place and we missed it? Maybe she was sitting on the roof?" MJ asked.
"Let's go back." Kara said.

"She's definitely not here." The teenage Kara said as she tried ringing her cousin ten minutes later.
"Is that her phone?" MJ asked hearing a buzzing.
"Yes." Kara confirmed having found the abandoned object.
"Why would she leave without it?" MJ asked.
"Don't know. But everything that is missing from her place isn't here either."
"You think she ran off?"
"Maybe."
"But why?" MJ asked.
"She's probably scared." Kara said.
"Then what about the aquarium?" MJ asked.
"It will be shut by now." His sister pointed out.
"What about that garden she goes to?"
"Also shut and why not take Chewie? I've got a really bad feeling." Kara said before grabbing a bag.
"What are you doing?" MJ asked when he saw his sister packing.
"Going to look for Alex." She said as she wrote a message on her phone.
"Do you know where she is?"
"Not really. I do have one idea though."
"What?"
"Did you notice what was missing from her apartment?"
"You said clothes." MJ said.
"Something else was as well." Kara said throwing more food and water in the bag.
"What?"
"That spaceship key is gone."
"You think she's run away to the ship? Wait does that mean she is going to properly run away?"
"I don't know." Kara said. "But I'm going to look."
"How are you going to get there?"
"Diz is going to take me. I hope."
"Diz?"
"He has a car and a licence." Kara reminded him.
"Let me get my bag." MJ said.
"You need to stay here and run interference."
"The forest is huge and Aunt Kara got completely lost last time. You need my help finding it." MJ said.
"Mom and grandma will probably kill us." Kara warned.
"I can live with that." MJ said there was a knock on the door.
"Have you found Alex yet?" Diz asked when Kara opened the door.
"No. And we need your help."
"Anything."
"I need you to drive us somewhere. And I need you to not ask any questions. And I need you to lose the DEO tail."

"You sure this is the right place?" Diz asked as he pulled off the road.
"No." Kara said.
"How would Alex even have got out here anyway?"
"Don't know." Kara said. "But it is the last idea we have."
"So now we search the forest?" Diz asked.
"No. Now MJ and I search. I need you to stay here."
"What? Why?"
"It's complicated. But I really need you not to ask questions."
"Okay." Diz agreed, although he clearly wasn't happy.

As the two teens walked through the trees their phones suddenly buzzed.
"It's from Alex." MJ said. "But how? Her phone is at home."
"Time delayed message?" Kara suggested as she read the email. "This isn't good."
"She really has run off." MJ said as he read his email moments before Kara's phone rang.
"It's grandma." She said.
"You think she got a message too?"
"We're about to find out." She said answering the call.
"Hi grandma." She said. "Yes we got messages too ... No … We're out looking for her … I call you when we find her … we will." She said before ending the call.
"Well grandma knows Alex ran off." She said to her brother.
"Did she have any ideas where?"
"No. She thinks she's in National City. I didn't tell her we were here." Kara said. "Come on. We need to find her." She then looked down at Chewie and said. "Time for you to earn your next dog treat."

"Well?" Lena asked when Eliza ended the call.
"They are out looking for her." Eliza replied. "I'll ask J'onn and Ruby to join in the search." She added. "But I don't understand, I know she was upset she couldn't see Kara, but why run off?"
"I don't want to say it, but could she have been taken?" Lena asked.
"I don't know." Eliza said as Lena went to a computer and started typing. A few minutes later she said. "Here."
"What?" Eliza asked.
"I've got the footage of Alex leaving. Good news is she was alone."
"And the bad news?" Eliza asked.
"She looked distraught." Lena said showing Eliza the image. "That was right after I saw her." Lena said.
"Did she seem okay?"
"Yes." Lena said before pausing and adding. "She was less focused than normal. I assumed because she was upset about Kara. Speaking of Kara are you going to tell her?"
"Not yet. There is nothing Kara can do." Eliza said. "And the added stress might cause more damage."

"There it is." The teenage Kara said as Chewie ran up the ramp.
"Finally." MJ said as they reached the entrance to the ship.
"Alex?" Kara called as they entered.
"What are you doing here?" The teenage Alex asked from the corner she was sat in, as Chewie ran towards her.
"We've come to take you home." Kara said.
"I don't have a home anymore." Alex said as Chewie started licking her face.
"What are you talking about? Of course you do." MJ said.
"Don't lie. I know you don't want me around."
"If we didn't want you, why would we have come all this way?" Kara asked.
"I heard you." Alex said. "You said you were fed up of it always being about me and it was unfair you were stuck with me."
"No we didn't." MJ said confused.
"I heard you."
"Alex, we didn't say that." Kara said.
"I heard you." Alex repeated.
"That really wasn't us." Kara said before deciding to change arguments. "If your mom finds out you are here she is going to freak out."
"What?" Alex asked, almost looking like she had been slapped.
"Your mom will freak if she finds out you ran away." MJ said.
"What are you talking about?" The teenage Alex asked.
"You think your mom is going to be okay with you running away?" MJ asked confused.
"She won't care. She can't. I mean she's dead."
"No. She isn't." MJ countered.
"They hid it from you too?" Alex asked.
"Hid what?"
"She died. And Eliza didn't know what to do with me. She said it was unfair to expect you to live with me."
"Alex, I don't know what you think you heard, but you are wrong. Your mom isn't dead." Kara said, hoping she wasn't lying.
"Have you seen her?"
"Well no. But that doesn't mean anything. Grandma would have told us. She would have told you."
"Alex, let's go find out. We think she is alive. So let us prove it." MJ said. "If we're lying you can come straight back here."
"If you are wrong what's going to happen to your mom? Isn't it safer to check?" Kara added.
"She's alive?" Alex asked.
"Yes." Kara repeated. "Diz is waiting at the road, let's get you to her."
"Okay." The youngest teenager agreed.

As Lena entered the lab where Eliza was monitoring Kara's readout she said.
"I just spoke to Ruby."
"Have they found her?"
"No. It's got worse. Kara and MJ met up with Diz and then the three of them gave the DEO escort the slip."
"What?" Eliza asked taking out her phone and calling the teenage Kara. Not getting an answer she moved on to MJ only to be ignored again. "What were they thinking?" She asked angrily.
"I don't know." Lena said. "Although …. "
"What?"
"They clearly aren't out partying and we know Alex was upset when she left. If they are out looking for her I can think of somewhere that they wouldn't want the DEO to go."
"Where?"
"Kara's ship. She took the kids to see it a few months ago."
"Where is it?" Eliza asked.
"I don't know the exact location. Kara got lost finding it. But I know where I parked my car."
"Let's tell J'onn." Eliza said.

"Where were you going to go?" MJ asked as they walked back towards the road.
"I don't know. I got here and then figured out I had no where to go." Alex said as she started to feel dizzy and stumbled.
"You okay?" Kara asked.
"Fine."
"How'd you get here anyway?" MJ asked.
"Bus and ran."
"It's like ten miles from the main route." MJ said as Alex stumbled again.
"With powers it didn't take long." Alex pointed out as she lost her balance once more and started to fall.
"Easy." MJ said rushing forward and supporting his cousin, before helping her sit down.
"We've brought food, you should have some." Kara said emptying the contents on the ground in front of her cousin who picked up a Twinkie and started eating it.
"Is Alex eating a Twinkie?" MJ whispered to his sister.
"Looks like it." Kara said as Alex picked up another Twinkie.
"This so isn't normal." MJ said as Alex ate every snack her cousins had brought.
"Do you have more?" Alex asked looking up.
"We can stop for some on the way back." Kara said. "Let's get to the car."

"Everything okay?" Diz asked when he saw the three teens approach the car.
"It will be." Kara said. "Can you drive us to Lena's lab?"
"Sure."
"And get Twinkies." The teenage Alex said.
"What?" He asked.
"Please." Kara asked.
"Um okay, sure."
